Looking at the fixtures list post split we are going to have to be taking near max points to stay in title race and away record needs to improve a lot. I think we can do it but max points against Kilmarnock and Livingston away in Jan is a MUST.

Celtic have 8 home games from 13 and only really tricky away games are Kilmarnock, Hearts and St Johnstone

We have 5 homes games from 12 and tricky away games against Kili, Livingston, Aberdeen, Hibs, Celtic and Motherwell. We dropped points in 5 of the 6 reverse fixtures however on the positive we should have won against Aberdeen, Hibs and Motherwell I can't see us playing that badly against Livingston again and we have the believe that we can go up against Celtic and win.

It's going to take a very special effort from our team but if we are within 3 points come the split GAME ON!

Well said BRW11. Davis and Defoe will make a difference and Dorrans will hopefully be back soon. I agree that maximum points against Killie and Livingston is essential then kick off from there. I hope SG plays a steady back four now. With no European games to worry about this is important.

(4-4-2) McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Worrall, Barisic (if fit) ; Jack, McCrorie, Arfield, Davis; Morelos, Defoe

Halliday and Candeias will be useful on the bench.

If Gerrard changes to 4-4-2, I think it would that team doiger. Except I think he'd drop mccrorie, put Davis in his place and play Kent or candieas. He might keep to the side that beat c*ltic and gradually introduce Davis and Defoe?
