Just like to take this opportunity to wish kevin thomson, all the very best, in his about to be appointment, of the new rangers under 18 coach! Terrific step up for thommo, from his shared coaching position, with gregory vignal,
from coaching the rangers under 13's,14's and 15's, to the under 18 coaching position! Thommo is very highly rated within ibrox and the hummel training centre. His work in his very own "KEVIN THOMSON ACADEMY" hasn't gone unnoticed and has been spoke about very highly! Our DOF mark allen, said when he was appointed our DOF, that he would look to appoint future rangers manager's/ head coaches, from within, if he felt they were good enough! You just never know in years to come, what position within our club, kevin thomson could be appointed to! We all know mark allen and craig mulholland rate kevin thomson very highly!
I loved thommo when he was at ibrox as a player. He was a terrific midfielder and barring multiple injuries, he was a future glasgow rangers captain IMO! You just never know in football, especially with allen, willing to promote from within, that a good few years down the line, kevin thomson could be appointed to the very privileged position, as the manager/ head coach of glasgow rangers!
Would love to read other bears views on this,
with thought and sensibility of course,
without decrying other supporters views and thoughts, on this!

If he is good enough then aye. Wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

Agree with some of your post but regarding our future 1st team manager, let’s see how he gets on, give the guy a chance and calm down . We all know what happens every time you get ahead of yourself.

Good luck KT for sure. Hope he's a great coach. But can we just get one thing straight here. He was an utterly appalling footballer for us. Seems to be the trend that anyone who speaks with passion about the club once they have left gets elevated to legendary status.

Thomson was a trier, but just because someone has no attacking/ flair to their game and works hard, it doesn't make them a world class holding midfielder. He was utterly dreadful.

Oh dear! When are you going to learn? Talk about creaming your Y's too early. Take a deep breath and control yourself before posting. Enthusiasm is one thing. Depositing your load far too early is another.
I make no apology if that is not the response you crave.

Glasgowrangersgooner, everyone entitled to their opinion and all that, but your words are very harsh on our former midfielder, kevin thomson! He was a very good midfielder as far as i'm concerned and like a helluva lot of bears,
including myself, i thought he was a future rangers captain, in the making! Barring his horrendous luck with injuries of course. I think your miles away with your opinion of his ability as a midfielder. To call thommo an appalling footballer is shocking and well wide of the mark!

Thomson wasn’t appalling for us I thought he did quite well only thing I would have said against him was his frequent stupid challenges which resulted in some unnecessary yellow and red cards.

I agree he was a really decent player for us coops, believe if it wasn't for injuries he would have been a top player for us. You do need to take a chill pill sometimes tho the guys only coaching the 18s and you have his path mapped out to be our manager.

Thought Kevin Thompson was a cracking player for us a winner! He wasn't so appalling when he broke through the smeltic defense via a couple of one two's then slotting the ball in the goal.

I remember at the time Hibs had a good young team with their central midfield being Brown and Thompson. Both us and Celtic were bidding for Brown but I think we ended up with Thompson after he chose Celtic. Injuries definitely curtailed his time with us and his career in general.
