Lot of nonsense on here about performance last night. Job done in difficult environment and let's move forward. Davis and Defoe should be better for the competitive run out and closer to competing for first team spot. Also good to see Lafferty convert, believe more to come from him this season.

Got to agree ds think coisty hit the nail on the head defoe needs to be more involved in the game come short receive the ball ECT but fairness to him last night he made a good couple of runs where he was wrongly ruled offside. Suppose time will tell and it's only 6 month loan with option of 2 further 6 months.

Defoe is the type of player to not get involved much in the game but his great positional awareness in the box is what makes him so effective. couple of times last night he was in good positions and made some good runs wrongfully called offside. Remember he stills needs to get up to speed.

Bankie, please explain " Lots of nonsense on here about last nights performance "? In my previous post i said i was pissed off with some of our performances. The reasons are myself and plenty of other Rangers fans take time of work, make child care arrangements etc so that we can follow our team. We also pay good money to watch them. So you would expect Rangers to be at least trying their best so that hopefully we can enjoy both halves of the game.

I think defoe and davis will improve with more game time, its match sharpness that they need. Game of two halves last night, first half on front foot pressing, second half sitting back and inviting them into the game. The team seem to go into panic mode whenever we concede a goal against anyone, steve g needs to sort that out. Have always given Flanagan the benefit of the doubt at left back, but if right back is his position then god help us, he was dreadful last night! Mcauleys legs have gone by half time as well, and I can see why we have signed another right back and goalie. At least we can rest that last nights starting eleven won't be the same at the weekend.

Just shows how much we miss, our most creative players, Tav, Morelos, Kent. I had thought Lafferty/ Defoe would make a good pairing up front, I was well wrong. Been going to Ibrox and following Rangers since 1989/ 90 and Davis is my fav. player for us. My biggest fear of him coming back was he'd turn out to be average or worse, very early days, it's still a worry.

We should be beating cowdenbeath 6 and 7 nil never mind 3 1 we were actually struggling with them in second half.
