By any chance are the people on here saying Shinnie isn't good enough for us the same people that said Ryan Jack was a step backwards and was mediocre at best? imo Shinnie would be a great singing he's versatile and has a bit of dig about him.

Ok kylel1872, who would you drop out our current midfield, for graeme shinnie? My answer is nobody, because in my eyes they're all better than shinnie and like i've said since our first link with shinnie, we don't need that sort of midfielder! For the record i have always praised ryan jack and wanted us to sign him. Undoubtedly he's getting even better, since he signed for rangers and working with steven gerrard. At shinnie's peak years age now, he would want first team football, IMO he's not good enough to get first team football with rangers. Its a creative midfielder that should be our priority signing not another defensive one.

I think shinne is good, but I don't see who he replaces. Aslong as no one else in spl gets him am happy and he goes south then am happy.

This is easy you get Shinnie he’s ready made for SPL no gamble not needing someone to settle in and all that guff plus he’s free.

Does Shinnie also play full back? If yes in my opinion he would be an excellent player to sign, an I right in saying he was with Rangers as a youth? so the blood is still blue.

There is far to many defence mids in our squad already.
if we use him as left back that is fair enough but for me he doesn't get in the midfield a head of anyone else.
Our problem is scoring and assisting goals that should be our priorty next season to add these players that do this.

Personally I wouldn't use him as a Midfielder I think he is a great strong LB definitely better than anyone we have. I like halliday and think he has been great when played but shinnie I think gives you more and also he can play at midfield as and when needed. for Free its a no brainer.

How can shinnie not be good enough when he has bossed the midfield in all but 1 game against us this season? Where was jack when shinnie was running over the top of our midfield? You don't want shinnie but you'd have wee holt running about kidding on he's durrant? Shinnie would play LB but would easily give jack a run for his money midfield👍.

Shinnie, just as Jack was, is a no brainier, proven in SPL and the right age. Let Davis, Coulibaly, Holt, Dorrans and possibly Rossiter go at end of season.

I agree with those who say take him. If he joins he's free, versatile and can fight for a place in the team like everyone else. If good enough he'll play if not a handy squad player. By the way Ulster man it was his brother Andywho played for us a youngster.

Bit of a no brainer for free - but do see him more as a left back option. Hates broon as well.

Don't agree with you in the least coldo, regarding shinnie would be playing left back for us. No chance in my opinion. If and a big IF steven gerrard wanted shinnie, it would be for midfield and for cover as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't drop any of our current midfielders for him. Its a more creative midfielder we need first and foremost, not another same type of what we already have. No thanks from me.

Shinnie doesn't and hasn't bossed the midfield agaonst us coldo. He has a good engine and likes a dirty challenge but is just not as good a footballer as Ryan Jack imo.

supercooper how can you say he wouldn't be brought in to play LB its a position he has played well for the sheep and at the same time can play midfield for me barisic just doesn't cut it he has no dig no desire and is injury prone all qualities that shinnie does have in his locker so as a free its a no brainer.

Yes he has seeker that's why we have played aberdeen 5 times won 1 drew 2 lost 2. Facts don't lie👍. Coop, you mean the creative midfielder like steven davis you told us was exactly what we need? You made an ar$£ of yourself so many times its quite hard to take your opinion seriously👍. Bankie is spot on, get shot of the deadwood👍.

Suoercoopereleven, I would play Shinnie at left back if he joins us, I honestly think he has the balls to make it with us, he has a drive about him that is lacking in some of our players, just my opinion. I don't think Barisic has the bottle for our league, Andy is a favourite of mine and would be retained, but, is he good enough to play the left back roll in every game?, which is a weak area also, both full back positions are weak from a defensive point of view in my opinion.

Shinnie is not a priority for me, but I can see why we'd go for him.

There will no doubt be players leaving and I'd prefer a shinnie on the bench to a coulibali.

Seems like the type of player who will fight for a place. Another captain. Can't have too much of that mentality.

Shinnie can play a number of positions but his main role would be to bolster midfield. He is battle hardened, skilful and has a tremendous ability to get up and down the pitch. Big plus that he is not best friends with broonie. No risk and no brainier.

Correct mols, shinnie compared to coulibaly is a massive upgrade and as irv ger said shinnie has a drive that a lot of our players don't and would fight for a place. Our team picks itself because there is very little competition because of a lack of dig and drive👍.
