Agree, another poor season- probably end up second in league so better than last year however I'm losing faith in SG - signed a lot of players but most of them don't appear to be of sufficient quality. It's only SG's reputation as a player and his no bull talk that has given him some leeway with the fans however if someone with less standing in the game had taken over as manager then make no mistake the fans would be tearing him apart. Sterile uncreative football in most games, stretching back to the game against UFA. 3 salary increases for Morelos, a guy who has potential but can't seem to absorb the simple instructions, presumably being given on a daily basis, to stop the diving and petulance and focus on what he's there for. Signing 2 strikers who increasingly look like panic buys and who can't score and others who at best are long term projects, (Grezda, Barasic etc) . Run in Europa League was a boost and win against the mhanks was long overdue so on balance better than last year however SG's not the master tactician we thought he was.

Morelos put in some shift, Got zero service and had to backtrack as far as his own half at times to get on the ball, Arfields passing was dreadful, Candeias had a mare, Barisisc has gone AWOL, Kent turned into trouble too often, crossing was poor.

Two big games that can rectify our season. He gets booked in both for diving? Doesn’t make a keeper move once in both games . Frustrated with the guy. What do we do?

Can I note here that I never seen the yellow card but the commentators seemed to agree on reflection that his yellow was a penalty, and there was debate on if his goal was in fact onside. Despite this and a possible red for a dons player, we were not good enough.

But giftwrapping them with a goal in the first 5 killed us.

But not on the shoulders of Morelos.

As much as we are breaking the game down and accusing players of this, that and the next thing, is it not obvious that we lack direct attacking play? Our midfield is riddled with defensive midfielders and that's primarily why we are not creating chances. I was at the game last night and if we were being scored on passing the ball from side to side we would have been deemed outstanding. Simply no chance of moving forward with the current midfield line up folks. Simply no creative individuals to feed our strikers.

Is there a chance that fear is letting our side down? The pressure Gerrard may be putting on the players is being highlighted all over the pitch, perhaps he is asking too much of them for the sake of his inability? Just a thought.
