I know there is history behind this, but the current apathy to the national team is not healthy. Lot's of Rangers greats have starred for our country and were proud to do so. Why should we be against our upcoming stars from pulling on the Dark Blue jersey and create their own tales to tell their grandchildren? I used to take great pride in seeing several Ibrox names on the teamsheet for L'Ecosse and would hope that continues.

BizzmyB, super, we (and the tims for that matter) have bigger fish to fry in the coming years than these stupid, pointless internationals that we have been playing of late. They only get in the way of what's happening domestically. tierney and robertson, both captains of Scotland, pulled out because they didn't fancy the plastic pitch and that apathy runs deep within the team and fans. If that game had been at hampden what do you think the crowd would have been. All of us on this site of a certain age were fervent Scotland fans in the past but for various reasons those days are gone, at least for now.

Supercooper

That’s fair enough however did you still cheer the likes of Brown and Griffiths when they played for Scotland knowing how much they hate Rangers?

Arthur D. Of course I did. I sat next to a die hard celtic fan who used to chant barry fergusons name during the matches. When they pull of a scotland jersey the are playing for a team I support.
Also I just can't understand this refusal to support our national team because of what the association done. That has nothing at all to do with following the team of your birth.
I honestly don't care if certian fans boo a player because they play for a certain team domestically, I feel sorry for them and worry that the game might finish after there bed time and there mum will be angry.
Domestic football is totally different from international.

That’s fair enough mate however I just can’t bring myself to cheer on players like Griffiths and Brown. Why would I cheer on guys who hate us and have went out their way to show their contempt of our club?

Flinty it's not a refusal to support the national team because of what the association. "done" it's a refusal to support the national team because of what the association are DOING.
