Regarding transfers for next season, obviously a lot depends who moves on from current squad, I think we will probably need another 4-5 signings. Think we have sufficient cover for midfielders, but we need another solid centre back, left back and right back. Also going to need 2 goalscorers. Who these players are, I'm not sure because transfer values are stupid for certain players. But I would personally like to see some of the youngsters getting more of a chance this season. A lot of the youngsters confidence must be high after having a good season, so surely they would love to have the chance to impress. Gerrard hasn't seemed that keen to use any of the youngsters (including league cup), some people say that Gerrard obviously doesn't think they are ready, but I'm sure some of them will do well with the experience of being involved in the match day squads, even have more on the bench to get used to the atmosphere.

We don’t need a right back. We have Tav, Flanagan and Polster. We desperately need a creative no.10.

From the team that defeated Celtic I think we need the following for the first team:

Foderingham - McGregor comes back in
Tavernier - Plenty cover at the moment
Flanagan - New LB required to battle with Barasic
Katic - back up required (no big spend)
Goldson - back up required (no big spend)

Davis
Jack
Kamara

While I like these 3 I can’t help but think we could do with another, one who is can be the first name on the team sheet. I’d also like Turnbull from Motherwell

Arfield - plenty back up already signed up.
Kent - Ojo has been mentioned and he has a similar potential to Kent, we also have Murphy to come back but a no. 10 of quality who would provide us the option to change formation to a 4-2-3-1 when needed.

Defoe - We need another one in place of Lafferty but if Morelos goes we’ll need 2 strikers.

All in all not major surgery required but if we could get 2/ 3 of real quality and keep them fit we will be close next season. £8-£12M for Morelos could fund this and maybe allow us to get a top attacking mid and left back, our 2 priorities IMO.

Sorry bear but I lost you halfway through, what does no big spend actually mean? Buying 2nd rate players, ?

Tommy.

i agree with most of your points. Left back and central defender are needed.

Our squad is huge at the minute, we need to trim it down significantly. Dodoo, holt, hodson, alnwick and herera need to leave. rossiter, Docherty, lafferty, grezda, middleton, dorrans, mcrorie, halliday, foderingham and polster have the pre season to prove their useful or they will need to be punted/ loaned out. if we get rid of some of those then we should replace them with better options.

If morelos goes, which I can't see happening due to his discipline issues this year, we will need to replace him with a first choice forward.

overall i'm happy to go into the new season the team that finshed the season.

What do you think it means Tommy? Perhaps if you expanded on your reading skills you wouldn't have lost wee bear halfway through. what's with your arrogance in the last few threads? 👍.

Blue89 I was just thinking that If Tav was to leave this summer we would need another right back. Flanagan seems to be doing ok at left back. If Tav was to leave would like to see another right back similar to Tav, someone good at going forward and putting balls into the box. Think Flanagan better defensive back. Not totally convinced with Polster, he didn’t make bench to many times. Wonder if Hastie could play no.10 role?

Agree with you Shaft, if Tav leaves that is. I think we need him to stay another season or two because we’ll struggle to find another RB that will contribute as much as him going forward. I think Gerrard will gradually ease Polster in so he isn’t thrown in at the deep end.
