I posted this yesterday but never got put up.

Question guys. Ppl on here saying katic will be dropped when helander comes in, I know he was dropped for that duddy worrell last season. But who's to say SG won't go with a 5 at the back but fullbacks push more up or even goldson dropped. I know a long shot but no one knows what the managers thoughts are on this.

Thoughts guys?

Suppose he could do . 5 at the back out of possession and 3 with the possession. Bit risky though If we lose the ball in the middle of the park .

But Supercooper says he knows for a FACT Katic is being dropped and GOLDSON is SG number one, he knows this for a FACT!

It just would not work. He didn't change formation to accomodate defoe. So he's not going to do it for a centre half like katic who he had no prob benching majority last season.

Why change the team, formation etc when it worked wonders towards the end of the season?

I can see your thinking mate but I doubt Gerrard would have brought Ojo and Jones in if he was planning on playing with wing backs. If we get through to the Europa League proper and go deep into the cup competitions there will be plenty of games for Katic, Helander, Goldson and Edumndson to rotate although I fully expect Goldson and Helander to be our preferred centre half pairing this season.

Cheers guys just thinking tho I do like katic and I think he has potential to be a great at us, just don't want to see another good defender go for pennies as we have seen it before.

I would drop Goldson wasnâ€™t impressed with him at all.

That sounds more like a 3-5-2

I think we might change to that in some games when struggling to break teams down but we have signed to many wingers to make that the preferred formation.
