I read an article earlier there regarding our very own steven davis congratulating ian baraclough, on his appointment as the new northern ireland manager. Davo was stating the tremendous job he had previously done,
with the northern ireland under 21 team.
Baraclough done a very decent job at motherwell and unfortunately for us he was their manager when they beat us in the play offs, a few years ago now 😞It got me thinking why big tommy wright keeps getting overlooked for these big jobs and keeps losing out. Big tommy was a fantastic manager at st. johnstone and won the scottish cup with them, which was a tremendous achievement! He was voted the best manager in st. johnstone's history, if my memory serves me correct. He's a good manager and most definitely deserves a chance/ break at managing a much bigger club than the saints, he deserves that. I wouldn't want dundee utd to get anything good, but they could do a helluva lot worse,
than appointing tommy wright as their new manager! I honestly thought wright was a shoe in for the northern ireland job and imo was the best man for that job.

SHL barrow Clough was the red not favourite for job. Other two only interviewed to make it look like a competitive process
I believe Robinson offers under 21 job and turned it down.

I wouldn't blame stephen robinson if indeed he did turn down the chance of becoming the northern ireland under 21 manager. I honestly would have thought that out the two of robinson and baraclough, robinson is the better manager and was more entitled to get the northern ireland manager job than baraclough. He's done a very good job as motherwell manager, as he's rebuilt the team around 3 times now, after selling his better players each time. He'll get a much bigger club than motherwell, in the not too distant future imo.

i doubt it he is just a run of the mill manager, all he knows is roughouse tactics.

He was getting more money to be under 21 manager than Motherwell pay him, hence reason they r taking about a pay rise. He is on buttons at well as a basic with good bonuses.
