The biggest lesson from last night was that money talks. No matter how much energy or passion you have, the best players will come out on top,

Liverpool have a number of players that are worth more than our team and last night it showed.

They never panicked, they appeared to have an extra man or two at times, their technique, pace and power was 10 times ours.

1st half had me hoping, 2nd half put that genie back in the jar.

The whole team underperformed compared to Liverpool but not necessarily below their ability.

Most players have been trashed on here except McGregor ~ I thought he was very poor for at least 3 goals but he is untouchable for some.

Goldson is a train wreck for many but look at how the new big thing King did (huge potential but no where near yet) .

Money is the issue and without it we are never doing anything in the CL.

No TV money coming so what about the fans who say they deserve better? I recon if those fans paid £5000 to £10000 for a season ticket we could start to compete with Europe's elite.

We were dealt a reality check last night, hope our supporters can see the light and accept what are where we are in the world of football.

Funnily enough I agree with you DK19

Liverpool are just a different level to us and as you rightly point out one player is worth more than our entire team
we have found our level at Europa league level and I’m happy to stay there and compete for that
money does talk and we will never be able to compete with the likes of football elite of Liverpool and Man City’s etc all who are owned by very rich and powerful people
even if a fan paid £10.000 a season ti jet still no where near the money these teams have at there disposal and even if we did what multi million player would want to come and play Spfl football? I can’t think of one these days if we’re talking ones who would lift us right up to champions league level why would they when they have the lure of all the top leagues in Europe?

we can have a team who can put on a decent showing against some of the weaker teams in champions league - but we still don’t have that right now
The team needs an overhaul to many been there too long and have lost the fight before it began.

but looks like we don’t have funds to overhaul the team either going with what was made available to Gio
So if he can’t work to budget and get galvanise these players to play there best football then maybe he’s just not the right candidate for the job
Out with European football - is he good enough to get these players competing for the Spfl right to the end of the season?

with how we have performed in Europe this season and in the league
what’s your thoughts on the boards backing of the manger and also your thoughts on Gio coaching methods and tactics? Is he still the man for the job?
has he been given enough to do better or has he been let down?

If that is the case then why aren’t we battering 99% of the SPL week in week out? Passion and leadership is where it counts. Don’t see any of the other smaller CL teams getting hammered so regularly.

Gio spent more than any manager in window for last 12 years

We have to move on unfit players and the very old. Ie McGregor and Davis, mb Arfield

DK19, I feel sorry for McGregor, at this stage of his career he should be on the bench as back to a good goal keeper, instead of this type of pressure he is put into. He is now too old, too slow and not fit enough. Just my opinion.
