Despite not wanting to be a club with a revolving door regarding managers, it was always going to be difficult for Gio to survive the UCL 7-1 gubbing along with struggles against Celtic. My main issue was the style of play and the fact that it looked like we weren't making any progress. Now we are faced with paying out several million on compensation unless there has been an agreement. I do not see us paying a fortune for a manager currently in employment so would be surprised if Beale is appointed despite him being favourite and lots of signs suggest it could be him. Who. Can work miracles on a small budget? Can get more out of the players we have? Can have us play with desire and pace AND A SMILE? Can get us fitter and faster and bodies out of the treatment room! I have a feeling it will be a less fashionable name. Although it hasn't worked out for Gio, we have to thank him for his part in taking us on that amazing run to the Europa League final last year.
