Is it likely MB will get in the striker needed by the start of pre season.

a certainty far as i'm aware, possibly two depending on colaks position, hopefully he stays and we have a new star striker, wouldn't rule out dykes either as an option simply because he brings something different and can defend.

You would like to think that will be a priority given the uncertainty over Roofes fitness issues and the healthy debate over Colak.
We’ve a lot of goals to replace in the side.
Tillman, Arfield and Morelos all away.
Possibly Colak.
And peoples indifference to Sakala.
Potentially 60+ goals to replace.

sakala has impressive pace and enthusiasm, little composure and skill

difficult decision if his assets outdo his limitations, personally i would take any decent offers because in his position, we need someone who can look up and spot a pass and hit a ball cleanly, , along with morelos sakala wright we had 3 players who can't control a ball, add in kent who couldn't shoot and you can see why we scored less goals and lost the league too easily, i think beales seen this.

Sakala shows decent skills at times and added to his pace that makes him a threat, surely someone can coach him to improve his finishing. For me, he just needs to calm down and take a breath before he takes his shot. If there is no forward coach at the club can we not get McCoist or Defoe or someone to work with him. Years ago we got Hateley to spend time with Novo and it helped him, why not try that again.

Roy McKay was a great striker and he would have tried to mould him into a better striker and finisher.
Never worked out the way, in fact Gio lost a bit of faith in Sakala.
Be interesting to see what happens when he probably starts on the bench again in the coming season.
I’ve said before he is better when the game is in front of him and that’s generally wide, he isn’t natural at bending runs from a more central position.

You have to admire Sakala’s enthusiasm and effort. He seems like a good personality to have in the dressing room. Unless we were offered good money for him he definitely deserves a place in the squad.

wsl, in my experience you cannot coach someone like sakala to change his poor composure, its in his make up, trying to change would be almost impossible imo, you can't change someone to strike a ball differently if its his natural way, i don't think so anyway, doesn't mean he's hopeless tho.

Defoe would be a great shout as stroker coach guy is tee total bags of enthusiasm lieable personality. He would be a great shout as a striker coach for me more than super ally who might be too big a personality to have around due to being ex manager.

Tom Thumb I don`t know what you`re experience is but I find it hard to believe that we cannot coach better finishing from Sakala . He gets into good positions he gets that wee yard of space but he loses composure and lashes at things . An experienced striker coach surely could help him. Working with Defoe improved Morelos` finishing so why not Sakala . He`s not a youngster but he is raw so we should be able to work on him. Someone mentioned Makaay but all our forwards except Colak stopped scoring when he was there so don`t think his coaching was as good as his finishing.

Wslgers their was definitely improvement in him the season gone, coaches were obviously working on his crossing and killing a long ball, hopefully they work on his finishing, if Sakala could bury them like Colak we wouldn't have him, but work on it regular and it can be improved a bit but he's never going to be a very good finisher, if worked on regular since he was a boy he could have been a very good finisher.
