Seen a few posts on twitter about major investment in Rangers, most likely crap and i'm not holding my breath but i think the Leipzig game the other day was a possible means of scouting Barrie Mckay as Leipzig seem to have gotten a little success from Burke they could be more interested in the Scottish market.

i know he never came from Scotland but he's Scottish therefore using us as a sort of feeder club as they do want to continue expanding and hope to be a major european force in the next few years. this however could mean investment for us through transfers? thoughts?

ASC-RFC1

1.) 19 Jan 2017 07:14:15
Theyre not going to be a major force in europe buying your players.

2.) 19 Jan 2017 07:23:43
Does anyone else think that Mckay will be off before January is out?

3.) 19 Jan 2017 08:10:13
Only if big money comes in. Possibly summer though, with time to hopefully spend most of the money.

4.) 19 Jan 2017 08:57:13
No why would we think that?

5.) 19 Jan 2017 10:15:31
I hope i'm wrong but he's the only Rangers player worth his salt just now and with only 18mnths to run on his contract and us being desperate for cash it puts us in a pretty vulnerable situation

6.) 19 Jan 2017 10:35:58
What have we got to offer Leipzig? One decent winger who isn't anywhere near Fosberg and is quite a distance off of Burke? Why on earth would they want us as a feeder team when our youngsters can't even get into our first team.

7.) 19 Jan 2017 14:48:50
Spoc - Do you think any of the Thanda Royal Zulu squad are good enough to play for Man City's first team? Well they are one of many of their feeder teams!

8.) 19 Jan 2017 19:07:05
You're missing the lads point Spoc

9.) 19 Jan 2017 19:06:15
Bhampot. They wouldn't be a major force buying yours either! Ahem 7 nil!

10.) 20 Jan 2017 14:04:14
id like to add that apparently Leipzig have came in with a valuation of 5-7m, after he impressed in Germany, i feel we should string it out to 10 if true

18 Jan 2017 18:24:37
Falkirk sign Fraser Aird, anyone know of a fee involved?

ASC-RFC1

1.) 18 Jan 2017 18:39:24
Apparently had his contract ripped up

2.) 18 Jan 2017 18:44:45
Mutually agreed termination of contract so another young talent who has left for nothing.

3.) 18 Jan 2017 19:18:24
I think 'young talent' is a bit strong. 'player' would have sufficed. Wages saved that can go towards someone who might actually play!

4.) 18 Jan 2017 20:58:07
Aird is 21 if Warburton does not think he is good enough for the first team then he is right to let him go. This is best for the player and the club. Who knows he could either become like Shinnie or he could just flop.

5.) 18 Jan 2017 21:08:31
Just not quite good enough at the moment. Its the fairest thing to do as he was out of contract at end of season so releasing him made it easier to get a club. Really nice statment he gave on leaving, a true Ger

6.) 18 Jan 2017 21:26:08
Good luck to the lad.

7.) 18 Jan 2017 21:55:43
Warburton doesn't seem to think that any of our young talent is good enough! This from the guy that plays Halliday every week!

I wish Aird all the best. I dare say we could have got a fee for him but it doesn't appear to be the way we do things these days.

8.) 19 Jan 2017 08:14:22
Do you think we had anyone in Canada or the states to watch him play? No chance! We have no network to speak of, still 2 years on and our infrastructure is a joke!

Aird wasn't a brilliant player the last time I saw him, he was fast, but I bet he has improved and I bet we have no real first hand experience of his time away.

9.) 19 Jan 2017 08:41:55
He is away to Falkirk, would they have given us any sort of fee? These players we are letting go aren't worth anything, so we may as well get rid of them while we can.

10.) 19 Jan 2017 08:58:23
Would rather see young players aloud to go to other clubs for free if it means they might have a chance of making a better career for themselves than sitting on the bench.

11.) 19 Jan 2017 10:31:54
Warburton is yer typical Englishman, under estimating Scottish players whilst thinking English players are the be all and end all hence him going to English lower divisions to sign players because he thinks they're better, must realise by now that's not the case

12.) 19 Jan 2017 11:27:18
To be fair, Scottish football is amateur compared with English football these days. Bigger crowds in English 4th Division than some of our "top clubs" and better wages too. Our supposed 3rd best team Aberdeen don't even have a proper training facility . Players like Aird were never good enough, so we rightly let them go. Just because a player is young, does not mean he will turn out good.

13.) 19 Jan 2017 13:58:00
Tom Walsh away too. The website says Aird help rangers win league 1 and 2. It was actually the 3rd and 2nd division.

14.) 19 Jan 2017 19:10:23
English players seem to have a far superior fitness and physique. Scottish lads are small in build ( not height ) . The have very little strength compared to English lads.

15.) 19 Jan 2017 20:49:48
3Rd and 2nd div is league 1 and 2 Albertz then it's the championship

11 Jan 2017 10:08:35
Per Mertesacker been made available for loan from arsenal, could be a potential signing

ASC-RFC1

1.) 11 Jan 2017 10:34:31
You have to be joking!

2.) 11 Jan 2017 10:36:44
Hes rotten

3.) 11 Jan 2017 10:51:45
lol better than kiernan and wilson combined but, two of the worst rangers center halves I've ever seen

4.) 11 Jan 2017 10:56:15
Pretty sure he's the slowest player on fifa lol. Wages would be rediculous.

5.) 11 Jan 2017 10:56:29
World cup winner!

6.) 11 Jan 2017 11:09:34
the slowest player on fifa? who the hen cares about fifa he's one of the most experienced cbs in football atm

7.) 11 Jan 2017 11:19:16
People that judge players on their FIFA rating don't know much about football.

8.) 11 Jan 2017 11:41:40
PM played at the very highest level yet some on here thinks he's crap - OFFS what are you on?

Sure we couldn't afford him but would grab him if given the chance. he'll most likely end up moving to a Scottish 2nd div team like Juve or Inter

9.) 11 Jan 2017 11:45:26
Think he's having a bit of a giraffe regarding fifa tbf

10.) 11 Jan 2017 13:03:59
Wow boys just a bit of banter

11.) 11 Jan 2017 13:32:54
Stephane Guivarch was a world cup winner aswell WOW WEE. big deal he's played at the highest level so has Barton, Konterman, Capucho, Emerson, Ostenstaad, Bernard, it doesn't mean a jot

12.) 11 Jan 2017 14:59:49
Can't forget Francis Jeffers too

13.) 11 Jan 2017 17:28:58
There is more chance of the celtic Stand blowing down than of us getting Mertesacker! Oh, wait a minute what have I just seen on the news; and to think they wanted to wear hard hats to Ibrox!

14.) 11 Jan 2017 20:27:33
When did Barton, Konterman, Emerson, Ostenstaad n Bernard play at the highest level 😂

15.) 11 Jan 2017 20:44:31
Well they all played in the EPL which is quite a high level is it not

16.) 11 Jan 2017 20:47:10
Obv Konterman and capucho never played in the EPL but both played in the euros and uefa cup final respectivley which is high level football

Anyone else think Toral was a standout in tonights game, played absolutely brilliant in the holding role.

ASC-RFC1

1.) 01 Mar 2017 22:00:26
He made some important contributions but also gave the ball away a couple of times.

Definitely a better performance from him though.

2.) 02 Mar 2017 08:40:43
I said weeks ago to try the boy there and got shot in flames.

3.) 02 Mar 2017 10:03:08
Toral doesn't do it for me, i thot he was awful on Fri nite and marginally better last nite

24 Feb 2017 21:34:16
Seasons finished the boards took too long to appoint a new manager were now in a fight to keep third place and the confidence will drop even more, i can only dread what they will do to us in march becausd this is a shambles the club has messed up big time.

ASC-RFC1

1.) 24 Feb 2017 21:40:22
Indecisive board - "Rome is burning. "

2.) 24 Feb 2017 21:42:47
Can't blame Murty he's said he don't want job McDowall situation again. said last week they said to get somebody in temp with a bit about them too shake up things results like this were always going too happen. murty doesn't know how to change things he's not got experience

3.) 24 Feb 2017 22:11:25
King's fault

4.) 25 Feb 2017 11:19:58
If king thinks he's putting my season ticket up in price think again.

5.) 25 Feb 2017 11:14:29
King, your silence is defening

6.) 25 Feb 2017 11:15:37
rome is in ashes

7.) 25 Feb 2017 11:15:49
We are a complete embarrassment on the pitch, what decent manager are we ever going to attract to come and work with this bunch of gutless players and a chairman who is never anywhere to be seen, this is a major crisis we are facing, absolutely skunnered with this pantomime

02 Feb 2017 16:00:14
Well before this Hearts game I honestly had my doubts about us coming away with any points and it has been worse an absolute humiliation ,the only positive i could take was that it wasn't from the edinburgh mhanks, I honestly thought the defence would have been addressed in January after some of the shockers this season and it wasn't! i'm afraid to say but this gives me a fear about the funding that's actually available for us and if we don't make it into Europe whether or not we will still be in the SPL next season, I think a huge statement must be made to the fans addressing these issues we have to think about while having no clear answers. I Hope Warburton has only been limited and that he isn't just a dud because he has had his moments and I've enjoyed some of his stay her but i'm afraid 14 wins in 30 is just NOT good enough for Rangers.

Should we maybe use the african market more? It isn't hard to believe their could be a few hidden gems not quite unearthed yet (no pun intended)

ASC-RFC1

1.) 18 Jan 2017 19:51:57
I think the big continental teams gets the best of the young african players i'd rather look at eastern europe and austrian/ swiss leagues I think there is a lot of talent around there! Someone mentioned Italian french dutch leagues but these boys want to make it in thier own leagues and probably view Scottish football as step backwards where the likes of Slovakian Hungarian etc would view a move to scotland as a ticket to english football if they make the grade

2.) 18 Jan 2017 22:37:59
So employ a scouting team

3.) 19 Jan 2017 06:49:35
I think getting non eu youngsters visas or international clearance can be difficult.

4.) 19 Jan 2017 10:02:20
Since King seems to spend more time in South Africa than he does in the UK maybe we should ask him to scout some players for us! They could't be any worse than some of the ones that we have signed!

5.) 19 Jan 2017 16:48:54
Africa have produced some cracking talent over the years and continue to at presnt. The only thing that would put me off would be the situation a lot or clubs in Europe find themselves in now. the African cup of nations! It's a critical time of the season to lose a player.

yeah kiernan is actually pretty good in the air, and you only have to watch a game without trying to pick every negative out to notice this, as for wilson, he literally has been one of the worst players in the squad this season, he has a 50p for a head and is an absolute bombscare, kiernan on the other hand only looks to be exploited when tavernier plays alongside him

i would take mertesacker as a sweeper in a back 3 any day of the week alongside kiernan and hill, would be 10x better than what we currently have, wilson is easily up there with one of the worst performers of the season in the SPL this year, he is only good at passing the ball, his awareness and pace and tackling are simply not good enough, atleast kiernan is dangerous in the air and has had some promising looking games alongside hill this season
