Rangers youngster Ryan Hardie has also joined St Mirren on loan deal. I personally really rate young Hardie and think he hasn't had that much of a chance (meaning game time for Rangers) but expect this to change next year once Miller hangs up his boots or is not offered a new contract, i personally think he could be a great player given a run in the first team in future, What is other gers opinions on this?

Alex1972

1.) 26 Jul 2016 18:59:20
Depends who the new striker is? i think he will be in the squad next season if he does well at st mirren but look what the manager has done in just over a year! hardie was out in charleston so he's obviously not good enough just now or would still be here.

2.) 26 Jul 2016 18:59:37
Yes agree Alex 1972, I was hoping to see the lad in these LC matches or against Burnley. He made a real impact and scored goals whilst on loan at Raith last season and I thought he was ready. Slightly confused that MW has expressed slightly negative view of the experience youngsters get on loan to SC compared to English Championship and Division 1, then we immediately made 2 loans to St Mirren. Assume we have agreement on game time will receive at St Mirren, and in Alex Rae I am sure will receive active support and development. Believe Hardie has great future at Gers.

3.) 26 Jul 2016 19:04:54
He's brutal. He's another player who will end up playing in the lower leagues, maybe at best get a full time contract at a championship club but that's as far as he'll go, a bit like your Ross Perrys and Robbie Crawfords.

4.) 26 Jul 2016 19:37:41
Brutal? Hahhahahaha get a grip mate, he is still a young man with bags of talent, he needs game time which he will get at St Mirren.

5.) 26 Jul 2016 19:45:55
Didn't Jordan Thompson play against Burnley last season?

He was no where near the starting eleven last season. Would love Hardie to make it at our club but like our midfield this year, there'll be competition for that striker position next season, with Waghorn, Dodoo, this season's New striker and a new striker to replace Miller.

6.) 26 Jul 2016 19:53:23
Adam and mcgregor are prime examples of biding your time, take your chance when u get it. But our youth will not get a look in as long as we sign youngsters from down south.

7.) 26 Jul 2016 20:10:59
Adam never really done much at rangers really was average at best but moved to Blackpool for peanuts then it all went well after that for the lad.

8.) 26 Jul 2016 20:24:43
Think his fitness was his main problem when he was with us he liked greggs pies haha. always could strike a ball though.

9.) 26 Jul 2016 21:09:02
And the fact he was played out of position!

10.) 26 Jul 2016 23:32:22
I think sending Hardie back in to Championship for initial 6 month spell will be good move for club and player.
The jurys still out on his ability he's looked lively and may well be a 1st team regular in future but he may also be just a championship or bottom half SPFL player so giving him a longer term loan deal and 20 appearances with St Mirren might give us all a better indication of his ability.
If he bangs in the goals then we can recall him for 2nd half of season if not we can extend the loan till end of the season and reassess our options.
Good luck to him anyway I think he will manage 10-12 goals for St Mirren if he gets a run in the side up until xmas.

11.) 26 Jul 2016 23:59:57
When we are signing young players of the quality of Rossiter etc., they really are a class up from the young Scottish players that have been on our books. That said if they are good enough I am sure that they will get their chance to prove themselves but they need to show that they have all the correct characteristics. Maybe going forward the Warburton era will provide us with the best young players in Scotland since the days of Durrant and ferguson!

12.) 27 Jul 2016 07:59:53
@albertz
There's a reason why our youth won't get a lookin as long as we keep signing from down south the players down south are over a better quality

MW thankfully wants to change that and he is starting by having teams from as young as 10 in our youth academy so now we're back to bringiotjrough proper youth and not just teens we might end up with Ferguson Adam Hutton Scott Brown and halliday.

13.) 27 Jul 2016 09:03:58
I think he has a bit on an attitude problem just like Andy Murdoch, ie thinking they are better than they are, and to be honest Hardie gives me the creeps.

14.) 27 Jul 2016 10:37:58
Yes, not as good as we had anticipated even at this early stage.

15.) 27 Jul 2016 13:05:05
He is 19 years old, and has undoubted talent. Only the absolute best players these days come into the first team and look good at that age. Most players you don't seem to see them progress and really show their capabilities until they reach 22/ 23 years old. This is the problem with us and young players in the past, we don't see them instantly become first team players by the age of 20/ 21 so we let them go, which has burned us on a few occasions.

I say we keep players like Hardie, loaning them out or even selling them with a buy back clause the way teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid do, then that way when they are truly ready for first team football and showing what they are capable of, we will begin to see the benefits.

For me it is just a physical strength thing with Hardie, he has plenty of ability but can't show it off yet because he still has to develop physically.

16.) 27 Jul 2016 13:06:00
I think Ryan going to st mirren is a great move for the boy especially with alek Ray there will be great for his development I just hope he gets a chance when he gets back good luck.

17.) 26 Jul 2016 13:11:47
Was ruined by Walters desperation to win as many titles as possible, without really caring about style, David weir says Adam was fabulous when he played with him
Tommy.

18.) 27 Jul 2016 16:12:38
mckay was brutal to people. on here aswell they are probably eating there words.

25 Jul 2016 05:46:14
MW Is wanting a descion from spurs for Dom Ball by the end of the week as he really rates the youngster but If no descion by then he is turning attentions elsewhere, but Is going to monitor his situation with Ball and spurs and could go back in for a loan move in January transfer window if needed, also the deal for Marippa is not dead and MW and Gers hope to push that one over the line by the end of the week at latest too, as for the striker position MW has his sights on 2 strikers 1 an international striker and is confident on signing one of the two before end of transfer deadline as this may take a little longer, but In Warburton we trust.

Alex1972

1.) 25 Jul 2016 11:49:21
You secretly Frank Mcparland? That's some detailed inner circle information right there.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 12:05:06
A lot of info u r a man in the know ball away on pre season so we won't get a decision this week
I don't think ball will make Spurs squad this season maybe next season so I think he will be playing for us he's only 20 not that age counts but his only experience is playing Scottish championship another year with us in the spl would further his experience I hope he's coming back to ibrox to help us.

3.) 25 Jul 2016 12:07:56
You seem to know more than he does?

4.) 25 Jul 2016 12:14:48
No kingCooper i am not FM in disguise and no need for the sarcasm or you to be patranising eirher, this is who MW Is after, whether they join isn't a foregone conclusion but It is all passed on to you and other Gers fans on good faith and solid grounds no liar here, and my source you might be thinking? well i can't say for fear of source getting fined or worse, was told i could pass the info on but On no terms to reveal anything about where it came from, just watch this space.

5.) 25 Jul 2016 13:48:43
alex 1972 got to say I hope your right bro! and if u are I wanna jump about in the circles u do lol unless its just the tea lady is your wife and she heard fae the next room lol.
just kidding mate if your right I will know that u are another reliable source.

6.) 25 Jul 2016 15:39:39
Behave yourself Alex, by the replies of some folk, they were thinking the same thing as myself (Incredibly impressed if true) . I didn't and I'm not calling you a liar. My post is merely suggesting that if this Intel is genuine (which it may well be) you know somone in the inner circle and it's incredibly impressive (yes with impressed sarcasm) Though by your snippy reply and the I'm telling yous nothing of my source attitude I'm certainly leaning towards nonsense. A simple the guy knows davie weir (or whoever) would convince most folk it may have merit. I actually hope you're genuine bud. Hard to believe when people lose their cool a bit over nothing though.

7.) 25 Jul 2016 16:23:16
Anyone herd from Kyle Lafferty, they want £2 million we are prepared to pay £500000 but we have to meet in the middle. MW said this in a interview and for MW to talk about spending money surely he has money and is using this for the striker. international strikers we have been linked with Will Grigg and Kyle Lafferty and to be fair they were at the euros and just returning from holidays so could be something in this or Is this just fans rumours or has there been any contact regarding these players. International strikers? Who's still out there on a free?

28 Aug 2015 19:56:03
Right fellow Gers before you all start with the ridicules I First Hers the rumour from a family member season ticket holder at Everton he told me about 4 Days ago there were a lot of rumours down south about a possiblity of Stevie Naismith coming back to us on loan with Everton paying most of his wages as Rangers is his prefrence as he has been told he may have to leave or go on loan, now I Was a bit spectical when hearing this but with Everton now buying yet another striker today and Naismith not getting game time before this and it will only put him down the pecking order even more, i'm Noz saying i'm Totaly convinsed but things seem to be slipping into place of what he told me so you never know? Would other Gers fans have him back if this rumour is true or would you not want him back? Thoughts please. Watp

Alex1972

1.) 28 Aug 2015 20:09:31
Wouldn't want him back and the way Davie Weir tapped him for Everton clouds my view on Weir but has Naismith not been getting a game he was playing and scored midweek

2.) 28 Aug 2015 20:36:16
He has been playin this season he is getting game time!

3.) 28 Aug 2015 20:39:19
Would never accept his return. he spent most of the time on the treatment table then couldn't wait to bail.

4.) 28 Aug 2015 21:27:21
I hope it is true. He would fit into our system a treat. He can play in a number of positions. right along the front line and the 2 wide midfield positions also. I don't hold any i'll feeling towards him whatsoever. The club was in dire straights and the players were looking out for their futures. It's a short career and it's about setting yourself up for life after football financially. I would take him back in a heartbeat and so would 99.9% of the Rangers fans. He's the type of front man we need. Full of running and scores goals. I would personally take him over Stevie May all day long but let's see what comes of the nasiy and may rumours over the next few days.

5.) 28 Aug 2015 21:41:58
Cant see him signing if he wants to still play in the scotland team maybe next , yes would take him back , he had bills to pay as well and life is short for a footballer .

6.) 28 Aug 2015 22:14:23
Alex I would not welcome him back under any circumstances, and I would imagine there are more like me,why rock the boat .

7.) 28 Aug 2015 22:27:54
No thanks , good player but left us when he could have stayed, even if it was till we got a fee for him , after all the injuries he had and rangers stood buy him , all for him self so as I said before thanks but no thanks

8.) 28 Aug 2015 22:47:37
Who judas. no chance he was was the first rat too jump ship.

9.) 28 Aug 2015 21:31:21
steven Naismith on loan would do nothing for the dressing room and I'm sure mw isn't going to pull the same old tricks out of fat Sally's book n sign an ex ger

10.) 29 Aug 2015 00:36:34
No chance.

11.) 29 Aug 2015 04:08:43
A couple of replys saying Naismith has been getting game time but if you were to check it has been all coming on as a sub apart from a rare start in the English Micky cup and now another striker bought for first Team or why buy him so the subs apperances will now probably stop and no real Player wants to sit on a bench or be a constant sub and that isn't going to do His Scotland chances anygood, I Know we are in the Scottish Championships but surely scoring goals in a Good attractive passing side in Rangers wouldn't do His Scotland chances any harm and he knows the club and weir knows all about him I Am honestly starting to think this could happen now even till January then both clubs could asses if no and can't get it over the line I Would Love to give may a chance if he would come, one of these deals I Believe Will happen before close of window unless W+W have a hidden jem in mind and its hush hush WATP

12.) 29 Aug 2015 07:22:26
Get a grip he left because we were a total shambles and it's been proved so the last 3 year's have been a total disgrace and the old board would have sold him anyway. he was quite right to get out of that shambles I would have as well he loves the gers but what was his options?? Hang about and play crap football under sally, Mr mcoist turned reasonable player's in to poor player's with his management.

13.) 29 Aug 2015 09:07:08
all have short memories do you lot not remember his press conference with whitticker no way will he be allowed through the front door never mind put on a blue shirt

14.) 29 Aug 2015 09:32:21
Don't want that rat anywhere near my team again. Him Whittaker mcgregor etc etc couldn't leave fast enough

15.) 29 Aug 2015 10:20:18
Alex1972: Wasn't happy with him, but in an ideal world I would take him back in a heartbeat, what a player he is now and what a marker it would be for us to show we can attract a player like that.

16.) 29 Aug 2015 11:14:17
Wouldn't want him or any of his ffellow rats back at ibrox they bailed I remember the press conference as alaska mentioned if they were scared about national team places or reputation why not go out on loan till we got up again I nnever want to see them with the blue of rangers on again that applies to all the rats that deserted us and now most playing lower level football in England .

17.) 29 Aug 2015 12:42:30
All this crap about could have got the club money!for what?for some crook to take it and mess our club more than he did!if they stayed nothin would have changed because we where getting run into the ground by that whyte

18.) 29 Aug 2015 14:04:21
I know people will never forgive wee naisy for leaving the way he did,,but I don't blame any of them,,every one of them were proved right by not signing for Charles green,,my god that barsteward took enough money from us without multi million pound transfer fees for the players that left,,listen it won't happen anyway but I would love naisy back in a gears shirt,,only my opinion guys!!!

19.) 29 Aug 2015 20:06:30
he left for greed he was the one who put thye rest up to it if it was left to me he would not even get inside the stadium my local rangers supporters club had a function and he was supposed to attend never turned his excuse was he forgot the same night he was out in troon and prestwick with that clown broadfoot charlie adam and his brother

20.) 30 Aug 2015 16:00:07
Martym, that's what I meant when I said why rock the boat mate.

18 Jan 2015 20:48:08
Strong rumor that Rangers are in the pipe line to offer Chris Eagles a short term contract until the end of the season with a view to a permant deal if a buyer becoms available by then after Blackpool and manager confirmed they will not be renewing his short term contract with them, apartantly we have already spoke to his representitives agent ect) but Player not too keen on playing in the second tier of Scottish football,

Alex1972

1.) 19 Jan 2015 11:14:07
Mate no cash equals no signings stop listening to stories and realise the reality if we don't act now we won't have club

2.) 19 Jan 2015 18:27:21
Think money would be better spend keeping lights on, and keeping the Wolves from the door from a while longer??

3.) We've nae cash mate to buy anybody. this is another pie in the sky rumour I think

4.) Where did this so called strong rumour come from then we can hardly afford to operate day by day yet you think we will sign chris eagles haha ok

5.) 27 Jan 2015 15:47:50
we cannae afford undersoil heating getting switched on for only 4 hours, get real

Ive been watching Reangers for many years now and this team has to be by far the worst Rangers team ever, what worries me more than that is what Good Manager is going to Manage them? unless there is the funds for a massive clear out of 90% of the squad and Money to buy much better players, which i doubt there is, this is all becoming the biggest embarrestment of all time both on and off the field, and i for one am getting really concerned for the only team i have ever loved and followed, All us fans deserve much Much better.

Alex1972

1.) 20 Feb 2017 03:20:25
I seem to recall watching a pretty awful Rangers team in the early 80's. Lucky to finish 3rd or 4th. in time it will improve. The good times will come again but may take some time. Be patient

2.) 20 Feb 2017 07:35:26
Unfortunately, the sense of entitlement with regard to success at our club will hinder us moving forward. When we found ourselves in division 3 we should've used it as an opportunity to get rid of all the overpaid dross and build a team from murray park. Instead, we paid big wages to black, sandaza, kyle, cribari etc and continue to do so with the current crop. We have an exciting bunch of 15-18 year olds right now. Exposing them to first team football would be brutal for a couple of years but you would see the boys progress much quicker than their peers and become better footballers in the long run.

3.) 20 Feb 2017 16:24:17
Wilson I can see your point but physically that age group can not compete at this level, look how Dundee, Hearts etc bully us. if it was young boys they would run over them and probably knock these young boys confidence for six. they need to be allowed to mature yes expose them to the first team, but slowly bringing them on when the game is won.

our problem is the game is never won we can't score we have two full backs who can't defend we always blame the centre back who I agree are not the best who have worn a blue shirt but look at Sun Tav missing for first goal last Sunday.

Wallace missing for Morton goal both time way up the park we need to defend as a team on Sunday midfield never picked up Ohara, he just wandered through midfield into our box. very poor as for up front we just don't score goals.

played 25 games, goal difference is only +5 we must start taking chances but to expose young boys to the team when we are in crisis, I don't think will help them in development.

24 Aug 2016 07:07:32
Just a thought if we haven't brought in a new CB by Friday and Crooks isn't fit then why don't we give Hodson a run at CB alongside Wilson or put Hodson on the left and Wallace in at CB? i personally would have the pairing of Hodson and Wilson as i feel he is a better defender than Kieran and any other CB we have got in just now and has more pace than the other 3 CB n yes I know he's a natural right / left back but As an international defender i'm sure he could do more than a job, this could be the answer we are looking for if MW Would drop Kieran, what do other Bears think on this options either till we get a new CB or full time alongside Crooks when fit? thoughts please.

Alex1972

1.) 24 Aug 2016 08:28:14
I feel hodson is a decent defender at full back but for me would not be an option at CB particularly due to his height and physical presence but understand your idea of trying someone new at CB. This position has been discussed frequently and rightly so. Looking forward to see what next couple days bring and if we do sign senderos I cannot see him playing straight away due to fitness but stranger things have happened. I think MW is still looking elsewhere other than senderos but feel Senderos should be added also.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 11:16:58
Wallace is a decent CB but there's no way Hodson can play there. If the transfer window closes and we are still left the Wilson/ Kiernan partnership then all the good work done in the transfer market will have been in vain. Let's get this position sorted Rangers before it's too late.
A new commanding CB should have been brought in months ago so he had time to bed in for the old firm game. Instead we've had to watch shaky defensive performances undermining our good attacking play. MW has missed a trick here.

24 Aug 2016 06:49:46
Give hodson a run at cb alongside wilson can't be any worse than Kieran what do fellow gers think?

Alex1972

1.) 24 Aug 2016 08:28:19
hodson is probably the smallest player in the squad.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 17:44:21
Aye because all 5ft 4 off him will sort out the problems in the air. Honestly some folk don't have a clue. Why don't we stick Hill up top he scored 2 last time he could be our new jelavic.

24 Aug 2016 06:43:32
Just a thought fellow bears if we don't get a new CB before Friday and Until Crooks is fit then why not g.

Alex1972

1.) 24 Aug 2016 07:22:40
Lol sorry pressed send by mistake. Just a thought fellow bears if we don't get a new CB before Friday and Until Crooks is fit then why not give Hodson a chance and a game at CB alongside Wilson, better defender than Kieran and has a bit of pace and as an international defender should be able to adapt to CB no problem.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 09:01:45
Wallace could be a better option at cb rather than hodson, but still needs to be in beside a big dominant ball winner which we don't have. but whole team needs to defend better as a unit!

You said that he was leaving before his 16th Birthday and then followed up by if he leaves, so Which one is it? you kind of contradicted yourself there, also i'm am sure unless the rules have changed in the last week or so you can't sign a professional contract until your 16th Birthday so Again that isn't possible which makes me think your guessing all though we all know he is Joining Chelsea by now or should I say Chelsea reserves under 20s or MK Dons on loan cause we all know he won't get anywhere near the Chelsea first team and surely himself and father both know this too but Unfortunately as usually its all about the money as both Gilmour and his family have had there minds turned by money houses and cars all put in on the deal just to rote in the reserves, it s a joke and getting annoying now taking are and other Scottish Clubs youngsters when they are nowhere ready for there first team, Why?

Does people not check official clubs websites before posting on here Toral signed a loctarive contract with Arsenal just before he left to come on loan to us FACT! so Gers won't be signing Toral any time soon unless its on loan again.

Read my comment further up in detail for a full explanation on this but Short version yes He is Ger through and through but His soon to be wife wants to well her preference is to stay in Aberdeen or England and Bring up there family there and not the goldfish bowl of Glasgow where problems can be caused because of the oldfirm devide and she dosent want to go through this at schools for young kids etc him single or no family would walk over hot coal fire down to Ibrox, no this cause i know the family his niece plays in the same team as my daughter Aberdeen laddies my daughter also respresents Scotland and She is only 17 and Jack often watched the home games on a Sunday if Aberdeen wasn't playing that day.

Sandy in Royal Blue, i to know him and his family really well and what you said is i can confirm to others 100% correct and as for others picking up he's Due to marry very soon and his mrs Might not want to leave i'm possitive he ment like i know her family but He also ment if she was to leave Aberdeen it would be her prefrence to have kids and move and settle in England and Have a quieter life as they are very private private couple and don't need the spotlight like the problems the goldfish bowl Glasgow can bring at times for players and wifes that come from the Oldfirm devide especially the manky mob, but Of a good enough contract is offered he will come unless his future wife really drags her heels but Can't see her do that so i'm pretty sure knowing him especially if cotract offered would sign and Join, Gers man at heart too wich always helps. also

No thanks! He is too injury prone for my liking no more risks please and that's a big risk and Andy1872 he normally plays on the wing as a winger or in wide midfield if playing a more defensive system like they did against us with 5 in midfield.

Thorn76 it does when age catches up on you, should be looking at early 30s at the oldest. Would of been intersting to see what PS was capable of instead, or wish we could sign and have both, do this by letting Hill go into coaching if possible.

DOIGER Totally agree with you on young Hardie infact i just summited a post on Rumour site saying basically the same thing amongst other things and some News, just waiting on it being reviewed and hopefully put up, i personally would of Kept Hardie in the first place ahead of Miller and before waghorns injury aswell, i know he has done a lot for us but Hardie should of been ahead of him with Miller coming off bench in certain games.

Excpect an anoncement in the next 48-72hrs saying Barton signed for gers, deal is being thrashed through as we speak, Burnley are trying to pull the plug on the deal for him joining gers by willing now to offer him a 2 year deal instead of 1 only thing that Could change bartons mind but Deal is basically over the line, welcome aboard barton one of the people, #.
