We can all thank the real reason DM hasn't taken the Rangers Job, The Media and everybody pundits) having to much to say, he's had a real bad taste of it especially in the last few weeks and he knows joining Rangers it would just get a hundred times worse and he's decided he would rather live without it as his family would also get dragged into it, also the time and messing about our board took to finally approach Aberdeen for him didn't go down well at all either! how do i know this? i live in Aberdeen but come from a mad Rangers Family and have supported them for 40 years, and i have a family member who is a grade 2 offical Refree who knows DM well and talks to him on quite a regular basis. d

1.) 08 Dec 2017 09:54:16
Next. DM decided to stay good luck to him. Plenty of options. If Murty had beat Dundee and Hamilton he would have job by now. We are in safe hands with Murty. Why the rush when most likely have little to spend on players in Jan anyway. Half the support didn't want DM anyway. Let's get the right person and if it takes until next year so be it.

2.) 08 Dec 2017 09:55:43
Media my backside, the only people to blame are that useless excuse of a board!

3.) 08 Dec 2017 14:15:39
DM has stated he is happy at Aberdeen. Who's to say he would have joined 5 weeks ago? He's made his bed and as a man he has to deal with the regret if any. He didn't want the job so now time to forget and move on.

4.) 08 Dec 2017 13:07:35
Stop being paranoid and behaving like Celtic fans with your conspiracy theories about the media, it’s embarrassing.

5.) 08 Dec 2017 16:36:15
How could he have been approached 5 weeks ago? It’s already clear that as our previous manager was still on Garden Leave, we were unable to progress appointing a new manager until either we terminated that contract (incurring a significant financial outlay) or Pedro seeks to cancel his contract by moving to a new appointment, which happened on Saturday 2nd December. I wish everyone would stick to the facts, before slaying the board in respect of the process they followed.

Surely seeking amicable terms with the previous manager and back room staff, saving money which can be invested in the new manager or playing staff is credit to the Board?

The Mcinnes saga is embarrassing, but probably linked to him personally feeing loyalty to his current chairman and his preference to work without the involvement of a director of Football, as well as the addition of the pressure he inherits as the manager of such a big club that is still rebuilding

He’s made his decision, we move on, Murty is a safe pair of hands for now - let the Board take their time and we will eventually get the right man for the job

6.) 08 Dec 2017 20:28:19
Good post Bearnecessitie

7.) 08 Dec 2017 21:26:43
the facts are simple, rangers asked to speak to dm, aberdeen refused, dm then declined to even speak to rangers. he has his reasons, anything we think it is is purely speculation. maybe he thought he didn't want it since half the fans didn't want him. maybe the risk of failure is too much. remember he also knows how hostile us fans get if result aren't going our way. it can't be wages or what's in th transfer kitty because he didn't discuss those. matter closed move on.

8.) 09 Dec 2017 02:57:45
I've not been on here for months so I'm not your usual sniper. Admittedly I don't appear in peace either.
All this official/ unofficial nonsense please give it a rest.
Media wise I'd say he has been shoehorned. There was a real chance due to that. He probably considered. Come on though lads. IF a few days ago he said F it that wouldn't of sold papers would it? He didn't have to sit directly with any agent. Unofficially he could of sat with or talked to any rangers man that was connected for a casual conversation. He would of asked the right questions, the ones that aren't openly talked about. Made his decision with that non publicised info and said no. Thought he was a shoo-in. The growth and projection figures of the accounts and the vitality of that hinge clearly didn't wash so he walked away.

9.) 09 Dec 2017 08:56:57
So bear necessities your saying pedro walked away with no payment, 3 years left on the deal. So our last 2 managers have walked without a penny, lucky break there!

10.) 09 Dec 2017 11:22:26
I don’t have factual info re the severance arrangements Isle of Mull, but he was on Garden leave - so on full pay, and still technically in the post of Rangers Manager. He then took a new job, which would suggest he would be the one responsible for terminating the contract, as he would have to have resigned, so on those terms I can’t see why we would have had to pay anything, other than basic severance - I would expect this was something Pedro and the board agreed in an amicable fashion, that he would step away, remain under contract until he secured new employment

11.) 10 Dec 2017 09:42:25
alex 1972,
bang on he decided with his MRS.
CANT DO IT
forget all the other bull

04 Dec 2017 10:21:38
DM to definitely be our next manager by the end of next week with Strachan to be the sheeps new manager. all but confirmed just compensation to be sorted out with the sheep looking for £750,000 to realise DM and his assistant.

Alex1972

09 Nov 2017 08:52:18
Advocaat to be the new Rangers Manager for a second time and not Derek Mcines, representives are talking to Rangers and will be free to join on the end of November once his Dutch contract expires, There hasn't even been any contact between Rangers and Mcines wich in my opinion is a pity as i would definitely prefer Del Mcines, i'm not a great fan of ex managers coming back but Its looking to be true as he has been staying and looking at homes in Glasgow while Advocate has been over with the Dutch squad i also heard hopefully its made up rumours but came from quite a reliable source but hoping its a bookies ploy and may be the next big name Favourite or second favourite to get us to spend more money on This saga. who would fellow bears prefer DA or DEL M, thoughts please.

Alex1972

1.) 09 Nov 2017 09:28:08
I can't see it happening but logically it would make sense, no compensation required to bring him in. They would need to make funds available to the wee general I would imagine. Time will tell who the manager is going to be, until then its just talk.

2.) 09 Nov 2017 09:33:59
Advocaat

3.) 09 Nov 2017 09:36:49
I'd love that but I thought he was retiring

4.) 09 Nov 2017 10:01:41
no chance, advocaat has made his millions. He'll retire after holland games

5.) 09 Nov 2017 10:17:04
Still think either McInnes or Murty.

6.) 09 Nov 2017 10:41:33
It won't be Advocaat. He apparently told his wife Sunderland was his last job, then took the Holland job. He will almost definitely retire. Apart from that, last time he was in charge he had a significantly better transfer budget than we have now.

7.) 09 Nov 2017 12:38:00
Yeah he's done his time and what a time the guy has had. Great manager.

8.) 09 Nov 2017 16:49:31
What if Advocaat came in til end of season with Graeme Murty under his wing? Surely DA and DK are best of buddies so he might be willing to help him out?

9.) 10 Nov 2017 05:43:25
New to this, but the wee general did say he left Scotland to early! I do think he is in with a shout of the job! But not at the moment, think they will keep murty till end of season,

10.) 10 Nov 2017 06:17:39
Is this the same advocaat that has just stated mcinnes is the right man for the job? Loved watching us under advocaat but sadly we simply do not have the funds for players that we used to

28 Jun 2017 17:50:37
Contrary to what the papers say there has still not been an agreement between Norwich and Rangers regarding signing Dorrans, more mrdia talk am afraid fellow Gers.

Alex1972

1.) 28 Jun 2017 18:19:26
I shall wait until I see him holding a rangers scarf before I listen to anything to be fair

2.) 28 Jun 2017 18:19:27
how do you know this?

3.) 28 Jun 2017 20:17:19
Because the 4 papers that covered the story they all had there sources down as from the express, now the express jumped the gun a bit to quick with this Dorrans story and therefore with them making the mistake and thr other 3 papers The Sun etc who all have there source as the express that's why they have it wrong to, but Hopefully things could be changing as we speak and he does become a Ger asap and Norwich and Rangers can finally come to an agreement aas they are not far away.

4.) 28 Jun 2017 22:17:30
Took quick look at local Norwich press earlier and supporter comments. They seem to think deal Isis done and subject to personal terms being agreed between the player and rangers. He seems to play to mixed reviews, being considered a journeyman player by many fans.

5.) 28 Jun 2017 22:55:00
Dorrans will be a ger. Everyone knows it's coming. End of

6.) 29 Jun 2017 00:56:28
First and foremost I'm a ger but my English team are Norwich dorrans deal is done will be unveiled within 48 hours also he's a cracking player.

7.) 29 Jun 2017 07:52:21
I'm getting sick and tired of dorrans this and dorrans that if norwich want stick dorrans up there arse if norwich want and rangers player I hope we take the piss out of them I think Pedro should just move on and go for someone else end off

8.) 29 Jun 2017 10:45:13
If not done over next couple of days let's move on and look somewhere else

9.) 30 Jun 2017 11:02:17
Maybe we could try spending what he is worth 1.5million, and he is worth that A Scotland international with 2 years left on his contract, how many times are we going to penny pinch whenit comes to Scottish/ British Players and then normally loes out on the player altogether, just aswell he's a Rangers man or he would of got sick of waiting then went elsewhere the same goes for Walker the exact same thing penny pinching when we have paid full money for the other non British Players that we have signed, I mean 4 different offers for Dorrans the first offer under £500,000 O mean its getting an embarrestment now cause this has been going on now not just this season but A few seasons and many Transfer Windows Just look at the Scott Allan Saga and many more that's been the exact same. £1.5million For Dorrans and £800,000 to 1million For Walker is Fair and is what should be paid if we really want to sign these players IMO.

26 Jul 2016 18:46:12
Rangers youngster Ryan Hardie has also joined St Mirren on loan deal. I personally really rate young Hardie and think he hasn't had that much of a chance (meaning game time for Rangers) but expect this to change next year once Miller hangs up his boots or is not offered a new contract, i personally think he could be a great player given a run in the first team in future, What is other gers opinions on this?

Alex1972

1.) 26 Jul 2016 18:59:20
Depends who the new striker is? i think he will be in the squad next season if he does well at st mirren but look what the manager has done in just over a year! hardie was out in charleston so he's obviously not good enough just now or would still be here.

2.) 26 Jul 2016 18:59:37
Yes agree Alex 1972, I was hoping to see the lad in these LC matches or against Burnley. He made a real impact and scored goals whilst on loan at Raith last season and I thought he was ready. Slightly confused that MW has expressed slightly negative view of the experience youngsters get on loan to SC compared to English Championship and Division 1, then we immediately made 2 loans to St Mirren. Assume we have agreement on game time will receive at St Mirren, and in Alex Rae I am sure will receive active support and development. Believe Hardie has great future at Gers.

3.) 26 Jul 2016 19:04:54
He's brutal. He's another player who will end up playing in the lower leagues, maybe at best get a full time contract at a championship club but that's as far as he'll go, a bit like your Ross Perrys and Robbie Crawfords.

4.) 26 Jul 2016 19:37:41
Brutal? Hahhahahaha get a grip mate, he is still a young man with bags of talent, he needs game time which he will get at St Mirren.

5.) 26 Jul 2016 19:45:55
Didn't Jordan Thompson play against Burnley last season?

He was no where near the starting eleven last season. Would love Hardie to make it at our club but like our midfield this year, there'll be competition for that striker position next season, with Waghorn, Dodoo, this season's New striker and a new striker to replace Miller.

6.) 26 Jul 2016 19:53:23
Adam and mcgregor are prime examples of biding your time, take your chance when u get it. But our youth will not get a look in as long as we sign youngsters from down south.

7.) 26 Jul 2016 20:10:59
Adam never really done much at rangers really was average at best but moved to Blackpool for peanuts then it all went well after that for the lad.

8.) 26 Jul 2016 20:24:43
Think his fitness was his main problem when he was with us he liked greggs pies haha. always could strike a ball though.

9.) 26 Jul 2016 21:09:02
And the fact he was played out of position!

10.) 26 Jul 2016 23:32:22
I think sending Hardie back in to Championship for initial 6 month spell will be good move for club and player.
The jurys still out on his ability he's looked lively and may well be a 1st team regular in future but he may also be just a championship or bottom half SPFL player so giving him a longer term loan deal and 20 appearances with St Mirren might give us all a better indication of his ability.
If he bangs in the goals then we can recall him for 2nd half of season if not we can extend the loan till end of the season and reassess our options.
Good luck to him anyway I think he will manage 10-12 goals for St Mirren if he gets a run in the side up until xmas.

11.) 26 Jul 2016 23:59:57
When we are signing young players of the quality of Rossiter etc., they really are a class up from the young Scottish players that have been on our books. That said if they are good enough I am sure that they will get their chance to prove themselves but they need to show that they have all the correct characteristics. Maybe going forward the Warburton era will provide us with the best young players in Scotland since the days of Durrant and ferguson!

12.) 27 Jul 2016 07:59:53
@albertz
There's a reason why our youth won't get a lookin as long as we keep signing from down south the players down south are over a better quality

MW thankfully wants to change that and he is starting by having teams from as young as 10 in our youth academy so now we're back to bringiotjrough proper youth and not just teens we might end up with Ferguson Adam Hutton Scott Brown and halliday.

13.) 27 Jul 2016 09:03:58
I think he has a bit on an attitude problem just like Andy Murdoch, ie thinking they are better than they are, and to be honest Hardie gives me the creeps.

14.) 27 Jul 2016 10:37:58
Yes, not as good as we had anticipated even at this early stage.

15.) 27 Jul 2016 13:05:05
He is 19 years old, and has undoubted talent. Only the absolute best players these days come into the first team and look good at that age. Most players you don't seem to see them progress and really show their capabilities until they reach 22/ 23 years old. This is the problem with us and young players in the past, we don't see them instantly become first team players by the age of 20/ 21 so we let them go, which has burned us on a few occasions.

I say we keep players like Hardie, loaning them out or even selling them with a buy back clause the way teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid do, then that way when they are truly ready for first team football and showing what they are capable of, we will begin to see the benefits.

For me it is just a physical strength thing with Hardie, he has plenty of ability but can't show it off yet because he still has to develop physically.

16.) 27 Jul 2016 13:06:00
I think Ryan going to st mirren is a great move for the boy especially with alek Ray there will be great for his development I just hope he gets a chance when he gets back good luck.

17.) 26 Jul 2016 13:11:47
Was ruined by Walters desperation to win as many titles as possible, without really caring about style, David weir says Adam was fabulous when he played with him
Tommy.

18.) 27 Jul 2016 16:12:38
mckay was brutal to people. on here aswell they are probably eating there words.

We should never spend what other clubs want on players if we had bid 1.5 for Dorrans and 1 for walker they would have wanted more

2.) 30 Jun 2017 17:52:00
What a load of pish! Pedro clearly values Dorrans at less than what Norwich want. He will either walk away or negotiate.

It's all part of life.

28 Jun 2017 17:56:41
Contrary to what the Papers (media) have said Norwich and Rangers have not come to an agreement regarding Dorrans signing for Rangers, the rest of the papers jumped on the story after the express anounced it but They got it wrong so It hasn't happened yet cfellow Bears but Hopefully Rangers are working on changing this as we speak.

Alex1972

1.) 28 Jun 2017 19:49:24
I reckon theve got him and hopefully announce tomorrow, just hope we turn up tomorrow night and batter this mob be nice 5 or 6 but would take 1 lol

2.) 28 Jun 2017 20:16:04
Where did the Dorrans info come from? If this does go Pete Tong what other options do you think we should go for?

3.) 28 Jun 2017 20:25:45
Fake News, Bad!

18 Jun 2017 20:53:11
Caixinha has revealed in an interview with Portuguese newspaper, O Jogo, that Gauld was offered to Rangers. He was suggested to us on a loan, but I don't thignk we should have more than 2 loanees for that position and we're already covered, " Caixinha said to O Jogo (printed edition; page 19) He wasn't needed, even if we recognize his lot of quality and competence.

Alex1972

1.) 18 Jun 2017 22:16:25
Now that should put all Gaul romurs to bed now and let's concentrate on getting walker and Dorrins and finish the final pieces of the jigsaw, let's go allout to get them to and forget Gauld Naismith and Lafferty hutton etc etc

2.) 18 Jun 2017 23:18:49
Read that Pedro has said he can see as many as FOURTEEN players leave Ibrox! Was wondering after the 8 that we pretty much were sure was on the list who could the other 6 be?
Heres my 8. Kiernan. Halliday. Forrester.
O'halloran. Windass. Crooks. Garner and Waghorn.
Do we think that Pedro was talking about some of the Younger lads? Burt. Rudden etc?
If he's thinking 14 then Holt and Dodoo's future may lay elsewhere. Thoughts.

3.) 19 Jun 2017 01:25:05
Im sure it's a total of 14 including the four who have already gone senderos hill and two loans that would leave hodson and dodoo to ad to your list to make the 14 i think.

4.) 19 Jun 2017 06:49:18
Garners already sold.

Ive been watching Reangers for many years now and this team has to be by far the worst Rangers team ever, what worries me more than that is what Good Manager is going to Manage them? unless there is the funds for a massive clear out of 90% of the squad and Money to buy much better players, which i doubt there is, this is all becoming the biggest embarrestment of all time both on and off the field, and i for one am getting really concerned for the only team i have ever loved and followed, All us fans deserve much Much better.

Alex1972

1.) 20 Feb 2017 03:20:25
I seem to recall watching a pretty awful Rangers team in the early 80's. Lucky to finish 3rd or 4th. in time it will improve. The good times will come again but may take some time. Be patient

2.) 20 Feb 2017 07:35:26
Unfortunately, the sense of entitlement with regard to success at our club will hinder us moving forward. When we found ourselves in division 3 we should've used it as an opportunity to get rid of all the overpaid dross and build a team from murray park. Instead, we paid big wages to black, sandaza, kyle, cribari etc and continue to do so with the current crop. We have an exciting bunch of 15-18 year olds right now. Exposing them to first team football would be brutal for a couple of years but you would see the boys progress much quicker than their peers and become better footballers in the long run.

3.) 20 Feb 2017 16:24:17
Wilson I can see your point but physically that age group can not compete at this level, look how Dundee, Hearts etc bully us. if it was young boys they would run over them and probably knock these young boys confidence for six. they need to be allowed to mature yes expose them to the first team, but slowly bringing them on when the game is won.

our problem is the game is never won we can't score we have two full backs who can't defend we always blame the centre back who I agree are not the best who have worn a blue shirt but look at Sun Tav missing for first goal last Sunday.

Wallace missing for Morton goal both time way up the park we need to defend as a team on Sunday midfield never picked up Ohara, he just wandered through midfield into our box. very poor as for up front we just don't score goals.

played 25 games, goal difference is only +5 we must start taking chances but to expose young boys to the team when we are in crisis, I don't think will help them in development.

You are all looking really daft now when Andy Told us all that he had Intel and info that DM wasn't coming this morning, maybe instead of jumping on people's back thinking yous know better yous will all think twice in future after all imo it couldn't of been gash or pish cause he was the only one that called it wich leads me to believe he did have real Intel unlike most others that do just talk utter gash, also how many more times is our Board and Club going to make us look like a shambles and don't know what we are doing? we've had 6 weeks to get this right and blown it as usual just like our transfers and missing out on players and so called Gers fans that were dying to join us only for the board to mess that up aswell!

For me Rossiter is far too injury prone and i think Liverpool knew this as well or they would of fought a lot harder to keep him, how he passed his medical at Rangers beets me? i think we have been burned here like we have with other before, just glad we didn't pay a big fee for him like we did Daniel Prodan etc etc but He will be on good wages, hope i am wrong but Its just injury after injury, i think there is more problems than we know of.

Why we messed them about with what just the 4 offers to get to what they asked for the player in the first place, if you ask me its our penny pinching approach on Scottish players as usual that has taken all this time and infact its been us that's messed them about, we should of just paid them the £1.5mil from the start or second bid and he would of been signed a long time ago, we do this all the time yet we pay top money for the foreign players that have come in but don't do the same with British/ Scottish players, just look at our past on this aswell its not just this season others aswell. But Really hope that is finally going to be deal done now and move on and pay proper money for walker and a new keeper imo and that would be a great squad

Don't really agree with your point Jaws. as for Murty he knew it was and he was supposed to be a short term fix the interim manager and therefore he knew he never had anything at all to lose and was on a win, win situation, as no great things was expected from him. it would be totally different if he was offered and given the job on a full-time basis. and imo, i don't think he would cope or be our manager for long.

If you play just one game or even just a 2 minute sub appearance for a club then you are cup tied for the rest of the competition, that's the way it has always worked before, so Yes Walker would be Cup tied for the remainder of the Betfred Cup if he joined us or any other Scottish Club.
