Docherty to Shrewsbury 1 year Loan - done deal. Hope he does well down there and comes back the better for it.

1.) 08 Aug 2018 15:24:15
I'm surprised that he hasn't been able to convince SG that he can play a part this season, but somehow Halliday has managed it. Good luck to him.

{Ed039's Note - it came out quite early that SG was impressed with Halliday)

2.) 08 Aug 2018 15:43:49
Not sure you can compare Docherty to Halliday. Docherty needs regular first team football to continue his development, halliday is a seasoned pro who can fill in when injuries dictate, and also play several positions.

3.) 08 Aug 2018 15:54:52
Halliday doesn't half get some stick from the supporters, and it's completely unjust. He's a good squad player who can come in and do a job in a few positions. He's got a great attitude and isn't afraid of a tackle. He also loves the club. SG clearly has this opinion also so wouldn't it be great if people got off his case and backed him when he plays.

As for Docherty, yeah he's got far more talent and potential than Halliday. That's why he's being allowed to go on loan and carry on learning by playing first team football. Two players at different stages in their careers with different things to offer. Good luck to both.

4.) 08 Aug 2018 16:25:00
Good post gooner and a lot of sense unlike those halliday bashers that don't see the big picture.

5.) 08 Aug 2018 16:46:57
What's the big picture halliday might love the club and can in theory play a number of positions but he isn't good enough in any of the positions and the sooner he leaves the quicker we can move on to a better quality team.

6.) 08 Aug 2018 16:49:17
Just because you love the club and like a tackle doesn’t mean you should be playing for rangers. Halliday’s second touch usually is a tackle! He gets stick because he simply isn’t good enough. I’d much rather have a younger player coming through than Halliday who hasn’t shown anything since being in the top flight that suggests he's cut out for it.

7.) 08 Aug 2018 17:25:45
End of day SG rates Halliday, nearly twenty players out since start of last season, well done mark Allen, I include players we had on loan that so many want us to sign.

8.) 08 Aug 2018 17:43:28
Halliday is happy to be a bit part player and sit on the bench mostly to be a squad player- Docherty isn’t, he wants to play and develop that’s the difference! These two players can’t be compared.

9.) 08 Aug 2018 18:35:34
Geocaching they can be compared, u r right re Halliday, but he can provide cover on occasion
Docherty will be the better player for loan.

10.) 08 Aug 2018 18:41:30
I’m not so sure Stevie does rate Halliday tbh basically Wallace and Johns have been injured all season and he uses Halliday as a back up left back.
The fact he is a Bluenose won’t do him any harm either as Stevie G knows the value of having that type of influence in the changing room so it is win win keeping him at this stage. Personally I think he will go to Livingston or Dundee sort of level on loan or kept as back up at v best now Johns is returning to fitness to challenge our new signing Barisic for LB role.
I’m not surprised Docherty was allowed to go and develop further especially if we allowed Holt to go who is more consistent.

11.) 08 Aug 2018 23:54:23
Jboy21, I never said Docherty wouldn’t be a better player for the loan- I’m hoping majorly that he is! My point is just that- we need to let Doc go on loan because he won’t get the game time he needs with us, he’s young, enthusiasticac and wants to play every game- SG can’t keep him happy sitting on a bench as a squad player! Halliday on the other hand has been for a few seasons now a squad player happy to play a bit part- this is the reason the 2 players can’t be compared! Doc wants to progress and Halliday is content being part of the squad.

12.) 09 Aug 2018 03:44:26
Guys, Haliday is a decent squad member, versatile, a true blue local lad that will prove an excellent help to all the new players and staff
Trust in Stevie G 👍💙⚽♥️.

Isherwood signed 2 year contract @ Bradford after month long trial. Be interesting to see how the boy gets on. Hopefully not a young talent slipping through the net, but happy if we get Katic and Goldson.

1.) 12 Jun 2018 16:41:01
Katic 4 yr deal

2.) 12 Jun 2018 18:36:11
Defence taking shape, midfield taking shape, cannot wait to see new strike force.

3.) 12 Jun 2018 21:45:07
Mols 73 - any idea who will be our new strike force?

4.) 12 Jun 2018 22:46:22
If Isherwood has a good season with Bradford I'm sure he will stay on his radar

5.) 13 Jun 2018 17:12:59

6.) 13 Jun 2018 17:13:18
This is more like it Rangers!

Been saying for weeks we should be scouring other leagues for up and coming talent!

19 Apr 2018 15:49:14
Not sure it's Rangers related but just met Claudio Ranieri on Campbell St in Glasgow. He got in to a Chauffeur driven Mercedes - hopefully no link but thought I would share.

1.) 19 Apr 2018 16:01:05
Are we talking about Campbell st maryhill, as I'm more worried he's trying to score a bag mate lol

2.) 19 Apr 2018 16:40:45
Must have been his stunt double in France today that took training and done the press conference?

3.) 19 Apr 2018 16:49:36
hopefully no link you say

that would be sensational

4.) 19 Apr 2018 17:07:47
This is a rangers rumour site, you must be looking for the Rangers lies site.

31 Jan 2018 17:20:29
Rangers make bid for young guy from Fleetwood apparently - Davante Cole
Guessing we are going to cash in on Morelos and can't blame the club. Just hope we put sell on clause in to contract.

15 Jan 2018 14:36:27
SSN - Martin loan deal agreed.

1.) 15 Jan 2018 18:54:27
Another unbeleivable it must be the dark side that's doing it

2.) 15 Jan 2018 20:26:06
Unbelievably good business so far in transfer window given our budget constraints.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 13:51:33
decent bye Alves or Cardoso

Morelos red downgraded to a yellow.

30 Dec 2017 14:31:43
As much as it's imperative we bring in a few new faces, Murty would do well to hold on to both Tav and Wes in this transfer window. The Championship vultures are circling.

Windass i'd be happy to part with as well as Alves, Pena and Herrera

Where would we be without both Bates and Mcrorie though - good to see the Academy paying off at last.

1.) 30 Dec 2017 15:06:52
It was good to see Bates get a chance
although a few have slated him recently
just wish some of our fans would realise
we have a good few young ones that need
our support not abuse as they are proving
giving a chance they are our future

2.) 30 Dec 2017 15:23:07
Need to keep Tav. If Russell Martin coming put him at right back and Tav right mid field. Windass is not rangers material. Kenny Maclean into left midfield. Get rid of Windass -he is too light weight for us. Would take Naismith to partner and support Moreles up front. Mexicans should be sold not suited to Scottish Football.

3.) 30 Dec 2017 15:38:18
I've not been sure of Bates up to now tbh, however I thought he was magnificent today. Very, very impressed with the lad. Apparently he is a great trainer and a really good guy. Also? How good were Tav and Candeias down their left? Tierney must have thought the final whistle was like sweet music as our guys constantly ripped him a new one. Not convinced by his reputation or his valuation. He can be got at as shown today and in the CL. Then again everybody knows this - reference bids submitted. Wonder if big Mutton thinks he is still the best left back in Britain? Lol 😂😂😂

4.) 30 Dec 2017 17:04:22
Tav and wes are rangers players and not going anywhere anytime soon, if we are to get anywhere why would we sell? Celtic don’t sell to championship sides

07 Dec 2017 13:18:25
Sky sports reporting confirmation on future of Mcinnes by end of day #donedeal welcome back to the most success club in the world Derek. Here's hoping you can take us forward.

1.) 07 Dec 2017 16:24:04
How could he possibly take forward "the worlds most successful club"?

23 Oct 2017 21:14:10
Not a rumour as such, but if Pedro doesn't turn things around quickly, and his time is up, who would we like to see come in?

I see Harry Redknapp has stated today that he'd be interested in the Scotland job, but have thought for a while now that someone like him could be what we need at Ibrox

1.) 24 Oct 2017 18:08:33
Harry would be brilliant but won't happen no doubt we will go down the cheap route

22 Jul 2017 22:26:17
Heard at game today that Walker deal to be completed next week. Fee of 750k plus add ons.

1.) 23 Jul 2017 08:17:05
Let's hope so.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 13:13:45
If Walker was to sign who do we think he would replace from yesterdays line up?

Reported that a fee of £2m for a year loan deal? . surely that means playing the guy, so looks like there will be some changes at the back, as we won’t lay out that fee as a back up player to Nico and Goldson.

Think our board have already shown their resolve and intent after the last minute bids for Tav. It’s a non story till it reaches 10+ mil.

Lafferty or Morelos being discussed a lot if he comes, but on Saturday Laff actually occupied the space currently being filled by Ejaria in a blue jersey. I can’t see why he couldn’t fill that spot for us in a number of games this year? He’s got more to offer than the young Liverpool loanee.

This one is an interesting one. Tav is not only our captain, but he’s started the season in rich form and been at the centre of most of our goals in pre season and Euro qualifiers. Still defensive frailties and looks to me like Gerard favours players that can defend first in his back 4. With hodson away, Wallace awol I would be concerned about strength of bench for cover in full back and centre half cover should we cash in. North of £6m would seem like good business and the Windass one for £2.5 would offset the current cost of the fees for players we have brought in, so I would hope we would still be looking to bring in a versatile quality left sided centre back and also a quality centre forward as replacements. This is where the EPL transfer window closure will create opportunity for us.
