The deal for Dorrans is now well and truly a non starter as Norwich have pulled the plug on all discussions and have told Graham they see him as a big part of thier Championship squad next season. Graham is now completely set on the fact he will be in England next year and is content to play Championship football next season.

However he has told me (and a few others) that his good mate and former WBA team mate James Morrison has also been in talks with Rangers and that he would have loved to play with him again. No word on how far along any talks with the club and player may be a this stage or if it is a sure thing. It was just general chit chat among friends.

James morrison has been offered 70k per week to return to Middlesborough.

2.) 01 Jun 2016 22:23:41
Dorrans was never going to come to Rangers this summer as we'd need to pay a transfer fee. It'll be out of contract players we're after.

3.) 01 Jun 2016 23:26:26
As mentioned above Morrison offered 70k a week by boro he won't be coming anywhere near ibrox, time to get realistic.

Heard from a mate who lives on the other side of the pond that apparently Davie Weir and some other guy was present during the New Zealand v Fiji game. He said the talk amongst the Rangers fans over there was that they were having a look at Chris Wood who plays as a striker.

Maybe nothing in it or maybe something but thought it was worth posting.

Beau

1.) 29 May 2016 05:53:33
Leeds striker if i'm not mistaken, good physical presence and good in the air which is what we are screaming out for. Would come at a price though as i think leeds think a lot of him.

2.) 29 May 2016 07:04:23
Good player but Leeds paid over 2m for him last season still has 3 year left his stock probly went up if anything don't think we could afford him, shame exactly type of player we need .

3.) 29 May 2016 09:10:22
Never really heard of him or seen him play lads. Was just passing on some info from a Gers fan who lives over there. Guessing if the price is £2m plus we would pass on him though at this point.

4.) 29 May 2016 11:49:09
Non-starter for sure.

29 May 2016 04:44:32
Got an email from a mate on the other side of the pond saying that apparently David Weir and some other guy wr.

Beau

1.) 30 May 2016 10:15:33
Eh? is there a point to this?

20 May 2016 16:48:40
Apparently Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen could be interested in bringing Stevie May back to Scotland if he can prove he has fully recovered from his knee injury.

Never really rated him myself and I believe we can do much better.

Beau

1.) 20 May 2016 17:04:28
Anybody else starting to get excited about tomorrow 😨.

2.) 20 May 2016 18:49:38
Would have been pleased with this signing last season. We're looking at a much higher level now I believe.

3.) 20 May 2016 19:09:35
If the rumours that Rogers is to be given £15 million to compete with Rangers then we are going to need players of a significantly higher level than May to win this league.

4.) 20 May 2016 20:21:56
TOM - whilst I appreciate where you are coming from, surely if the magic hat has shown us anything in the signings he has made so far, it's that quality signings need not be down to how big your budget is, but how you spend it

We obv. need to strengthen but it doesn't have to cost the earth - look at the likes of holt for 60k and waggy and tav for 450k - Brenda meanwhile won hee haw but wasted almost 100m on the likes of balotelli markovic benteke and lallana - I have full confidence in Warbs

Let the others come after us, we welcome the chase.

5.) 20 May 2016 21:49:01
Rodgers did make a complete arse of things in the end at Liverpool and really was any saved one season due to Suarez. Also heard the man's pure arrogance didn't go down well within the club, so much so that he ended up losing the dressing room. I think they have boobed big time with this appointment and should have opted for Malky Mackay.

At least it is going to cost them millions which I'm very happy about. Agree that MW signings last year were just fantastic and for so little money. These type of players are there and Mark, Davie and Frank are just the guys to find them.

6.) 20 May 2016 22:08:36
Big day tomorrow who give a Fryer Tuck about Brendin Rodgers I certainly don't come on the Rangers let get this treble done Feck the rest!

7.) 20 May 2016 23:02:52
el Minto, my comments were with regards to May, I agree that so long as we keep McParland we will most likely identify much better players and pick them up at a bargain price.

Right now I don't believe that there are many players in Scotland that would be good buys given what we might get for our money!

I also suspect that in his haste to improve the Celtic team that Rogers will end up with a couple more donkeys but he will most likely pick up one or two decent players.

I will feel a lot happier when we sign quality centre back.

8.) 20 May 2016 23:27:20
Bongo yes mate, on yae go bro.

17 May 2016 17:23:14
I thought I posted this earlier but I was speaking to the brother of Declan McManus who plays for Fleetwood and has been on loan at Morton (formerly of Aberdeen) . He claims that Dec is hanging for a move back to Scotland as his girlfriend has given birth and wants to come home.

Anyway his older brother claims his agent has been contacted by eight Scottish clubs including Rangers, Hearts, Dundee and Hibs.

Make of it what you will boys. Just passing along some genuine info.

Beau

1.) 17 May 2016 18:00:15
sign him up, next Jamie Vardy woohoo.

2.) 17 May 2016 18:39:06
Who is Declan McManus.

3.) 17 May 2016 21:20:04
Ready i don't know him either, but must say with a name like yown he might interest the other team from the east end, lol.

4.) 18 May 2016 00:03:54
Is he not part of Oliver' s army?

5.) 18 May 2016 08:32:36
Beau, so that's 2 brothers of professional footballers you have spoken with this week?

6.) 18 May 2016 09:50:07
We are all from the east end and grew up together mate. I know a few other guys personally from my time playing in youth football.

Glasgow isn't a big place. It not like I'm saying I have spoken to Sergio Aguero'or Andres Iniesta's brother.

7.) 18 May 2016 14:45:18
The seeker as long as he ain't here to stay mate, maybe he is on his way.

8.) 18 May 2016 17:12:50
Fair enough Beau. I wasn't trying to have a dig, just generally interested that you have spoken with two brothers of potential targets. That's a pity about Aguero and Inesta however lol.

9.) 17 May 2016 18:17:34
Agger to gers.

Who cares if Celtic have a new manager. It just goes to show they are are floundering at board level and are worried about coming up against a real threat.

The boys in blue are on the march to a cup final today and I for one cannot wait to see Stubbs cry at the last whistle. Hopefully then we can nudge our way back into Europe and Dave King and co will step up to the plate and give Warburton the backing he deserves.

2-0 for me today. Kenny Miller to get both!

Beau

1.) 21 May 2016 10:05:31
Beau

I hope your right about the score however can't see us keeping a clean sheet so will need to score at least 2 to win in 90 mins.

2.) 21 May 2016 11:56:47
"Who cares if Celtic have a new manager? "

*runs off to Celtic board to post about new manager*.

3.) 21 May 2016 07:18:37
And you say celtic are obsessed the first bit of your post is about celtic and you are in a cup final today. And why would we be floundering at board level just because we appointed a top manager? if you are going to post something about the opposition at least try and make it sound credible.

4.) 21 May 2016 16:59:59
Need to wait a bit longer for those tears and even longer for Europe lol Stokesay Stokesy Stokesy.

17 May 2016 17:40:50
A little off topic but I have just watched the highlights of the Sheff Wed / Brighton match. Whilst watching it I can see four ex Celtic players in Hooper, Kayal, Loovens and Wallace on the park. Not long ago Celtic would have tried to win games in the CL with these same players who are now trying to gain entry into the EPL. It really puts the current state of the Scottish game into perspective.

Along with Rangers current pursuit of Barton it shows how much the game in Scotland has deteriorated over the past decade and how the pendulum has swung very quickly from one end of the scale to the opposite. No disrespect to any of those players I have mentioned but their ability is far from what has graced Scotland in the past.

It is a shame as the Scottish game is passionate and intriguing but in my opinion has been left flailing due to poor leadership at the top end of the spectrum. It makes you really wonder if the Scottish game will ever flourish again and it makes you worry that a bleak future may lie ahead.

Beau

1.) 17 May 2016 18:48:46
Watched the game last night and thought the conduct of Kayal was shocking. Incredible he stayed on the park after 2 tackles that were done to intentionally injure the opponent.

2.) 17 May 2016 19:24:45
Kayal has a nasty streak in him. He should have been off the park long before he lost out on that 50/ 50 with big Mculloch.

17 May 2016 12:25:27
Ed001 if you are around mate I would just like to get your opinion on Joey Barton and if you think he has matured over the last few years.

I know in the past you have shared your thoughts on him so I was wondering if your views are still the same?

Cheers.

Beau

{Ed001's Note - I don't think I am the best person to ask, my view is tainted by knowing the family and not liking them in the slightest. I personally don't like the him and his fake attempts at trying to come across like a nice philosophical guy. As a player he is decent enough, but he is still guilty of idiotic moments. I just don't see any evidence to think he has matured, he has just learnt to pretend much more.}

1.) 17 May 2016 12:47:39
Fair play Ed I know from reading over the years you have always maintained the same opinion of him. Of course I don't know him personally but he does seem a lot more mellow in the media nowadays than around the time he played at Man City.

{Ed001's Note - he has learnt how to portray himself well, that is thanks to having an agent who has helped him with that. As a person, he needs to do more than tweet random quotes to prove he has grown up and that the apple has fallen far from the tree. I would love to think he has learnt his lesson, but I have yet to see any real evidence of it. I would particularly fear for him in Glasgow, where the pressure is immense, rather than in Burnley, were there is little of it.}

2.) 17 May 2016 13:44:51
There has been guys worse than him play at the top level but again this is Glasgow.

Not sure about this one as from what I have heard Rangers and Norwich have really burned a few bridges over negotiations for Graham Dorrans.

BWP went to the USA at his peak. There is no way at 31 years old he will come back to the UK to scrap in a more competitive league. He will stay is the USA break a few records and mellow down into his late 30's as an MLS legend.

Ed001 is he rated highly down there or is he just being built up by the media like the way they always over hype young foreign players?

Beau

{Ed001's Note - fairly highly rated, he has not got the hype of Ojo, but he is a tricky lad, just needs to develop consistency.}

I think Johansson is a decent player (granted he was shocking last year) but if Buck Rodgers has any sense the first thing he would do is get rid of Brown who is worse than a man down.

Having said that I would love them to build around Brown lol.

I like his attitude on the pitch but I don't think he is top quality. We could do better and worse than him in my opinion.

Aland Stubbs will be lining his pocket with triple the salary he was getting at Hibs so I am sure he will not care if you call him a bottler.

It seems we are pushing for Bentley as it is now in the tabloids as well as on a lot of Internet forums. Never seen Bentley play myself but there may just be something in it. Having said that I still thing Foderingham is a decent keeper.

Agree BBP. He was a standout in the A-League last season along with Craig Goodwin who got his move to Europe. I am positive Mooy will be a perfect fit in Warburton's set up. Crazy to think he is an ex St Mirren player!
