afternoon lads, what do you make of the stories going round about netting going up on the roofs on starkiller base ;) to stop debris hitting the fans, apparently happening this month. any truth in it?

Bhoywonder

1.) 11 Dec 2016 15:50:06
Why don't you tell us? You seem well clue'd up over Rangers. TrueBlue.

2.) 11 Dec 2016 15:53:11
Bhoywonder, I put that post up weeks ago and the majority of people disagreed with me. Yes it is a fact it will happen as Glasgow City Council came to Ibrox and deemed the roofs unsafe. Rangers cannot afford to replace the roofs so safety nets under the roofs to catch any falling debris is the cheapest option. I wish people would do their homework before they disagree. In fact can all those who disagreed please explain why, cheers.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 16:08:45
So the council say the roof is unsafe, but they continue to allow games to be played. Exactly how unsafe is it? Surely it either is or isn't.

4.) 11 Dec 2016 16:20:54
Gor check your facts rangers have been issued with a certificate from glasgow city council the stadium is fit and safe for use all teams must get this each season from council and emergency services this is a fact work will be done on the roofs in certain stands as they need updated no risk to the fans what so ever how can the council deem it unsafe but allow 50,000 fans in each week stop talking nonsense.

5.) 11 Dec 2016 16:23:43
Cuillin72. You clearly were one who disagree with me, as they say time will tell. Do you fancy a wee wager on it?

6.) 11 Dec 2016 16:40:44
Nail on head Cuillin72. If the roof was deemed unsafe then the council would not be meeting its duty to let any game go ahead that could potentially endanger members of the public. And rightly so.

7.) 11 Dec 2016 17:31:54
A wager on what? If it is deemed unsafe, it would show extreme ineptitude from Glasgow Council. Not to mention the risk to fans attending the games. I don't keep a record of posts I disagree with, but as you say I clearly disagreed with you, it must be true.

8.) 11 Dec 2016 17:52:11
Not arguing with a fellow bear but time will tell regarding safety nets on the roofs.

9.) 11 Dec 2016 20:14:23
The safety nets would cover about a 1 mile radius around the stadium to catch any flying sheets from the stadium roof.

I'm detecting a whiff of the brown stuff.

10.) 11 Dec 2016 20:27:20
So long as the nets don't obstruct the view of the magnificent Glasgow Rangers who the hell cares?

11.) 11 Dec 2016 20:28:21
Safety nets could be put up for the workman on the roof no chance would the council put people at risk and allow games to be played at an unsafe venue.

12.) 11 Dec 2016 22:01:51
Does anybody in their right mind believe that a council so full of Rangers haters and republicans would for a second consider giving us a safety certificate if the slightest opportunity arose to close Ibrox or at least disrupt our income, our fans and our team while work was carried out? Behave!

13.) 12 dec 2016 11:11:39
the nets that will go up will be precautionary as to work being carried out on some parts of the roof.

14.) 12 Dec 2016 12:13:14
Bhoywonder, your own stadiums main stand (south) has two retractable structural support legs. These, as you probably well know, are lowered when the stadium is empty to prevent the canopy from buckling under it's own weight and fracturing. If supporting legs or safety nets can get a stand relevant certification form the authorities when safety of fans is paramount then I'm sure neither set of fans have anything to worry about.

15.) 12 Dec 2016 13:21:26
Sounds to me like an ideal opportunity for the board to issue some kind of statement to reassure any fans that might be worried in any way.

After all didn't they promise transparency?

Not only that they would have the opportunity to rubbish spurious claims by anti-Rangers bloggers.

16.) 12 Dec 2016 13:50:48
Why would the board issue a statement everytime a moon howler makes a ridiculous claim? They would do nothing but issue statements then to satisfy this imbeciles.

17.) 12 Dec 2016 14:27:07
theres an MSP raising questions about it, they have been receiving threats apparently, Blu Stu how does it make people imbeciles as you call them if they have heard stories and would like a definative answer, there's bears on this post that have questioned the very same thing. and what's with the insults mate?, that all you got in your locker? think a lot of people want clarification on said matter but you just stick to insults mate. good job.

18.) 13 Dec 2016 11:37:16
It's just more bull made up by sad Celtic fans. If the roof was unsafe we would not be aloud to play their.

15 Nov 2016 18:42:58
Quick Question for yourselves lads, now that the wages have been disclosed and they are miles apart, do you think you can compete with the amount of funding that's been provided by your board? Even if the ashley strip fiasco was to be resolved tomorrow there would still be a huge financial gap. reason i'm asking is that a lot of fans think that because your back that your going to be challenging, ( cups maybe not league imo) . i think that kings fed a lot of you a line and a lot bit the line. do you push the boat out and risk it again?, or do you bide your time, build your club up again and challenge yrs from now?, personally think king should get his wallet out.

Bhoywonder

1.) 15 Nov 2016 19:31:12
@bhoywonder - my personal opinion would be to build the quality of the team up over a couple of seasons.

2.) 15 Nov 2016 20:06:44
Union Jack agree with you about building team but no gers manager will ever get time to build a team sadly.

3.) 15 Nov 2016 20:14:54
A quick fix is never the answer at any football club. As long as we improve every season that's all we can expect. Throwing money around that we don't have is pure mental. The few years under white and green have held us back massively. And now king is taking abuse for not spending money. Some people need to be just a little bit more patient.

4.) 15 Nov 2016 23:17:56
I will always respect any gers fans opinion. Me personally I would like to give mw time to build a team but I see some fans that want the guy out after 12 games in spl. I would like to know if they got they're wish and mw was sacked how long would they give the next manager.

5.) 16 Nov 2016 06:45:00
It's not the quality of player that is the number 1 frustration. We can all except that we are a wee bit behind and it will take time to get to where we want to be. However, in the meantime it would be nice to see a few wee encouraging signs.

What we're getting, and what I can't except, is a team totally devoid of ideas and a manager stubbornly sticking to a system even when it has failed against almost the entire spectrum of teams in the league.

I actually belive the current have a lot more potential but MW can't seem to unlock, and is even stifling, that potential with his system.

6.) 16 Nov 2016 09:57:51
The last thing rangers should do is spend money we don't have, one thing I would say to bhoywonder is swings and roundabouts mate, it's going to take rangers a few years but we will get that league back, I just hope we do it by building and not a quick fix.

7.) 16 Nov 2016 10:12:49
Believe we should continue process of building strong foundations for the long term. Currently in year 2 of a 5 year transforamation plan. Lots comment on the high revenue base of Celtic but they also have a massive cost base and make a modest profit. Lots of good work taking place off the park to remedy the problems of the past that we all know of. Need MW to prepare a team committed to deliver 2nd place and European football. Based on finance and infrastructure currently available that is achievable. We have no need to spend silly money that is not there.

8.) 16 Nov 2016 10:26:54
cheers for the honest replies lads.

9.) 16 Nov 2016 13:44:00
To build the right foundation you need a management team that can deliver on the park. We do not have that currently. It's not for the management team to lay those foundations either.

The board need to sort out the foundations, the finance and have a plan in how to do that and when to achieve it by. I don't see that at the moment either. Warburton and Weir will not be with us for the next 10 years, we need a system that can accommodate any management team. A youth system, a scouting system, marketing team, fundraiser, investment, merchandising.

A breakthrough is needed and it needs to happen very very quickly. Oh and we need a League that people enjoy watching. So not much then eh!

We are a decade away from anything worthwhile talking about. Scottish football is in the dark dark shadow that's cast by the EPL.

I think a few of us are reluctant to admit that the heart of our club is not beating as strong as we would have hoped for.

10.) 16 Nov 2016 13:48:51
should continue building, but bhoywonder I have to say I think we aren't as far off as some celtic fans think yes we have had a woefull start to the season.
yes our manager is stubborn but things can change very quickly.
I think by the end of the season warbs will have everyone back on his side due to the players getting their fingers out as they are underperforming.
bhoywonder I have to say I think your team only has maybe 4 players in it that I would take at the moment.
but those 3 players u signed has made a big difference to your whole team. all we can hope is that we can turn our team around the way Brenda's signings did for yous.

11.) 16 Nov 2016 16:08:57
and money doesn't guarantee success .
although i'd rather have it that not have it.

12.) 16 Nov 2016 17:32:09
Only 4 players James. Are u kidding on? Surly u can't be serious .

13.) 16 Nov 2016 17:57:49
I think that most honest celtic and rangers fans did not expect what gap happened after 12 games. I am a football man and certainly did not expect celtic to be this far ahead of everyone else at this stage. Rodgers has done an amazing job compared to Delia last year and to be honest he has not broke the bank to do it. Rangers need investment to compete.

14.) 16 Nov 2016 18:07:18
I'm a big fan of mark warburton and in the majority of things he's trying to build and achieve at rangers. My only gripe with him is at times when making his usual 60minutes subs, he should tweak the system to try and get the positive result instead of just changing the personnel, especially our front 3 when he continually changes like for like!

15.) 16 Nov 2016 20:46:36
Celtic have a good signing policy tho, they seem to be able to see a bargain with good sell on value. Would any of our summer freebies (including compensation paid youngsters) fetch the £20m being touted for Dembelle? I don't think so.

16.) 17 Nov 2016 11:10:26
The gap is huge between us and them and I doubt any rangers player would get into their side. For someone to come on and say they would take only 4 players is laughable.

Thoughts and prayers for those who were affected by todays horrible tragedy.

2.) 01 Oct 2016 18:45:02
Good shout BW.

3.) 01 Oct 2016 19:07:50
absolutely gutted for this young mans family, tragedies like this puts everything into perspective.

4.) 01 Oct 2016 20:14:39
what happened today is a real tragedy and things like this make you realise that football is only a game. life is more important i can only echo what has been said so far that my thoughts go out to his family and friends. let's hope the 3 other casualties who suffered serious injuries pull through. and to all the celtic fans who came on and passed on their sympathies as well thanks we have digs about each other but when it comes to things like this we come together.

R. I. P.

5.) 01 Oct 2016 19:51:37
Thanks Bhoywonder, appreciate.

6.) 01 Oct 2016 21:02:37
Life and health have always been much greater in value than football, or its petty rivalries, my faith in humanity returns in times like these, just ordinary people showing concern and empythy toward each other. The saddest thing is that it takes tradgedy for it to happen. Rip.

7.) 02 Oct 2016 06:40:09
Good post Bham, you know in 3 weeks time we'll all be on here giving each other sly digs abt the big game but aslong as it doesn't cross the line its nothing us big boys/ girls can't handle. at the end of the day half love the Blue side and the other half love the Green side. We all got brought into this world the same way, we just went our different ways in our choice of clubs to (follow follow) but that dosent make any of us different.

8.) 02 Oct 2016 09:57:46
nice sympathy posts on here, except for the one moron who keeps hitting the disagree button, don't care what team he supports but he wants to get a life idiot.

25 Sep 2016 16:20:29
Reality check time lads, I've said on numerous occasions that with no funding, bad buys, DK putting pressure on yous would backfire, a lot of rangers fans seemed to think that because you got back up you were going to stroll it, with basically the same squad as last yr, going to take time as most sensible posters on here will agree, just popping on to say why blame your gaffer when its clear the fingers should be pointed at DK for numerous lies he has spun your support. he has gave you nothing but loans to be repaid and off course the old rangers statements that fans just gobble up. if your going to shift blame that's the man that should be taking the flak. if he dosent pull his finger out youll have more to worry about than dropping points .

have a good night lads.

Bhoywonder

1.) 25 Sep 2016 16:47:08
I've never had the wool pulled over my eyes but it's not like any team really deserved the win today. I didn't think Rangers would win the league, far from it but even by today's game it's hardly like we where outclassed by last years 2nd place team away from home. So it's clear we can get 2nd. This talking up of us matching Celtic is clearly ludicrous in the sense Sinclair cost twice as much as our whole team so that's enough said. If Celtic didn't win the title this year with that calibre of player I would have been astounded. Rangers will improve this year and people just look at results but we need some patience, which as we all know is in short supply.

Some mentioned Le Guen further up, get a grip of yourself he has a massive budget and ruined things. Warburton has rebuilt a team with nothing and promoted us and is learning with a new squad. Some people are pathetic.

2.) 25 Sep 2016 17:59:12
How has he had nothing? by far a bigger budget than Aberdeen hearts and everyone else outside celtic he's ruining us with his inability to change tactics 4-3-3 or nothing get the useless twat out now I've had enough of watching this nice on the ball pish we can't score n let way too many in.

3.) 25 Sep 2016 18:32:10
Bhoywonder, can you explain to me where DK has gone wrong?
His three year plan was having us playing in Europe in that
time scale, which we WILL do this season .
We are in the process of building the youth academy / scouting network etc .
Can you explain to me where he is going wrong, as I for one took positives from the game today highlighting we are not that far from our objective .

why am i worried your sold out PB? makes no difference to me, but a story that's went on for yrs that no one has addressed worries me. i don't go to old firm games as they bring out the muppet element of the support and i tend to stay away from all that bull tbh . honestly think if there's nothing to it why not release a statement to say so, would that not be the best thing?
