I think if we look at our defence, using last nights game as an example, we are what we are. Simply not good enough, or confident enough to close out games. Tav is great at running forward but not a great defender at right back. Flannagan is simply being played out of position and Katic seems to have lost his mojo since being dropped. SG need to look at the midfield and install a strong go forward mentality. Too much sand dancing folks and not enough playmaking. We all know what's missing but finances will be a hurdle for us for a wee while to come.

Outstanding result yesterday fellow bretheren. I was a bit worried when we took foot of the gas and started to give them space to play. However, homework was done and the league leaders were well and truly taught a lesson. Team effort was solid and the Morelos goal was cheeky class. Confidence oozing from the wee man now so long may it continue. I've been saying for years to dip the German market for players. Brilliant week's work. We are the people πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

Morelos came from Finland, not Germany?

2.) 08 Oct 2018 08:56:17
and he's Columbian lol.

3.) 08 Oct 2018 11:51:56
I might be wrong but I don't think a single player we have came from Germany.

4.) 08 Oct 2018 13:13:13
Jordy I think you are right there! No one in our squad has come from the Bundesliga, although I do understand Buddyblue's sentiment because the German market is an afforable one for us and they have some cracking players. Nonetheless, Morelos came from Helsinki.

5.) 08 Oct 2018 16:13:00
Apologies for the way I worded this one guys. What I meant to say is that I would Like SG to dip into the german market in January. Good strong league and players seem to adapt the the Scottish style without too much fuss. Hope this clears that one up and apologies for the wording. Anyhoo, anyone agree with my thoughts on the German market for players?

6.) 08 Oct 2018 21:12:22
Ryan Kent spent 1st part of last season in Germany with freiburg.

7.) 08 Oct 2018 22:46:51
Fair doos chief, the German market does have plenty of good, technical, intelligent footballers. We definitely need an actual attacking midfielder, one that can play that killer pass to take defenders out the game. Most of our CM'S can tackle and pass a ball there is no doubt but I never expect any of them to really drive forward beat a man and crack one from long range. Don't get me wrong I know a good one of those will set you back quite a bit, but I feel that's really the only thing our team is missing, so yeah Germany, Scandinavian countries, Croatia decent places to look for such a gem.

8.) 09 Oct 2018 07:03:53
I feel exactly the same way jordy15. Our midfield is all about holding and passing at present. If we can grab another striker and a good strong attacking midfielder who fancies a dig from 20 yards I think SG will have a cracking squad that can go anywhere confidently and take back this league where we belong. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

Not sure BuddyB. I'm not convinced we can afford much from the big 5 leagues.
I think the best bargains are to be found in eastern Europe like Katic, Barasic and Grezda. hopefully they will all kick on.
On the subject of players from countries that adapt well, I think we have to look at Holland.

Most players do well that have played there.
From way back when Aberdeen bought Snelders and Gilhaus, through the period of the De boer and Mols etc. Not forgetting Larsson for them. More recently VVD for them.

Fellow bretheren. Outsranding result so let's take this performance into the league and show the Tic what this club is all about. WE ARE THE PEOPLE. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

Buzzing coming out of ibrox last night! Superb performance from our players and another terrific, very professional interview, from our iconic manager, post match! As usual, he was the immaculate professional, in everything he said!
Steven Gerrard was like a cat that got the cream and was absolutely spot on, to wax lyrical, about his team's performance, post match! He most definitely is getting our club right into his heart! His praise for all us rangers supporters, at ibrox last night was very welcoming and lovely to hear! In Steven Gerrard, we most definitely trust!

Just read players rating the sun absolutely shocking can people not give an honest judgment or do they send Stevie Wonder to report gave Ryan Kent a 6 and Worrall n Flanagan unbelievable.

Just another quick one folks. If I was SG, I would cancel training and replay the entire footage of this game to the team. It would make them ALL sit up and realise how bad this team effort was yesterday. Again, it points out, quite clearly, what we lack in our play. Hope it gets addressed soon before we fall any further behind Hearts. We ARE the people!

Individual footage for each individual player gets shown so yes they will all see it.

Has anyone noticed that Alfredo is having to fall back in search of the ball more these days? While i'm quite imoressed with the playmaker style in his play, it's starting to show the cracks in our game plans. Lafferty and Tavernier were pretty non existant but what do I know guys. SG must know what he needs to resolve this and I'm srill behind him 100%. C'mon the Rangers.

Tavernier isn’t captain material and this was shown yesterday when you think of some of the great captains we have had in the past. Players that could get the best out of underperforming players on the park. Tavernier like the rest of them seemed to except early on that it wasn’t our day.

I don't know why SG can't see this in him. We have Baracic for a left back and if we brought a similar right back to baracic and moved tav to midfield we would have a natural attacking ability all day long. I loved the performance yesterday and would stick with this line up for a wee while.

Spot on Derrylad. Tav is good attacking Midfielder all day long in my book. Bring in a strong no nonsense left back, move Tav to Midfield and see a massive difference in our attacking style. Glad someone else thinks this is the way ahead. Brilliant game against Motherwell guys. We ARE the people! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

Yes jordy 15, I agree 100%. A creative attacking midfielder and a strong centre forward is a must in the transfer window. I've been ranting about this for ages.

I agree with you MCC the knife. Morelos is starting to appeal more as a solid play maker and we definitely need another strong agressive centre forward. Grezda is becoming a mystery signing in my book too. Why is he not playing him in games like last night? Chin up guys and let's work this out. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

If that is his statement for booking him then there is no hope for the future of refereeing in Scotland. i'm sick of this type of decision getting passed by the SFA. Nothing we can do now but I can't wait to get St Mirren back at Ibrox. Ferdinand will get an absolute roasting from the Ibrox Loyal. Onwards and upwards folks. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

For me we need 3 players. A solid right back and move tav into an attacking midfield position. A no nonsense left back and a hard attacking central midfielder. I think our playing style would defy anything that the SPL could throw at us with those changes. Grezda is starting to be the player SG thought he would be. Nearly there guys let's go for it now.

Personally speaking folks I would try another route for a striker. Naismith gives his all but we are a club building a future within Scottish football. I want our club to be a force to reckon with again and going back for ex players is not my idea of trying to achieve it. German market for me for a striker and possibly an attacking midfielder in January. Thoughts?

I agree big bear. At the very least someone who is not shy ay skelping the ball from 20 yards. Its the only thing missing in our game. We showed Hearts yesterday how to play a creative game of football, so nothing to fear there. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.
