I was sitting next to a sports rights lawyer at a dinner last night and inevitably the conversation drifted around to our current SD fight.

Whilst he was/ is not involved with Rangers, he said that the "matching clause" was very common in merchandising deals because the sums of money can be so huge.

In his opinion, my is a sore loser and is simply making life as difficult as possible for us by examining every single legal loophole without any real desire to win a merchandising deal.

He could match the JD sport deal and we would have to give him the contract, however, he is insisting on examining every single (tiny) part of the deal with a supposed view that he would cherry pick only the best bits - we would not have to agree to thins but my is insisting that we give him the detail in any case.

In other words, SD would not have signed the get out deal (£3m) last year without the "matching clause" that is common place.

Without knowing all the facts, the lawyer recons that we will win the case because the judge (at some point) will run out of patience with SD's spoiling actions that are designed only to be a pain in the butt but have the possibility of causing significant material damage to our club.

Time will tell.

Sounds about right with that rat Dk17👍.

2.) 16 Oct 2018 13:13:27
Sounds highly likely dk 17.

3.) 16 Oct 2018 17:15:44
Ashley is a nice utter bellend. A man who would happily return to the days of slavery.

4.) 16 Oct 2018 18:40:42
All is well DK17 has spoken to.

5.) 16 Oct 2018 22:06:40
Hey Return, I know I fine chap from Mull, are you acquainted with any of the Mcleans.

6.) 17 Oct 2018 16:49:41
Get yourself a spell check.

21 Sep 2018 17:51:42
First lot of our new strips are on sale according to club website.

No mention of SD or Ashley!

Thoughts?

1.) 21 Sep 2018 18:09:15
Just bought myself the orange third step with halliday on the back, excited!

2.) 21 Sep 2018 18:31:46
I take it a launch must be this Monday? 😀🇬🇧.

3.) 21 Sep 2018 18:31:54
Can’t load webpage to order one as site too busy.

4.) 21 Sep 2018 18:39:07
They said they would be available October, so close enough I guess. Maybe a 3rd kit has a different contract compared to the standard home and away kits?

5.) 21 Sep 2018 18:49:52
I thought it was only the home 1 and the white away 1 available at the minute!

6.) 21 Sep 2018 18:50:00
thought it was just the home strip for now?
been trying to get on the site for 1 hour now.

7.) 21 Sep 2018 19:12:39
Av been on and ordered the home wan for my boys but I couldn’t see the oranage one. Only orange Top I saw was the keeper Top. hope you’ve not gone and ordered shaggers Top with Halliday on the back Klos😂.

8.) 21 Sep 2018 19:18:07
I've just ordered home top short sleeve! Was in queue for 2 mins then in. Follow link from club page guys.

9.) 21 Sep 2018 20:15:27
Govanfront7 definitely not lol. Made me check my email though! definitely third kit adult 16 Halliday. Won’t let me post pic of email or I’d show all the disagrees. Also it’s home and third available. Away kit not available yet.

10.) 21 Sep 2018 21:29:02
Just ordered home and 3rd (orange) kits for my 2 boys 🔵🍊🔵🍊

Orange is definitely for sale.

11.) 21 Sep 2018 22:03:00
Remember it’s not orange, it’s mandarin. Don’t want to offend anyone😏.

12.) 21 Sep 2018 22:09:24
Got long sleeve home for me and black goalie for the wee man 👍.

13.) 22 Sep 2018 08:46:20
Lads I hope the website to order the kits isn’t anything to do with sports direct.

14.) 22 Sep 2018 12:17:02
Have waited this long so i can wait a little longer to be 100% sure Fatman is not involved in ANY way whatsoever.

15.) 22 Sep 2018 12:55:52
Was the strip with Halliday on the back the only one left klosrfc.

16.) 23 Sep 2018 14:59:52
Yup kits are there. £60 adult, get buying people.

17.) 23 Sep 2018 15:00:07
With NO Fanfare or advertising, . Really?

18.) 23 Sep 2018 15:01:37
Anyone notice the 32red logo in last night's europa game was a different colour to when the club first announced the kits on the website. Seems to be a lot of flaws with these kits.

19.) 23 Sep 2018 15:02:44
Southend if it was anything to do with Sports Direct, the tops would be in the shops to buy. It would appear an agreement has been reached to sell limited number of the strips just now.

I know that some on here will think that I a a wee bit biased but given where we were when Dave King took over and where we are now, he must be the best Chairman we have had in recent times.

He has led us from financial ruin with no team or structure to a position of stability with a solid foundation.

After a couple of poor appointments, he has brought in Mark Allen and then Stevie G and provided the financial support to assemble a really strong squad that is light years away from last year.

Court cases galore take the gloss off but just perhaps he is the street fighter that we needed to wrestle control away from Ashley, Green, Whyte etc?

Murray led us to the cliff edge and everyone since has bee ruinous for the club until DK formed a dodgy alliance to wrestle control away from the previous regime - Snow White he is not but he ain't Darth Vader either!

IOM - the floor is all yours!

DK17

1.) 17 Aug 2018 00:38:47
I was with you till you started moaning about Murray. Did you complain when we where signing all those great players? Not one person did. He chased a dream for us and only just failed twice.

2.) 17 Aug 2018 01:09:54
Dave King takes a lot of stick, without him and the three bears we would still have ashley and the other mugs👍.

3.) 17 Aug 2018 06:30:51
Good start so far. Two friendlies 75 k fans make about one million
Four qualifiers make at least four million from 200 k fans, tv, corporate, catering etc. Also 700 k from UEFA so far
Let's get past Ufa in to groups ten million to be made, not sure many expected this
All we need to do is sell our tops, we are slowly getting there.
Our fans are the greatest.

4.) 17 Aug 2018 07:45:56
Southend, no I didn’t complain about Murray and wouldn’t criticise him now either because he did what he thought was right and gave some good years.

If you read my post, I am comparing how far DK has taken the club (from very lowly and weak situation) whereas Murray took over a relatively stable and successful club and made it more successful until the crash.

5.) 17 Aug 2018 08:19:09
David Murray deceived the fans and relied on fans trust and his businesses to hide this. He kept telling everyone how much money he personally put into the club when that wasn’t the case. He then sold the club to one of the biggest charlatans in the country despite being told by members of the board not too.

6.) 17 Aug 2018 08:58:54
Look DK has his faults but what he and the rest of the board has done whilst being hamstrung with ridiculous contracts is nothing short of remarkable. We’ve went all in on SG and this team. A gamble that was worth taking imo and I know it’s early but who on here would have thought we were 2 games away from the Europa league.
Let that sink in for a minute.

7.) 17 Aug 2018 09:57:03
Jboy. Look at the figures for reaching the group stages. We will not make 10s of millions. Maybe 6-7 at a push.

8.) 17 Aug 2018 11:16:36
Marco never said tens of millions. I said we would make ten million
Let's see how it pans out
I'd say about five million gate receipts, 2.3 million for getting there.
Tv money, not a lot, corporate, catering etc
Money for wins, draws hopefully, so let's be optimistic, IF we get there.

9.) 17 Aug 2018 11:17:23
Totally agree colster.

10.) 17 Aug 2018 11:56:23
The figures are in Euros but still:

Play-off round elimination: €300,000
Base fee for group stage: €2,920,000
Group match victory: €570,000
Group match draw: €190,000
Group winners: €1,000,000
Group runners-up: €500,000

It could add up rather quickly in the group stage with the base fee for making the groups.
If a ticket was £20 x 50,000 fans that equals £1m per game revenue.

So let's say £2.6m for reaching, £3m for gate receipts and be negative and say we win 1 and draw 1 game in the group, that's a total of £6.36m plus TV, sponsorship and what not.

Let's compare that to last season and see how far we have progressed! In SG we trust!

11.) 17 Aug 2018 14:11:33
out of 6 games i'd be hoping for a lot more than 1 win and 1 draw lol.

12.) 17 Aug 2018 18:25:25
Any money in Europe for us at the minute is a bonus. Hopefully pay off some debts and improve squad again in January.

13.) 17 Aug 2018 20:29:55
Colster I said on here a month or so ago that I didn't think we hat a cat in hells chance of getting to the group stage! How wrong I was it's been a staggeringly good start from Stevie and the boys and I for 1 can't wait to see what lies in wait for us this season, 10/ 10 so far it's been brilliant so far.

14.) 17 Aug 2018 20:36:05
Let’s get to the group stage first gentlemen. talk about counting your chickens?

Can't help but wonder where the Naysayers are these days!

Those of you "supporters" who go quiet when we are doing well, wanted Morelos, Candeias, Tav and Halliday booted out of the club only a month or so ago - we don't hear you dishing out complements!

I know I'm boring by repeating myself but we are on the up but we will hit a few hurdles on the way - get behind the club and stay there through good and bad.

DK17

1.) 24 Sep 2018 10:16:27
Great post couldn’t agree more.

2.) 24 Sep 2018 10:42:20
Us "supporting naysayers" are entitled to an opinion I've posted here that I was wrong re Morelos and was happy to admit it but DK17 it doesn't detract from the fact we're all allowed an opinion so gies peace with your sanctimonious posts.

3.) 24 Sep 2018 10:43:26
Apparently attacking our own players constantly even when playing well! Is good for the club! According to some of our support!

4.) 24 Sep 2018 11:48:49
No barowlad having an opinion isn't a fault I'm sure you thought everything was great over past few years as Celtic used us as their plaything not once did you raise a voice of dissent I'm ecstatic where we are miles ahead of what I thought but hate the fact there are posters on here that are always right and no one else has right to comment.

5.) 24 Sep 2018 12:54:08
No far from it Dlc7007 I'm referring to the support that would rather attack morelos for his missed goals than celebrate his goals scored and hold up play! Or attack halliday constantly for past form rather than be glad he seems to have turned a corner and is a completely different player under Gerrard! Players do deserve criticising! But does that player still deserve past form to be held against him when playing well? If you yourself into that category then that's not my fault is it!

6.) 24 Sep 2018 13:31:05
I've been one of hallidays supporters think he's a great squad player I along with many others are entitled to criticise if its warranted even gerrard critisied the team after a 3-0 win against Dundee so is he fair game to question why he is doing it?
I want rangers to win everything they enter but I can't blindly sit back and not have a say if IMO it's not been great it's like dhim supportters on clyde just now as far as they can see there's no problems it's a blip, treble treble is coming! they're deluded and so are some of our fans if they think our team is beyond critique as well as we're doing.

7.) 24 Sep 2018 14:48:23
Dlc7007 at what point in anything I've said have I suggested that players shouldn't be criticised? I've only said is it fair to keep criticising players long after their form has improved is that to the benefit to the club?

8.) 24 Sep 2018 15:29:42
dic7007 we beat dundee 4-0 and yes he criticised the team not any individual player . unlike a certain other manager.

9.) 25 Sep 2018 22:13:14
There is constructive criticism then there is slagging for the sake of it. as it makes some feel big and superior. unfortunately some on here don’t get the difference.

02 Sep 2018 08:53:44
SG has just shown us how he feels about Morelos by signing him up until 2022.

Hopefully all you fifa managers out there with opinions will now get behind the player and support him through good and bad days.

If he continues to develop he will be our £20m player in 18 months.

Would be nice to see a quick return on investment today - Morelos hatrick would work for me.

DK17

1.) 02 Sep 2018 10:56:15
Would be nice to see him last 90mins. Guaranteed they will be winding him up. Mon the Bears. Let's Go!

01 Sep 2018 11:12:09
Just hearing that Solanke and Davis are on their way to us in the January window.

My sister saw them both hitching a lift on the A1 at 9.30 this morning.

Remember where you saw it first!

DK17

1.) 01 Sep 2018 11:26:36
This is fact it was me that picked them up along with defoe.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 11:53:36
I can also back this up, it was me that told DK17 sister who they were and shifted her from the back seat to let them in👍.

31 Aug 2018 09:09:28
Has anyone done the sums to see where we are financially since SG came in?

Now that we have reached the group stage and moved out some players we must be close to break even on the squad front.

Might still be in the red overall for the season but hopefully the new kit deal will be announced and fill that hole.

DK17

30 Aug 2018 17:25:41
Can't believe the amount of "fans" calling for Morelos and Flanagan to be sold.

The passion and fight is there for all to see and when compared to last year it's fantastic.

We can't have softies playing for us and whilst Morelos was petulant I can understand his frustration as he takes a battering all game but is penalised constantly when he throws his weight around because the refs are conned by the defenders.

Same with Flanagan, very soft second booking - his opponent was leading with the arm and would have clattered Flan except Flan got the jump on him. 50/ 50 in my book.

Anyway, keep the team together, add another few and bash on on all fronts.

What a team!

DK17

1.) 30 Aug 2018 17:53:31
Totally agree. Sg defended them.

2.) 30 Aug 2018 18:02:38
Rubbish

He takes a battering as that is the style he crosses to play ie mixing it

He got send off as he is petulant and always has a chip on his shoulder and thinks the world is against him

Now the team is even more knackered than they would have been for Sunday.

3.) 30 Aug 2018 18:04:21
Win as a team lose as a team, but in private Morelos needs another word!

4.) 30 Aug 2018 18:24:39
Hardmen don't boot balls away and swear at refs. Flanagan is a wife beater. Would give Morelos one more chsnce but Flanagan should never have got here in the first place.

5.) 30 Aug 2018 21:55:22
So72 . so so sad rein it in pal . you just witnessed ( or maybe you didn’t ) one of the best performances of all time for our great club and you are coming on with drivel like that . goodness sake pal.

As usual, my take on Sadiq is to get behind him and support him, encourage him and hope he makes the grade.

SG did not say he was rubbish, he said that the boy known what he has to do so let’s see if SG working in the background can raise his game in the same way various other have.

Plenty of amateurs (including me) can have their opinions but I trust SG to make the right decisions.

Damn, you’ve been proven wrong about Morelos, Tav, Halliday etc so let’s choose another player that we can slaughter!

He clearly showed something for SG to bring him in so why not assume that he is taking longer to settle than ideal but give him support and maybe he will come good.

Leave the negativity for other teams.

Get a grip!

If he reaches his potential we will not be able to keep him -

We are an insignificant club nowadays because the game is all about money.

Like it or not Scottish football is a backwater.

McGregors positioning was not good!

If his positioning was good that would mean that he messed up the save. They had a lucky bounce and Bacca made the most of the opportunity - lack of focus from us very early on.

A short delay in selling the shirts after the £3m buyout and we are free from Ashley - worth it IMO.

So we win the league, get to the semi in the europa, show a £5m profit next season and you still won’t change your mind about Dave King?

Did he rob your sweeties from you at school?
