Rumour going around that Elite Sports have taken a 10 year lease on a shop at St Enoch for a Rangers branded store.

Cat amongst the pigeons?

1.) 14 Nov 2018 22:58:11
Heard this too DK, old Maplin store apparently.

2.) 14 Nov 2018 23:41:47
Seen this the other day hopefully true and no doubt you will have dislikes and negative comments.

3.) 15 Nov 2018 17:39:30
I seen this aswell but looks like a postive step for the club.
Only thing that concern me is mike ashley have we found away around his deal cause if not his deal is still in place.
Then that would leave us open to more court action and us ending up having to pay him all the money back that wee make from these sales as he would sue for breach of contract.
So is still a bit concerning if this is correct.

4.) 15 Nov 2018 17:55:11
Letter in window inviting folk to apply for jobs so it must be right enough.

5.) 15 Nov 2018 18:41:33
Surely this means progress with the retail side and ashley, I would hate to think that DK and board would pull a move like this if it was just going to land us in court again. 👍.

6.) 15 Nov 2018 19:24:19
Coldo

I hope you are right but DK’s record of success in court is not great. We live in hope rather than expectation.

7.) 15 Nov 2018 20:30:14
For sake of our club i hope we have sorted problem with ashley i guess we will find out soon as if not sorted ashley will not like this move by the club.

8.) 15 Nov 2018 20:23:14
It’s definitely true. The Maplin shop has signs on the window looking for staff for the Rangers store 😊.

9.) 15 Nov 2018 23:19:48
Yes.

10.) 16 Nov 2018 11:22:36
Hmm . would rather we just paid the fatman off and get him as far away from our club as possible .

11.) 16 Nov 2018 18:19:50
We did pay him off but still find ourselves stuck under him.

10 Nov 2018 16:14:35
Apparently Pena is on his way back to us!

If true, I want to see SG work on his attitude and see if there is a real player in there somewhere.

Under Pedro he showed some glimpses of talent but SG has unleashed potential in players who were doomed previously so let's see.

For Pena, keep him away from the booze and kebab shops, get a fitness regime and make him feel wanted and loved - just imagine if he became the player we thought we had signed.

DK18

1.) 10 Nov 2018 16:55:16
Let him rot in reserves.

2.) 10 Nov 2018 16:57:17
Dk18 I'd add a bottle of shampoo to the list pena needs! Seriously he's the last thing we need. if he needs to come back I'd make him train alone at 6 am after that he'd be cleaning the bogs after his antics. get him off the wage bill ASAP.

3.) 10 Nov 2018 19:51:05
So you want to welcome him back with open arms after he wiped his nose on our club crest dk18? Shouldn't be allowed back through the doors.

4.) 10 Nov 2018 19:57:01
He's hopeless and he wiped his nose on rangers shorts.

5.) 10 Nov 2018 21:37:32
Hope no. Shouldn't be welcome anywhere near the club. Cut losses and get rid.

6.) 10 Nov 2018 23:04:00
Give him another chance, were lacking creativity, he scored 5 in 14 games whilst unfit for personal reasons. Which I know is not good enough, but if he gets fit then he might be a massive asset. Look at morelos before Stevie g came in. he's ripped now and has bundles of energy.

7.) 11 Nov 2018 09:23:12
To be honest, regarding Pena he has had so many chances on his homeland and several managers have tried working with him to try get his true potential I don't see Gerrard being able to work with him You have a strict disciplinarist in Caxianha trying to work with Pena, bearing in mind, Caxianha took Pena everywhere and put so much trust in Pena So if he can't change for him, it's highly unlikely to change under Gerrards watch Just my opinion of course! Gerrard has enough on his hands to think about without the baggage of Pena! Gerrard is a perfectionist something Pena ain't So let's forget that one!

8.) 11 Nov 2018 09:39:45
Feeling a little better after that bitter defeat against Spartak Moscow What a horrible way to lose a match especially the fact we looked to be in control of the match on three occasions in the first half Suicidal defending by all at the back! Gerrard and co has worked so much on our defence this year and looked to be solid So what exactly has went wrong?
If I were Gerrard is play the much experienced McAuley with Goldson Halidday at left back and Tavs in right
Flanagan was a disaapoitment on Thursday he offers nothing going forward and was at fault with a goal on Thursday which resulted in the two goals back to back

For me Candeias has been our best play in the past month albeit he's not perfect but he has been the most consistent and a player that offers something and goals

Team for me today
Formation: 4-1-3-2

McGregor
Tavernier
Goldson
McAuley
Halliday
Jack (for defensive midfield cover)
Candeias
Arfield
Grezda
Middleton
Morelos.

9.) 11 Nov 2018 10:34:14
Kaz keep finger on the pulse, candeais suspended.

10.) 11 Nov 2018 10:48:58
Candeias is banned, Kaz.

11.) 11 Nov 2018 11:21:41
Candeas? You know something we don’t Kaz?

12.) 11 Nov 2018 11:52:21
Plus Middleton not a striker why would u play him up front.

13.) 11 Nov 2018 11:54:58
Ahh okay right enough Should never have been sent off Absolute joke of a decision Anton Ferdidnand there's a surprise Never too far from trouble.

14.) 11 Nov 2018 11:56:47
Middleton and Grezda on the wing them Morelos will be up top on his toe then no doubt unless there brave enough to play the Dipplodocus (Sadiq) 🙈😂.

15.) 11 Nov 2018 13:04:26
We need two natural full backs tav should be sold or moved to midfield his defending has improved but still no where near good enough, anyone no wha is happening with Wallace.

16.) 12 Nov 2018 07:03:32
Spot on Derrylad. Tav is good attacking Midfielder all day long in my book. Bring in a strong no nonsense left back, move Tav to Midfield and see a massive difference in our attacking style. Glad someone else thinks this is the way ahead. Brilliant game against Motherwell guys. We ARE the people! 🇬🇧.

17.) 12 Nov 2018 12:02:27
Glad someone is thinking the same as myself buddy, his goals and assists ratio is good for defender but would be even greater as a midfielder something I would like to see happening, Halliday was fantastic at left back yesterday.

18.) 12 Nov 2018 16:31:34
I don't know why SG can't see this in him. We have Baracic for a left back and if we brought a similar right back to baracic and moved tav to midfield we would have a natural attacking ability all day long. I loved the performance yesterday and would stick with this line up for a wee while.

19.) 12 Nov 2018 22:13:03
I would play Lee wallace in a heart beat. Far better full back that what we have. He was our catain and gave his all when he plays. We are even playing halliday befor him. That's a joke.

20.) 13 Nov 2018 14:44:24
I for one wouldn’t mind seen lee Wallace get a second chance Flanagan right back push tav to right midfield I think personally that is strengthing the team but yet we don’t know what is happening with Wallace.

Well, unlike most posters on here I thought we played really well today.

We controlled the game and kept Hibs to only a Handful of opportunities.

It's clear that a few of our key players are struggling with tiredness or fitness (Tav, Goldson in particular) and that we need to add a couple in key positions that will help unlock defences.

After one transfer window we are miles ahead of last year. We are within touching distance on top spot and given that everyone is taking points off everyone else we have a big opportunity if we can strengthen in January.

Of course, it's far easier to trash our manager and players where we find ourselves in 2nd place at Christmas!

DK18

1.) 26 Dec 2018 23:16:16
Of course we are going to criticise the players and the manager, it's no good playing well and dropping points all the time, or not even playing well and dropping points all the time. We have not improved, it's all well and good saying aw great still in second, the fact is we have no better a points total than this time last year and it was a poor disgraceful season at that point but because everyone else has dropped points it's acceptable now.

2.) 27 Dec 2018 05:10:54
Good post DK I agree.

3.) 27 Dec 2018 05:21:15
Celtic have gave us a squeak this year but last couple of months we’ve dropped silly points games we should’ve won so fans are frustrated and have right to say so . we should be ahead of Celtic amount silly points we’ve dropped we have same as last year some people on here tell us to shut up stop moaning need to shut up themselves . hopefully we can do some wheeling and dealing in January to kick us on again and start picking up points again.

4.) 27 Dec 2018 08:07:46
You're right stewarty 65,we have to wheel and deal in january. This is only my opinion, but i feel we must sign steven davis, for his all round midfield ability and experience! We must sign a no 10,who can contribute with goals and open up the tightest of defences, with the killer ball. We also must sign another striker, as we're bare in this department and we need to lighten the load on alfredo morelos. He can't do it all himself all the time!

5.) 27 Dec 2018 09:30:07
Good post Super you have said what every Rangers fan is thinking.
We are also carrying a few injuries like Arfield, Barasic, McAuley and Murphy.
Against St Johnstone Lafferty was brought on to support Morelos and it changed the game.
Do we go 4-4-2?
Hopefully we make the signings you suggested.

6.) 28 Dec 2018 11:28:19
Know what, I wish some posters on here who have some valid tactical suggestions could get together and come face to face with Stevie and show him where he is going wrong, (and he is by the way) .

11 Nov 2018 13:56:37
So a win today against Motherwell and we're back to 2 points behind Celtic.

No more motivation needed for the team to shut up thenaysayers and doom mongers amongst our support.

The league is there for the taking if we can just find a ruthless streak and some consistency.

DK18

1.) 11 Nov 2018 14:58:47
If we win today we are in a good postion am sure a lot of supporters
Would have tain us been two points
Off top leauge at this stage as good improvment.
With the right signings in jan we could be in with a chance.

2.) 11 Nov 2018 17:11:06
Aye I would say it's up for grabs, celtic are still a better team than us, that's just being realistic but going on their results in the league this season there is inconsistency there. If we can be more consistent we have every chance but we have to beat them at some point.

FB, I have fallen off my chair twice now - first that Defoe is on his way and then when you have praised Dave King!

Welcome to the team!

Rfcrb, why do you think that we should be well clear of 3rd when Celtic are not?

Celtic have far greater resources that we have and yet to 5 places are all pretty close.

If you are going to slate our teal, at least use some rationale for an argument.

If it wasn’t for Morelos and McGregor we’d be bottom six?

Surely you don’t think we’d play with 9 men every week?

Whilst Fod might not be McGregor class he’d stop plenty of goals for us - same up front, if we had sold Alfie, we’d have bought someone else in who would have scored a few.

Get real, 2nd place after one transfer window where we cleared out the cupboard is something all rational supporters would have signed up for in August!

Personally I thing SG has forgotten more about football than most of us will ever know.

He made Tav Captain, he picks him every week and he raves about him.

It would be really good if you eager beaver Fifa experts screwed the nut and got behind him - unless of course one of you is Alex Ferguson.

It’s not anti Rangers- it simply a look after my mates attitude in the small fishbowl that is Scottish football.

Too few pundits, the same boys network of managers and players that have been around for years but very few play for us so it’s easy to highlight the negatives on our side.

Kenny Miller is a good example, he didn’t perform so well last season but there were not too many pundits knocking him.

Scott Brown is always at the right charity gigs bidding at auctions etc - that’s why he gets good treatment even now that his ability is on the wane.

I think Celtic have been doing just about enough because they have become complacent over the last few years.

If we had turned some draws into wins I’m sure they would have stepped up a gear or two so don't th8nk we would be running away with it.

That being said, I do think the league is there if we can improve consistency, bring in two new players and believe in ourselves.

Yesterday hopefully is the catalyst to that belief.

I have no idea if ace. tic fans slate their team at every opportunity when things are not great (like this season) but at times I am embarrassed to be assocywith some of our sunshine supporters both on here and other forums and at matches when the boo boys are out in force.

We say we are better than them but we have a large number of people who attaches themselves to our club but shame us, the players, manager and club history.

A reality check urgently required - when it comes to the modern game, our history does not buy us success.
