Hi troops was thinking maybe SG could possibly be a very shrewd move for once by the board . He was straight from the top drawer as a player and the respect he would command from the team could put an end to the kind of things that have been going on lately . Also feel he may be able to attract a higher quality of player to the club. Look what souness did back in the day . What about zidane he started with Madrid b.

I still think it is a bit of a gamble if Gerrard accepts. I do hope I’m wrong and he is a success. If he does accept, then he will have to get the season of to great start. Think he would need to at least win first 5 league games to get a positive start. I am also unsure about getting the higher quality players that we want. Yes Gerrard May attract these players but, will the board pay the money. Although I suppose if he is the new manager the this may attract some other investors into the club.

2.) 27 Apr 2018 12:48:37
As others have said, every new manager is a gamble!

As for winning the first 5 games. even Walter would be expected to do that.

I assume that any new manager will want assurances from the board about available cash before the agree to join. pretty basic stuff!

3.) 27 Apr 2018 13:31:46
It has pro's and cons but what it does do is opens up a whole new avenue of a potential partnership with Liverpool and getting some loans on fringe or rising stars.

mckenna won't happen as sheep won't sell to us. Also mcginn wont as he's from the other side . Would like moult to happen as he's proven in this league .

Denger27

1.) 12 Apr 2018 02:38:56
McKenna won’t happen because firstly there has been no interest in him and secondly the sheep won’t sell without hard cash being involved. Not another buy now, pay later deal.

2.) 12 Apr 2018 09:57:13
Denger27 that's were your wrong mate john mcginn might be a celtic man, but i no his sister katie he would come to us if the price is right he's ambitous and wants to play at higher level trust me on this he would come. Neil mccann mo johnstone to name a few, paul lambert was childhood rangers fan didn't stop him bein successful at the dark side

3.) 12 Apr 2018 10:12:17
We would never be able to afford the money required to get mcginn, and even if we offered what they wanted Hibs would find a club down south and send him there to avoid selling to us

4.) 12 Apr 2018 11:37:49
No way maginn would come, his grandfather was the Celtic chairman, can't see it .

5.) 12 Apr 2018 12:00:06
My grandad was the Tesco chairman but I still shopped at asda

6.) 12 Apr 2018 13:31:34
I work in Tesco and shop at asda.

7.) 12 Apr 2018 16:57:17
Dvt1200 means absolute nothing what's his grandad got to do with a young boys career he would rather his grandson played every week than sitting on the bench at the beggar dome fact

8.) 12 Apr 2018 16:58:40
McKenna and McGinn will be at parkhead in the summer.

9.) 12 Apr 2018 17:33:30
How would rangers or Celtic afford mcginn when West ham were looking at him for 7 million in January? And his value has only went up since. If Bates is away the only logical replacement in Scotland is souttar from hearts and as a no nonsense defender i'd like to see Bartley back.

10.) 12 Apr 2018 18:08:21
tjrfc are you pricing mcginn on the dembele dollars price, you won't get 7mill for him

11.) 12 Apr 2018 18:27:13
"West hams gain is Sunderlands loss as the hammers look to snap up mcginn in the summer with Neil Lennon valuing him between 5-7million". no I'm not I'm citing the various news outlets that have reported it.

12.) 12 Apr 2018 19:22:04
Must be true, he's put it in inverted commas and everything.

Herrera, s just come out and says he's living the dream . No intention of leaving.

Denger27

1.) 12 Jan 2018 18:11:05
the guy must be mental, i get nightmares just watching him

2.) 12 Jan 2018 18:47:38
hardly had a chance but not convinced so far

3.) 12 Jan 2018 19:38:37
Off course the guy is living the dream he is potentially one a wad of cash a week for doing very little. Its definately my dream.

4.) 13 Jan 2018 00:52:01
Rangers played much better with Herrera in the team yesterday, Morelos was AWOL and Herrera offered a more direct approach, his lay off for the goal showed his class and strength, something Morelos does not have.

5.) 13 Jan 2018 20:29:29
Herrera living dream in europe on 20k a week as a sub of course he not wanting to leave, saying wanting to make world cup squad, beleive that if ye like

6.) 13 Jan 2018 23:53:25
Anybody that prefers Hererra to Morelos needs there head examined

Another very disapointing day for us . i'm not saying for 1 minute sack murty but surely the board and allen between them must have some sort of plan for next season . that's us lost the same amount of games as last season already with plentu of hard games to come . people have said there's been progress but where . don't know where we go from here but hope the board do.

Denger27

1.) 17 Mar 2018 19:21:37
Murty needs to have a pre season and summer to recruit based on his performance so far. The progress was there for all to see last weekend, we were competitive against Celtic where under Warburton and Pedro we weren't. The Jan signings have been good, particularly Murphy and Docherty whereas our summer signings are back in Mexico or warming the bench week after week at best. Kilmarnock have been excellent under Clarke and are undefeated against us and Celtic under him, played 5, won 3 and drawn 2. We should be beating Killie at home but it's perfectly natural for there to be a hangover from last weekend considering the hype beforehand and the fact we led twice to go on and lose. Murty has to take responsibility but so do they players he puts out. The man is working with a contract until the end of the season, in hindsight the board should have gave him a 18 month deal to give both him and the players some stability knowing they'd have a go next season. Now we've got some fans calling for him to go after losing two games by a one goal margin against the current champions and form team in the league. For me, Murty must be the man for next season and hopefully beyond. Progress has been made, it's a case of expectations being elevated by us fans too soon. When Pedro left us in a state less than 6 months ago I'd have been delighted with where we are today.

2.) 17 Mar 2018 19:48:34
Very well said. We have improved vastly, but are still needing reinforcement in certain areas. Don't have the options on the bench we need, although we do have 6 players injured. Still work in progress and we need to ride these setbacks and push on to grab 2nd, and hopefully a cup final too. C'mon the Gers!

3.) 17 Mar 2018 19:57:22
Murty is a good coach but I feel for our
club we need a more experienced first
team manager if we give Murty a chance
for next season and results don’t go well
we will be hounding him out so go with
an experienced manager and let Murty
continue his development as under 21
coach and gain more experience to
become a first team manager

4.) 17 Mar 2018 22:06:35
Regardless of who we have in, if things don't go well they will be hounded.

5.) 17 Mar 2018 22:08:17
We would have been happy losing to Kilmarnock? Are u mental? Half the progress is via loan players! Big question mark over 2nd place

6.) 18 Mar 2018 01:16:21
Twisting what I said there pal. Not happy losing to Kilmarnock but from where we were under Pedro to where we are now I'd say the majority of fans are happy.

7.) 18 Mar 2018 08:44:34
Murty is not the answer and progress hasn’t really been made the team are weak especially at home. That was a disgrace yesterday players were hiding and didn’t try

8.) 18 Mar 2018 09:35:05
It's obvious to me that our central positions are our weakness.

Goss has a nice left foot, but lacks any dig. Windass a luxury that we can't always afford, continually goes missing. This leaves Docherty who has a bit of everything.

These players have their strengths, but through new signings or return of injuries, we need alternatives.

We're strong down both wings now, but against any decent, organised teams, tic, hibs, killy, we lose the midfield battles and therefore struggle to build.

Jack, dorrans, mcrorie give the manager options to change that.

Central defence needs fresh blood full stop.

9.) 19 Mar 2018 13:22:02
So why wouldn’t we go for Steve Clarke?

10.) 19 Mar 2018 13:23:01
if Aberdeen win their game in hand we are exactly where we were six months ago- third. With Hibs breathing down our necks

11 Jan 2018 18:53:26
Ano a lot of us including me were angry with naismith and others the way they left but its long been time to move on . Naismith has already stated money is not an issue so the board should send allen out to get him now before its too late and he ends up scoring against us.

Our club is rotten from the core . murtys not blame he's just been made a scapegoat we need to get this clueless penniless board out and get people in who know how to run this great institution . Been following since the 70,s and this is the worst team I've ever watched . Absolutley gutted.

Denger27

1.) 23 Dec 2017 19:42:46
Agree but who comes in to replace board

25 Nov 2017 09:43:34
First time post but just had to say something cause after 5 years of suffering like you all i now feel we've hit a new low . I just feel our club has a deep rooted problem. that's 3 managers who have came in signed players who were good before they came and now doing well elsewhere . There has to be something wrong somewhere in our club and i believe that starts with the board . I do think king does have the best intentions but if him and the rest don't have the money or the knowledge to take us forward it must be time to go .

Denger27

1.) 25 Nov 2017 09:59:38
I agree will you. We buy players with pedigree at the clubs there at then they fail with us. we sell players on who perform for new clubs so coaching and man management seems to be issue there. The board have best intentions however I can’t see any of them having the wealth to take us forward and our current performances and negative media coverage is not going to attract large sponsorship deals. We can’t live if our history and massive support anymore in attracting the best. We need cash quick and a good proven manager to spend it in the right areas.
