At least some of our support is starting to see sense in public.
George et al have led us to disaster, and every single one of you so-called loyal supporters who didn't listen to the ones who were telling you, are responsible too.

You removed my link to Ninjaman's article on the Rangers Supporters Loyal page, without which the statement doesn't make any sense. [cue the 'it didn't make any sense anyway' amazing comebacks]

{Ed001's Note - no link came through.}

2.) 01 Apr 2015 17:36:03
Aye, I for one think you were right all along. How blind we all were. I mean, taking loanees without putting them through medicals, and charging £500k for the gesture, is the way this club should be run.

In all seriousness, anyone attempting to tell us that the former regimes were a better bet, should rerally be out barking at the moon. You are as much a Rangers fan as green teeth.

3.) 02 Apr 2015 10:15:00
See that's the problem. The last board were terrible, nobody is arguing with that. They made decisions which were ludicrous, and were beholden to a corporate bully with no interest in our club.

But that doesn't automatically make the new one any better.

This "Real Rangers Men" thing was made up by them to pander to the tribal support. They need us onside because guess who's going to be paying for all the investment they promise? Not the King over the water, that's for sure.

I was told to "wait, give the board a chance" - well it's been a month now and nothing has happened. The loan/gift is peanuts compared to what we need, and does nothing but plaster over the gaping wound. The NOMAD which was "days away" is nowhere to be seen, and we're up against it. And understand that AIM delisting is not a trifle, it means we have zero chance of your Sarvers etc investing.

Where's the transparency? Where's the 3 year in the making plan?

Where is King, and where is George?

4.) 02 Apr 2015 12:47:03
Who the buck is George? Haha

U still disinterested?

2.) 10 Mar 2015 10:51:38
I've never been disinterested, but what's the point arguing now. The deed is done, let's see where this thing goes.

3.) 10 Mar 2015 15:20:46
What? Why u been using that moniker for years? U have been totally unsupportive of good men who have put their money and reputation on the line for a long time, I take it when these guys succeed in saving Rangers u will come on here and admit you were wrong? Doubt it, they have already banned llamass, leech and sleazedale pending an investigation, the jobs being done right, do u not like that?

4.) 10 Mar 2015 16:35:54
I absolutely would tommy, but it isn't going to happen, so I don't need to worry about it.

I already offered a bottle of malt for George to wager with me about how much King would put into Rangers, an offer he saw fit not to take me up on, never mind match.

King doing it right, you mean like putting Chris Graham on the board?

Laughable.

5.) 10 Mar 2015 22:04:23
Disinterested, I too am cautious of the new dawn, however that is cautiously optimistic. The new board have stated they intend to be open and honest, that is what I have been craving for years and they have ridden that cause to the seat of power. My concern is that whilst their intentions may initially be good, financial dealings are often shrouded and usually subjective.
I will not throw my weight behind the new regime until the answers of our past years are laid bare. I want the whole truth, regardless if they think the fans can handle It or not, it's our club and we deserve to know.

Nick H

6.) 11 Mar 2015 08:59:25
Nick H, that is an honest and wise answer.

If King comes up trumps then I will definitely apologise on here in full, but I don't see it, and since he has a track record of doing things illegally and lying about it, then it makes the level of proof even higher for me.

He may be saying he's going to be transparent, he could start by showing us the deeds, that would instantly get my respect.

A theory.

Imagine when the Rangers holding company went into liquidation, and the sharks moved in. Certain predators, Green and Ashley, saw a grieving fan-base which could be milked for money.

So they manipulated and bought the assets, perhaps ahead of those who might lay a more rightful legitimate claim on them. We will probably never know what happened there.

The hostile atmosphere at the time around Rangers being allowed back into the SPL created a siege mentality, which Green played very well into a battle cry for the first IPO. McCoist was called in to rally the soldiers. Behind the scenes, the money from the IPO was divvied up and siphoned off into onerous contracts, which were made legally bombproof in preparation for the second phase.

Once the money was all spent, it was necessary to keep Rangers alive on a drip feed, and to make sure we got to the cusp of promotion to the Premiership again. The original plan was probably to turn Green into the arch-villain that all the fans wanted shifted, but for some reason his bottle crashed. Ashley had to come out of the shadows and assume that mantle.

So he continued to keep the company alive but still beholden to him, by drip feeding it loans, enough to keep the doors from closing, but not enough to run a decent team or stadium. The Ashley plan was to do another share issue just as we were about to go into the top flight, so we would all feel compelled to buy into the dream, and it would be money all round mark 2. But the SFA rejected it along with his plan to increase ownership.

If there was to be another lucrative IPO, the fans would have to be manipulated again. This entailed constructing another villain-hero narrative, which has always worked in the past with the Rangers support. King and the 3B were to be the saviours, and Ashley the villain. King was to unadvisedly let rip in press interviews about the rogue Ashley was this pantomime villain who the fans had to help to shift.

The press were to be given an exciting face-off storyline which they could run with for weeks. The Daily Record were to be banned from Ibrox, thus increasing the tension. The fans had to believe in a real villain who was out to do them in, postponing EGMs and banning ex-players - and, more importantly, a real hero who was the only hope of salvation, who would battle the evil and overcome them and win the trust of the fans.

The plan was to let them imagine they have achieved a victory at the EGM. The evil Ashley and his boardroom stooges have been vanquished. King is the man we can trust.

The upshot of this adulation is that the IPO makes double what it would have under Ashley alone. You can be sure Ashley has a contractual finger or two in the next IPO pie.

It's all business. King doesn't hate Ashley, Ashley doesn't care about Rangers. They are all stitching the fanbase up again to rake in another 20 or 30 million, but another couple of years of season books riding high on the success of defeating the stooges.

It's a theory. Who knows. For those who think it's a simple case of good vs evil, those people are going to be sadly disappointed.

Lani, I've run out of half-empty glasses. They were all stolen by a succession of liars and chancers, so that's all I see in our future.

4.) 26 Feb 2015 12:54:39
Redemption has to start somewhere. come on, even Germany has been rehabilitated! Very few big concerns get on without levels of shadiness or corruption.after years of listening to how other teams fans have acted whilst we whinged about our fate, real Rangers fans will have a hold on our club, and maybe a seat on the board. I have followed Rangers since 1965, and lived through both 9 in a rows, Barcelona, Easter Road 1975 and 2005, Marseille 1993, Rugby Park 2011 et al. this is probably a more seminal moment in time than any of them. we have to believe!

5.) 26 Feb 2015 12:59:12
I applaud your optimism Lani, have no doubt I'd be happier than anyone if you turn out to be right.

6.) 26 Feb 2015 13:35:31
Disinterest?

I am disinterested in your slow slump into your self deprecating miasma. Totally switched off.

In the real world human being since the dawn of time have believed in something - it is what makes us human, so it is - first it was the sun and the moon gods; then came kings and so forth; then Jesus popped up, but always there were kings aplenty - so us wee silly minded backward thinking, but hopeful Rangers Fans await the second coming in the guise of Dave King and his three wise men to take us to the promised land.

Amen

7.) 26 Feb 2015 14:39:26
Royal, we are a laughing stock for always believing the next "off the radar" spiv that comes along.

Now when the next one is already a convicted crim and along with one of the others was on the board when the last one collapsed - to still hope under these circumstances is insane.

To promise certainty where there is none, as some people do here, is not only bad but frankly evil.

If you don't want to read my opinion, don't. You can always join the line of folk on here.

8.) 26 Feb 2015 16:08:59
Dis?

In my humble opinion, it is always easier to see the bad side of folk and put them down, particularly if they are successful, but evil - come on.

But me and my evil ways, well I like to think that we are here on this earth to do good, be positive and help each other. We all like to belong, hence this forum, which helps gives us Rangers Fans an idea of how the club is managing and being managed. If we thought that every Tom, Dick or Harry who came along was evil, with evil intent then we would all have bought shares and formed groups a long time ago. It is the good in people that has brought us all together; it is the good in people that is trying to save the club - if that is evil then I think it is in your mind.

I would suggest a chill pill than have a rethink on your outlook in life, especially the evil part.

Be Safe, Be Happy and Be Good!

From today's Evening Times.

"WALTER SMITH has backed Ally McCoist to make a return to management - and reckons he will be stronger for the trials and tribulations of his Rangers tenure. "

Great.

DisinterestedExpat

{Ed001's Note - something for you all to look forward to when Rangers make their return to the top flight then! ;)

1.) 14 Jan 2015 09:58:49
He did say not in this country!
r. f

2.) Disexpat, Walter probably liked his tactics as they were the same as deployed many a time by himself.
Walter was assisted by having some great players, that helped him through, but the tactics he deployed during the ''10 in a row'' season were a nightmare and I won't even mention our night in Manchester.
I think it is very long odds that Ally would be a successful coach/manager anywhere.

3.) Ally can only look upwards let's face it he can't do any worse

4.) Yes, Walter did have great players but so did his main SPL rivals like Celtic who could field the likes of de Canio and Paul McStay during his time in charge.

Ally had internationals who were being outplayed by part timers from the likes of Alloa. Therein lies the big difference.

5.) Macoist is to football management as crippin was to medicine

6.) Mccoist will never be a football manager in any country, he might be employed by some blind, deaf, insane nutjob but he cannot manage so would fail regardless he nearly destroyed our football team over 2 years

redsox555

7.) Hope he goes back to question of sport because that is one place that is not better without and I am not joking.

8.) Redsox555
Once again you let yourself down with ridiculous comments - destroyed our club over 2 season.! Get a grip, won both championships at a canter and was second in the championship prior to being undermind by a board that sold our most promising player.

9.) Gers 09- hope Mcoist puts more effort into developing his garden, than he did with Rangers youth development, however suspect he`ll take the easy route as usual, put his feet up and get the cheque book out.

10.) If you have spent millions on wages for SPFL premier league level players and are playing part time teams it is actually a formality to win. To then, in knowing that REFUSE to develop our best youth players in these games is in my mind what led to Rangers being the worst quality footballing side in my 50 years of watching them, that is a long time and I saw Billy Urquart and Jim Denny in Rangers strips so I know a pish footballer when I see one ;-)

mccoist was devoid of any tactical ability and his signings, substitutions and choice of player positions were all a joke.

I based my opinion on all these facts and sad as it is for a former hero, he was "Pure gash" to quote Shakespeare.

Sorry but he was also hugely responsible for the low attendances the football was the most predictable and boring again in 50 years I have followed Rangers

redsox555

ps sorry the mccoist era is over I do not mean to bring him up and won't again

11.) Bluebeard. What team do you think he will be using the check book at next, and when, roughly

The Evening Tim is reporting that Souness says he was involved in the recent Kennedy bid. The idea of Souness getting involved gets my juices going, a real Rangers man, hard-nosed, with good business sense.

If only the club wasn't being continually handed from one spiv to another to take a bit each in a sickening game of pass-the-parcel, where the good guys like Kennedy and Souness are passed over by the people with the power to choose who gets the next shot at the ba'.

DisinterestedExpat

1.) 14 Nov 2014 12:01:03
How do u know Kennedy a good guy?and souness yes rangers fan did jump ship though a month before the end of the season to sign for Liverpool which i thought was lousy as feck!!all good in the end though thanks to big hately

2.) I'm using the simple measurement that the spivs didn't want to hand over the ball to him.

3.) I agree ryan, i remember souness doing a interview at the 1986 world cup, about how he would love to go into management, and would love to do that at the club he always supported, rangers. as he left to join liverpool he claimed the pull of liverpool was to great, sorry souncess, but no club in the world has the pull of rangers, to a real rangers supporters ( rangers men ) !!!

4.) Expat sorry but if you want the "ba" then a three million loan is not going to get you it, do you think shareholders are going to give up their shares because souness is an ok guy

Some shareholders will sell if they get the right offer, it just hasn't been made yet

JG

5.) Maybe I'm just harking back to my own 'golden days' when I was younger and Rangers with Souness in charge were a force to be reckoned with. I'd go back there in a heartbeat to escape the current rubbish.

Yes, it's probably nonsense, but I'm a sentimental sod.

parky,

Since the club have to make up any shortfall in the amount sold at "near retail" price, then it bothers Ashley not one bit how few are sold. He gets the money anyway.

Rangers continue to get 7.5% of the money from every shirt sold, so we'd have to buy 4 times the shirts each to match what Celtic get from their retail deal.

The idea of us being able to "outspend" Celtic fans in retail alone is ridiculous, but unfortunately it's not the most ridiculous thing King has said.

DK said one thing which justifies what I've always been saying about him:

"Rangers football club will only be number 1 in Scotland again when the Rangers fans start outspending the Celtic fans. If the Rangers fans stop doing that or continue to withhold funds Rangers will never be as big as Celtic."

In other words, "get yer wallets oot because I'm no payin"

You might be a new poster, but this is the same old crap from the head-in-the-sand brigade, accusing anyone with legit criticism of the board of being timmy. Stroll on.

King has been promising to invest since before the EGM - which was now over 3 months ago. Where was his NOMAD? Where was the ISDX? Where is the investment he promised. the £30m, I mean £15m I mean we'll have to see. We've been ticking over on the drip-feed of the 3B since then, with no input from him. The whole charade about waiting for the 'fit and proper' before investment was a lie when he said it, contradicting what he said earlier about investing without it, and even the FAP test was a month ago now. Where's the money, Mr King?

Mark my words, the only investment Rangers will see will be from the hard-pushed fans. Again. Forget King, he's nothing but a serial BSer and it's fans like you who humble themselves and doff their caps at the sight of a blazer who are taking us down the pan. Again.

All it means is the club reverts back to taking 51% of the retail income instead of whatever we get now, not that we have 51% of the control.

Imagine you own 49% of a company with your pal, and he decides because he's got 51% and he thinks this gives him a voting majority, he's decided you now only own 10% instead. That's called theft.

Your pal can offer to buy you out, but you don't have to say yes if you don't want to. Your pal can dilute your shareholding by making a further share issue, but company law says you can't without 75% of the existing shareholders agreeing.

And the board can offer to buy Ashley out of his share, if we can convince him to do so. He wants £25 million. Since we can't even afford to pay him back his £5million loan to get a chunk of the retail back, that seems highly unlikely to happen.
