Why no grezda on the bench?

Dunoonbluebear

1.) 02 Sep 2018 11:39:06
Dunoon injured not played since may.

2.) 02 Sep 2018 11:39:42
No got clearance yet .

3.) 02 Sep 2018 12:00:33
Yeah he has clearance but he's hardly played since last season, badly needs fitness and guessing he's not anywhere near ready yet.

4.) 02 Sep 2018 14:15:43
He doesn't have clearance until after international break.

5.) 02 Sep 2018 14:29:22
He has clearance, u can't sign if no work permit. Unless off course gerrard wrong.

6.) 03 Sep 2018 07:41:27
If you listened to Gerrard post match, he mentioned about getting a few injured bodies fit and available after the break, those being coulibally, grezda, Dorrans and somebody else. So he has a permit and clearance, he's just been injured.

7.) 04 Sep 2018 09:01:16
And he didn't mention Rossiter, unfortunately.

Hello fellow bears. I have a genuine rumour here. Whether you's believe me or not, I don't really care. I very rarely come on here with solid rumours. Anyway. There I was today minding my own business in work as u do (I work as a chef btw and we have an open kitchen) and Neil Warnock pops past the kitchen. Random I know. So I begin a convo with him about football and tell him I'm a rangers man. He then asks me my opinion on barrie mckay and I tell him honestly that he's got potential but rarely turns up for games and he said and I quote "I was thinking of taking a gamble on him". I then had a joke with him and said we'll accept 10 Mil for him and he just laughed and went back upstairs so I could cook his food. As I said guys if u believe me or not I'm not fussed. But I promise it is genuine. Nothing may materialise from it all but we'll see. Thoughts?

Dunoonbluebear

1.) 27 Jun 2017 18:46:36
Hahahahahahahahaha did he aye, just happens to ask the chef for a low down on a player
Gee piece man

2.) 27 Jun 2017 18:57:40
Did you give his dog some sausages?

3.) 27 Jun 2017 19:23:47
As I said I'm not fussed if you's believe me or not. I know it's true. I admit it's strange that he asked me about a player but it is what it is.

4.) 27 Jun 2017 20:08:26
I don't think this is unreasonable tbh, cheers mate.

5.) 27 Jun 2017 21:27:48
Is the kitchen you work in the asdas outside Ibrox and Warnock realised your advice was first class especially on saving money but seriously a manager would not approach a player in contract without permission of the club would not travel miles to scout a player when they are not involved in a game and only training behind closed doors and especially would not disclose any specific targets to a chef if you had said he was up scouting a player in Glasgow it would be believable

6.) 27 Jun 2017 21:50:48
This is a new one football Roumers from a kind of upmarket Chippie

7.) 27 Jun 2017 22:09:41
Could be true Neil Warnock has a house in bridge of weir

8.) 27 Jun 2017 22:17:19
What a load of garbage do you drive from Dunoon to Murray Park every day for work?

9.) 27 Jun 2017 22:31:03
dunoonbluebear, clearly you are fussed or you wouldn't have replied back. but saying that. I was Manchester last week and pep asked me the same thing. told him the boy is a chip off the old block and he should buy him for £5million plus a 30% sell on clause plus a player on loan for the next 2 seasons. said jeus Gabriel would do. if not him then maybe just maybe David Silva. but hey we can wish I suppose. hahahaha

10.) 27 Jun 2017 23:45:35
Atleast some of you's actually believe me. He actually has a house in dunoon aswell and visits regularly. It was just a general enquiry from him. He didn't get a paper and pen out or have an agent with him or anything like that! Ha he was having lunch with his wife. He asked me how barrie was as a player and said he was thinking of a gamble. He was a very pleasant man and easy to talk to. Whether he was serious or not I don't know. Just passing on genuine info bears.

11.) 28 Jun 2017 08:23:12
I wouldn't worry about it. Most on here are just as bad as key board warriors. Unless it's yesterday's news they're only interested in making fun of it. I personally don't see why it's hard to believe that he would ask someone's opinion. It's not like he's going to take your word on it but as you said you were just making small talk.

12.) 28 Jun 2017 08:50:48
I thought that's what a rumour page was for just passing on information that we've heard I mean let's be honest there's been some belters on here at times like Drogba, Ibra, RVP, Terry, Lampard which are all way way made up, so Dunnoon bears information about a casual chat with Neil Warnock seems plausible to me

13.) 28 Jun 2017 09:07:18
Christ, you'd think he was reporting an RVP rumour the way some of you are reacting. Does he have a history of BS posts to justify a troll type response from folk? . Sounds such a random encounter it's likely true. It's not exactly an exciting (attention seeking) post either, is it? Warnock was clearly making small talk with a guy that said he supported Rangers and asked his opinion, just to be nice.

Just a wee word for candieas. He was the hardest working player I can remember since wee nacho. He gave his all for the club, of which we could not of asked anymore. Might be a mistake to let him go, particularly for the price. But all I can say is good luck to you, and who will forget his backheel to get Alfredo in on goal against rapid vienna to get the winner? It was moments like that we all craved for years to have back at Ibrox and he was part of that. Once a ger. Always a ger 🇬🇧.

1.) 23 Jul 2019 16:43:56
Dunoon nota mistake, last twelve months high wages did not want to stay.

2.) 23 Jul 2019 19:36:20
Wish him all the best, let’s move on to better!

26 Apr 2019 00:57:25
Hi fellow bears. Haven't posted in a long while. Having time to reflect on the season (dispite the fact the league isn't quite over yet) I think there's been as many mistakes from certain players as there has been from Gerrard. From the players point of view, tav is never a rangers captain and dispite the fact he can have the odd good game going forward he's also never a defender, never has been since he first came in and when he misplaced that pass against the mhanks that really sealed it for me.

no concentration when it matters most and had we got something from that game which I think we deserved, the league table could be looking a lot better, if some club in England offers 5 mil plus for him then bite their hand off, plenty better rb's out there who can also defend.

On the subject (and mystery) that is morelos. He's the highest goalscorer we've had since jelavic (please correct me if I'm wrong) which considering how bad we've been in recent years does speak volumes, superb talent on his day but his temper let's him down too often. He was a steal for £1 mil, again if someone offers us £14 mil plus then get rid.

His heart is already set away from ibrox anyway so we don't want players who don't really want to be here. Barasic and grezda, very disappointed in both, I actually thought when Barasic came in he literally looked like a world class lb, but since then has gone into a shell, and grezda isn't worth talking about, £2 mil wasted, I'll get shot for saying this but I think Pena, given the chance, would of done a better job (technically he did stats wise) but the biggest gripe for me, is from Gerrard.

Almost the second he split goldson and katic up is when our defense, and along with it our season started to fall apert, worrall (apart from the celtic game at Ibrox) has been a total disaster, thank God he's only on loan, katic for me all day, the guy is going to be a class act the more he plays. As I said at the start of the post mistakes from the players and the manager, but I think we can all see a genuine improvement since Stevie g came in and hopefully we can push on from here next season.

there's better captains and rb's out there than tav, and there's better strikers with less of a temper than morelos out there aswell. No player is bigger than the club and if we at least sort those two positions out I think we are in for a shout next season.

On a brighter note, arfield, Jack, Kent and Shagger have been immense this season and Kamara looks like the deal of the century for 50k, he's a class act. Onwards and upwards bears. # #55 #letsgo 🇬🇧🔴⚪🔵.

Dunoonbluebear

1.) 26 Apr 2019 07:01:10
I like kent but I don't think he's been immense this season. When we got SG as manager we got someone learning his trade and he's made some real dodgy decisions . Playing Worral being the worst. This season has been one of missed opportunities. BUT if we get rid of the dead weight, signing quality over quantity this summer we could have a good year next season.

2.) 26 Apr 2019 09:21:19
I was with you Dunoonbluebear until your remark about Pena. You must be having a laugh! I agree about getting rid of Morelos for as much as we can. Though he's scored lots of goals his indiscipline has undoubtedly cost us points. I'd keep Tavernier though, I think he is class. After the performances of our youth team and the development squad this season surely two or three of these lads will be given a chance? Looking forward to seeing how Hastie and Jones fit into the squad. Hastie in particular looks a big, physical lad who can score goals.

3.) 26 Apr 2019 11:49:15
Has Hastie actually signed yet? Pena was just a guy with too many problems, drinking to excess and professional football do not mix, something has to give .

4.) 26 Apr 2019 14:16:28
I agree about pena. But you can't argue that he showed afew moments of magic. Just ashame he couldn't keep his addiction to a minimum. A creative midfielder is what we are missing though.

5.) 26 Apr 2019 14:25:04
Pena (allowing for his personal probs ) like a lot of signings and up and coming young guys don't really get much of a chance to prove they can do it. Remember a 16 year old called Derek Johnstone? Time to get real with our squad, every matchday the bench should have at least 2 youngsters who have talent and could be relied on to give their best if called on as subs. We have to develop yes, but for now there seems to be no end game for these youngsters, and I feel heart sorry for them.

6.) 26 Apr 2019 14:40:46
Richie 1 that would be a good move, two young talented players seeing what it’s all about to be a first teamer, I believe Stevie G. would do what you suggest and build on his youth. On the bench doesn’t mean play but for a 17 year old to get that sort of experience would be some buzz especially at Ibrox with those fans.

7.) 26 Apr 2019 14:48:53
Well Pena was a Mexican international so your right the talent was there, bad advisors probably and to much money at a young age . And if he found it hard to hack it in his homeland what chance had he in a foreign country, most players settle but he was an exception methinks. Pity because he certainly had talent.

8.) 26 Apr 2019 15:31:32
It's all very well saying there are better captains/ strikers/ right-backs etc etc out there - but WE CAN'T AFFORD ANY OF THEM, so let's get behind the guys we have. Realistically, all the fringe players (grezda, lafferty etc) are about as much quality as our finances will stretch to - so we could sell our best players and just get a team full of squad players instead. You guys slating the captain and our top goalscorer should be careful what you wish for.

9.) 26 Apr 2019 18:46:49
S. G is the man for the job the confidence must be at its highest inside the home dressing room at Ibrox than its seen in 7 -8 years we’ve played good when it’s not matters as much I. e these last few games but he’s showing he’s got the tactics like the new year Celtic game like some of the European games all he needs now is consistency and for a first year manager I think he’s went pretty good! . good point on the Pena situation was also thinking the same myself the guy Grezda looked good for the Croatian mob but coming to a team the size of rangers just dosnt suit some players mentality.

10.) 26 Apr 2019 20:04:05
I agree with Souness, we have what we can afford. we can't go out buying proven this and proven that. how much would it cost to buy a 28 goal machine and don't say there are ones in our league, of course they aren't and yes he is a liability with his temper. i think he will come good on that front especially having to sit out for 4 games and took a fine also. having youngsters on the bench great, but i guarantee you they won't be played unless we have effectively won the match, they certainly won't come on to change a game because us fans would crucify them if things don't go quite right. so that's the issue we as fans want a win every week or its not good enough and what would that do for the confidence of a 17/ 18 year old.

11.) 27 Apr 2019 13:15:23
@DBbear - so you want £5 million plus for a player who ‘ is never a captain, can’t concentrate when it matters and can’t defend’?
You should join the list of ‘fans’ on here who want rid of the liability that is Morelos but won’t accept anything less than £12 - £15 million!
So being honest, if you want rid of players due to ‘ talent or temperament ‘ why should other clubs pay decent money for them?

12.) 27 Apr 2019 14:10:47
@uj did barcelona not pay a large fee for Luis Suarez after his biting incidents in the premier league and the world cup? He's been a revelation since then. So does that not prove that players can change their tune with a different club and more money?

23 Dec 2018 18:24:42
I hope all the morelos haters will have a wee seat now, the guy (albeit has his faults) is class! Easily the best striker we've had since jelavic! He's pivotal to our side, anyone who argues it is wrong.

Dunoonbluebear

1.) 23 Dec 2018 18:46:54
Here here, Dunoonbluebear!

2.) 23 Dec 2018 20:19:22
Iv always like moralos could never understand his haters for me he is a top top player.

3.) 23 Dec 2018 20:38:41
I think the fans who say they don’t rate him are just too stubborn to change their first opinion of him. He gets refereed to a different standard bc refs have the stereotype of him being a hothead when he arrived.

4.) 23 Dec 2018 20:41:26
Dunoonbluebesr

Who are the Morelos haters you talk about?

5.) 23 Dec 2018 21:38:37
There were loads of Morelos haters on here not as many now but there are still some who can't accept him for what he is.

6.) 23 Dec 2018 22:55:17
Arthur d, There was plenty of said morelos haters, calling for his head because he got himself sent off afew times this season, I'm pretty sure he has made up for that, when was the last time we had a striker who has nearly 20 goals before Xmas? It sounds to me that you may well be an Alfredo hater and your just raging because you've been proved wrong. Just can't please some supporters! #elbuffalo # #support the team #55 #letsgo.

7.) 23 Dec 2018 23:42:15
Heard the boo boys at half time.

These are more than likely the ones wanting Stevie sacked already.

8.) 24 Dec 2018 00:11:16
Dunoonbluebear

Maybe a few people on here criticized him but not sure anyone actually hated him. Think some people still need to be convinced about him and he really needs to start scoring against Celtic to be considered a great Rangers striker. Let’s hope he breaks his duck on Saturday.

9.) 24 Dec 2018 00:25:09
Watch the Stevie G interview. Thinks the boos should have been louder. Play pish you rightly get booed. Sort it out, u get acclaim. Simple.

10.) 24 Dec 2018 09:58:57
Bindo. Boyd I think only scored 1 against Celtic in all the time he was with us and he was one of the best strikers we have had.

05 Dec 2018 21:54:42
Poor result tonight but it's not the end of the world. The only saving grace was motherwell equalising. Fact is the mhanks beat us in the old firm yet we are still ahead. This time last season we were miles behind in the league. let's look at the positives for once rather than the negatives. It's jsut another bump in the road. We go again on Sunday! 🇬🇧🔴⚪🔵🇬🇧.

Dunoonbluebear

1.) 05 Dec 2018 22:29:42
They have a game in hand.

2.) 05 Dec 2018 22:54:12
Some people need to calm down. Look at the league table we are in the mix. SG doing well yet some fans still not happy. We slipped up tonight but we head for Dundee on sun. This month is the most demanding month of the season we need to stick together.

Give the boy some time for godsake! He's barely kicked a ball for us and your slating him already. All of Gerrards signings so far have been decent so I see no reason why he won't come good. If he gets a chance at hampden on a nice big pitch I think we'll see a better player.

Let's not be negative about tonight. Yes we could of won the game but did we honestly think at the start of the season that we would even be in the europa league group stage? Let alone joint top of the group after the half way mark. Things are looking good. Onwards to the semi final now!

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Yes its fantastic that we are top, but we've been down this road before. Hopefully Gerrard can keep the players grounded. Still a long way to go. More of the same would good though.

I was at the game today, and to say that Halliday is the best left back we have is totally ridiculous! Not only is Halliday not the best left back we have, I'd go as far to say he's probably one of, if not the worst player we have in all positions. The reason people stick up for him is because he loves the club as much as we do, if it was some unknown foreigner who played like he does in general, and like he played today then every fan would be on his case and he would probably be away by now.

The guy is mince, and part of a by gone era from when the whole squad was of that standard. Not sure if you were at the game op, but just after we got the equaliser today, livingston went straight up the other end and scored but it was pulled back for a free kick to us. Regardless of that fact, Halliday didn't know that the free kick had been given at the time and I've never seen such poor defending in my life!

He let the ball come right over, let it bounce about 5 times and then just let the livi player muscle him right off the ball, and in different circumstances could of cost us today. If we're arguing solely on our best left back then atm it's barisic for me, and with a decent run of games will only get better, atleast he can swing a cross in and make a clearence at the back when need be. Ojo was particularly poor today aswell but atleast we can ship him back to Liverpool when all said and done. Halliday needs off the wage bill pronto imo. Give one of the youth boys a chance. Anything but him.

Papac was one of the best left backs I've seen at Ibrox in recent years. He didn't get the nickname "Mr reliable" for nothing. He wasn't spectacular in the slightest, but he went on the pitch, done his job and went home. We could do with more of that from some of our players just now.
