Stevie naismith says he'll play for free to earn a deal with us. So who wouldn't want him back. Me I'd take him in a minute.

Gary75

1.) 07 Jan 2018 23:51:12
Personally, I think it’s the least he owes us for the unnecessary press conference when he left. We never received a fee for him and that was his prerogative for which he has lined his pockets ever since! I ain’t one to hold a grudge however and I’d give him the chance to earn a longer deal in the 2nd half of the season provided Norwich rip up his contract. I completely understand those who want him nowhere near the club though!

2.) 08 Jan 2018 05:08:33
Naisy for free till the end of the season why not, shows he's keen to play for the badge so let's get him in.

3.) 08 Jan 2018 08:45:11
Did he actually say that though?

4.) 08 Jan 2018 08:45:38
Making someone work worse free is unethical and unfair. Gaining in anyway from effectively a slave workforce is terrible. Right up their street. 😂

5.) 08 Jan 2018 09:00:26
I thought you couldn't play for free if you are under contract it has to have some sort of wage unless he is planning on donating what ever wage that would be to somewhere but personally I can't see him coming back to rangers he is a decent player but for what we are needing I think he is at the wrong end of his career I'd prefer to go for a younger option who will have more years in front of them playing wise and who will have more of a sell on value that will benefit rangers

6.) 08 Jan 2018 09:38:43
I think it’s the sentiment behind it that’s the key, we would obviously have to pay him something ie £1500 per week or something but would be way off what he could get elsewhere on a bosman

7.) 08 Jan 2018 12:18:53
Whilst I do think Naismith would strengthen our squad, I also believe he owes the Rangers support a full apology for his past behaviour. As I recall, Rangers paid Naismith handsomely for a long period during which he was injured. He could easily have moved on whilst (like Steve Davis) securing a fee for Rangers who really needed it at the time. However, he chose no to and I'm sure that was to his benefit financially. To now 'supposedly' offer to play for free seems to indicate his mind-set is still all about the 'money'. Yes, playing for free would be a great gesture but first and foremost, man up and admit that the way you departed was unfair on both club and support and apologise unreservedly, only maybe then will the Rangers support be prepared to accept him back. If not, then no thanks.

8.) 08 Jan 2018 12:25:11
Id wipe old peoples arses for 1500 quid a week. poor naismith having to play football for his boyhood heroes for that

9.) 08 Jan 2018 12:42:03
Lets be honest he seen through the Bull charles green was spouting and what he thought was best and tried to warn everyone and guess what lads it was all true so he owes us nothing as far as i'm concerned. if he's good enough i will welcome him back in a heart beat he is better than what we have signed recently.

10.) 08 Jan 2018 12:46:36
R. T. I. D i will give Ed my contact details and someone will be in touch with you soon.

11.) 08 Jan 2018 12:54:34
Naismith? What he did back in the day will be a sore one for a lot off rangers fans to except after all he has a family to look after and in any walks of life you look after number one and in my eyes he did
but if the guy is willing to come back and even play for a small amount (wages ) so be it you are more then welcome in my eyes you have always showed that you are a true blue at heart and this is want this great club is about

12.) 08 Jan 2018 13:36:03
I’m sure he apologized recently and took responsibility for how he left the club . Until recently I would agree with all those who are against his return, however I want our club back being competitive and he would help achieve this - if we get him cheap enough and on a pay as you play basis - then what’s the risk.
He’s a proven international player who genuinely loves the club - in my eyes the more of them the better

I hope this window sees a rangers team constructed with players who understand what it is to play for the Jersey

13.) 08 Jan 2018 14:41:46
Injury prone

14.) 09 Jan 2018 09:13:00
Liam1990

Your happy then that he held a press conference and declared Rangers dead then?

15.) 09 Jan 2018 23:06:16
Aye spot on Stewie. That was absolutely 100 per cent unforgivable and completely unnecessary. The wee rat can gtf for me, I will never forget what he and shittaker did that day.

05 Nov 2017 11:36:39
I've said before if we gave to get someone in I back billy reid, but for someone that knows the club all the youth it has to be murty. I would hate mcinnes to come in and start signing players from the sheep. Next week we play Hamilton and a win will see is get three wins in a row for the first time in ages then surely murty will have eclipsed Pedro and the breadman and be a genuine contender, if we go into the Aberdeen games unbeaten and come away with 4 or 6 points surely mcinnes would be out the window and murty the only choice.

gary75

1.) 05 Nov 2017 12:04:47
Think the new manager will be in place this week and will give him two weeks almost before the Hamilton game tbh. Because of the International

2.) 05 Nov 2017 12:18:16
I’d take a punt on Reid Gary75 however I’d love Potter in with him!

3.) 05 Nov 2017 13:08:55
Potter / Reid ideal.

4.) 05 Nov 2017 13:48:41
Mcinnes is proven in our league, we can't afford more gambles like reid potter etc. Why wouldn't we sign players from aberdeen? Mclean shinnie are better than what we have same with moult. Who cares who they play with. We have been signing the best players from spl teams for years, naismith, whittaker, novo etc and its won us titles so what's the problem?

5.) 05 Nov 2017 14:30:29
Got to disagree Coldplay, Shinnie and McLean are at best equal to what we have and raiding Aberdeen for any one of their squad would be a sideways step.

The only Prem player I’d be after is Moult and that’s purely because he would be good business due his contract running down.

Shinnie and McLean couldn’t lace Dorrans boots when fit and firing which I’m sure he’ll do once playing more advanced

6.) 05 Nov 2017 14:31:29
*coldo not Coldplay haha.

Bloody iPhones 😤

7.) 05 Nov 2017 15:25:45
Mcinnes no brainer ticks all the boxes foe me .
Lets see what he's like when he can get a better std of player in, give him three windows to get his players in xmas next summer and next xmas again then we judge.

8.) 05 Nov 2017 18:24:40
McLean is a no brained for me. Cracking player but aside from him wouldn’t take anyone else. Maybe that right back because the tims hate him lol

9.) 05 Nov 2017 22:25:47
Aww wee-bear that was classic. Chris Martin will b buzzing his band have got abit of exposure on Rangers Rumours 🥁 🎶

10.) 06 Nov 2017 08:05:02
Mcleish? God we were dying to get shot of him 11 years ago .

11.) 06 Nov 2017 08:21:22
Mcinnes record in qualifying for Europe and against Celtic is not good enough surely the board can see it.

12.) 06 Nov 2017 08:23:01
Doesn't tick a single box for many thousands of fans. A huge backward step and a signal that we're no longer in the business of catching and overtaking The Hoops.

13.) 06 Nov 2017 08:27:43
Shinnie and Mclean are better than dorrans.

14.) 06 Nov 2017 09:07:02
@punter - why should McInnes get 3 windows when we've chased the last couple of managers out the door in less time? So if McInnes makes an arse of the first 2 windows you'll happily give him a third? Is that because he's a Real Rangers Man?
Or are you willing to take a couple of years of hurt to allow someone to actually build a squad capable of competing with Celtic in a couple of years time?

28 Apr 2016 22:24:59
Was working in Newton Mearns today and bumped into waggy in grill 77 says he will be definitely back for the cup final, thank God we've missed him the last few weeks.

I would like to take the opportunity to welcome back jimmy Nichol, loved him as a player no nonsense diehard rangers man. As a player his mix of skill and toughness is something our team has lacked if he can instill that in these players we have I can see us running celtic to the wire.

gary75

1.) 04 Jan 2018 20:11:38
Wat has he achieved in management?

2.) 04 Jan 2018 20:25:34
Why this continued negative s***e? I wholeheartedly welcome jimmy nicholl back to rangers as murty's assistant! He's a very good coach and a better no.2 than a manager! Has the makings of a good rangers management team, where jimmy nicholl's experience will be invaluable! We have to be the worst supporters at putting someone down, when they come to our great football club, instead of giving them total backing and waiting to see how they do!

3.) 04 Jan 2018 20:34:30
He always did better as an assistant but he is one of our own

4.) 04 Jan 2018 20:43:23
DSGersfan a good assistant doesn't always have to have been a good manager in their own right.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 21:44:59
DSGERSFAN, you having a laugh mate? Jimmy Nic managed Raith when they beat the rotten mob at Ibrox to win the league cup as a 1st div team! Took them into EUROPE and played very well against none other than Bayern Munich. Has amassed a wealth of experience in club and international management. He will be an excellent Assistant to GM. Some of the comments on this site utterly dumbfound me at times seriously!

6.) 04 Jan 2018 21:56:49
Why do some of our fans find fault with things before giving people a chance. I welcome jimmy nicholl back to the club. The guy has forgot more than a lot of people in the game know. Welcome home jimmy.

7.) 05 Jan 2018 08:46:08
When I read some of the comments on here I truly believe some of the contributors must be supporters of other clubs that just hate Rangers and come on here to sow discontent.

8.) 05 Jan 2018 08:58:01
Kl a I take your points guys

9.) 05 Jan 2018 12:56:50
Played under Jimmy Nich for a couple of years and he is some character! Think he will be a great addition as he is almost the polar opposite of Murty and will give a balance in the changing room.

10.) 05 Jan 2018 12:57:09
Dsgersfan, you always have to put a downer on everything what does it matter what he’s done in management he’s not our manager he’s in there to be a number 2 Murty is the manager so what’s your question.

11.) 05 Jan 2018 13:00:03
A coaches job at Rangers that's what he's achieved.

12.) 05 Jan 2018 13:01:11
Not a manager but good coach and tactician. Will make a difference and that's from a Celtic fan. Good appointment.

13.) 05 Jan 2018 13:31:29
Nicholl is a great appointment, we have been crying out for these type of guys. Guys who know our game and the type of player needed for our game. Murphy is a great buy also.

30 Dec 2017 14:02:11
I thought all nine of our players were excellent imagine what could have been if we had pena or barjonas on the pitch instead of niko and windass I always want our players to come good but big bruno does not want to be here so thank god for Bates, wilson and mccrorrie they really make him look ordinary, tav and candias were magnificent today working tirelessly, morelos really deserved a goal but what a great example for someone so young getting back hussling the opposition all the time. Where did sky get the possession stats bbc and Google have us on 46% and watching it I'd go with that but for sky to come away with 36% what a load of bs.

gary75

1.) 30 Dec 2017 14:04:31
Alves was injured what do you mean?

2.) 30 Dec 2017 14:26:32
Proud of every one of them. Except Alves. He will be away in Jan. On today’s showing I’d give Wilson and Bates the CB jerseys till end of season and see if they can be the pairing that’s needed at spine of team.

3.) 30 Dec 2017 14:28:32
He has no heart or interest, plenty out there would push through the pain not him and does he look much better than our other options no not a chance. What could we do with the wages we pay him

4.) 30 Dec 2017 17:31:07
Gary, pena are you serious, this guy is a clown and is nowhere near any better than windass or krancjar. Deonbear, do you talk shoite as a hobby? Alves bottled it AGAIN!

5.) 30 Dec 2017 20:11:27
Where has this opinion that Alves bottled it and feigned injury came from exactly? In his post match interview Murty said he was in a lot of pain and discomfort and on crutches.

08 Dec 2017 10:49:31
Who cares about mcinnes and as for coop 72 saying no one wants the job that's nonsense we are rangers we are used to people not liking us. I do find it funny that after every bit of so called bad news there is an influx of names that you've never seen before putting in their two bob of negativity are they rangers supporters I doubt it as where were they when there was good things to say. Mcinnes has made his bed so let him lay in it and after the last two matches that bed looks like it's been pushed. Let's get someone decent in.

gary75

07 Dec 2017 21:02:59
I'm glad dm ain't coming, let's go for Potter and reid, if not Steve Clark or Michael o'neil.

gary75

1.) 07 Dec 2017 22:19:44
Mcleish or tommy wright

2.) 08 Dec 2017 01:25:28
tommy wright
wot?

03 Dec 2017 13:46:29
Willie collum is a joke, shinning should have had 4 yellow cards so far and Jack who has been outstanding gets sent off for his first offence.

gary75

1.) 03 Dec 2017 14:01:14
Aye and Windass has had more than enough fouls since his blatant cheating to be sent off! And first offence! He nearly broke the boys ankle! But once u appeal it u’ll finally have your 3 in a row eh!

2.) 03 Dec 2017 14:24:43
If its appealed and overturned for our '3 in a row' as you say, that just proves it wasnt a red card offence and also that you are wrong? Try and type more than one sentence before you contradict yourself mate.

3.) 03 Dec 2017 14:25:43
That tackle was a leg breaker and a straight red at any time of the game

4.) 03 Dec 2017 14:29:02
Watching things in slow motion as they do in replays does not tell the story it makes it seem more dramatical, and shinnie should have been off

5.) 03 Dec 2017 14:48:26
Snell what’s contradictory about saying once u appeal u will finally have 3 in a row? And if it’s right or wrong makes no difference when it comes to jack as his previous 2 appeals have proven!

6.) 03 Dec 2017 14:49:45
some amount of dhims on here the day. can't stand to see us have a successful week and have to try and stir it.

7.) 03 Dec 2017 14:59:42
Smell Stevie wonder could see that was a straight red, next you will be telling us that it was a gust of wind that knocked windyass over and he didn't dive

8.) 03 Dec 2017 15:02:45
It wasn't a tackle, Jack cleared the ball and at the point where he was following through the ball yer man put his leg in the way. It was an odd one and my initial reaction was not a red card offence because of what I've just said. However, it was as you say, a leg breaker, and for that reason, and to stop players from playing a ball in that manner, then I feel a red card was justified.

I'm not looking at it through blue specs, just from a footballing perspective, before any of you start!
My opinion may be wrong and not everyone's cup of tea but it is only an opinion.

9.) 03 Dec 2017 15:02:55
nah definitely a dive mate. can blame him for trying when he sees how easy it is for your lot to con refs

10.) 03 Dec 2017 15:19:42
If Jack wins yet another appeal dies that not show how bad our refs are, windass deservedly got a yellow for diving, if u play for celtic on the other had you get a pen, but then we can admit when we got a dodgy decision

11.) 03 Dec 2017 15:26:02
It's only a dive if there is no contact .

12.) 03 Dec 2017 15:56:37
Ballochi come on, if you genuinely think that the two penalties your lot got this week were not dives then you are of your rocker.

#obsessed

13.) 03 Dec 2017 16:11:34
86, did you HONESTLY think that that was a red? And I mean HONESTLY. I don't care what team that got that decision, I believe it was wrong, you have to be able to go into those tackles (? ) or the game is in trouble. If you really thought it was red then fine but can you explain why its red? Or is it just because you are a tim?

14.) 03 Dec 2017 17:15:05
Jyf that’s a red card all day long! May was lucky to not suffer a broken ankle! Yes jack got the ball but he went right over the top of it into a stamp! Nobody said u can’t go into tackles but not when it can seriously hurt another player! Jacks proved time and again he’s not got the temperament in games! But if you think it wasn’t a red we’ll see if your club appeals it again!

15.) 03 Dec 2017 17:18:42
exactly Jyf, they have nothing to contribute and no intention of being balanced or fair, its purely a routine of taking the piss. There are loads of great guys out there who support celtic but on here, well, you know, eh? . That wasnt even a yellow. Jack played the ball in a 50/ 50 and won it. it wasn't a two footed lunge and he had time to pull out. no card. Brown gets away with much worse every week.

16.) 03 Dec 2017 18:00:22
So he had time to pull out but didn’t as you say, so it’s a blatant red card! He won the ball and had time to pull out but chose to go over the top= red card!

17.) 03 Dec 2017 18:13:47
Ano ducca, sad is it not? 86 you said he got the ball then went over the top of it, that would be hard would it not? Just because you get hurt in a tackle does not make it a foul let alone a red. Perhaps you could watch it again and be a wee bit more balanced with your comments but I won't hold my breath.

18.) 03 Dec 2017 20:40:27
Jyf it’s hard to go over the top of a ball in a challenge! U having a laugh! your man ducca has stated he had time to pull out of it! But hey ho uve got your opinion and I’ve got mine!

19.) 04 Dec 2017 07:31:42
YES 86, a biased one, bet you love this site!

20.) 04 Dec 2017 10:25:42
Hurting are you lh? Jack was by far the best player on the park but needs to cut out the part of his game where he regularly makes shocking tackles like that. Gave the ref no option imo. The game itself showed without doubt that we are a better team than then. Brilliant tactically by Murty to play the diamond. Snuffed them out for the second time. Well pleased but Don't want GM anywhere near us. A step back in my view

21.) 04 Dec 2017 10:34:28
It was a very poor tackle and deserving of a red card. The kind of thing that Peunut Head gets away with week in week out.

What has the board done wrong here, it could as already reported be Brighton holding things up or the player who hasn't played in ages has failed his medical either way that isn't the boards fault, I think the best thing that we can do is wait and see. I sincerely hope that jamie murphy will be a rangers player soon

The one thing gio has that Gerrard didn't was he isn't afraid to change it. If Gerrard had signed those players I'm pretty sure everyone of them would be starting. I don't even blame Ross Wilson as the players we were strongly linked with that didn't come were probably identified by Wilson but he has to get the funding and this board make Michael Kelly's of the biscuit Tim's look like a man with nae arms. We need to mobilise fans and like minded share holders to rise up and get park snr and jnr out of our club. This is not the way things should be after we get to a European final and qualify for the champions league, we have no real money to spend, castore are launching new strips every second day again more money in but the club seem to be shopping at the local food bank. The three bears were supposed to be about the fans getting the club back since king left the fans seem to be totally forgotten. The parks do not have the kind of wealth needed to run hearts or Hibs let alone rangers but they like the prestige of being the big shots at rangers and I fully appreciate that they are fans but really we have loads of people that love the club and would like to run the place but in the cold light of day they know they can't. When they don't put their hands in their pockets, don't do interviews and when they do say something it's never productive or from a point of view that us as rangers fans and at the top level other clubs and chairman could say great idea I'm behind that. I know we don't like a lot of the other clubs but we are fans the board need to be fans but the need to be ambassadors and communicators which this fail at spectacularly. We know we all want a better TV deal but as much as I didn't like David Murray he would have been at the forefront of negotiations to try and get a better deal these lot complain but they aren't offering solutions and that looks petulant but it also makes them look like they really don't know what to do themselves. Get them out rangers deserves better ????.

Life's too short why all the hatred and negativity, the boy is a player of a calibre that has for too long been missing. As for Cummings he is only 22 and people are saying he only scored in the championship and did nothing in the Premier league, how many 17/ 18 year old strikers are banging in goals in the Premier league, in the championship he scored 55 league goals not bad for someone between the age of 18/ 21, he may seem like a wee ned but this is scotland and people from certain areas just act like that and if we want goals someone with a bit of attitude about themselves is needed

I feel that with a balance in distribution then the money we spend would be covered within revised tv and revenue deals. I also believe that during our days of big spending we should have expanded the stadium when we were on top and we had greater demand this instead of wasting money would have made us more self sufficient also if at this time all the clubs part sponsored our league this would have made investors more likely to invest as we were creating confidence in our own product a bit like going for a mortgage when you have already been able to save up half the money yourself.

I don't see anything embarrassing in this if we can safe money through loaning then sign him in the summer then that is good. Watching Barcelona and the likes spending £100m on players just shows how far the footballing world has split up teams like us with a world wide fan base cannot compete with teams like Brighton and Stoke who'd be lucky to find a fan more than 20 miles from their ground, yet some on here think we should chuck money around we don't have.

It isn't just clubs like us i remember reading a couple of years ago that since the end of the second World War ajax had spent £250m on players now there are teams that don't have their history like psg spending near that on one player and plenty more spending more than that in a single transfer window.

The governing bodies won't step in as they have been proved to be corrupt. The champions league should be the biggest pay day not the premiership and then the europa league as it doesn't have the same draw if teams earn more domestically. This should be written in the rules. So it may have come to the fact we can't pay in full well we don't have the resources that make this behaviour sustainable.

My biggest gripe is the lack of realism in where this spending effects day to day people and there lives. In 2008 the £12bn debt of the premiership was 10% of the national debt. Businesses closed, banks crashed, lending to businesses and individuals stopped, houses stopped being built, people ending up jobless, homeless and going to food banks, some it would have been to much and lives would have been lost yet still footballers wages and fees went up to crazy levels.

Why now that after 140+ years of association football does it get like this, well its agents coupled with the ever growing me culture where people want to be famous and think they deserve and when it gets like this laws are needed before it all collapses it won't be just clubs, it will be leagues and entire economy's of countries just so people can lose all grip on reality.

If the premiership crumbled do you think that it would be just England that would feel it, I'm pretty sure none of us would see a pay rise in our life time again. Smaller nations need to act and get changes made, financial fair play rules came I'm to stop clubs unfairly topping themselves up to gain advantage yet when clubs have a small fan base pretty much the majority of their fans go to their stadium yet their TV deal means that for one season they get more than bigger clubs in fact they get paid more in one season than entire leagues get for the five year contract for their TV deal then to me and all outside those wee clubs with big deals it is that, that is breaking financial fair play. So instead of saying our board is an embarrassment it is the ruling bodies that are a disgrace and it has killed football over a 20year period
