Reports say we're closing in on Lee hodgson, but warbs said 3 more and we're done we're obviously after a proper CB as well, after pics were put out there of Davie Weir and mcparland sitting down with Marriappa, but I'm not sure it will be him, as the story has went cold there, but they just turn there attention elsewhere if he doesn't fancy it.

However I'm really hoping the 3rd is a real goalsscorer, if it's is, then I would be happy with the summer signings.

Jay!

1.) 28 Jun 2016 11:57:35
would like mariappa and another striker and another ball on loan for another season and i'd be happy with the signings as long as its a good striker.
I don't want fletcher or lafferty both are not good enough.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 16:11:05
Of course we shouldn't sign Lafferty . tall, quick, international goalscorer. nah we don't need him.

3.) 28 Jun 2016 15:49:18
Either one of those strikers will win us games.

4.) 28 Jun 2016 16:45:03
both those strikers are mince guys and blue blazer what u talking about the guy doesn't perform for any of his clubs he is like samaras does a wee bit of magic now and again and the rest of the time he runs about the pitch like a doo wi nae heed!
fletcher has never done it for me either the guy has an appaling goals to games ratio and the only good thing about him is he has an agent that perfomes miricles for him! how he has had the career he has had with the big money signings makes no sense at all.

5.) 28 Jun 2016 16:47:06
with the right service I could win games for rangers doesn't mean they should sign me! (they shouldn't)

6.) 28 Jun 2016 15:18:42
I agree James, I honestly think we should seriously consider Grigg, with the amount of class midfield we have I am sure this guy will score a lot of goals for us, not sure what he would cost but pretty sure with the Hats magic we will make money selling him on.

7.) 28 Jun 2016 17:18:38
Neither of them are great footballers but they both have specific talents and would score plenty of goals as they drop down a standard for spl. Fletcher was an important player in epl but some fans would rather bradshaw who has had 1 good season 2 divisions below.

8.) 28 Jun 2016 17:27:55
The same Will Grigg that is behind Josh Magennis for NI! Yes that's correct, that big diddy that plays for Kilmarnock! People need to behave.

9.) 28 Jun 2016 17:45:19
Lafferty quick😃😃anyway mentioning fletcher I think he'd do really well up here for us if he stays injury free and takes a wage cut like joey did. Spfl a lot easier than epl too.

News outlets all saying Niko Krancjar medical. Today not a peep, or sighting, something smells funny now.
Weiss or Aluko if there's a no show for this medical, or at least warbs should clear this up, I understand why he keeps tight lipped but, sometimes the fans need to know and there has been to much speculation. Warbs could clear this one easily.

Jay!

1.) 22 Jun 2016 13:52:09
Krancjar in glasgow today for a medical and will be on SSN shortly according to sky sports news twitter.

2.) 22 Jun 2016 14:02:38
Theres tons of pictures of him at Glasgow airport on twitter.

3.) 22 Jun 2016 14:03:26
Have some patience it's only 2 o'clock I've not got much ither but your worse lol.

4.) 22 Jun 2016 14:06:08
His plane has landed in the last hour. there is multiple photos of him arriving on social media.

5.) 22 Jun 2016 14:34:54
Good stuff hope that 1 Gos threw ASAP.

6.) 22 Jun 2016 14:50:08
Yeah guys, no patience, I think everyone that knows me would agree with you on that. I have seen the pics, now hopefully the medical runs smoothly. And he's holding up a famous blue top either today at a press conference, with the burnley keeper. Davie Weir tour guiding again lol.

7.) 22 Jun 2016 15:27:34
Weiss was brutal for us. Another 1 game in every 10 player, not good enough and after watching him in the euros still not good enough.

8.) 22 Jun 2016 22:51:25
Imo weiss was decent for us. He wasn't a striker, he was a winger, so shouldn't be judged on goals.

I think Halliday may either keep his place or still be very involved next season. Holt on the other hand, I'm not sure depends how good Niko becomes, Niko's fitness concerns me slightly but he still has class, so fitness should be okay, class being permanent and to be fair he's trying hard.

Just have that feelin that we'll still see a lot off Halliday, it will be up to probably rossister to take it away.

I have watched a lot off rossister during the unders England games. And looks really good will push Halliday all the way.

But if I had to pick 1 off the 2 to play a old firm game at Celtic park, I would go Halliday just at this present time.

Now I know u all might disagree, but everyone's entitled to there opinion lol.

Jay!

1.) 25 Jul 2016 13:35:30
Have you seen Niko? He looks in good shape and will only get fitter.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 13:41:58
That's true jay, each to their own mate
As for halliday i agree with you, I think he will get plenty of pitch time this year, although he might not start all the time, I think the midfield 3 when everyone is fit will be, crooks, Barton, rossiter.

3.) 25 Jul 2016 14:12:44
Can't wait to see Crooks play. If he does his job defensively as well as well as Windass has going forward then we'll have our best defensive acquisition of the transfer window.

4.) 25 Jul 2016 14:51:04
I have a feeling someone will attempt to split niko in two, if he embarrassed them, and having watching him in My favourite haunt Croatia, he is a fantastically skilled player, I will be back in Split in a month, looking forward to getting my new Hrvatska top with Nico on the back,
Tommy.

19 Jul 2016 16:06:50
Where is the announcement of Joe Dodoo on a permanent deal, what's the hold up, a lot of transfers have been like this, this summer and I am surprised we haven't had one of our deals hijacked yet.

I am actually getting bored of this and the way the board always make the signings take longer than usual to get over the line.
And it's not Warbs fault because he wanted it done by Monday.

I also don't believe it's leister city's fault either because most of our deals take ages.
Joe Dodoo got talent and would be disgraceful if he gets away, it could really happen as its now Tuesday and warbs said everything to be completed today, but again not a peep.

The reason I wanted this one tied up quickly is then we can look and put all our attentions in getting a first choice CB.
All this is frustrating and it must be frustrating to the manager also I would imagine.

Jay!

1.) 19 Jul 2016 16:21:38
These things take time Jay! leicester will be extremely busy at the moment as will ibrox. i'm confident the manager and his staff are looking at defensive options (and another striker) regardless of the dodoo deal.

2.) 19 Jul 2016 16:26:30
If negotiations take longer its probably due to negotiating a price. Surely its better we are strong in negotiations and get the best price possible rather than just pay whatever is quoted.

3.) 19 Jul 2016 16:32:37
Grow up and have some patience. It's not like the club are downloading a player app.

4.) 19 Jul 2016 16:44:08
How can you possibly say the Dodoo deal is being delayed by the board - I assume you have some form of evidence - he is a free agent who has not accepted a new deal from Leicester - this means training compensation is due based on FIFA regulations - it is a calculation (not a negotiation) based on various things including age, period with club, etc. all of this has to come from Leicester so much more likely this is the source of any delay. Same happened with JW/ MC from Accrington.

5.) 19 Jul 2016 17:13:11
Once again Jay I think you need to stop getting wound up waiting on allayed signing. I personally don't think any of our signings have been particularly dragged.
Im sure there's more to contract singing than

'here pal, wanna play with us? '

'eh. aye alright then. '

Job done.

Besides he has actually signed now.

6.) 19 Jul 2016 17:14:09
Nobody knows the hold up- best guess seems to be over the compensation payment, but that's only a guess.

Jay! Is correct on the fact we do take quite a long time to conclude most deals and we give the deal every chance to fall through rather than act decisively. Eg Knox from livi- we could have paid money for him and had him, instead we have dithered and he will most likely be heading elsewhere. In his case it was over a relatively small some of money.

16 Jul 2016 21:42:51
For me some are being slightly harsh on McKay aswell. I think tho he might not be a definite starter once warbs finds out his best side. He has so much competition if he has 2 poor games he's out and then it up to them to see if they can nail down a spot.

But that in its own way is the great thing about were we are now. Nobody garenteed a start. And healthy competition which will make for a interesting team sheet every time it comes out.

Jay!

1.) 16 Jul 2016 23:52:48
He's deceptive. Makes it look lazy and easy. Doesn't catch the eye so you miss the slight footwork and skill. Massive fan of Barry and I believe he will only get better. I think he's better than most realise.

16 Jul 2016 19:54:17
Looks like a lot of posts are saying what everyone's thinking looking at the game, we need a dominant, no nonsense CB, and hopefully soon, if Dodoo is in the bag for upfront, then hopefully we can switch our attention and fully focus on getting a CB.

Me personally would have took bougie up on his offer to come back, only because it's a free transfer I think, and that's all we are allowed.

But I doesn't have to be bougie it just needs a rock at the back, from midfield to front. I think we're just about set.

But if we're going to be relying to much on Keirnan and Wilson, I would be worried.
Infact I would go as far as saying I think that would cost us to much over the season and ultimately cost us #55.
So I just hope the magic hat can see what we see. Keirnan and Wison don't work. It barely worked at championship level, why would it work now?

They always look like they have never played together before never mind a whole season.

Marriappa was someone I really wanted, he would have been perfect, strong, athletic a leader and can play, also no nonsense, but people keep saying deals dead because we offered him not enough cash.

If Marriappa is still a free agent then hopefully we could go back with a improved offer. It's what the team needs. Don't think it will happen though, hence the reason we had that American on trial. Who looked more like a basketball player.

If a lot of us agree that we should sign a priority CB, who should it be?

Jay!

1.) 16 Jul 2016 21:26:15
I agree about the rock bit but not bougy he liked a wander what we need is an absolute solid cb that'll wipe anything out in front of him,

2.) 16 Jul 2016 21:40:53
Iv heard we have improved terms in past 48 hrs with Mariappa now we look to have signed our Striker/ Winger for £250k when available budget was £500k-750k freeing up additional cash for defensive reinforcement. Warch this space.

3.) 16 Jul 2016 23:55:34
Also heard Mariaopa was more or less a done deal. With him and the lad Dodoo I think we will have a great season. Really excited!

16 Jul 2016 18:44:59
I think a change in formation would help things and make us more solid whist getting the best from our better players.

I would have a 4, 2, 3, 1 formation.

Wes
TaV, hill, crooks, Waldo, defence

Rossiter &barton. Sitting midfielders

Krancjar, windass, McKay, attacking midfielders,

Dodoo, Striker.

As you can see, no Kiernan and Wilson, I think that shape would be more solid and attacking at the same time, plus plenty off quality on bench if variation was needed.
But the magic hat tends to stick to 4,3,3.
But I just think with what we have 4,2,3,1 would work out better!

Jay!

1.) 16 Jul 2016 18:53:30
No waghorn?

2.) 16 Jul 2016 19:05:17
Warburton also says Crooks is two/ three weeks away. Might be on bench for first game against Hamilton you'd imagine.

Need our new first choice centre back in before the Burnley game.

Do you think we'll get one in before Tuesday?

3.) 16 Jul 2016 19:05:38
Yes Waghorn, that team was more a hypothetical team that could be varied with also MOH, forester and Waggy too could slip into the 4,2,3,1, I made up, so that would be great plenty of options there.

What I was mainly getting at was a slight change in formation, and if you add on our better players, and scrap the centre backs, we could look different and maybe have a different dimension to us.

But hey that's how I would go, but I'm no football manager, just a opinionated fan lol.

6.) 16 Jul 2016 21:02:05
Rossiter and Barton will make a significant difference when they are both in theta but the question will be who drops out and for me I would be tempted to play Halliday on the wing at the expense of McKay. I just don't him as a winger.

We have an abundance of quality attacking midfield players so consistency is a must.

I also have doubts over our keeper. He needs to own his six yard box and he needs to be ore dominant at cross balls.

7.) 17 Jul 2016 09:38:11
´Halliday over Mckay, that´s a cracker. People just do not seem to realise how good Mckay is and can be. He has 2 good feet, can cut inside, outside, which enables him to tease the defenders with the ball then skip by them. He runs with his head up on the ball looking for options, has the vision to pick out passes, is always looking for the positive attacking options, show´s composure on the ball that belies his years, has a brilliant burst of pace. What else do you want from a young Scotish player?

James Stirling, your probably right the singing will take place when team is back but it's just that mark W said it was this week he wanted a striker, in saying that it could happen at weekend.

I think mark and Davie like to be there when the big fish arrive like Niko and Joey, remember mark is an ex stockbroker, I'm in the same line of work myself, being a broker means he'll be one hell of a salesman and could sell Rangers quite easily.

Ok Thorn so if nothing comes out tonight or tomorrow, we can say at least your talking rubbish, very vague rumour. No name or anything. At least say the name, because you say you have been told? If you read it back, nothing will come out this evening, definitely nothing tomorrow, it may start end of week.

I probably would have crooks in my team, if it weren't for his injuries, I don't know when he will be back, but also what his best position is, if it's CB or CDM.
Otherwise I probably would have crooks who can play and has not a bad scoring record. Need to see him first.

Also I would say a first choice centre back must be priority, same old same, looked really comfortable on the ball, sometimes to comfortable, if Motherwell had a finisher they would have won that game.

So I'm going to say this for the umpteenth time we need to scrap the Wilson and Kiernan partnership, it's quite a bad Achilles heel to have. Bring in hill for experience and a solid centre back that can defend first and foremost.

On the bright side I thought, Windass looked the part as did Niko, I think Niko will just get better and better.
Some of the players I have slagged off a wee bit did well also and that was Wes, TaV.

We are certainly not at this stage good enough yet to challenge but when you stick our new arrivals on and when there fit we will look better more street wise, Barton, rossister and Niko is the best midfield 3 in Scotland,
But the games not all about midfield we need be more ruthless and more solid, only quality additions will do, as I have given up on Wilson and Keirnan. It's the same old same, I don't know who's worse probably Keirnan, it amazes me how bad he is at clearing the ball as a defender over 6,2.

If we continue our way off playing, which I think is still the best and most entertaining way in Scotland we need that back door shut. I'm hoping a good centre back gets brought in to partner hill, and a good finisher gets brought in to bag 30 plus a season. If mcpartland can get that sorted I'm confident.

Obviously we're signing Joe Dodoo on a 4 year deal, that could be a solution. And supposedly maybe another striker.

But it's the defence that falls short, if we can get someone in that could partner Hill I would be delighted. We should rip up the Wison and Keirnan partnership.

How many mistakes is it going to take, or how many goals or times of unessesery pressure does it take to know we need both out, and let's try another pairing.

I heard there is truth to the 4 year deal offer, he is not right now at Murray park, but is still considering things but all signs look good, I think it will be done around the weekend! So a few of my mates are telling me, and I think it's going to become public knowledge soon that it's a perm deal.

Only passing on what I'm hearing through the grape vine, my friends have been more right than wrong, so let's just wait and see eh!
