Little bit of gossip : I have no connections, I don't know any rangers players etc but 15 years ago I used to work with Ryan Gaulds mum. I was back home this week and I was chatting to her and said come on get him to sign fir Rangers etc. She said he would be open to a return home and would jump at the chance to sign for us. There has been NO offer made, there has been NO contact. Just passing on what she told me. I think we should approach them as he is a cracking player before he ends up with that lot.

not good enough, never done anything since leaving. Showed promise as a kid, but now i couldn't see any point in us signing him.

Eh? We've signed a Portuguese boy dalcio, who's done **** all but trying to sign a young Scottish boy who we know can play in Scottish football is a bad idea?

He's done well n loan this season, in Portuguese top flight, the club who had him on loan were gutted when he returned to Sporting. He's now managed to adapt to Football on the continent and will no doubt have improved as a result. Latest I heard was the club would listen to offers and valued him at £3m, he said he was enjoying playing abroad, would report back for Preseason see what's what and take it from there but he was enjoying life abroad.
I would be delighted to secure him on loan as £3m is a bit much IMO despite his ability.

Well said Albertz82,we need to be giving our youngsters a chance rather than help other clubs develop there young talents

Saw something about Darren bent earlier. Bit like Defoe. Knows where the net is but his age is a concern.
I know we want to bring through talent etc but we r struggling to hit the net. I'm not saying we need to sign him but with kennys age should we try bring in an experienced striker that can hit the net like bent?

Bring in Moult from Motherwell he is a proven goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership.
Lack of goals pre season is a major concern so if we don't sign any more strikers Herrera and Morelos will need to score on a regular basis along with Miller.
We need to hope Morelos continues to score goals as he did with his previous club HFK Helsinki.

No way would Darren bent come up to Scotland mate I wouldn't mind seeing him pull on the Glasgow rangers jersey but no chance. I would take Allan mcgregor back in a heart beat and sell big fox to the first buyer

Obviously nowhere near that level but I've been a men's football manager for a number of years now. Things change pre season. players in, players out. Pre season is about fitness and finding your team and players finding themselves.

Also you match up against different teams for different reasons. Easier game, fitness, big squad numbers, harder games etc. Basically you should not be judged on pre season or the first couple of games. Let him / them get on with it then judge!

Read this everyday but have never posted before. Really glad to now be reading positive things and seeing who we are linked with and signing. I can't remember any club coming out this quick to get players in and signed.
I honestly hated reading all the negative stuff at the end of the season about our new manager and board but hats off to them however the team performs beginning of the season. They have went out and done the business.
I don't know what others think and I'm not one of these deluded fans who think we should be going for the treble next year but I'd say I'd be happy if we were within 10 points of them. It's always been a building process and this is the next step. This season to close the gap and even pressure them, the next season to win.

Good first post and sensible as well.
I'm like you - let Pedro build a team over a couple of seasons and then challenge. Too many looking for the quick fix.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 15:01:15
i for one will never understand a comment like that!
i will never be happy with second even if its only by 1 point i don't care .

we are rangers and rangers are winners its as simple as that anything less than the title for me is not good enough never has been never will be

3.) 12 Jun 2017 15:31:27
Might even dare I say worth a few bob to maybe win the league. 😉

You need to take a reality check rangersfirst. Of course that is where we want to be but it will take time based on where we have been and our current financial situation.

5.) 12 Jun 2017 17:08:00
I agree with you parky. A lot of people need some patience. Nobody is happy with second place unless you've overachieved to finish 2nd but we need to be realistic. I'm happy with the players that have came in bc it's night and day to what we've had the last few years but ultimately they need to click quickly otherwise there will be the usual group of fans who jump down the managers throat

Alves included lol
R you on the Buckie again!
The team hasn't even kicked a ball in the league and your slating them already! Comments like that crack me up, so you would of been happier with our old squad for the start of this season?
The club is improving as a whole, every season they are trying to get better. This one included. I said weeks ago that if we finish second and within 10 points that's an improvement that I'll take.
It's never nice to finish second or be behind them but people need to put their serious hats on and judging them before the season starts is a joke as well. I'm not saying they are going to do great because like you I don't know but give them a chance at least!
