Sam Johnstone set to sign for Crystal Palace on a free transfer from West Brom.

Opening the door for Rangers to make an approach for former England and Great Britain GK Jack Butland.

Loan to Buy has been mooted but a bid of around £4 million could see the 29 year old sign a 3 year deal.

Thoughts bears? Opportunity to reinvent himself up north? Was a top talent for few years!

1.) 11 Jun 2022 09:25:51
Was good for Stoke up until his last season their and just hasn't had a great time at Palace.

2.) 11 Jun 2022 09:32:32
Also we can offer europe don't think he's played in it.

3.) 11 Jun 2022 09:34:05
Would be a great signing for us. Very good keeper.

4.) 11 Jun 2022 09:50:15
Can’t see why we would enter a loan to buy for a player who is free to sign a bosman in January.

5.) 11 Jun 2022 10:02:40
Hope not. Awful keeper who hasn’t been good since 2018.

6.) 11 Jun 2022 10:26:57
Yeah he would improve our first team, a very good keeper going into his prime now. I’d really like this to happen.

7.) 11 Jun 2022 10:27:07
I think Butland would be an upgrade on the keepers currently on our books.

8.) 11 Jun 2022 10:49:16
Jack butland is a very good goalkeeper ?I saw more of him at stoke city and he's most definitely a talented goalie ?.

9.) 11 Jun 2022 11:09:09
Copland front are you blue would do? Have you changed your name.

10.) 11 Jun 2022 12:33:26
Am I who?

So because I’ve got an opinion on a player who I’ve seen play numerous times in the past few years Your questioning it.

He’s awful and it would be a really poor signing.

11.) 11 Jun 2022 14:00:11
I’d prefer to give McLaughlin a chance aa number 1.

11 Apr 2022 08:03:28
Hearing Aaron Ramsey will be signed on another deal this summer, either on loan again or signed on a free transfer when Juventus release him.

Think funds would only be available for this transfer if Aribo is sold for £12-15 million.

I would also like to see Tonny Vilhenna signed this summer, ex-feyenoord league winner and Dutch international under GVB - a playmaker/ Number 10 which we are crying out for.
Contracted to Rubin Kazan so could be available for a cut-price or loan deal.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 11 Apr 2022 09:12:12
Jorge, what are you saying we will only sign any players if Aribo is sold? What if he isn’t sold, do we go into a new campaign with the same squad that has failed in the Title this year? Will Rangers fans accept more free transfers like Sakala and Lundstrum?

2.) 11 Apr 2022 09:28:12
Jorge. Ramsey deal is loan with juventus still picking up wages as he is contracted to them till June 23.
He is on 20 million a year so he is not walking away.

3.) 11 Apr 2022 09:29:20
Don't see why anyone would want Ramsay signed again. We would be lucky to get 20 games off him and he's simply not worth the hassle.

4.) 11 Apr 2022 11:51:56
I heard the same about Ramsey. Heard he would have been entitled to another year at £20mill if he hadn’t come to us in jan. Heard he would like to stay. All depends on if he wants to play for titles and trophies or just pick up a big wage. He can’t possibly need the money.

5.) 11 Apr 2022 12:55:40
John25 your info is wrong. Ramsey was only entitled to 20m if he played so many games for Juve, which is why they wanted rid of him. A fee has already been agreed as part of the loan deal should Rangers want to pursue a permanent transfer.

6.) 11 Apr 2022 13:20:03
John, pretty poor knowledge there considering it's widely accepted Juve are terminating his deal in the summer should we not make a cash offer.

Yately, think most would like more players like lundstram.

7.) 11 Apr 2022 13:49:44
Surely we will not sign Ramsey he is far to injury Prine we need players ready to go and who will improve our squad we have signed far to many player who have no done it and Tjrfc I agree Lundstrum has been a very good signing unlike most.

8.) 11 Apr 2022 14:05:03
If Rangers got Ramsey through a summer fitness routine we would have a world class midfielder, it’s a chance worth considering is it not?

I’m sure his contract is til 2023 too.

9.) 11 Apr 2022 14:10:43
Craig and tjrfc cool,
However tj can’t terminate his contract without payment according to him and his agent. time will tell
I’d sign him.

10.) 11 Apr 2022 14:42:44
Jorge looks to have good pedigree, mb too dear for us.
Espanyol have option to buy for nearly 7 million euros,

11.) 11 Apr 2022 15:40:34
TT12 I also believe it’s a chance worth taking re Ramsey
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺👍.

12.) 11 Apr 2022 15:54:26
Ramsey has a terrific pedigree both at club level and international level but injury prone.
Big question could our transfer budget be put to a better use?
The answer is Yes.

13.) 11 Apr 2022 17:06:42
100% agree with you sweep.

14.) 11 Apr 2022 17:07:21
Also Ramsey is not world class.

15.) 11 Apr 2022 18:03:29
Ramsey has a contract at juventus until summer 23 so John is accurate in his statement. They can terminate his contract but have to pay it. If he wasn't under contract next season we wouldn't have a buy clause in the contract. Ramsey has been recovering from injuries but on his game there is no doubt about his quality.

16.) 11 Apr 2022 18:31:19
That's your opinion stormtrooper and of course you're entitled to it but imo i also think Aaron Ramsey is a world class midfielder, simple as that 👌.

17.) 11 Apr 2022 18:45:18
A fit Ramsey is an asset, look at his pass to tav for second goal.

18.) 11 Apr 2022 20:36:27
if Ramsay was fit and could stay fit then he would be a terrific signing.

19.) 11 Apr 2022 21:11:50
Storm - didn’t mention world class but he has performed at a high level both for club and country.
A fit Ramsey would be a major asset to the club but he would command a very high salary.

20.) 11 Apr 2022 22:06:37
Well said TT and cunny and coops. No doubt Ramsey is a world class midfielder, end of 👍.

21.) 11 Apr 2022 23:24:44
As long as he brings his pal Bale.

22.) 12 Apr 2022 07:26:29
One superstar at a time mols 😂.

23.) 12 Apr 2022 09:19:48
A fit Ramsey would be better than anything we have at present, so If we can make deal it's worth taking a chance, even a half fit Bale would improve us we can only dream.

24.) 12 Apr 2022 09:33:43
Ramsey not for me can’t stay fit, at the twilight of his career on the decline. Better with a hot water bottle heating the treatment table.

25.) 12 Apr 2022 09:24:33
Would be a fantastic signing if juventus were picking up tab.

26.) 12 Apr 2022 09:33:55
Sweep1 the continual doubting thomas regarding everything glasgow rangers let's have it mate, who should rangers sign 🤔🤔You rate no player at our club and who needs celtic supporters on here, when we've got someone like you my friend 🤔.

27.) 12 Apr 2022 23:17:05
copland storm was replying to tt in regards to the 'ramsey is not world class' comment.

12 Jan 2018 00:08:09
£2 million bid and Cummings is our man.

Would like to see Martin til end of season and one other. 👍

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 12 Jan 2018 02:10:34
We won't bid £2mil for Cummings.

2.) 12 Jan 2018 02:20:31
£2million haha seriously. People need to wake up and smell the coffee. The only decent players we will attract are rangers minded and willing to make financial sacrifices compared to what they could be picking up weekly. Getting rid of some high earners and getting the share issue cash might lead to some cash going out on transfers.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 02:39:41
He's not worth 2m I don't think

4.) 12 Jan 2018 02:44:05
Why should We pay 2 million for Cummings when Forrest Only paid 1 million just 5/ 6 months ago and Can't get a game? makes NO sense give them the 1million they paid Hibs no more, i would love him at Ibrox but £1 Million take it or leave it.

5.) 12 Jan 2018 06:04:51
IF and a BIG IF, we have any money, offer what they offered for McKay.

6.) 12 Jan 2018 13:04:27
Well we paid £5m for pena&herrera so anythings possible

7.) 12 Jan 2018 14:54:08
2 million, try 500k and I would think about it - bang average.

12 Dec 2017 14:51:11
Think the board will move for Alex Neil in January.

Currently on a 12 month rolling contract at Preston so wouldn't cost a lot of compensation.

He fits the criteria of having knowledge of Scottish and British football whilst being young and ambitious.
Seems like a very confident gaffer with a very decent track record given he's only 36 years old.

20/1 with the bookies currently, certainly worth a fiver.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 12 Dec 2017 16:12:29
He's been scathing of us in the past as his loyalties apparently lie elsewhere in Glasgow. Just saying before the offended brigade come on and slaughter me. lol

2.) 12 Dec 2017 16:19:00
Be good but looks like he's loving life at Preston and has lined up Moult for January so can’t see him wanting to come.

3.) 12 Dec 2017 16:41:43
Potter and Reid it should be. Reid has experience of Scottish game and is a Rangers man. Also developed young players like McCarthy and McArthur at Hamilton and sold them for a great profit

4.) 12 Dec 2017 20:01:27
And exactly Wat has Alec Neil actually done?

5.) 13 Dec 2017 08:03:20
Seeker, it doesn't worry me if the pc brigade complain, this appointment would be absolutely against the grain. He's an out and out person who has decried us in the past. He's never a candidate for Rangers manager, and that's as it should be.

6.) 13 Dec 2017 08:04:39
I don’t care where anyone’s loyalties used to lie. If that person can put us back on top where we belong I would take anyone

06 Nov 2017 08:22:13
If it's a choice between McInnes and McClaren - then its an absolute no brainer.

Mcinness every day of the week. Why risk bringing in a washed out manager who is a well renowned joke figure across world football?

Has to be McInness.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 06 Nov 2017 09:09:54
Totally with you here, JorgeTheHammer! Steve mcClaren is outdated and a dinosaur in the manager/ coaching world of football! Would be a disastrous appointment! What's our board thinking of?

2.) 06 Nov 2017 10:25:30
yes but allen will prefer and engish manager over mcinnes and that's what scares me if they bring in the washed out mclaren then we may be finnished as a club

Gutted for Big Niko Katic after his Cruciate injury.

Felt like it could’ve been a big year for him, has matured a lot over past 2 seasons and was a big presence for us.

For that reason - I think we should try replace with a short term experienced CB that can fill the void.

Names I’ve seen mentioned are - Wes Morgan, Phil Jagielka, Yoshida.

Less risk involved that taking a young CB on loan for the season imo, too much riding on this season.

Thoughts?

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 09 Jul 2020 10:15:26
we have 3 centre backs and another in bassey. we also could use mccrorie.

and multiple highly thought of from the youth team. personally think we'll be fine without signing one.

2.) 09 Jul 2020 10:38:15
I’m with you IvIarkGraham.

3.) 09 Jul 2020 11:38:08
Ivlark mccrorie ain't no central defender and SG will never play him there.

4.) 09 Jul 2020 12:27:54
We should never use McCrorie at CH.

5.) 09 Jul 2020 14:00:39
seen durrant mention leon king stepping up. was a massive year for katic but he wasnt a world beater. Had some shockers last season fornall his good attributes he's probably out of the 4 CH the one with worst positional sense.

6.) 09 Jul 2020 16:06:13
His positional sense wasn’t that bad in the last auld firm game.

7.) 09 Jul 2020 16:45:46
Yeah katic probably yworked too hard on bulking up his top half he was too heavy for his legs, should’ve did leg work first when your already a big dude in my opinion 🤔.

15 May 2020 11:22:07
Marcus Maddison free agent in the summer currently on loan at Hull City from Peterborough after fall-out with board.

Turned down pre-contracts with Charlton and Birmingham.

A playmaker right and left footed and plays mostly RW.

Somebody I think would rip it up in the SPFL and a much better option than Ojo, Barker.

Thoughts?

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 15 May 2020 14:14:29
My thoughts are that if you are pushing for a player from Peterborough, wanted by Charlton and Birmingham, then you have absolutely no ambition to take our team forward.

2.) 15 May 2020 16:12:27
came to Scotland, did nothing, went back.

3.) 16 May 2020 11:31:20
Eric blair, elvis,? , mate, lol.

07 Apr 2018 23:23:50
Great result today - confidence booster ahead of next weekend.

Was at Ibrox today, king Kenny to the rescue in first half, and we got there after Dundee tired out, very nervy first half.

3 points we should be earning no issues and on that note I’ll offer my neck on the line and suggest that our next gaffer should be Rafa Benitez.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 08 Apr 2018 09:04:57
There is no chance he will be the next Manager

2.) 08 Apr 2018 09:08:00
we can but dream

22 Mar 2018 09:40:33
Would a big name ‘A lister’ gaffer such as Frank de Boer or GVB have any interest working alongside a director of football who effectively highlights player signings?

I think Mr. King’s idea of getting in a British manager will changed over the course of the last few months.
Realistically he wanted Mciness at the time who ticked all of those boxes.

But now he’s had a chance to explore I wouldn’t be too surprised to see someone European with the calibre of FDB.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 22 Mar 2018 11:32:43
I wouldn't want F D B OR G V B TO BE HONEST better going brittish bu who is the question

2.) 22 Mar 2018 13:15:36
I've got nothing against going British regarding our manager but gio would be a great shout as manager

3.) 23 Mar 2018 01:55:41
I would like a British manager as well but let's be fair, who ticks the boxes? As an outside shout I would potentially push the boat out for Thomas Tuchel, said it before, no compensation due (wages may be a problem), managed at a very high level beating some of Europe's best, coached some of the best players in Europe, been successful, speaks English, would have time to work with the board to identify targets and a plan going forward. I know it's wishful thinking but surely we have to think like a big club and bring in someone of an equal or greater standing than Brenda?

4.) 23 Mar 2018 07:28:54
I think Tuschel will go to Arsensl if they ever sack Wenger.

5.) 23 Mar 2018 10:20:09
Tuchel or someone like him would certainly be a statement of intent. would he come? Could we afford him? Could we give him a decent transfer budget (£12m+)? Nae idea. Some signing though

06 Sep 2017 00:03:57
Michael O'Halloran is way above his station.
Aye you can be billy big boy running about in Perth every weekend when the shackles are off but he's had over a year to prove himself at Rangers and he hasn't done it.

Now he's decided to take the moral high ground and have a dig in the papers after scoring a couple goals - never Rangers class.

May be the unpopular opinion but for me the place is better off without playboy characters like O'Halloran, Forester and Kiernan.

JorgeTheHammer

1.) 06 Sep 2017 04:42:35
Spot on mate. He's got pace but that's it. Easy enough scoring a few goals running on to things for st Johnstone against teams that are a wee bit more open but at rangers he had has his fair share of chances against teams who sit back and try to catch us on the break. Not good enough simple as that.

2.) 06 Sep 2017 08:44:21
JorgeTheHammer

Playboy characters? I've not heard anything like that about either 3 you mention. Where exactly is your source for this? He has just responded to the fact that the manager went public in the paper and slagged him off. I don't think we are currently in a position to turn our noses up at any player who is currently playing well and scoring in the league. You criticise him for not scoring then you criticise him for scoring! Very balanced view you have

3.) 06 Sep 2017 09:05:03
dont think Jorge is criticising him for scoring goals tbh. more for his attitude, an attitude he most likely displayed at the club and affected the dressing room with. players don't get banished and turned out so hard unless there are serious issues. he represents all that was wrong with our club, average player, taking a wage and giving it big licks that he was a big shot rangers player without putting in the work and due care our great club deserves

4.) 06 Sep 2017 09:36:23
I agree with sparky he had to come out and defend himself at some point, although in my opinion MOH had enough chances to impress and for me he never really took them and Rangers was far to big a step for him like most of warburtons signings, but that's just my opinion 🇬🇧

5.) 06 Sep 2017 10:07:24
Agree Jack Union. MOH might well not be Rangers class but PC was classless in openly slagging him off.

In fact, is PC Rangers class is the more important question.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 11:31:17
How is he, the guy is stating his experiences with pedro and so would I being treated like that.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 11:37:44
mnager didn't slag him off people listen to what he said .
he said MOH isn't his type of player and that is okay bacause while he was still here all you people that want him back said he was a waste of money i don't remember last season more than one or two wanting him to get game time but now he is scoring for them he is a legend again get a grip guys

8.) 06 Sep 2017 11:53:20
exactly. the mess we were in last year and folk that slated the dross then are pining for MOH, hill and all the other has beens

9.) 06 Sep 2017 12:22:26
Peds no one said he was a legend aye he's scoring goals that's great, i'm on about his first hand experience with PC. don't worry when he gets the boot I will be the first to remind you how much you hung out his farter.

10.) 06 Sep 2017 13:42:05
Michael O'Halloran, The Scottish premier Player Of The Month, should still be at Ibrox scoring goals. It's a pity Caixinha couldn't get the best out of him the way that Tommy Wright Is doing at St. Johnstone. The decision To Let him go is Just one Of The Many Mistakes that he's Made.

Surely he can't Continue with embarrassing Himself and rangers, When Almost all the players he let go are banging in the goals right, left and centre every week, yet his £2.2 million signing Carlos Pena can't get a game, What on earth Is that all about? For me Pedro's time is up. surely he's got to go, and the sooner the better.

11.) 06 Sep 2017 14:36:45
Im not a big fan of MOH but i think he's entitled to have a go after the way Pedro publicly put him out to dry

12.) 06 Sep 2017 16:25:07
the way he hung the club out to dry refusing to play for the reserves?

13.) 06 Sep 2017 17:05:15
Wasn't good enough to cut it at rangers so that's all that needs to be said about him. If he want to run his trap in the papers so be it but at the end of the day we where and still are paying him a very good amount of money for sweet F all so definitely agree with PC on this one!

14.) 06 Sep 2017 17:07:47
MOH Is not good enough for rangers and we should be working to move him on. Pedro should not have said on such blunt terms he has no future at Ibrox, makes Pedro appear unprofessional.

15.) 07 Sep 2017 05:49:11
Pedro badly mishandled this one. Simple as daaa

16.) 07 Sep 2017 08:48:57
Snell

Can you explain the term giving it big licks? What exactly are you referring to?

17.) 07 Sep 2017 11:44:51
Perdu is a poor man's Mourinho. It's fine coming out before a game stating how an opponent are going to set up and play so long as you don't then get gubbed. If you can't walk the walk etc. and Perdu can't walk the walk. His dealing with the O'Halloran is arrogant and has probably lost the club money in what they can get for him when he is sold on.

18.) 07 Sep 2017 11:40:00
@easypeasy - the last 2 managers couldn't get the best out of these players, the same players who were criticised by plenty on here. He's turned Windass around who was poor last season but is doing better this season but no praise for Pedro on this matter.

19.) 07 Sep 2017 12:21:52
easypeasy you don't half talk some phish bhoy. If MOH had been scoring regularly at Rangers, he'd still be there, and your desperate banging on about Pedro having to go, leads me to believe you're a bit feart he's going to be a success.

20.) 07 Sep 2017 12:31:52
Miller has come out in today's press defending Pedro's training methods so MOH is talking Tom Kite! Or are some on here with an agenda against the manager still going to believe the imposter that is is MOH?

21.) 07 Sep 2017 14:39:47
Union, don't be so naive. People sometimes don't tell the truth. Do you really believe that Miller would say anything other than that while he is involved in the team. What do you think would have happened if he had said the opposite? A big cuddle from Perdu or a cold shoulder?
I don't know whether Perdu's training methods are good or bad, but I wouldn't take a comment from a player involved in the squad as being FACT.

22.) 07 Sep 2017 15:36:32
Why do you keep calling him Perdu?

23.) 08 Sep 2017 11:40:46
Because I think he is a lost soul in the Ibrox spotlight.

24.) 10 Sep 2017 08:48:37
@STYAB- and yet you are naive enough to take the word of a player kicked out the squad for not being good enough?

Top guy and really good at his job.

Onwards and upwards. 👍.

That's the article - I was wondering if Rangers may have a go at manufacturing their own jerseys, a bit similar to what Manchester United did in 2009/ 10.

Supporters took the stance over either buying old kits or wearing Newton Heath colours.

Idea is Bit of the wall I know - but if old/ retro kits were made available might be an idea.

The likes of Barton and Kranjcar would be sensational signings for Rangers at this stage in our revival.

Let's not forget - that only 1-2 years ago, we had boys like Ian Black running about Ibrox thinking he was something. Not only that - we were being linked with recruiting players like Ali Crawford and Kevin McHattie when McCall was in charge.

We've come a long way in a short space of time - and to be linked with players of their calibre it can only be viewed as a huge positive in terms of what's going on in the background with King and co also.

But I would make it a priority to go out and sign Liam Lindsay this summer.

Bruno Alves is an absolute class act.

Some folk need to wisen up, he made one poor mistake against Hibs - but was the rock and core of our defensive unit in the second half.

Do people just think it’s a coincidence that Danny Wilson has all of a sudden started playing well?

Bruno gives all the others around him the platform to perform as a result of his composure and communication.

Idiotic of some folk to suggest we’re better off without him.

Bruno is our best centre halves in years and that includes the years of Dorin Goian etc.

Rock solid and classy on the ball.

I agree with Danny Wilson being our best ball-playing centre half.
He offers a different dimension from Hill/ Senderos.

I think he still has a bit to go defensively - aerially he gets beaten far too often and can be lackadaisical.

Hill will start the Old firm alongside Kiernan and Wilson will play LB if Lee Wallace is unavailable.
