He'd be a terrific signing. Warburton knows him from a young age, was here last season and is a fan favourite.
If he's the only centre back signed it would be a slight problem given that his best last season was at CDM but he's young enough that he could develop into a very important player defensively. Hope we'd get one from England top bunch on loan though.
If he played the Cup Final, we win the Cup Final, and we'd be in Europe right now. For a guy that was 20 at the time, that's great praise.

Agree, with most of what folks are saying - but how many games did he actually start last year? Should we really be pinning our hopes on a 20 year old, who has never played even half a season with anybody?

Not the answer at centre back for me. Just like Tottenham found with Eric Dier we found that his best position was in the holding role in midfield as well and we have Barton, Crooks and Rossiter now who can play there. Having said all that, he's a better option than the other 2 who have had plenty of chances.

I like the boy but he's not the answer. He couldn't break up the pairing of Wilson and Kiernan and they were rank rotten in defence so why are people thinking he's he answer now. MW seems to see a player in Kiernan and it would take someone specialty remove him.
Additionally I heard the time are reporting we have offered a contract to senderos.

he is better than the "3" we have just now I don't rate hill and think he will do more on the training ground rather than playing the actual games which is weird as we have a stalwart in big davie who should be teaching our younger lads!
but I would welcome a crooks and ball centre halfs before Wilson and kiernan.

Ball was playing on all games we shipped 3 goals in at end of season He was also present when we beat Celtic 2-2 penalties but there were still glaring defence issues thing Roberts should have scored if he wasn't a Diddy and their goals both header and shot were easily achieved no marking at all WITH BALL!
Too much to expect of him we actually need a tall dominant CB more than any other player I personally hope Crooks might be a lucky signing for us and solve this problem
I like Ball far more as midfielder.

We clearly don't have money to bid for players we have missed a trick not getting a proven goalscorer in yet the boy Dodoo could be a good signing but not proven we seem to be going down same route here with getting players in who can play on wing with pace but do not have the proven goalscoring instincts in box which could cost us big time this season.

crouch? Please god no. We need a guy in his early to mid twenties who is hungry and looking for medals and someone who can learn from the likes of Miller. Not a guy who is 35 and won't have much hunger or desire to achieve anything other than pick up a wage. And the mention of RVP is hilarious. He is linked with a move to the EPL again so there is no chance. Personally I'd go for Cummings, not the most popular name on here but he fits the bill of what we require just needs to grow up a bit.

Yes Cummings has not done anything to note but under the right manager he could achieve great things in the game. He's a far better option then crouch Zamora and any other daft names that have been mentioned.

Out of all the striker names we're being linked to probably most of us would want liverpool striker danny ings which I truly don't think has any chance of happening, unfortunately however I truly think big peter crouch could do a job for us if his fitness is up to scratch, the big man uses his height well as he's good in the air, good with both feet on the deck, can hold the ball up and is a really good finisher, imo we would get 2 good years out of crouchy, thoughts please.
