Hi all, I was at a charity event last night to raise funds for MND and Jan Wouters former Rangers coach was in attendance with his wife. We had a good chat to him reminiscing about his days at the club, the best days of his football career he said.
Anyway we asked him about the goings on at the club but he said he had little to no contacts at the club these days but still kept in touch with some former players. He said that a former player mentioned to him that Jones from Kilmarnock has been identified as the player to cover for Murphy dependant on the finances involved.

Jones would be a great signing I think as back-up/ squad player for us. His pace and technique on the ball could provide us with some good options.

Or, as we have previously pointed out in past seasons. A good winger is only as good as his tracking back. Take Sunday for example, Tavernier got all 3 assists down the right hand side completely unmarked. the winger responsible for this? Jordon Jones. Candeias and Murphy both embraced the fact they would need to go back with the full backs not so sure this guy would.

I initially thought Jordan Jones would be a good signing as a developing player buts he turns 24 in October so he is almost all the player he is ever going to be! He’s had 69 apps for Kilmarnock scoring 7 which isn’t phenomenal! Looking back further he started his career at Middlesbrough where he didn’t make 1single appearance then 2 loan spells at Hartlepool and Cambridge where he had only 12 games combined! If we’re looking for a squad player with future potential development I don’t think he is the answer!

Rangers interested in loaning Joe Gomez from Liverpool. The player has other interested parties and Klopp has not yet decided if he is surplus to requirements. Let’s wait and see.
Also Solanke does not want to move to Glasgow. He has found it hard enough to cope from moving north from London to Liverpool and is apparently a real home bug.

Gomez has recently recovered from a serious injury and is seen as part of the long term squad at Liverpool but the club would like to see him play more games to ensure his body is capable of picking up week after week.

Heard a rumour Rangers have spoken to Burnley about Sam Vokes but the fee is out of our price range. Talks are apparently ongoing with Rangers looking to pay an initial seven figure loan sum and pay the remainder next season to split the sum across multiple seasons. Whether Burnley will be open to this is another matter.
With Wood and Barnes preferred as the big men up front it could be plausible that Vokes does leave Burnley in the summer but if he is open to moving to Scotland I don’t know but the opportunity to potentially play in the CL could be a factor.
Rumour came from a family member (Celtic fan) who lives in Blackburn and works with plenty of Burnley fans. Might be BS but worth mentioning.

I think we can get a result today and if we can snatch a win it will be a defining moment for the league that the competitiveness between the big two is back.
My one gripe over the past few years is when we allow them to keep the ball and pass between their midfield and defence letting them control the game. I hope Gerrard tells the midfield, wingers, strikers and full backs to hassle them into making mistakes as they play far too many pointless passes.
0-2 Rangers, Morelos to break his duck and big Goldson or Katic to smash one home from a corner. Bring it on!

This game has been hyped up so much part of me expects it to be a total flop 1 all draw or something but hey, I'll happily take that, any points we can get from the piggery is great for us especially considering our trip to the middle of nowhere in Russia.
Still hoping for a win though, don't care how or by how much, beating them would be amazing.

Guys, if you want to see how far the club has came since Gerrards arrival pop over to the ‘great selic’ page and have a read at the absolute fear ripping out of them.
When Gerrard was appointed is was a case of ‘U18’s coach, less experience than Murty, Rangers 2012 are a joke’. Now they are shaking in their boots with posts like ‘we will be ok against them if $Dembele is fit to play’ and ‘Rangers will give our defence a tough gig’.
What happened to we are a million miles ahead or our Brenda will wipe the floor with SG and he will be gone before Christmas? I hope we not only beat them on the 2nd, I hope will smash them and dominate the game. They have built themselves up so high that when they fall it will hurt. They will say afterwards ‘we are still treble winners and it is the first time you have beaten us in your new clubs history, blah, blah’ but deep down it will hurt like a dagger through the heart and they will know we mean business.

I've a few Celtic supporting mates and was talking to them yesterday and they were all saying that next week is the 1st old firm game in a few years they're genuinely worried about. They agree that morelos and lafferty will bully their back line all day and if they were betting men, based on current state of both teams they'd put money on us to win and that Goldson will throw griffiths about like an empty trackie.

Still think there is a lack of creativity through the midfield and I am still hoping Arfield takes that role on. I have no faith in Dorrans or Rossiters ability to stay fit and the formers ability as big game footballer. Maybe Ejaria could be the man to link the midfield and attack but it is difficult for a youngster to be very consistent in the middle of the park in our league due to bruisers.

I think he would be good option. Someone of that ilk who has pace to threaten but experience that he can bring to a relatively young team and offer support whilst Murphy returns from injury. We could do worse than Dyer in my opinion.

I think unfortunately Murphy’s injury plays straight into Hearts hands as I am sure they will feel we will be desperate to bring in a forward player. I think Gerrard want Lafferty to play on the wing as his height can cause issues at the back post when Candieas or Tav etc put crosses into that area especially with the SPL defenders struggling to man up 1 on 1 with Morelos. Lafferty wasn’t my first choice but I can see how Gerrard see’s him fitting in.

GraemeH never seen them play and all honesty never heard of them until this draw but I think Osijek were one of the hardest teams in the qualifying round (much better than Maribor) and after seeing us beat them we shouldn’t fear anybody in these qualifiers.

Personally I’d like to see the club pay him and Rossiter off. Both are picking up decent wages and are injured constantly. When they have had opportunities to start they haven’t offered much in my opinion.

Not sure about Middleton being a regular come January, he seemed like a deer in headlights during the Motherwell game when he came on. I agree that these kids do have something about them and have to be nurtured gradually into the side.
Let’s see how Sadiq goes when he is fit but if he doesn’t seem to be adding much to the team I’d rather see Rudden get a run out at the tail end of games to offer Morelos and Laff a rest.

Jason Cummings was gash. Liked his attitude and the fact he never said a bad word about his experience at the club but can’t think of one good reason or one great thing he done while at the club. Morelos and Lafferty are a big step ahead.
