Souttars united at the Gers? Harry told to leave Leicester?

R1

1.) 07 Jan 2024 21:07:56
Hope not think both are over rated.

2.) 07 Jan 2024 22:23:19
Both very decent centre backs. John doesn’t put a foot wrong when he plays for us baring in mind he always plays on the left for us when he’s a much stronger right sided centre back.

3.) 07 Jan 2024 22:33:20
Harry the better defender
John the better footballer.

Personally I don’t rate John as a 1st pick for a club of our size and don’t think he’s good enough for epl for example.

Harry I think would be great beside Goldson. I’d like a loan with an agreed fee though, maybe in the region of £5m £6m max.
If he performs to that level.
I wouldn’t be paying near £10m and so on for him though.
John will always be a back up for me.

4.) 07 Jan 2024 22:43:44
Funny seemed to put a foot or two wrong when it was him and Davis in old firm game ?.

5.) 07 Jan 2024 22:44:55
Honestly think our player standards when it comes to centre backs has fallen significantly and main reason we are not winning as much.

6.) 07 jan 2024 22:46:41
i believe he's been spoken to and about, possibly months ago.

7.) 07 Jan 2024 23:39:45
We've needed upgraded centre backs for years now, and I include Goldson in this. He's been great for us but we need more pace and consistency.

8.) 07 jan 2024 23:58:55
and we certainly won't be paying 6m,

9.) 08 Jan 2024 00:10:22
Gofor have to strongly disagree Our defence isn't the problem as we have conceded 6 less than our rivals, but they have outscored us by 12, same last year our defence was every bit as good as theirs, but being outscored year after year, we don't score enough goals, not just our strikers, everyone needs to chip in. we lost around 20 goals from midfield last season, haven't replaced them.

10.) 08 Jan 2024 00:26:15
I like John and he brings a different dynamic when bringing the ball out from the back but he does a have an error in him and gets caught under the ball quite a lot.
Apparently Harry is just as injury prone as him. We need to get away from these types of signings.

11.) 08 Jan 2024 00:47:21
Both Soutters better than McKenna, unfortunately we have not the money to be using in that position in this window, we might actually start scoring regularly from corners if Harry was in our team.

12.) 08 Jan 2024 01:08:06
John Souttar is a bomb scare at the back but decent going forward.

13.) 08 Jan 2024 02:17:35
Still on a big contract. Would have to be a loan as we could not afford to buy him.

14.) 08 Jan 2024 09:16:56
all efforts must be made in this window to bring in a striker that can score goals!

Yes we need an upgrade in Defence and almost every position barring the goalie.
But Gers does not have the money to get the level of defenders that most of you seem to expect. Plus bring in a lad that can bang in the goals. Most don't even want to pay £4-5million for Shankland.

One of our top goal scorers each season is our Right Back god sake lol (yes i know he takes the penalties, chill out)

15.) 08 Jan 2024 10:34:07
Coopersdad, scott mckenna is a left sided centre half mate, that's why we'd be better suited signing him if possible, as it gives us a much better balance at the back, not to mention he's much more suited than our other left footed centre half ben davies, for the rigours of scottish football ?.

16.) 08 Jan 2024 10:45:37
Both unfit and nowhere near what we need.

17.) 08 Jan 2024 13:05:08
I agree Ally. We desperately need a prolific striker. If we can get someone in who knows where the back of the net is the chances we create will easily win us games instead of hanging on to a one nil lead for 90
Mins.

18.) 08 Jan 2024 13:50:26
I like the idea of another big dominant central defender who can give us presence in both boxes but Harry Souttar is right footed and doesn`t give us the balance at the back alongside either Goldson or his brother that a left footed c. b would. John Souttar doesn`t always look comfortable on that side and I don`t know if Harry would be any better at it.

Romano just posted on Twitter looks like Beales gone ??.

Rangers offered Borna a new deal? Delighted if true he's worked hard pre season and been one of if not our best player this season! ? Yilmaz.

R1

1.) 14 Sep 2023 16:08:23
That’s good he’s been training good that makes up for all his rubbish performances last year and this year what you even on about.

2.) 14 Sep 2023 16:12:55
Are you kidding? He's an embarassment to the badge. He shouldve had his contract terminated post PSV.

3.) 14 Sep 2023 16:20:58
Borna will run down his contract and leave us on a free like Alfie and Kent did. Another serial loser who can’t defend and goes missing in big games. Not fit to play in and old firm but then plays 2 games for Croatia the week after. We don’t need these time wasters at our great club ??????.

4.) 14 Sep 2023 16:44:01
Also Borna called a sickie in the Euro final in extra time as he didn’t fancy a penalty.

5.) 14 Sep 2023 16:44:25
I will never forgive Borna for sitting down at the back post against Celtic and crapping it every time we’ve been in extra time and a match is heading to penalties he’s faked an injury to come off. Not the mental strength you need to play at a club like Rangers. He also isn’t getting any younger.

6.) 14 Sep 2023 17:12:51
Don’t buy into the suggestion he shat it to come off in Seville. He could barely walk by the time he left the park. The heat was absolutely brutal.

7.) 14 Sep 2023 17:59:29
Accepting mediocrity.

Barisic, Lundstrum, Jack and Roofe should all be told no contracts will be given.

Going into 2024 and we’ll have largely the same back 4 as 2018 is depressing.

8.) 14 Sep 2023 18:01:24
Time for him to leave,
We need a new defence next season.

9.) 14 Sep 2023 18:04:43
FruitBear, they were all playing in the heat. The man is a grade A bottle merchant should have been sold long before now.

10.) 14 Sep 2023 18:07:40
Wow - ‘embarrassment to the badge’ ‘serial loser’ ‘time waster’ coward (implied) ‘fakes injuries’ - this is a Ranger you are referring to……. absolutely shameful comments in my opinion.

11.) 14 Sep 2023 18:12:50
Probably been one of our best players this season been good for his country as well gets abuse of our fans sums us up.

12.) 14 Sep 2023 19:18:55
Honestly don't know how people can call themselves supporters.
No wonder some players wouldn't come near us.
Who would want to play or manage at a club with our toxic support.
Best fans in the world, Aye right.
Honest criticism is fair enough but the abuse on here is disgusting.

13.) 14 Sep 2023 18:52:20
It is possible to be unfit for a game on Saturday and then be fit for the following midweek . How many players do the opposite, miss an International game and then be fit for the club the next weekend . As I recall Bornas injury in the Euro Final also kept him out of the Scottish Cup Final, he would hardly have bottled out of an easy chance of a medal against Hearts . He has taken a number of important penalties but if he didn`t want to take one he would just have told the coach that. Anyway Gio wanted to bring on the fabulous Aaron Ramsey to take one. He cost us not Borna.

14.) 14 Sep 2023 18:55:29
Being one of the best players in this Rangers team doesn't make you a good player.

15.) 14 Sep 2023 19:00:49
If OUR players are out of form/ playing poorly etc be constructive in your criticism. They are OUR players and we should at least be respectful. Some of the comments above are shameful.

16.) 14 Sep 2023 20:31:48
Same fans moaning about the national anthem getting booed now want to abuse a player who’s not put a foot wrong this season. Not saying i want to give him a new contract but the abuse is uncalled for. he’s been a good servant. anyone using Chris Sutton's patter is not a bear in my eyes.

17.) 14 Sep 2023 20:42:42
Some of these comments on borna barisic are terrible and very degrading imo ?The guy is a rangers player and yes he's lost his way a bit over the last 18 months or so but has been playing well again this season ?I don't agree for a second that he feigns injury or is a bottler and some just have to understand that players can lose their way a bit and that's what happened to borna for me simple as that ?.

18.) 14 Sep 2023 20:46:12
Go and watch dopey at the Killie goal, doing nothing at all except sleeping, he wouldn't even attempt to tackle a fish supper, sits on the bench for Croatia and he's happy and safe.

19.) 14 Sep 2023 20:54:05
We are the best fans in the world. however if you ain’t up to playing in front of us week in week out at Ibrox we won’t be long in telling you. Some of our fans have came to accept mediocrity, others will never accept that. Step up and play or get out ??????.

20.) 14 Sep 2023 21:39:49
Self praise is no honour gazgers.
I've supported rangers through many lean periods and worse than this.
Never would I have shouted at players to f off for applauding the fans.
Best fans in the world is a phrase that needs to be earned and if this site is evidence then we ain't earned it.

21.) 14 Sep 2023 22:01:47
His crossing ability is great but the stage we are at just now with comical defending week in week out and loss of concentration constantly, it needs to change. A new contract is actually hilarious.
The conclusions people are coming to is based over a long period not just one instance of being injured or a few months of form. Both our fullbacks are weaknesses that teams exploit time and again and we continue with it wondering why we don't win much silverware.
Hes more use than yilmaz ill give him that. Get rid of both and go for Doig.

22.) 14 Sep 2023 22:36:38
Copland exactly what I said Beale has ignored defense when that was the main problem

You don't become worst team in champions League if your defense is ok.

23.) 14 Sep 2023 22:38:53
My only complaint on this one is not enough people putting Tav goldson souttar in same bracket not good enough

Boumsong
Bougherra
Amoruso
Butcher
Gough
Weir
Hendry
Cuellar

They ain't

Need better it's obvious.

24.) 14 Sep 2023 23:15:38
Agreed gofor. Its mindblowing that nobody has corrected this yet.

25.) 14 Sep 2023 23:31:45
“they were all playing in the heat. The man is a grade A bottle merchant should have been sold long before now. ”

The attacking fullbacks cover more ground than any other player on the pitch. The attacking full-backs are asked to shuttle up and down the pitch constantly. Barisic probably ran a 10k that night and it was so hot people in the stands were passing out.

26.) 14 Sep 2023 23:42:53
Hes not good enough playing in a back 4. Similar to Tav . i'd like to see both playing as proper wing backs with 3 solid defenders behind them. Can create goals, but defensivly woeful. Hisbtime is up and will leave on a free end of season.

27.) 15 Sep 2023 00:15:56
Simply not good enough too often goes back the way, has been caught so often at back post day dreaming, poor defensively only thing he has positive is he’s better than Tavernier.

28.) 15 Sep 2023 00:34:11
Until we can replace Borna with someone better then I would prefer that he stays with us. Yilmaz might be the answer, personally I don't think so, because I reckon he will head back home to Turkey.
As things stand we have failed miserably to replace everyone that has left in the summer with the exception of MGregor with Butland being an excellent replacement however I am seeing nothing so far, for a myriad of reasons, to suggest that any of the others recruited are beets than what we had.
Only time will tell but so far the omens are not good.

29.) 15 Sep 2023 03:01:57
I liked the fact that Barisic was the only one who manned up and went into apologise to Gerrard after a debacle of a bounce game performance (I can’t remember who against.! ) which was the end for Grezda and Lafferty.
Also, can we stop this ‘serial losers’ rubbish, enough parroting Sutton!

30.) 15 Sep 2023 05:20:19
CoplandFront5,i have always liked your posts mate and truly admire your input on here with the info you share with us, through your reliable sources ?I'll ask you this mate if you don't mind ?Do you think michael beale is the manager to continue with and take us forward or do you honestly think he'll be gone very shortly and if so who in your opinion will be the next rangers manager to replace him?Have you any info on who's likely to replace beale, if needed mate ?.

31.) 15 Sep 2023 06:43:21
Will be extremely difficult nowadays to get centre halfs of the ilk of gough or butcher, who are undoubtedly 2 of the very best centre halfs in our history ?Guys of that ability would cost a fortune and we couldn't spend anywhere near the amount required to sign guys of that ability.

32.) 15 Sep 2023 07:59:43
Got to laugh at the people moaning about folk stating their feelings on here about Borna, or any player for that matter, I think they think Bornas sitting at night going “I think I’ll look at Rangers Rumours and see what the fans think about me” ???.

33.) 15 Sep 2023 08:07:41
Constructive criticism was all well and good the 5 previous seasons where he was woeful. In his 6th season, its now beyond unacceptable that he is still our starting left back. He is a coward on the pitch and doesn't have the mentality, however he isn't the only one.

Simply being at the club doesn't mean they deserve too. They are not immune from criticism, especially after the years of terrible performances in big games he's given us.

34.) 15 Sep 2023 09:11:01
Sir Walter, I fully agree although sometimes you can pick up a gem as we did with Weir and we have had good centre backs since Butcher and Gough when we have looked overseas.
Scouting wise, we need to widen our net, our switch away from 'human scouts' to the use of 'new technology' might actually help although whether our current Chief Scout is the man to lead the change I just don't know.

35.) 15 Sep 2023 09:14:24
I have been a Rangers fan for many years too and one thing we are all entitled to is our opinion and our respect for each others opinions. I was at the old firm game along with my son and I have never booed a Rangers team or player and never will. However I will voice my opinion. Borna Barisic is not good enough for Rangers. Inconsistent over several seasons and he bottles it in every big match opportunity. Infact barring an on form Connor Goldson our full back 4 isn’t good enough. It pains me to say but the reality is we are going nowhere under Beale. We have no style of play, can’t shred a simple pass together and the players cannot communicate with one another effectively on the park. Beale also is tactically enept. We all see that from his stubbornness to change his team or the waiting til the 60th minute to make substitutions. It’s simply not good enough and it needs changed pronto. Whether that happens or not I guess we will see in the coming weeks. There is no coming back here for him and I think the majority of our support know that. Celtic are getting too close to our titles now so we can’t afford to get the next manager choice wrong. It can’t be a cheap option or some rookie we take a gamble on. Beale hasn’t worked lads and he needs to go ??????.

36.) 15 Sep 2023 10:02:32
“ Beale also is tactically enept. ” - Really? ?

Try reading some of his written work one day, mate. He knows more about football than you or I ever will.

37.) 15 Sep 2023 10:02:41
The fact is we will never be a top team, or be able to beat top teams with Tav and Borna as our defeders.
It's a simple as that.
In fact it doesn't even need to be a top team, as even low level teams can beat both at will.
Too much misplaced loyalty to both.

38.) 15 Sep 2023 11:26:33
Verdant I go with what I see in front of me each week at Ibrox and the current state our club is in. Beales signings over the summer apart from Butland are woeful. Celtic ain’t a good team but we are much worse. Beale has to go for that too improve.

39.) 15 Sep 2023 11:28:29
Played 90 mins for Croatia the other day you haven’t a clue.

40.) 15 Sep 2023 11:29:07
We’ve beat plenty a top teams with them in our team deluded man we were in a European final no long ago.

41.) 15 Sep 2023 11:33:23
Doig isn’t leaving Italy to play in Scotland it’s hilarious our fans think he would lol let’s go for Ferguson who isn’t good enough according to most on here then as well.

42.) 15 Sep 2023 12:23:09
As I mentioned a month ago, he’s been offered a new deal which has been rejected by his Agent. We may offer improved terms or let him run down contract or move on if acceptable bid comes in.

43.) 15 Sep 2023 12:35:32
We should have signed players like Hickey, Doig, Ferguson before they went to Italy. We missed that boat this season too with Johnstone, Porteous, Nisbet, Shankland I could go on. These are players that were proven in the SPL and that would do a job for us in the league. We miss the same boat every season and turn our nose up at these players. Why? in favour of dross like Sands, Yilmaz, Davies, Dessers players who ain’t good enough.

44.) 15 Sep 2023 13:40:31
I love that list, Hendry dumped by wee Dick after a year, Amoruso booed by our support every time he touched the ball by our support in a game at Ibrox, stripped of the captaincy because he was making so many mistakes at one point. Boumsong at the club for 6 months but was rag dolled by a big Hearts centre forward and got pelters by our support. Butcher sold because he couldn`t get back to his best after his injury and took the huff when Souness dropped him. Boumsong criticised for leaving holes in the defence by breaking forward. Cuellar criticised for not being able to come out with the ball. Weir had " no pace ". They all got stick at some point and have become greats since they left . I suspect that Tav and Goldson will be valued more after they leave .

45.) 15 Sep 2023 13:56:01
A wouldn’t sign someone who urinates on war memorials a bit awkward on armed forces day you no think.

46.) 15 Sep 2023 13:57:22
Celtic sign loads players from abroad they only have like 3 or 4 Scottish players same as us. They do ok.

47.) 15 Sep 2023 14:53:44
Raskin I don’t know who you are going on about mate but the players I have mentioned could have been signed and done a job for us. Some would have been moved on for a healthy profit. My point is we have missed a boat with our own league and signed dross instead ??????.

48.) 15 Sep 2023 15:02:31
Lawrence has hardly kicked a ball and he's in the Euro squad despite Rangers being too heavy, I really don't buy what he's saying about Ridvan. There’s clearly an issue with the player. Even under GVB he never got a look in ahead of Barisic.

Ridvan is currently competing with Sterling to be back up LB. That’s how far he’s fallen.

49.) 15 Sep 2023 15:19:22
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but Borna was part of our best defensive record in many moons he was also part of the defence that got us to the Europa Final, The difference is under Beale BB and Tav don’t get the cover from Midfield like they used to, As someone mentioned you can’t expect someone to run 10k a game create multiple goal per season and defend @100% every game it’s mind blowing to me that he get slaughtered they way he does! The CMs in our team need to do much more Defensively Cifu VS PSV was a joke!

50.) 15 Sep 2023 16:18:30
R1 hows about the midfield and attack are our main source of creativity rather than covering ageing fullbacks.
The time you are referring to is when we had jack, kamara, davis who are all naturally sitting midfielders anyway who offer next to nothing in attack. Beale has already stated he wants more from his midfielders ie, numbers.
Dont agree with what you said at all. PSV are a much better side than us that's why they beat us but domestically imo our midfield should not need to cover fullbacks every few minutes when they go up field.

51.) 16 Sep 2023 20:21:10
He may have been offered a new deal but will he take it.

21 Aug 2023 13:37:59
Matondo and Davies in Hagi and Yilmaz out.

R1

1.) 21 Aug 2023 13:58:24
Seems like the club want to move Hagi on, why punish someone for saying they want to be involved more? Makes no sense whatsoever to me!

2.) 21 Aug 2023 13:59:56
Glad Matondo in, but that only tells me Hagi will be sold.

3.) 21 Aug 2023 14:09:58
Just saw that on FB. Not looking good for Hagi.

4.) 21 Aug 2023 14:16:08
Strange decision by the manager.
Matondo for Yilmaz would have been a no brainer. Dropping Hagi just about tells us the manager doesn't want him in his plans going forward.

5.) 21 Aug 2023 14:21:39
Think yilmaz is still injured so fair enough but Hagi. wow. clearly beale not happy with his presser and slapped him in the face with this omission lol.

6.) 21 Aug 2023 14:26:54
As things stand today Hagi appears to offer more influence in games than Lammers, I would have held on to him until January.

7.) 21 Aug 2023 14:39:22
I don't this is because of what Haji said he never been involved in much at all, maybe Beale way of getting him sold, personally not bothered in he's sold.

8.) 21 Aug 2023 14:47:00
Going off what I’ve seen so far he’s better than Lammers and I think he’d thrive in that role. It’s a shame as I think he could step up for us given the chance. He’s a hard worker as well.

9.) 21 Aug 2023 14:47:45
Think that's Haji finished - after his interview at the weekend and his omission today looks like he will be on his way.

10.) 21 Aug 2023 14:54:52
Ultimately we can only have 17 non-homegrown players in the squad. I don't see Hagi getting in front of any of the 17 if we are to have a reasonably balanced squad (the closest being Matondo, but without him we literally have one sub we could make to the forward line) :

Butland

Tav; Goldson; Sterling; Davies; Balogun; Borna

Lundstram; Cifuentes; Dowell; Raskin; Cantwell

Dessers; Lammers; Matondo; Sima; Pereira.

11.) 21 Aug 2023 15:23:54
People should be concerned we are forcing all these players out the door that were first team starters and keeping the likes of matondo roofe and signing guys that are not looking great.

We are putting way too much faith in Beale.

Letting hagi go is a mistake funny how he comes on plays well then we look to move him out surely if playing well you would be seeing if he fits with this team?

Immreally concerned about our recent policies and treatment of players who want to be at the club.

12.) 21 Aug 2023 15:30:43
Beale’s presser made it abundantly clear that for whatever reason he has no intention of Ianis making the starting 11. Bit of a shame really as surely no club in their right mind would take him at a value that makes us a profit. My opinion is there's a player in there and we haven’t found the right position in our system for him.

13.) 21 Aug 2023 15:58:14
Hagi has never been a regular starter for us. We need a winger more than we need hagi.

14.) 21 Aug 2023 15:58:36
Beale never said that darth he actually said Hagi wants to play every game and not one player is guaranteed that.

15.) 21 Aug 2023 16:13:54
Hagi offers far more than Dessers, Sima and Matondo . who's only had a 20min good spell in over a year. Can't believe Beale doesn't have him in the squad for PSV.

16.) 21 Aug 2023 16:22:20
Something behind the Hagi thing, boy looks fit and say's he is,
possibly seen as a cash value and nothing else just now .

Club scrambling for income to fund deals Beale wants so he's in the market with one hand tied behind his back .

17.) 21 Aug 2023 16:28:58
I think Ben Davies has been chosen ahead of Yilmaz to play LB. Barisic the attacking option, Davies the defensive one. I would expect Barisic to start with Davies on the bench.

Hagi isn’t being forced out the club. He needs game time and is being sent out on loan. Hagi hasn’t kicked a ball in about 18 months. I actually think a short-term loan could be great for him.

18.) 21 Aug 2023 16:55:16
Hagi will be sold.

19.) 21 Aug 2023 16:59:00
Good to see Matondo getting a place. He has the potential to be a very good player for us. As for forcing players out the door, I just don't see that. Colak just wasn't of the quality needed. Sadly, neither was Sakala. i'm still hoping to see Lundstrum, Kamara, Wright and possibly Davies all move on before the end of the transfer window and I really wouldn't be surprised if both Yilmaz and Hagi also moved on. So long as we secure a good fee for them and can bring in better players I won't complain. We still need a better quality left sided centre back, defensive midfield player and right winger than any of the players mentioned.

20.) 21 Aug 2023 17:32:41
Hagi for Matondo makes sense, already have lammers and cantwell that dl a similar job to hagi (or can) matondo adds something different to the squad, pace.

21.) 21 Aug 2023 17:41:20
What? Hagi should be starting.

22.) 21 Aug 2023 18:29:19
Gadji your just making things up now behave yourself.

23.) 21 Aug 2023 18:30:48
Davies may well be a revelation at left back, he's got the engine so let's hope so .

24.) 21 Aug 2023 18:41:37
Beale every player wants 5o play every game otherwise they are not worth having.

If you are not concerned with Beales attitude you should be he has clear favourites regardless of how they are performing.

And I really hope it doesn't come back to bite us

Only good thing right now is looks like other side of city in a transition period too hopefully we can take full advantage but we need to get our ? together quick.

25.) 21 Aug 2023 18:42:33
Kelso said about Davies playing left back last year too to give us a more solid base that's hard to break down just a question if he has enough pace.

26.) 21 Aug 2023 19:02:00
Again, like Colak and Sakala before him, nobody thinks that Hagi is wonderful but we are worried about the standard of players replacing them. Dessers, Sima and Lammers are no better and to be getting rid of players to bring these three in is worrying. As for the club scrambling about to provide him with funds. He was wasted £8million so far on two poor strikers. Bringing an unfit Davies in to replace a still unfit Yilmaz seems pointless to me, we have 3 centre backs and King in the squad and 3 full backs and Devine also in the squad, so why do we need Davies . Devine and Sterling both have more experience playing left back than Davies does, if required . Unless we are going 3 at the back but that would be a huge shock as we have never done so in the past.

27.) 21 Aug 2023 19:11:58
I watched the Beale presser today about the Hagi situation. He said something along the lines of - ‘It would be good to get him out playing football and we’re looking to make that happen’. He never mentioned a transfer, or loan, but that sounds like a loan to me.

The reality is Lawrence has been out for a year as well. When to we give him minutes? Against PSV and Celtic? He might be better off out on loan too. If Hagi and Larence came back to us in January (which isn't far away) with 15 games or something under their belt it would do them the world of good.

Hagi has quality but he's not physically fit. The lad looked exhausted at the weekend. He said himself last season it was difficult for him to catch up when everyone else was already in the team, playing consistently, and they have match fitness and form. If he doesn’t get enough minutes this season it could happen again.

Rangers still have Matondo, Roofe, and a new LW is apparently being brought in. Lammers plays wide right of the front 3 but who is his backup if Hagi goes? Scott Wright ?‍♂️.

28.) 21 Aug 2023 20:11:47
Gofor is that the same hagi, sakala et al you have slaughtered on here for last w/ o years.

29.) 21 Aug 2023 22:33:00
Hagi stated in his presser that he feels fitter than before his injury after having a full pre season and he intimated that his stats confirm this. He also gave the impression that MB disagrees with this.
MB stated today that Hagi has not yet reached the levels of fitness he had before the injury so they clearly disagree on that point.
Hagi is getting frustrated and wants more action, MB will not guarantee him game time so I suspect his outing in the cup was partly to put him in the shop window.
I like Hagi whom as a player has always given his all and had a classy personality, having said that probably the best scenario in this situation is him moving on and us getting a transfer fee for him.

30.) 22 Aug 2023 12:39:36
Hagi was only on for 20 odd minutes and he certainly didn`t look exhausted. I thought he was trying a bit too hard to impress but at least he was trying which is more than we can say for the lazy guy he replaced.

Jacko 1 year deal ??.

R1

1.) 19 May 2023 12:07:39
I've mixed feelings on this one.

2.) 19 May 2023 12:12:23
Likewise ph, but will 100% get behind him, hope we get more than 9x 90 minutes next season.

3.) 19 May 2023 12:14:17
I think is worthwhile with all the changes happening.

4.) 19 May 2023 12:15:05
MPH, I know how you feel. Ryan Jack is a great player, when he is fit.
Does his inclusion in the squad fill one of the UEFA requirement?

5.) 19 May 2023 12:24:04
Yes Colin, feel the same as you mph but hopefully he doesn't pick up more injuries i reckon he'll be a very good back up.

6.) 19 May 2023 12:24:37
Mr too MPH, though I suspect he won't be getting used as much if we sign these other players.
I know he was only back, but he was at fault there for the two very good chances celtic had, giving the ball away and getting mugged.

7.) 19 May 2023 12:28:45
Correct.

8.) 19 May 2023 12:31:04
I think we play better with jack in the team as he is calm and controlled in his play. Same when he plays for Scotland.

9.) 19 May 2023 12:42:48
Gd gd.

10.) 19 May 2023 13:03:38
'When he is fit'
There it is again.

11.) 19 May 2023 13:08:14
Great news, the kind of player you need in the team to ensure the new boys "get it" quickly.

12.) 19 May 2023 13:15:04
Happy to hear this. Knows what we are about. Helps with European requirements and when fit is an important member of squad. He has played over 20 games this season so he may only be available half the time but with reliable options to replace him we will not feel the impact as much.
Jack, Raskin, Cifuentes (maybe), Dowell, Lawrence, Cantwell. Not to mention Lundstram if he stays, should see us fairly well equipped and not see a major drop off in standards with any rotation.
This would be subject to Lundstram extending contract and maintaining form of recent games for me.

13.) 19 May 2023 13:15:08
No brainer
Probably on a reduced wage and let's face it our best DM when he's fit.
Great addition to our midfield pool.

14.) 19 May 2023 13:21:40
Aye it’s a difficult one with Jack. Talented lad and a proper leader when fit but unfortunately for us and him his injury record is horrendous.

15.) 19 May 2023 13:26:07
Mistakes are part of football. To suggest someone doesn’t get a contract for a couple of mistakes is crazy. So Cletusvandamme if you make a mistake at work…. you get sacked yeh?

Consistent mistakes or just a poor level in standard is different. Jack is neither of these. Yes injuries are a concern however he will play his part behind the scenes also I would suspect.

It’s a sensible move for us considering the changes that are coming.

16.) 19 May 2023 13:55:21
Need to keep some of the guys like Jack to help new players bed in and understand what playing for rangers is all about ??????.

17.) 19 May 2023 14:13:02
That's not what I'm saying gdog, read my post again. I think he's a wonderful player, injury prone, but did make a couple of quite high profile mistakes, like we are all capable of. We are human after all. Deserves his extension, but don't feel he will get the minutes we are used to seeing, even if fit.

18.) 19 May 2023 15:31:13
I think it's a great move resigning jack.

For one he won't be the starter if cifuentes joins and he will be on the bench more playing less minutes so less likely to pick up an injury he also fills one of the Scottish European places so it's a no brainer.

And for doubters jack played more minutes than a lot of that team this year was tenth overall for minutes played.

19.) 19 May 2023 16:00:20
Jack is worthy of a 1 year deal so is Arfield we can't throw every1 out of contract out the door and both contribute.

20.) 19 May 2023 16:12:46
We cannot bring in new 2 new players for every position so, we resign some experienced players like Jack and Arfield to be back-ups.

Not seeing many young players that look ready to be on the bench with the potential to play 5 or 6 games on the bounce if the 1st choice is injured

I would not expect Jack to play 9 x 90mins as a back-up player.

21.) 19 May 2023 20:28:58
Jack was caught sleeping on the ball last weekend and O’Reilly nicked it off his feet, went through on goal, and almost scored. As far as I’m concerned he should be off and replaced. A refresh means exactly that. We need new players in to refresh the squad. If we keep giving the same guys contracts we don’t refresh, we end up playing the same guys, and then we get the same results.

22.) 19 May 2023 20:56:46
Played 10 most games in our squad last season. His injuries weren’t as bad as suggested by most on here.

23.) 19 May 2023 20:57:39
Jack has been here 7 year winning 2 trophies he’s sure amazing and telling the new boys what it’s about but lol offers more to the physio than the first team at this point. Rarely scores or assists.

24.) 19 May 2023 22:50:26
We can’t get rid and replace every single player in one window we will fill the most important positions in summer improving the 11 with this years 11 or thereabouts becoming the back up before being moved on the following two windows by which time Beale will have had 4 windows and will have the exact squad he wants and will call his own.

25.) 19 May 2023 23:01:44
Also if you bring in too many at once and some of them are not playing you can end up with unhappy players that have a bad influence in dressing room I'd rather keep guys like jack and arfield who are the opposite and are know for keeping squads spirits up and are well liked.

26.) 20 May 2023 02:28:05
Handy for the bench in case we need an experienced back up, nothing more.
His best days are well past. The new midfielders we already have and that are incoming are all better than jack now.

27.) 20 May 2023 08:07:53
Wouldn't have given him a new deal.

Team for tonight what's everyone's thoughts?

Butland
Tav CG Souttar Ridvan
Lunny
Dio

McCaus Silva Cortez
Dessers

If Matondo is available i'd play him tonight instead of Mc Caus he's better at driving at fullbacks maybe needed on a tough surface to play our passing game.

R1

1.) 28 Feb 2024 12:36:02
Think Matondo is still not 100 percent fit so I would not risk him on that pitch.

2.) 28 Feb 2024 13:19:34
He won't play silva in the 10 role. Not chance.

3.) 28 Feb 2024 14:10:47
Sterling alongside Lunny and Diomande in the number 10 role.

15 Feb 2024 11:47:52
See a lot of posts here and various other places moaning about not taking more off County last night and not being top because of it, on another night it might have been 7-8-9 but it wasn't to be the players stuck at it and got the job done played some great stuff Lawrence was class, Do think it's time for McCausland to be given a break Rabbi and Cotez look much more of a goal threat how the Goalie got Rabbies second effort onto the bar is insane ? enjoyed the performance into the next
? ⚪️ ? Dessers first goal was incredible if that's someone else that's all that's being talked about today ?.

R1

1.) 15 Feb 2024 15:46:13
Spot on mate.

02 Feb 2024 05:48:46
So who's game time goes down with Diomande signing? Been loving watching Sterling play but this lads clearly been bought to play, Been missing a ball carrier in CM for a while (not the 10) but to link the mid and forward line, If Diomande is that player and Cortez is as good as he looks think Dessers and Silva score enough to win us the league. Think Rabbi has a big part to play 2nd half if the season given a run! As some have said if we signed silva yesterday we would be cheering! let's go
? ⚪️ ?.

1.) 02 Feb 2024 08:21:10
I believe cantwells time will be reduced most if Sterling continues this form.

31 Jan 2024 21:21:17
Think we'll see Denkey at Rangers? Rumblings won't go away? Anyone?

R1

1.) 31 Jan 2024 21:33:26
I can’t see Denkey for so a number of reasons 1) valuation I’m sure it will be £7m upwards 2) I don’t see us spending that kind of money 3) why do Brugge let their top goal scorer go in January.

I think a loan deal might be the most likely at this late stage. I would love us to sign Denkey or Shankland as I think that could make all the difference. I don’t see either of those happening would love to be wrong.

Interesting to see what happens all the same and still think with current squad we have a chance at title.

2.) 31 Jan 2024 23:13:27
Agree Cantwell. I can’t see us being able to sign or seen any concrete effort in signing any of these two players. I believe there is a chance of winning the title with what we have but it would definitely be a far greater chance by signing one of these two. I personally don’t see us signing a striker now. I’m sure this late in the window we would have heard of some real solid bids being put in for players.

25 Jan 2024 08:06:26
Ridvan finally showing who he is happy to be wrong If he can keep this up, Dessers aswell he might frustrate us but his goal contributions are mounting up that was top class last night. Sterling could be the best signing of the Beale era man he's a joy to watch tough tackling, Athletic rarely wastes a ball!

R1

1.) 25 Jan 2024 09:02:38
Difficult to beat the signing of Butland but Sterling is class.

2.) 25 Jan 2024 09:17:42
I think I agree with all of that R1. Good to see Ridvan giving an interview in English last night too. Hopefully he has finally settled. Also good to see the fans giving Dessers a good reception when he came on and when he scored the goal.

3.) 25 Jan 2024 10:04:23
Very true Ally Butlands been superb, If Sterling keeps progressing IMO he could play at a very high level and fetch us a few quid on the way. Great to see Baz ?? to be fair I’m normally all for giving people time to settle Ridvan just taken a bit longer and he cost us a few quid, Hope he kicks in now and his injuries are behind him! People give Matondo a hard time I really like him as a player think he offers a lot.

4.) 25 Jan 2024 11:07:11
Thought it was noticeable how the manager and other players reacted to Dessers goal, they all look so happy for him, clearly well liked, can never fault his effort and has more quality than people give him credit for. Full team looked good, no negatives from me.

Bornas seen off everyone that’s challenged him for the LB slot, he is on the decline be delighted for him to stay as back up but think he’s still better than a rangers 2nd choice LB.

Cifu can’t get in in front of Jack/ Lunny ATM a player that has real quality would move them aside quickly even tho Lunny has been excellent, He definitely has something about him but not shown anything yet Sima will always score always create problems, players like tht are harder to come by for us IMO, Brighton normally look ahead who they will be selling bring players in early to replace they may have the time to build him into a player but we don’t! If we can get that done I’d take Sima all day! As some suggested with a sell on on Cifu as they’ll likely want the same on Sima.

Why play Lowry when he’s not good enough for hearts, we have Lawrence, Silva, Probably Sterling (he can play anywhere ?) Diomande who can all play as a 10.
