Rangers have terminated Robbie Crawford's contract.

RangersLoyal

1.) 18 Aug 2016 16:56:57
It is no real surprise. He wasn't good enough for a first eleven place. That said, I wish him every success and sure he will give 100% to his new employers.

2.) 18 Aug 2016 17:01:30
It's funny how he was the youngster that got the most game time under McCoist when he was arguably the least talented!

3.) 18 Aug 2016 17:20:18
The only talented young players then were Lewis Macleod and Barrie McKay and Mckay wasn't ready back then. There was no young players really who were good enough for the first team but were only there because of circumstances. Scotland u21 captain Ross Perry being the biggest disappointment.

4.) 18 Aug 2016 17:44:03
Agree lads don't think he was anywere near good enuf and also i don't like the way this garner deals dragging on.

5.) 18 Aug 2016 17:46:24
So we've released Robbie Crawford. No doubt in 5-8 years time he'll be one of Scotland's most expensive players. Sound familiar? Should've at least tried to get a transfer fee for the lad.

6.) 18 Aug 2016 17:58:46
what about the boy Murdoch, any news on him?

7.) 18 Aug 2016 19:29:28
Crawford was a very fit lad so covered midfield but sadly lacked the creativity necessary. I wish him the best and and hope he can kick on in a different environment.

8.) 19 Aug 2016 00:38:16
Shame about Crawford. had bags of potential. In wrong team at wrong time. but like many others, didn't flourish under coisty n co. Like Perry, Aird, Hemmings Loy etc. Only Mackay has came through.

18 Jul 2016 11:11:49
Anyone heard anything about Steven Taylor?

RangersLoyal

1.) 18 Jul 2016 11:24:54
I'm pretty sure that ones dead now, he was probably asking for too much wages, although I may be wrong, buts that's only my opinion on the matter.

2.) 18 Jul 2016 11:47:40
Mate if were going to try and lure 1 of the defenders we've been linked with for a few weeks now, it has to be Mariappa we want, not Steven Taylor bud.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 13:25:31
Agreed whatateam.

4.) 18 Jul 2016 23:54:04
I want Mariappa more than anyone but I have even conceded this is dead just as much as Taylor is! Ball or kyle Bartley r my next shouts.

5.) 19 Jul 2016 01:38:32
Kyle Bartley has went out on a season long loan to Leeds.

6.) 19 Jul 2016 01:21:50
Is on trial at Wigan played against man Utd.

10 Jul 2016 12:56:58
Jason Cummings will be confirmed as a Rangers player by the end of next week. I've been told he's agreed terms but Rangers and Hibs have still to agree a fee for the striker.

RangersLoyal

1.) 10 Jul 2016 13:22:31
No chance.

2.) 10 Jul 2016 13:35:48
You said a while back John McGinn and Cummings would sign in the summer for £1.2 Million and that was based on absolutely nothing. Your other 'rumours' seem just as poor and unsubstantiated. This looks like you have just jumped on the last guys bandwagon, alleging cummings was spotted at Murray Park.

3.) 10 Jul 2016 14:17:20
How can player agree Terms before a Transfer Fee is agreed!

4.) 10 Jul 2016 14:25:31
A player can agree terms before a fee is set as long as his club gives permission to speak to the player. Happens all the time.

5.) 10 Jul 2016 14:44:48
A Club will only give permission to speak to a player once Fee is agreed.

{Ed001's Note - not always.}

6.) 10 Jul 2016 15:38:20
Can you imagine Hibs giving us permission to speak to one of their players. before a Fee was discussed. no. me neither.

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on the circumstances. If the player has made it known he will not be signing a new contract and wants to leave, then yes I can. I have no idea if he has done that or not, just giving a possibility.}

7.) 10 Jul 2016 16:03:17
It's not happening.

8.) 10 Jul 2016 19:03:28
I still don't think there's any chance of us signing jason cummings but I do agree with rangersloyal that personal terms can be agreed between the buying club in this case rangers, the player and his agent before the transfer fee is agreed between both clubs, I knew that michael o'halloran had agreed everything with rangers before both rangers and st. johnstone agreed the fee and I got that first hand as I knew a member of the o'halloran family.

9.) 10 Jul 2016 23:57:18
So after agreeing Terms with Rangers Cummings plays today for Hibs in meaningless friendly V M'well. why would hibs put at risk a £750k-£1m Transfer fee.

10.) 10 Jul 2016 23:36:04
I hope not, but that's nonsense that a club won't give permission before a fee agreed, ? Anyway there's no loyalty in football, an agent can call anyone they like, and so can players.

18 Jun 2016 10:49:39
Wes Brown linked to Rangers on a free transfer.

RangersLoyal

1.) 18 Jun 2016 11:06:34
God help us.

2.) 18 Jun 2016 14:13:59
If MW thinks he's good enough he'll do 4 me.

3.) 18 Jun 2016 17:00:56
Big baked bean.

4.) 18 Jun 2016 22:30:28
No no no I don't want him.

17 Jun 2016 17:08:57
I'm hearing that Warbs wants all the players on his shortlist to have signed before they head off to America. The players are Steven Taylor, Niko Kranjcar and Will Grigg.

RangersLoyal

1.) 17 Jun 2016 17:33:05
I don't think Taylor will sign, would love kranjcar and grigg but not sure if we will get them. I hope we do, especially Kranjcar.

I also think the hat has a couple of loans in mind. Wait and see.

2.) 17 Jun 2016 17:51:02
Grigg is unlikely as we would need a good few million to pull that one off, would love it though as we could sing the song! :D.

3.) 17 Jun 2016 20:18:53
Agree would really like this to come off! Can't see Grigg happening possibly Bradshaw though.

4.) 17 Jun 2016 20:20:20
Glasgowisblue, "waghorn's on fire" that'll do me.

5.) 17 Jun 2016 21:13:07
Strong rumour Kranjcar deal done, can't be disclosed till his contract expires end of month .
Two year contract .

6.) 17 Jun 2016 21:49:35
Does any1 not think MW and DW should make O'halloran a striker for next season? Very pacey and i won't forget the night he destroyed our defence.

7.) 17 Jun 2016 21:53:04
He has the pace it's whether he has the finishing ability to take his chances.

8.) 17 Jun 2016 17:38:36
When is the squad heading to America I really hope we get Harrison and winks in defo to players that could do a good job for uz very exciting young players with bags of energy and a point to prove just what we look for in players.

9.) 17 Jun 2016 20:10:44
Nothing's unlikely when your Glasgow Rangers it's not the top four in the epl we don't have millions to spend on wages but it's a passionate club that wins trophys and leagues that get in to the champions league footballers r drawn to that there is players out there that it's not about money it's about winning and playing in front of thousands of fans every week and making a name for there self.

10.) 17 Jun 2016 22:17:31
Maybe he could really work at it in pre season mate.

11.) 18 Jun 2016 08:13:10
Grigg has signed an extion with Wigan so don't see that happening tho I would like to see him waggy and McKay together.

Anyone think we should try and snap up Callum Paterson from Hearts on a pre-contract in January.

RangersLoyal

1.) 03 Sep 2016 17:51:51
Wasn't impressed last week. Partick winger turned him inside out a few times. Looks slow, but took his goal well (almost like centre half LOL! )

2.) 03 Sep 2016 18:57:14
I would take him decent enough player still young and on a free what have you to lose, although hearts would be due a fee for compensation because it's not cross border not sure how much but a decent shout.

25 Aug 2016 21:52:01
With Senderos set to sign a two year deal tomorrow, who would you partner him at the back with. Personally I'd go Senderos and Wilson. ( Anyone know if Senderos is a right sided CB or left sided CB? )

RangersLoyal

1.) 25 Aug 2016 22:59:06
Rangers Loyal, like you I'd prefer the centre half pairing of senderos and wilson, I think senderos is a right centre back mate, wilson plays better with an experienced centre half beside him and its the perfect foil with senderos being a strong, rugged, no nonsense centre half whereas wilson is a footballing centre half.

2.) 25 Aug 2016 23:03:54
He is left sided.

3.) 25 Aug 2016 23:22:32
It has to be Wilson, proved it in the past that he can play at the highest level alongside someone with experience but I have a bad feeling that MW has a soft spot for Kiernan for whatever reason (gave him captaincy when Wallace was out) . From what I have seen of Kiernan he has been below average at best. Only had one good game against Celtic but then again the whole team did.

4.) 26 Aug 2016 00:07:41
Hill and senderos all day long mate! other two are shambolic!

5.) 26 Aug 2016 04:52:08
Wilson captained the club in America tho and when Kiernan had the captaincy it was because Wilson was out with the flu.

6.) 26 Aug 2016 07:03:27
people on this site cannot watch our games of they think Wilson is shambolic. he covers wallace mistakes for 90 minutes and still does his own job. Wilson is one of our best players.

7.) 26 Aug 2016 07:22:25
his marking is poor and he can't clear the ball when it comes into the box bomb scare defending!

8.) 26 Aug 2016 09:53:47
Danny Wilson has proved he can play at the required level so I think we should give the lad a break. He has all the basics of a good centre half and based on his Hearts days the makings of a fine captain. His distribution in the main is good, the only thing he lacks is a bit of physicality and there is not too much he can do about that! The reason he looks at sea some of the time is the amount of territory the Rangers CBs are asked to patrol over the course of a game. Because the fullbacks are pushing forward, when we are hit on the counter, there is way too much space in the middle of the defensive third for relatively fast mobile forwards to run into. Add to this the fact that the CBs are often outnumbered and there are more attacking options to close down than Rangers men to cover, so it is clear why we are vulnerable. This is where our defensive mids need to step up to the plate and with Rossiter and Barton, potentially both candidates for SPL team of the year, we should have the quality to sort this out. It is still early days but I expect big things of this pair. Keirnan for me is more of an issue; for his height he is poor in the air and his distribution is at best erratic, often poor and sloppy, so I would hope Senderos is here to address this? My main point is that the bombscare effect is as much a reflection on our tactics and formation as it is on our CBs ability so MW needs to rethink a bit.
The other thing MW should be looking at in my opinion is the substitution policy. This continual subbing on the 60 minute mark, driven by loading and game time is narrow minded and naive. With the bench we have there are plenty opportunities to change the pattern of a game and gain a tactical advantage by changing personnel on the field. This is what the great coaches do and MW should be prepared to do likewise. If we are behind at half time and Barry is in his marking full backs pocket why not bring on Harry (say) for the start of the second half and throw something different at the opposition. MW's approach is very professional, reasoned and thorough but lacks the mercurial inspiration of coaches who can change the coarse of a game from the touch line.
That said, really looking forward to tonight's game and another step toward's 55.

9.) 26 Aug 2016 11:41:11
I'm assuming right sided central defender. Play him and wilson. Keep kiernan OUT of the starting 11.

10.) 26 Aug 2016 11:25:08
Senderos is fight footed.

07 Aug 2016 11:09:27
Warburton will hopefully see that Kranjcar and Halliday need to be replaced with Rossiter, Forrester or Holt. Kranjcar and Halliday's work rate yesterday was awful, I'd have Holt/ Forrester and Rossiter in there all day long. Starting XI against Dundee should be:

Foderingham
Tavernier
Hill
Wilson
Wallace

Barton
Rossiter
Forrester/ Holt

McKay
Dodoo
O'Halloran.

RangersLoyal

1.) 07 Aug 2016 15:05:05
Given the lack of funds available to him from King, Warburton will always have to take risks with his transfers and Hill for me is a disaster. That is a problem because we are in desperate need of a quality centre back. For that reason and until we get a quality centre back, (or Crooks is fit), I would shift Wallace into the Middle and play Hodson at left back.

I wouldn't play McKay and I know that is controversial but I don't think he is going to hack it in this league unless he gets a dose of courage!

I would start with Forrester on one wing and MOH on the other with Barton, Rossiter and Holt behind themed them and either Windass, (if he is fit), or Dodoo in the centre of the attack.

06 Aug 2016 20:16:15
IMO we should be breaking the bank to get Josh Magennis to sign for us.

RangersLoyal

1.) 06 Aug 2016 20:29:12
yeah, someone talking sense at last!

2.) 06 Aug 2016 21:18:53
Dont really know much about him but Kilmarnock turned down a bid today from Charlton for £100,000, i think a wee cheeky £250,000 and he's ours.

3.) 06 Aug 2016 21:37:41
I posted in June that I thought he would be a decent signing. Strong and quick and would give us options at free kicks/ corners. You could see how important he was to Kilmarnock in the playoffs. He has never been prolific but maybe playing for a team that creates a lot more chances would change that.

4.) 06 Aug 2016 22:40:10
I like a bit of banter but seriously. get a grip lads. Maggennis is rubbish. Really rubbish. Couldn't cut it at the sheep or even down the road at St mirren! We ain't getting RVP doesn't mean we go from Rolls Royce to Robin Reliant. Have patience guys.

5.) 06 Aug 2016 22:51:14
Would take him in a minute. Every player does not start off as a star, they have to work at it, and I think that he would fit the bill.

TBBaB.

6.) 07 Aug 2016 07:17:22
no chance no where near good enough. we should have signed hemmings before he went down south.

7.) 07 Aug 2016 08:17:11
Cee

Would agree about Hemmings this guy proved he could score goals in the premiership and at £250k surely it was worth taking the risk. We are badly needing a striker now and depending on how bad Waghorn's injury is we may need 2. Currently we have a past it striker and a young untested guy as our only 2 options.

Achilles tendon rupture injury not expected to return till October this year. Don't think it'll be a starter.

Also reported interest from AC Milan!

Nah Holt over Kranjcar any day of the week. Double the work rate and all over the park. Kranjcar is a luxury player but would definitely bring him on to make an impact just like he did on Saturday against Motherwell.

Was very good when he came on but I can't see him starting any soon. Doesn't really look fit and also very slow for the way Warburton likes to play but he can certainly produce chances out of nothing, just like he did today. IMO he's a luxury player and will mostly be used as an impact sub this season.

Would take Windass, Kranjcar and Dodoo out. Bring in Holt, Barton and McKay. IMO we have really missed Holt in the past 3 league games, we really miss his pace and work rate and his range of passing. Been really disappointed with Halliday so far, seems to lack pace and doesn't stick with his man often enough. Barton has still to get fully fit but is getting there, as for Kranjcar he is nowhere near fit, think Warbs will use him as an impact just like today I with his two assists but I wouldn't have him starting until he is fully fit.
