SSN just reported we're in advanced talks to take Reece Oxford on loan from West Ham.

Holding MF/ Centre half.

Super Ally

1.) 25 Jan 2017 13:25:27
That's something I would never had expected.

Really hope that one does happen he is a quality player.

2.) 25 Jan 2017 13:38:23
Yeah I just seen that on sky news there, very surprised good player

3.) 25 Jan 2017 13:54:17
Hopefully goes through. Would also welcome getting Senderos off the wage bill if possible.

4.) 25 Jan 2017 13:59:15
His type of plyer is what we have been crying out for since Dom Ball left.
He could play a floating CB/ DM role depending on how far forward our full backs are.

5.) 25 Jan 2017 15:12:13
Delighted if this goes through

6.) 25 Jan 2017 15:25:51
The boy is still young and will take a bit of time to adapt but if he shows anything like his potential he'll definitely add some strength to an area that we are weak.

If he does sign, maybe we'll shift someone else off the payroll?

7.) 25 Jan 2017 15:36:18
'He's a quality player' 'He's just what we need' 'He could play a floating role'
He's 18, for crying out loud! He's played a grand total of 7 first team games!

8.) 25 Jan 2017 15:04:56
In signing reece oxford on loan it would allow warbs to play the 3 centre halfs at the back even more! This young man for several years now, continues to draw comparisons to rio ferdinand! What a compliment that is, says it all really! This would be a terrific signing for us even though its only originally a loan signing, until the end of the season!

I would really hope that there's scope for rangers and west ham, to make the loan deal longer. Instead of 6 months i'd hope we have him for 18 months! We can only hope, you never know! This is really very good news for us as reece oxford is quality!

9.) 25 Jan 2017 15:46:22
wee-ecky, he's played a grand total of 7 first team games.

For an English PL team. He's also been out injured so has missed out on some extra games.

Not sure that anyone is saying that he is the next messiah but his strengths definitely coincide with one of our weak areas.

Just think. this could be positive for our club!

10.) 25 Jan 2017 16:01:10
It's not that it couldn't be a positive for the club, BR65, it's the instant hysteria over a young kid that bugs me. It was only a matter of time before somebody mentioned Ferdinand, who was a Hammers regular by 17 and their player of the year by 19. Nothing like putting pressure on the kid before he's even signed for us! And it's also a loan, so it could take him until about April just to fit in properly.

11.) 25 Jan 2017 16:06:53
Reece Oxford wouldn't play every week if he came. He's only 18. Would that mean Danny Wilson and Philip Senderos are moved further down the pecking order as soon as a young boy walks through the door? Warbs may be looking to rip up Senderos' contract but I doubt it. Think this boy would be used as another option to Andy Halliday in Jordan Rossiter's absence. Just like Gedion Zelalem was, he will be used sparingly.

12.) 25 Jan 2017 16:22:45
Wee-Eck maybe you should chill. He is a good player who has a big future in the game if all goes well. One of the highest regarded young defenders in the prem league.
i'm not saying he gets a free role or the captaincy. Besides how many first team games did Dom Ball play before he came to us and helped us?
Some people are never happy!

13.) 25 Jan 2017 16:41:16
senderros should be as far away as possible preferably where he comes from waste of finances

14.) 25 Jan 2017 17:42:03
Keepbeleiving, I'm pretty sure West ham would want assurances he would play most weeks before sending him out on loan. Usually don't excite easily but even on a 6 month loan this excites me this boy will be a cut above any cb or midfield options we have, EASILY

15.) 25 Jan 2017 17:56:58
I'm sure DJ compared Crooks to Alan Hansen, but there u go lol.

16.) 25 Jan 2017 17:59:02
Big question is. Does anyone know what colour of boots the boy wears?

17.) 25 Jan 2017 18:06:08
Hopefully Barrie isn't leaving to make funds available for this deal!

18.) 25 Jan 2017 18:55:07
Why would Barrie leave because we have signed a DM/ CB on loan?

19.) 25 Jan 2017 19:06:56
Bluegenius, your words: He could play a floating CB/ DM role.
Where did I mention anything about a free role or the captaincy? And Ball played for us now and then in a league below, so I haven't the foggiest what you're trying to say here. Of course the boy might be good for us. Of course making contact could be good for us, if our manager doesn't make an arse of the lad. The point is the hysteria on here over a promising kid is ridiculous.

20.) 25 Jan 2017 19:40:43
Completely agree ecky he's had one good game in professional football against Man City then a few shakey performances. It's hardly a marquee signing, he's an 18 year old boy.

21.) 25 Jan 2017 20:22:03
He is a future England CB in the making and very highly regarded. Getting him in can only benefit the club and all parties concerned. I hope it goes through.

22.) 25 Jan 2017 21:27:41
Is this the same guy who almost single-handedly kept Arsenal in check in the opening league game of last season?

23.) 26 Jan 2017 09:58:51
Eck! You claim people are becoming hysteric when they are merely showing a bit of excitement/ optimism. Then wonder why people are defending their stance.
We are fully aware of his age and experience however he is another option in 2 areas we are struggling.

19 Dec 2016 13:46:03
DR are reporting we're in for Jota from Brentford after his loan spell at EIbar is due to be cut short.

I can't say i've really ever seen him play but its out there.

Super Ally

1.) 19 Dec 2016 13:55:36
Warbs rates the guy massively. It could be a good signing, we are in need of a player that can unlock defenses and that's exactly what Jota can do. That being said he has struggled for game time recently.

2.) 19 Dec 2016 14:11:46
Was he not one of his top players at Brentford?

Jota and Pritchard were outstanding for that team.

If we can get Jota in along with Solanke who's been mentioned as well it will be a great January.

Rossiter and Windass coming back in when they're fully up to speed will make the squad stronger.

Poyet was mentioned from ITK poster as well recently. Poyet, Jota and Solanke. All players better than most in the league.

3.) 19 Dec 2016 14:51:21
Only show, Unlock defences, will any of these guys lock up our defence? think that should be number one priority. Of our 4 centre halfs imo only Wilson is of correct standard and he seems to have injury/ fitness problems. Clint Hill is a good pro and mentor for the youngsters but at 38 lacks physicality to impose himself.

4.) 19 Dec 2016 15:22:11
FD, the only centreback I reckon will join us in january is Boyle from Dundalk. I reckon we will also try and get a player in from down south on a pre contract. Senderos will be away in the summer and Hill will go into coaching. So 2 Centrebacks are a must for next year.

5.) 19 Dec 2016 15:33:58
Jota was in excellent form for Warburton at Brentford and the very type of player we lack just now is direct skilful can score and set up goals rangers this has to be number 1 priority defence is good enough to get us second in the leauge we can sort this later we are lacking goals hearts and Aberdeen have scored more goals than us and even st Johnstone are only 2 goals behind us.

6.) 19 Dec 2016 15:46:39
the two guys from Dundalk went to Preston North End.

7.) 19 Dec 2016 16:30:13
Gram, never even noticed that. Surprised we didn't pursue them more, I don't see PNE offering anymore than 10k a week. I reckon their wages were more likely to be 6-8k. With Boyle going there, Bailey Wright could now be a player we could pick up?

8.) 19 Dec 2016 16:44:36
for me we shouldn't be looking at the irish league as for me none of the mentioned would strengthen our team just my opinion.

I would likethe manager to try lure kyle bartley leeds. the guy is in good form just now and better than anything we have at the moment. big strong no nonsense defender that has pace aswell as brains. maybe not the best in the world but would be best in the league if he came here.

9.) 19 Dec 2016 17:59:34
Leeds skipper mate, they are going better than they have for a while too now. Will be on decent cash and plays in front of decent crowds (although not a patch on ours! ) would love to see it happen, highly unlikely though.

10.) 19 Dec 2016 19:06:42
Think give young Burt a run and get the lad Thomson back from Raith, they will add to the squad and can unlock defences. Also let's get young Hardie back in January and in the first team squad. These 3 plus a quality central defender will add to the squad and secure 2nd place.

11.) 19 Dec 2016 19:06:42

12.) 20 Dec 2016 11:25:35
For me we need a midfielder to get beyond the striker and that's direct. I haven't seen this guy play much, if at all, but i can recall seeing his name on the scoresheet a few times in championship.

I trust the manager.

13.) 21 Dec 2016 00:20:29
Thorn 76, would this be the same Solanke whose contract negotiations with Chelsea stalled when he demanded £50k a week? The guy who is yet to play a senior game this season?

19 Aug 2016 16:02:41
Onto a more positive not, albeit a known one.

Joe Garner is in Auchenhowie just now and the deal should be completed this evening.

3 year deal.

Ladbrokes have just suspended betting on RVP transfer.

If it goes through. WOW.

Super Ally

1.) 28 Jul 2016 11:50:27
Jim White just tweeted that according to very strong source within Ibrox that the story is completely fabricated!

2.) 28 Jul 2016 11:52:24
Has anyone checked with John Menzies about which planes for turkey are due in?

3.) 28 Jul 2016 12:01:26
He's on a jet 2 flight at the moment from dalaman, got a mate on the plane, so my mate says anyway.

4.) 28 Jul 2016 12:10:12
Haha, let's not start this Menzies caper again.

5.) 28 Jul 2016 12:28:20
Guys can we all be sensible here for a minute. In 2002 RVP was on the brink of joining us, but terms could not be agreed. I can't honestly seeing us paying those kind of wages like we did back in the early 2000's.

6.) 28 Jul 2016 12:53:05
Skybet odds on RVP as at 1240hrs are Rangers now at 4/ 7 - Stoke at 4/? and West Ham 8/ 1 - unlike the banter earlier in the week I know nothing about any flight details regarding RVP - the rumour at 8 am today was that an Airport Duty Manager ( there are several) had asked security when RVP was arriving- and, as usual someone overheard that or has passed it on - I'm only passing on what I was told this morning. - Co-incidental that the bookies odds were 6/ 1 yesterday - It's easy to suggest that it wouldn't take much money to lower the odds but wouldn'tStoke and West Ham fans be putting the odd fiver on RVP going to them? Let's, see what happens.

7.) 28 Jul 2016 13:13:09
Hope if this is true that it does not upset dressing room with blowing our wage structure .

8.) 28 Jul 2016 13:28:44
Oh aye i can just see Waggy n Miller demanding a transfer once they find out RVP is on more than them 😀😀😀.

9.) 28 Jul 2016 14:12:28
Bluenose33, Rangers had agreed terms with RVP in 2002. The problem was the deal could only go thru unlesd we sold a couple of players which didn't happen and Arsenal jumped in.

14 Jun 2016 13:09:28
The Herald have reported that Walsall are resided to the fact they are losing Tom Bradshaw to Rangers.

Quotations however just show the manager said he's prepared if he's leaves, modest mention us.

Super Ally

1.) 14 Jun 2016 14:20:42
Not to fussed if we get him or not he's not that good.

2.) 14 Jun 2016 14:27:28
got to say he looks an ok player don't know if he will be a hit up here or if he is an improvement on what we have already.
but what's his price and is he worth it bears?

3.) 15 Jun 2016 12:59:18
watched some more footage of him and I honestly think that he is not the quality of player i'd like to se at rangers we should shop abroad and get some bargains from south America befor we look into buying devision 1 players> .

at least be looking in the championship for better quality!

its just starting to annoy me that we are only linked with players no-one else rates or has even heard of.

I think a lot of us have been a bit harsh pointing the finger at pedros team selections being poor.

What i've just realised, and saw on FF, is that we're due to play the first qualifier for the Europa League on the 29th June, which means the transfer window isn't open and we'd have to use our current crop to negotiate an away tie first before being able to use any new signings.

Must be the reason we're seeing persistence with the usual suspects, plus we've got to put them in the shop window.

Super Ally

1.) 08 May 2017 14:23:47
In Scotland the transfer window opens on June 9th., so Pedro has to have his targets all tied up and ready to sign immediately. If he has to go into the qualifiers with the majority of these wasters in his team we won't be in Europe for long!

2.) 08 May 2017 15:12:31
Usual suspects? Who else can he possibly play? And no, I don't coincider our youth players a viable option to come in all at once and replace most of the team.

He plays the hand he is dealt at the moment and at the same time has the chance to determine if any of these players has some fight or interest in the club about them, hopefully he can see that they don't for the most part and is supported to make the required changes.

3.) 08 May 2017 15:59:38
I stand corrected TOMUSA, thankfully.

4.) 08 May 2017 16:40:20
Super Ally, let's just hop and prey that we see some quality arrivals very quickly after the Transfer Window opens!

5.) 08 May 2017 23:02:15
Surely Forrester can't be any worse than the jokers that are playing. Not saying he is the answer but he has shown more than Windass or Waghorn.

29 Dec 2016 08:21:56
I don't know about you guys but i thought the 3 at the back last night was working up until we put them back into the game, given after that their manager saw that and changed it and we just couldn't break them down.

I understand the frustrations and such but i just don't understand sacking a manager at any point given what we've been through. Its tough seeing the other side going on such a high but what do we expect, finishing second and a decent cup run at the moment is suffice, the players will be better after getting this season under their belt.

Super Ally

1.) 29 Dec 2016 08:52:57
I agree thought the back 3 looked decent, Kiernans error is part and parcel of playing the way we play, yes it was a bad one but these things happen. If anything I'd be asking why the keeper can't go long there. surely he can see the STJ forward line pressing us.
Wes was quite commanding. McKay look lively, Holt and Windass were quite direct. Only point for me was again Halliday didn't do enough. He should be dominating the middle of the park. Garner and Miller were decent and when Waggy came on we had another option to go long. Though we played well in stages and in the first half it could have been 2 or 3.

2.) 29 Dec 2016 10:39:21
Agree with that. If you look at goals conceded we are not really that bad this season, although certainly scope for improvement. Real problem is lack of goals, 27 in 20 games, way behind Aberdeen and hearts and let's forget about Celtic. Again last night we should have been 2 or 3 up before the Kieran bloomer. I like Garner, he brings a physicality, but is not a goal scorer. His record makes that clear. Only Dodoo is a natural finisher, would like to see him paired with Garner. If we concede a goal a game we need to score at least 2 or 3. Can't recall us scoring 3 this season and seldome more than one.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 15:06:19
Windass played well, but Holt has deteriorated this season, as much as I liked him last season, he looks like a £65,000 player.

4.) 30 Dec 2016 01:48:59
Super Ally: "i just don't understand sacking a manager at any point". So you would have stuck with your namesake?

5.) 30 Dec 2016 11:07:20
What is the point in sacking the manager when there is no one better to bring in! Celtic responded to us beating them last season by bringing in an English Premier League Manager. They already had a decent quality side and gave him money to improve the team. They can continue to do this.

If we bring in a new manager, and again I would question, Who! then we would need to provide them with a transfer war chest of at least ten million pound and even that would not necessarily be sufficient to win the league.

We have to hope that with European Football on the horizon that some form of compromise can be reached between King and Ashley, right now the only ones that are suffering as a result of their intransigence is the rangers supporters. That way we can surely see serious investment in the club, a better quality of player and if results continue as they have been, a new manager, but let's not jump out of the frying pan into the fire with a panic move for a second rate Scottish Manager!

07 Aug 2016 09:24:01
Lack of chances?

16 on target.

I'd be worried if we were not creating any chances, didn't have pops at goal. Some of the newer guys, and older ones, got a shock yesterday by the demand the fans will have. Its upto them if they go to strength or fall into their shell.

Waghorn as a striker, Miller as a back up. Miller won't run in behind and his distribution has always been poor. He's always played well turning behind a defence and doesn't do that anymore. Whether or not its because he can't or won't we need that.

MW is the best thing that's happened to us and i still can't understand how we actually got him to come here, to say all this negative sh*te after one game is nonsense.

Super Ally

1.) 07 Aug 2016 10:59:27
Where did you get the 16 on target from?

2.) 07 Aug 2016 11:02:02
How is MW the best thing that's happened to us? Are you rating him better than all the previous managers and some of the wonderful players that have played for us? Think your being way over the top about a manager who hasn't won a major trophy yet or the league title.

3.) 07 Aug 2016 11:08:18
Super Ally

While I disagree with a lot of your post I totally agree about players not understanding the demands of the crowd and taking them by surprise.

4.) 07 Aug 2016 11:22:08
SA, don't know where you get 16 on target from! The Hamilton goalkeeper had about 2 saves to make all game.

5.) 07 Aug 2016 12:06:37
10 Shots sorry, 4 saves and 6 blocked.

He plays expansive football and has unearthed some decent players on a next to nothing budget, in recent years he is the best thing yes, given what we've had over the last 5 years.

Honestly what do you want us to do, spend money we don't have again aye. No retail revenue means we have to work in a very constricted budget and i'll admit some of it shouldve been used on a CH. But we needed squad depth and experience as well.

6.) 07 Aug 2016 13:51:25
No, we want DK to honour his promise to invest his money. He made the promise. On several occasions.

7.) 07 Aug 2016 09:36:08
Im in agreement with you super ally. I didn't think we played that badly. A couple of scary moments in defence. To many negatives on here regarding our performance and individual players. People have to get behind our team and not only sing when we're winning.

05 Aug 2016 17:25:24
I think its became abundantly clear that our next signing (s) if any will be loans from BPL teams once they've registered their 25 man squads.

I think someone from Arsenal could be a good shout. Wishful thinking if i'm honest but our manager has outlined he's happy with what he has; he's not going to exactly say the defence is rotten either.

I liked Dom in the middle but wasnt very sure when he was at the back. Guy like Rob Holding might be a good shout from Arsenal. Omerou from Chelsea. Thiago Ilori has been mentioned from Liverpool also, then again who hasnt.

Touch wood we get something soon.

Super Ally

1.) 05 Aug 2016 17:48:26
He said the same thing last season in January and the summer before making new signings.

Happy with what we have isn't a resounding endorsement of the squad nor is it a put down on the verge of a new season, he's playing his cards close to his chest as always, smart man.

Ball seems the most likely to come in just now given the time it's taking. Would rather a loan from the Premier League than a 35 and upwards journeyman who'll give us one season at most anyway.

We might be able get a good loan for more than a season.

2.) 05 Aug 2016 18:03:18
Mr warburton certainly looks calm and collected considering we definitely need a decent centre back to tighten the defence up a bit, but like you say it's looking like it could be a loan player which we won't know until the teams down south name their squads, just for the record I heard Julian lesscott name mentioned today at work but no idea where this rumour came from, personally I don't believe it but just passing on what I got told.

11 Jun 2016 12:57:48
"Of course, that’s the nature of being me. It comes with the territory. But without being disrespectful to the players up there, people keep talking about Joey Barton v Scott Brown. He’s not even in my league – he’s nowhere near the level of player I am. "

Joey Barton adding fuel to the fire. Put it this way, he's not telling lies.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 15:44:41
Your point being.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 14:30:11
Well put joey barton, the fact scott brown has made moneu from football and gets spoke about like he's some sort of ledgend amazes me.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 16:40:14
Scott Brown is still trying to stop running after Barry McKay turned him inside out!

5.) 11 Jun 2016 16:43:35
joey barton many times has he played in champions league.

6.) 11 Jun 2016 16:46:35
On yerself Joey Barton! Love a bit of fighting talk, and let's face it. He's not exactly known for shying away! Absolutely brilliant!

7.) 11 Jun 2016 17:01:37
joe joe, playing in the champions league dosen't make you a superstar! efe ambrose has played in it and even you will say he's mince

barton has played at a considerably higher level of football consistently over the past ten years more than broony.

8.) 12 Jun 2016 08:32:53
Gotta b loving joey Barton! ! I love a bit of self confidence in a player, especially 1 who had the ability to back it up.

FDB has a better winrate percentage than Rodgers, and that's with his two stints at Inter and Palace.

I don't bank on that alone as being a good reason but considering his fit at Ajax and compare that to us its not too far away expectation wise.

The given would be it would mean a greater backing than Murty purely due to the differences in style.

Before anyone drones on about 4-3-3 again and recalls a manager who had an inability to have a plan B, FDB is not like that he's got previous for adapting his team to deal with opponents as well.

Murtys already been told he's not going past the summer.

We've been in dialogue with FBD for a while now, originally it was what we could offer vs what he would want to take the job.

For me its a no brainer. If a player is from the outside looking in who do you want to play for? Graeme Murty or Frank De Boer?

FDB all day. Plus he has the credentials for coping with demanding supporters, tried to implement a style of play at CP and got 10 games? CP are a basket case of a club as it is anyways.

It's FDB.

With better players he'll undoubtedly play better.

A lot of the time last year the opposition just crowded him out, with other threats in the team he'll get more space, time etc.
