Joleon lescott being released by villa, that would be a very good guy to shore up the defense, night be too costly, but had a good career and just may fancy going for Europe with Rangers, ? May just be a target.

Please no.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 13:32:28
The guy is rubbish, have to do better than that.

3.) 07 Aug 2016 13:43:48
Read DK statement- we aren't signing anyone else, especially someone on a big wage.

Of course, there will be money to spend in January - another lie.

4.) 07 Aug 2016 18:09:06
Thought he said he would be very surprised if we didn't get someone else in before the end of the month?

Then went on to say we will also look at our position in January?

5.) 07 Aug 2016 20:03:58
the guy is far better than wht we have not scared to tackle and can win a ball in the air unlike the 💩we have the now.

6.) 07 Aug 2016 14:49:06
I heard lesscotts name mentioned to me on Friday from a guy on the building site I work on, but I can't see that happening with wages again being the main obstacle plus he can be a bit of a bomb scare at times, but he could probably do a job for us.

This will upset some people, But warbs should be looking at a couple of former heroes, in particular Davis and especially greegs, before anyone raves on about leaving us, try to get the big picture, these were young men with glorious careers ahead.

They had mortgages much bigger than yours, school fees, cars to pay fir, and other outgoings, they also had advisors who would have disowned them i'd they hadn't gone immediately. I am true blue, I believe greegs is too, and Davis and Naismith, even after his ill advised statements, I'm sorry he ever got involved in the tv thing, greegs would send shock waves through the green side.

1.) 14 Jun 2016 14:35:27
Davis, yeah sure. Naismith, no.

2.) 14 Jun 2016 14:36:26
davis i would welcome back in a heart beat as he was the only one who made sure that we got a fee of sorts but doubt we could afford him,
mcgregor, naismith, lafferty. not a chance.

3.) 14 Jun 2016 14:13:11
Tomtom12 steve davis left us with his head held high mate, imho.

4.) 14 Jun 2016 15:51:40
Only Davis for me but I doubt he'd leave the EPL again, he starts most games.
Why the need for old players anyway, I'm excited about new potential players recruited by Mcparland, not rehashing the past. The football played when all they players mentioned were here was awful to watch anyway (albeit successful) , we've moved on and so have they.
McKay, Forrester and Rossiter are our future now, and believe me it will be a lot better to watch once it all clicks. I also have a funny feeling when we do eventually get to Europe it will suit our new system to a tee.

5.) 14 Jun 2016 17:42:02
Rangers could not afford Steven Davis, he has done really well at Southampton and is now very highly regarded down south, unfortunately for us.

6.) 14 Jun 2016 17:45:44
I think we need to look forward and never back. Richard Gough and Trevor Steven aside, very few players come back to a club and are successful.

As much I would love to see Davis et al back, I think we need to move forward with the Young Team and a few select old heads.

Greegs is arguably passed it, Naismith's second touch is a tackle and Girraferty, well I will leave it at that.

7.) 15 Jun 2016 02:06:13
One or two players that I'd like to see back at Ibrox but due to wages/ fee it ain't going to happen Davis being one, but got a GUT feelin that if we brought Fleck back he would fulfill his potential under Warbs and become the player we all thought he was going to be at the team he was supposed to do it with! I know we've got players in the midfield but we are still waiting on the Krankjar deal to materialise, dunno what it is but think the guy would excel with Warbs and co, I read that he is comin to end of contract at Coventry and although they want to keep him and think he was voted their player of the season he's stalling! Just my opinion on a player returning and one that's a real possibility, telling ye the boy would turn good, mixing the fact that he'd be learning a few things from Barton too and it sounds even better! ;)

Well said. Credit where it's due.

2.) 06 Mar 2016 11:10:56
Same from me, I have been a critic of wilson and mckay but as I said yesterday they were both class. I have also had a debate with a few regarding a gap between celtic hearts aberdeen and us. After yesterday's result and performance against one of the better Spl sides I have to hold my hands up and say that we should not be worried about hearts or aberdeen because if we play like that we would destroy them and would likely beat celtic too in their present state. I still however standby what I said regarding getting 5 better quality players in the summer because let's be honest celtic will have a new manager next season and will probably throw a lot of money to try and stave off our challenge. I have no doubt that warbs will get what he wants and already knows who he wants. Credit where credit is due my hands are up and acknowledge that I got a couple of shouts wrong in respect of where our team is with regards to competing at the top. Was buzzing leaving ibrox yesterday.

3.) 06 Mar 2016 14:32:04
I would rather be in our situation than Celtics. We have a great manager and a good squad needing a few additions. Celtic have a terrible manager and they're squad is over loaded with mediocre players that they don't need. If we hit the ground running next season we could easily be in with a shout with winning that league next year. Be interesting to see the quality of player we bring in. Can't wait.

Anyone watching question time ?
Jermaine jenas, ===pathetic, what is he doing on a political debate. ? , embarrassing, a football player on a political forum with serious issues, his only input was " if taxes have to go up to pay for things then I agree"why is there a football player on question time. ?

Tomtom12

1.) 04 Mar 2016 00:44:30
Taxing issues debate? Well I never!

2.) 04 Mar 2016 08:19:32
Some of thw footballers are pretty clever though i doubt a 3% rise in taxes is going to affect his running of his ferrari to the normal family on a normal wage trying to keep a roof over there head and feed them, i understand that many do good work within communities but at the end of the day they still get to go back to there mansions on an astronomical wage especially down south.

3.) 04 Mar 2016 09:48:51
Sorry tom I thought he was very articulate and knew what he was talking about', just because he was a footballer doesn't mean he's stupid, I quite like jermaine he's a very good pundit on motd.

Guys, some may have gotten the impression I don't think Rangers are good enough to challenge next season, they would be correct, but no, one should ever be confused that I am a Rangers fan from the tip of my toes to the hair on my head, I am very concerned that some are believing we are ready to challenge Septic, we aren't, we are a good footballing side, when we are at it, but we must remember they have a lot of cash to spend and will have a new manager next season, we must really be aware of that, I have always supported Mr King, from day one I knew he was the one man we should trust, I think he has done us proud, , just lets
cal down now, let us win the leag and enjoya that experience, and not declare ourselves as champions of the world, let zmr king and.

Tomtom12

1.) 03 Mar 2016 23:39:07
I agree, like you I believe that we are in a great place. Our club has been transformed from top to bottom, we have a board I think we can trust, a manager who is doing a great job and has dignity and composure beyond belief. The youth and scouting set up is class. The appointment of frank mcparland was a major coup and the team is playing great football. It certainly won't be as easy as some think it will be next season. However with the right signings then there is no reason why we can't be up there challenging. Mw will already know who he wants I'm sure. It is exciting times and can't wait for saturday's game. Celtic will probably have a new manager and will spend to try and keep us away from them. Its going to be a good fight, won't be easy though.

2.) 03 Mar 2016 23:16:10
Tomtom12: I agree, I am a positive poster but Celtic will have to make changes next season ad they will be fired up, as we will be also.

3.) 04 Mar 2016 01:02:30
As the Boss has said from the very beginning with no disrespect. It's about Rangers no one else. Let them come. At the end of the season we can be judged. Also said, we'll play 433. We'll never take the ball to the corner. All true The media hate it. I love it.

4.) 04 Mar 2016 09:34:40
Why would we not be challenging for the league?
Both DK and MW say there will be investment and the quality in Scotland is VERY low level. Tomorrow will give us a heads up of how much needs to be done, but I am sure the club management are aware that challenging is not out of reach.
I will risk a couple of quid on us winning the league.

5.) 04 Mar 2016 09:53:23
My honest opinion is we are not yet ready but this summer is massive for our club, it's all going to come down to what players we sign and who we let go.

6.) 04 Mar 2016 10:01:20
Tomtom12,you may find this strange but I 100% agree with your post here mate! I share your view that we are currently without doubt going in the right direction and have got a very good management team in warburton and weir who have a longterm project for our football club and are doing a tremendous job thus far, I do think we'll need to consolidate next season and trust warbs in player recruitment for our first year back in the big league, although I really do think we'll do well I'm also a realist and think even allowing for the demands of our great football club I think a top 3 finish in our first season back in the big time would be a good season, although I'm not for a minute saying glasgow rangers as an institution shouldn't be aiming to win the league because at this club this should always be our goal! What do we think bears, what would be a realistic finish in your eyes?

7.) 04 Mar 2016 12:05:45
you play it safe and say top 4, selik, hearts and the sheep, but correct me if I am wrong, hearts are 3rd and played in the championship last year. Did hearts have as good a team as us NO, did they play as good a brand of football as us NO, did they have as good a manager as us, NO, and if DK splashes the cash did they have the same level of investment as us, NO, but despite this in their first year back it looks like they going to finish 3rd.

Selik are getting worse, we are getting better so let's be honest, why can't we win league if we invest in the summer, why are we supposedly so far behind? Selik have a bunch of overpaid foreigners and a terrible manager.

we have built young hungry team, with a winning mentality, and that goes along way, add in some quality and experience next year and we are to a good thing.

All you doubters keep doubting, but I am a forward thinker and a optimist and I do not see why the mighty Glasgow rangers cannot go and turn that who premiership upside down and win it next year!

! and bring on Dundee on Saturday, should be an epic match between both!

8.) 04 Mar 2016 18:37:28
Great post m3lvo. I'm the same as you. We will invest and strengthen and I cannot for the life of me see anything to fear over the other side of the city. If Deila wins the league
I think they will stick with him. That would be their undoing as I don't think he can pick his nose much less a team. Don't get me wrong with the squad they have they should be doing much better but a 25 point gap as an earlier poster said - not a chance!

Rangers have absolutely no problems selling season tickets pal, why would anyone go to this kind of trouble during such a time, just to sell another few tickets,? Rangers sell 50,000 every season.

Btw, Rangers have offered to pay for an investigation, nowhere to hide now, what you make of that Marty? Need to sell tickets eh? That’s something they always do anyway.

You may be right mate, I don’t remember anything being said other than there was no clause, I’m sure we would know about it, celtic scream it from the rooftops about add ons.

They can’t change the rules now mate! They will survive the vote but will quietly be disbanded and take the clubs money, then next in line, a nonentity called mike Mulroney will step into his promised nest, unless the clubs change things after this is over, it’s a laughable situation in Scottish football, truly outlandish.

Mainly because Scotland doesn’t produce good football players anymore, the Europeans play a different game than any coached here, that’s why, and this will upset a few, both old firm clubs won European trophies, Celtic in particular, had it pretty easy, Rangers wasn’t to be fair, but at that time both clubs were among the very best in Europe, I well remember Wednesday nights in Glasgow city centre heading back from ibrox to maryhill and coming across Tim’s after 2 massive games in Europe, great days but different game altogether now, Scottish football is posh, simple really.

Only way rangers will end up in English football is if the epl collapsed and there was a massive rethink.
