Even if rangers beat morton warburton is still on sticky ground a few bad results against dundee and st jhonston and warburton is sacked before the old firm game i predict . Remember i said this slate me if i'm wrong. Next 3 matches critical.

1.) 08 Feb 2017 17:12:49
Can I remind everyone a favourite son Sir Alex FERGUSON faced same problems at Man Ute until he won FA cup . Then look what happened and after he left one of the richest clubs are languishing in the Premier league

2.) 08 Feb 2017 18:02:31
Can I remind you that favorite son had already won the Scottish league and a cup winners cup with Aberdeen. Surely you can't be comparing the 2 managers😅😅

3.) 08 Feb 2017 18:22:21
Who with any sense would compare Ferguson and Warburton?

4.) 08 Feb 2017 18:44:42
The bully, Fergus0n, was a big success before he went to Man U though.

5.) 08 Feb 2017 19:52:39
Am I the only one that's sick of all the MW out nonsense. The mans doing a decent job considering he's being hamstrung by the board. He's having to pull together a team from loans and free agents. Yet the majority of our fans expect us to pump Celtic and no doubt challenge for the champions league

I'm not comparing MW to him but it took Klopp a number of years to challenge with Dortmund. MW has always said this was a long term project . get behind him and the team and stop the sack him nonsense. Reality is no one with any sort of predigree would what the job anyway as they'd be on a hiding to nothing.

6.) 08 Feb 2017 20:10:16
Warburton could be a great manager but his stubbornness to stay with the same tactics is ruining his reputation.

7.) 08 Feb 2017 20:34:42
Rafbob

I agree.

Why doesn't he change things when games are going against us instead blaming luck etc.

Why are the messengers being "shot" for pointing it out?

8.) 08 Feb 2017 22:03:48
He has lost the plot, going on about stats today. 26 shots at goal 15 corners against Ross County, any other day we would have won the game

Celtic played them off the park in semi final of cup yet he said the gap was closing? Can't have it both ways.

9.) 08 Feb 2017 22:16:34
Look how long it took him to drop Halliday and Kiernan and even then he still found a place on the bench for the latter.

A good manager learns by his mistakes and takes action to ensure that they do not reoccur but unfortunately Warburton appears to be too stubborn to learn. As far as his substitutes are concerned he appears to have them picked in advance rather than use players strategically as required.

10.) 08 Feb 2017 22:27:20
@dogg u think winning 12 out of 24 games is a 'decent job'? Not expecting us to compete with celtic that that's only 4 games a season so I would be expecting us to b doing far better than 12 wins from 24 games. Something HAS to change!

11.) 08 Feb 2017 23:02:22
Can't believe there are still people trying to make a case for Warburton. You can slant it anyway you like but he is still completely out of his depth and never a manager.

The stats show him to be hopeless.
Team selection and tactics? hopeless.
Transfers of £1.8 mill for Garner, £500k for MOH and £250k on a reserve goalie? hopeless.

Sooner he is gone the better

12.) 08 Feb 2017 23:21:28
Well said Dogg. some folk on here are on a different planet. Warbs got us promoted last year. easily. won challenge Cup and lost narrowly in Cup Final. this Season. narrow defeat in league cup semi. going to finish 2nd or 3rd in league. and still in cup. reading about Deboer and Klinsman coming. are you guys on drugs. In Warbs we trust. well i do

13.) 09 Feb 2017 02:42:41
Bears. Just thought I'd post this BUT I really think ICT will get a result against the tic the only reason for this is that they always seem to mess up the treble and a loss is well due! I know its far fetched but something just feels like an upset is comin SO we'll see but think there going into this one thinkin its already won. Need to wait and see Bears but if it happens I'll be back to say god dam knew IT!

14.) 09 Feb 2017 03:00:06
Wish people would stop defending warburton the guys record this season is a mess I've seen managers sacked for less i love rangers and i want what's best for the club i want cash injected and an experienced manager coaching the players who knows mabye DK will splash some money this summer or he can get out simple as that i hope someday DK reads my post i doubt but i want to see a more known rangers team that fights in europe and challenges celtic all the way not 27 points behind.

15.) 09 Feb 2017 07:14:18
Chinabairn, it was anything but a narrow defeat in the semifinal this season, going by the tragic hats methodology of stats, we shouldve won by a lot more. there's only 3 simple stats that count, win, lose, draw. No one cares about narrow wins or defeats. A big defeat is just the same as a narrow one.

16.) 09 Feb 2017 10:42:20
Going by what yiu said it WAS narrow then.

17.) 09 Feb 2017 12:45:47
I think people can look at the current situation from an outside/ neutral perspective and think it's all OK, decent, whatever. But anyone that goes to games, home and away and witnesses first hand the performances, stubbornness and lack of tactically ability can only come to the conclusion that it is time to seek an alternative to the management team we have.

Yes, they got us promoted last year but if you think back we had very little positive performances from Christmas onward. There's no point us talking about beating Celtic last year, the circumstances were so massively different but was no doubt a great day. We haven't felt that sense of achievement and pride since that result which is poor. When we win, we struggle to a win. I don't like calling for the head of a manager but I've seen us put in pathetic performances too many times since the league was won last year and watched a manager struggle to change games and fail to move us on to the next level in general.

He's a nice guy but cannot be there next season.

18.) 09 Feb 2017 22:26:58
Bhampot

Your right that semi final could easily have been 5 or 6. I've never seen such a one sided game. Strange how Warburton only comes out with statistics when it suits him

19.) 09 Feb 2017 22:58:36
With all due respect bhampot we got beat 1-0 with a late goal. hardly a humping. by a team playing in champions league i remember when Smith was manager over 20 years ago when we had world class players that when we played Celtic they used to pummel us for 89 mins but Goram or Klos would perform heroics and then a moment of magic from Laudrup gazza or coisty in a rare counter attack would generally win the game. that Semi was like that. except it was them who scored. They are miles ahead of us Celtic.

We're erratic this season but have still played some good football. We are a work in progress and the jump up from 2nd tier fitness ability and pace has been a shock to the players. Unless we get massive investment from somewhere its going to be a slow crawl back to the summit whether it be Warbs or anyone else

20.) 10 Feb 2017 00:02:18
look i don't rate kiernan but i'm not sure senderos is the answer i'd rather bring in a youth player to play there

Go on DK get frank signed up and give him a little money to spend this summer then ill trust your serious about building rangers. Time is running out for DK i think soon you will see just how far DK is willing to go on rebuilding rangers will they be a shadow of what they were before? Or will DK push the boat out?

Wes1

1.) 15 Feb 2017 17:49:34
Bad news wes, he said he has already pushed the boat out by overspending and they are now behind on next season plans. I can honestly see the board turning against him soon as to much talk and not enough action.

2.) 15 Feb 2017 22:28:14
I am still struggling to see what proportion of the monies invested by way of soft loans has been contributed by King. The Cynic in me would believe that if £18m has been invested, (and that has to excluded the share purchase, which is a separate issue), the Three Bears, the Far East Guys and the Rangers Support, has put significantly more into the Club than King has.

It would certainly be interesting to see the breakdown!

13 Feb 2017 23:50:37
I want alex as manager for now then i want de boer as full time manager and i want 15 million for transfer funds . I got my wish last week about warburton.

Wes1

1.) 14 Feb 2017 01:07:12
15 million more chance of getting a unicorn.

12 Feb 2017 17:11:39
Alex mcliesh wants a call from rangers.

Wes1

1.) 12 Feb 2017 17:34:17
Please not Alex Mcleish, defensive boring outdated style of football, chased from his last few clubs. Let billy Davies have it for the remainder of the season to see if he can cope with it .

2.) 12 Feb 2017 22:33:36
Taking Billy Davies would be almost as bad as appointing Neil Lennon!

3.) 13 Feb 2017 08:09:55
Alex Mcleish defensive? this is a guy who won the league on goal diff against a Selik team that had that swedish guy that use to play for them who knew wer the nets wer

4.) 13 Feb 2017 18:31:57
McLeish to enlist Rae and McCann to assist with training and tactics.

12 Feb 2017 16:58:09
Waghorn was refreshing to watch today running at defenders and showing interest in getting forword.

Dave king confirms warburton wanted to use rangers as a stepping stone to work for EPL teams in the future.

Wes1

1.) 11 Feb 2017 17:23:36
Dnothing unusual there all the English players in the team are the same and a whole load of past players did the same the only people that are loyal are us guys the rest it's all about the money!

2.) 11 Feb 2017 17:35:52
Nothing wrong with that, EPL is place to be for top pros! But imo he showed a lack of respect towards our club if what king says is true regarding the way they 'resigned' and imo he hasn't been happy for months and it filtered onto the pitch as the team looked to have as much commitment as he did in the end! let's look forward, starting with morton who will be right up for it! let's get a performance put in and advance to next round! Mr warburton u just didn't have the character for the job!

3.) 11 Feb 2017 17:40:14
Yeah like every other ambitious manager he wants a go at the EPL. Does anybody think Rodgers isn't using Celtic to do the same thing?

And can anybody explain to me if King was so annoyed at Warbs claiming he was using Rangers as a stepping stone, why did he agree to renew his contract until 2019 and increase his salary?

And if Warb's contract was immediately terminated on Monday why wasn't he asked to clear his desk but instead allowed him to hold a press conference on Friday?

Something very fishy about King's statement.

4.) 11 Feb 2017 18:07:23
Spot on Naz, if only more people would think like you then maybe the right people would be in place. To many flaws in his statement.

5.) 11 Feb 2017 18:40:17
Naz, interesting take on the statement! How can you see such negativity in the positives that he outlined?

I didn't interpretate his comments about stepping stone to the EPL as being negative, just stating the facts

6.) 11 Feb 2017 18:59:45
His contract was not terminated at that point by the club, he asked them to accept his resignation with no financial compensation to be paid to any club he may be asked to join. Rangers have accepted.

7.) 11 Feb 2017 19:02:40
BR65, How in hell do you see the statement as being positive? And as Naz says, why was their contracts not terminated on Monday? Then a statement made ------ honesty and transparency might be a foreign language to DK, but that is what is necessary for us to move forward.

8.) 11 Feb 2017 19:13:57
the agent had a meeting on Monday with one of the directors to ask for his clients to be released from their contracts with no compensation one director can not agree to this so no answer was given a boardroom meeting was arranged for Fri on the Thursday the agent again asked for a meeting saying they wanted to stay on till end of season but still leave in summer or when a club was found with no compensation being paid board met fri night decided to accept original offer of resignation I'm with them no probs with them using club as a stepping stone but not thinking they can do as they please if you ask to be realeased then that's it it's not as though they were doing well so onwards we go but the board must get this right

9.) 11 Feb 2017 19:28:43
Personally I believe that Rangers would be a better Club if we had someone other than King at the helm. Ideally a respected UK Businessman like Kennedy or one of the many 'closet wealthy Rangers fans'.

Whoever comes in, if they are a quality coach then they will want to compete with Celtic and they will demand a serious transfer kitty to bring in three or four quality players in key positions.

Call me a Cynic but we only hear from King when it is season ticket sales or there is a mini crisis and it is always the same bullwhip about investing more, tomorrow. While the Three Bears and the Far East guys have invested, from what I can see, King has kept his cash in his pocket!

10.) 11 Feb 2017 20:21:22
Billyb, seems like we're never going to agree!

I thinks the statement was a clear and considered update on MW's departure, the boards view on our progress, finance and the way forward.

He admitted that we are behind the curve compared to the plan and has stated that they intend to remedy that even if they have to invest more that they had originally envisaged.

He did not tell us who the next manager would be, what is happening with MA, the Easdales or any other potential investors but did explain the for various reasons some information had to be kept confidential.

Overall, a positive note for me

11.) 11 Feb 2017 21:01:14
I think a director of football will be appointed as king has spoke about that in the past, I would like to see someone like Mcleish in that role but not as manager. Personally I think he's had his day.

12.) 11 Feb 2017 21:35:27
Think it's time we all stopped the arguing and get get behind the team. I always stuck up for mw but I feel as if I've been duped after hearing he met up for talks with another club. Davie weir is a let down as well . Let's hope the board get the best man they can afford and we can get back to cheering on the most successful club in the world.

13.) 11 Feb 2017 22:10:06
BR65, your second paragraph sums up why we disagree. Total pie in the sky. There is no doubt we are both bluenoses, so let us allow time to take its course, and I totally believe your loyalty will be let down. Being cynical has its benefits.

14.) 12 Feb 2017 19:17:14
Really hope legal advice was sought and followed throughout and that accounts for some of the delay. Like all statements there is an element of spin in this one. Major step forward though and the board deserve our support for decisive action.
