Are alarm bells not ringing loudly at the moment. The new CE cannot raise any finance from the city to fund the club which as everyone knows is losing money at an alarming rate. There is still 4 months of the season left and the likelihood of the club making it to the end of the season is becoming very faint. People talk about a 25 point deduction if it is administration but Livingston were put into the bottom tier of Scottish Football for going into Admin twice in a short period. One other thing that has been highlighted from the AGM and seems to have been missed in the accounts is the entry for Contingent Liabilities. Now no one knows if this is for £1 or £20 million so this will explain why the club cannot raise any money. VERY WORRYING TIMES INDEED. If Ally and his staff worked for free for the rest of the season then that would save the club in the region of £1million+, surely a legend who has already been paid half a million this year would do this for the club he loves. or would he! The players aren't taking a cut so where are the savings coming from, especially the level of savings that are required NOW, need big money earners off the books but cannot afford redundancy payments, very vicious circle. VERY WORRYING TIMES INDEED.

1.) Either club overspent thinking they would be fast tracked into prem, or forcing the club into admin on purpose to gain ownership. There seems to be a reason. Were they hoping to enter spfl with no debt,
What's your opinion ed?

2.) The contingent liability was mentioned in the accounts but the amount unspecified. There is no evidence the fund raising has anything to do with this season, if there were a shortfall next year this would be a good time to find out what is available. If the contingent liability is affecting any loan then it is up to the shareholders to agree to a dilution or agree to pay CW compensation.
I do not accept gossip as proof Rangers have no money and are nearing administration.

3.) N3. This is not gossip it is listed in the club accounts. There can be no contingency built in for this as the level of claim against the club has not yet been detailed hence the reason that this is a black mark against any potential investment. Why would the fund raising not have anything to do with this season, is it not this season that the players are being asked to take a wage cut, is it not this season that the CE has said that the club is living way beyond its means. again not gossip. Your comments are very flawed and your reluctance to accept how bad things are just strikes me as the same way everyone ignored all the previous warnings. In terms of a shortfall for next year, I would be more concerned about actually getting to next year, the club doesn't have enough money and if you are too daft to understand that then more fool you.

Are you having a laugh. Are they going to be asked to take a 15% wage cut before they sign or will it be written into the contract that after 6 months the club reserve the right to cut your wages to suit the next financial crisis. I would be more concerned about keeping what you have and not going down the road of the old club.

This is where McCoist is just like Smith, neither of them capable of bringing through young players. The club is in dire financial straits and yet McCoist is still looking at bringing in second rate journeymen to try and win the championship, seems to be a real waste of Murray Park doesn't it.

Experience in talent spotting a young footballer with potential? experience in coaching? ANy experience other than being a player and that certainly does not make you capable of spotting a player.

Hot off the Press. Gazza on his way back as well as Rangers build for the future. Is this for real, you are a gazillion points ahead in the league and you are bringing these 2 chancers back, tell you what your manager is certainly one for giving the youth a chance, just like his mentor.

A few decent points in the last post KT. Hearts is a good model for Ranegrs to follow. A young maanger with an experienced "COACH" above him to help him through the tough times. Hearts put Craig Levein in charge of the whole football program and he is doing it brilliantly. Every week he is there watching the kids train, he is there at the weekend watching them play, he talks to the kids, he talks to the young coaches they have in place and the atmosphere around Riccarton is fun and intense. At the acadmeny the 1st team amanger , his deputies, in fact all the coahcing staff are regularly out with the kids, giving them tips, praising them, highlighting ways to do things better and they were prepared to spend 2 years in the Championship to get it right. Rangers need a structure in place. A manager with clear ideas, a head of football operations who understands how academies work, how to set an ethos throught he whole club. are the fans willing to potentially spend another 2 years in the Championship to get it right, that is the big question. And as far as one horse races go, really. you took a team full of SPL players to the 3rd division, 2nd highest wage bill in the country, players on loan from the EPL and you couldn't win a league that should have been a canter at worst.

Good post. Rangers now have a 2nd chance to rebuild. When Supa Ally was winning titles nobody cared that they were getting knocke dout of cups by lttle teams or losing cup finals to little teasm becasue the targte was the top league. Over the last 3 years attendances have dwindled becasue the product on the park has been very poor and it has been highlighted further when they met Dundee Utd, Celtic and Motherwell.

Will Rangers have a squad capable of winning the league next year, weel they have about 6 weeks to get a manager, backroom team and a whole new raft of players meanwhile at Hibs they are already prepared and now adding the wee bits and pieces they think they need. St Mirren have a good young squad and they will be decent next year, plus they have a good young manager in place. QOS have added some more quality to their squad and Falkirk will eb better again next year so already the clock is ticking. Is McCall the man, well he brought in a lot of players at Motherwell for next to nothing and moulded them into a good team 2 years running, this season it didn't quite work but is he worth a chance? Problem is, Rangers aren't in a position to take chances, they need proven and they need it now, right now. Time for the Rangers men in the blue room to come out of their bunker and tot tellt he fans how they are going to sort this, the days of blaming everyone else are now gone, this is their time. tick tock

Think you need to remember where you finished in a very poor Championship and then to be battered by the 11th placed team in the big league. As you say not too far ahead, but here is one for you, Rangers conceded more goals since McCall came in than Celtic conceded in a double winning season. In all fairness you will come back stronger, couldn't be any weaker really, but will the stronger Rangers be good enough to beat Hibs, St Mirren, Falkirk, QOS next season? Good luck with the rebuild and thanks for not coming to the big league to take away all our trophies.

So, ma is a billionaire ( a real one) and you think that the contracts he will have drawn up will not be watertight. This isn't written on the back of a fag packet stuff, this is aguy who knows he can make money out of nothing and he is right. The only way out of this is to either buy him off or to try and renegotiate a longer term of the contract with a slightly better return in the clubs favour but that ties the money up even longer. In terms of getting knocked out of Europe. can't believe you have the brass neck to laugh at us gettting knocked out of Europe considering the fact that is you had managed to win a game at the beginning of this debacle then you may not have gone bust. A lot of very dark times to come over the next 4-5 years for Rangers fans, I feel. Promotion this year definetely not a certainty. Hibs and Hearts are the form teams in the league and QOS and Falkirk will both fancy their chances against Rangers ina one off cup tie, especially knowing the penchant for bottling it that Rangers have. Assuming you get past one of them then you have to play Hibs, not going to be easy irrespectiv eof who is on the boardrom or dugout. The problem is the players simply are not good enough, and they cannot cope with the other teams in the league not lying down to them. Another year in the championship beckons, but at least you will be able to rid yourselves of a lot of the dross at the end of the season, but will there be any money for players??

Never a poor bookie and hardly surprising if you actually thought Rangers were going to win. Jeez, you have bene on here for months moaning about how bad they are and all of am sudden they were going to become the best team in Scotland!
