Daily rebel saying rangers are looking at former porto midfielder ruben micael played for porto, a madrid, braga and was playing in chinese league but his team got relegated so he's looking for a move back to europe.
1.) 04 Dec 2016 19:43:24
2004–2008 União Madeira 94 (5)
2008–2010 Nacional 42 (6)
2010–2011 Porto 30 (0)
2011–2013 Atlético Madrid 0 (0)
2011–2012 → Zaragoza (loan) 33 (0)
2012–2013 → Braga (loan) 19 (4)
2013–2015 Braga 46 (7)
2015– Shijiazhuang Ever Bright 38 (4
Hardly a dynamic goalscoring midfielder.
2.) 06 Dec 2016 12:06:57
You would have said the same about kranjcar, but as always you know best punchatim, why don't you let the people in charge make the decisions and you go back to doing what ever it is you are supposed to be.
19 Aug 2016 16:09:54
Joe garner agrees 3 yr deal.
1.) 19 Aug 2016 16:53:34
How do you know this, is it common knowledge now? SSN, BBC, STV?
2.) 19 Aug 2016 17:09:12
Could have saved a fortune and just kept Nicky Clark.
Both proven goal scorers until they stepped up in class and as such just an empty jersey.
Mark my words, this guy is a waste of money.
3.) 19 Aug 2016 17:31:35
Difference is Nicky Clark was a proven goal score in a diddy league Garner was not.
4.) 19 Aug 2016 17:32:26
What a insane statement.
5.) 19 Aug 2016 18:05:28
We will see who's a waste of money gusman.
6.) 19 Aug 2016 18:17:16
Gosman u need to stay off the Class a's mate. Why would a rangers fan? be so down on any player WHO has decided to come and play for the worlds most succesful club. hell score a barrowload up here. MARK MY WORDS.
7.) 19 Aug 2016 18:28:46
8.) 19 Aug 2016 19:06:55
Nicky Clark? Sombodys got ther weekend off to a flier lol.
9.) 19 Aug 2016 19:26:22
Nicky Clark had 2 stints at Rangers and failed miserably and I really thought he would gave set the Heather on fire in the lower divisions!
10.) 19 Aug 2016 20:46:30
You guys just made my point on nicky Clark.
An empty jersey when asked to step up.
Garner is and has been proved to be the same.
He can score in 1st division but when he plays in the championship he is a dud if you look at his goal to game ratio.
I have followed the Gers for over 50 years through thick and thin, home and abroad even when we have had a bad team.
However i can make my own mind up on someones ability and worth and this guy is not the answer. Especially at upwards of £1.5m.
11.) 19 Aug 2016 20:52:36
Here, here Laudrup 86,I just can't understand the negative slant some of our supporters come out with when they should wait to see in this case joe garner playing for us! Very confident garner will be a very good signing for us and imo WILL bang in the goals for us, from what I've seen of garner he reminds me of gary hooper the way he finishes although he's much better in the air than hooper was when he played for them! What do all other fellow bears think regarding this and who does garner remind you of?
12.) 19 Aug 2016 21:06:55
Gosman league 1 is a step up in class from spfl.
I remember a Wee ugly striker that plays in the east that couldn't get a game in league 1 not to long ago bang in 40goals last year. FACT
You my friend are clueless.
13.) 19 Aug 2016 21:15:28
In case some of you haven't looked at his stats.
In the last 5 seasons, garner has played league 1 and championship.
League 1 approx 100 games and about 50 goals which is very good and is obviously his level.
Step up to championship and in 65 games he scores just 7
I hope our future won't depend on him being our main goal scorer that's for sure.
14.) 19 Aug 2016 19:23:28
Go Joe, excited by this signing.
15.) 19 Aug 2016 21:53:07
Gosman, you're setting yourself up here for a mighty fall, garner will be terrific for us in the scottish premiership my friend, mark my words, I've seen quite a bit of garner and he scores all kinds of goals, this guy can finish and will be a brilliant signing for us, even if you don't think he'll be good for us would it not be better as a bear to get right behind the guy and wait and see before mouthing off, I truly believe you'll have a big fat goose egg all over your face before the end of the season mate!
16.) 19 Aug 2016 23:18:50
Warbs, i would be happy to be proved wrong as i only want the best for my team but in this case i don't think i will.
Strange how many bears seem to have seen this guy do the business. ? lol
Remind me again, how many goals did this guy score in the whole of last season?
17.) 20 Aug 2016 00:19:50
He led the line in a defensive system as a lone striker and fought every inch. Why do you think the P. N. E fans are gutted he's leaving? i watch english football its on every weekend :) .
18.) 20 Aug 2016 07:59:52
Gosman your logic is nonsense look at waghorn hardly scored at all plsyin for wigan his ratio was appalling comes up here and blooters defenses scores a shitload garner will do the same.
19.) 20 Aug 2016 08:49:38
Waghorn is your benchmark? pmsl
You seem to forget half his goals were penalties against piss poor teams so hardly "blootering" defenses.
He was once a £3 million player that we picked up for nothing so still good business.
With garner we are paying more for him than the total we have spent on the rest of our team.
20.) 20 Aug 2016 21:57:54
Been following this site for months and it's my first post. Can't believe the negativity with some people. Give people a chance and let them prove themselves when they pull on the blue jersey. Mr Warburton and McPartland haven't made many mistakes so far as far as signings go. I'm sure Garner will pose a threat to most SPL teams.
15 Aug 2016 11:38:46
Rangers submit offer for joe garner preston manager saying he's going to speak to player to see what he wants to do.
1.) 15 Aug 2016 11:54:44
6 goals in 43 matches last season. Doesn't sound like the answer.
Not impressed by this and flop senderos.
2.) 15 Aug 2016 12:04:12
Example. the thumb couldn't cut it at Wolves now scores for fun for them. #inwarbswetrust.
3.) 15 Aug 2016 12:05:33
Agreed mr nice, If championship/ top league one striker is our price range then there's definitely a better option out there imo but at the end of the day all back whoever the magic hat brings in
In Warbs We Trust!
4.) 15 Aug 2016 12:11:16
Watched garner as I stay in Preston . when not watching rangers I watch them. his strike partner was injured most of last season who I think he missed. he scored 25 goals year before. he's a bit like Naismith think he would do well if we sign him . gets stuck in never gives up.
5.) 15 Aug 2016 12:23:47
Did Andy little tell u he is like Naismith or did u come up with the comparison yourself? Not trying to be wide, just a coincidence.
6.) 15 Aug 2016 12:40:50
Andy Halliday - avg 3 goals per season since 2010
Scored 10 in 48 for us last season
Martyn Waghorn - avg 4 goals per season since 2010
Scored 28 in 36 for us last season
James Taverner - has scored 5 goals since 2010
Scored 15 in 50 for us last season
Joe Garner - avg 12 goals per season since 2010 and 25+ goals in 13/ 14 and 14/ 15 seasons. If you believe he is no the answer then you are indefinitely looking for a multi millions pound striker which is out of our reach. He would be more than capable.
7.) 15 Aug 2016 12:40:54
I like how people are only focusing on last seasons performance for him. not the 27 goals the season before or the 24 the season before that.
8.) 15 Aug 2016 12:46:42
Nobody tells me what to say pal . never knew he voiced an opinion, stayed in Preston 28 years my lad plays for under 13,s . gave an opinion as this is a rumour site if he wasn't good enough I'd say . i think he is.
9.) 15 Aug 2016 12:56:06
Can we not let the guy sign and get out on the pitch before we slate him. at least wait til he's played a few games before we write him off. i can still remember striker called Ally something getting told to "get tae f@£k@" and i think he went on to score a few goals.
10.) 15 Aug 2016 13:05:44
Warbs always mentions the point about adding value on/ off the pitch - he's obviously seen something in Joe Garner that he feels merits a potential £1 million outlay.
Apart fae Gostomski it must be agreed that in terms of transfers, Warbs, DW and McParland haven't done too bad.
11.) 15 Aug 2016 15:02:36
Garner will score goals, OK so he didn't score loads last season but the previous 2 season he scored shed loads, he also scores an array of different types of goals, will b a good signing.
U will never please the doom and gloom merchants tho.
12.) 15 Aug 2016 17:12:33
My word. Watch Garner play before making judgements. There's this handy thing called YouTube, you might have heard of it. Watch some Garner videos. The boy oozes talent and class. Get him in a Rangers jersey asap please.
13.) 15 Aug 2016 17:16:19
Looking at the video posted on DR the guy has a head for goal and boy could we be doing with someone we could flight the ball into instead of constantly trying to thread it through the eye of a needle. Something different and needed.
14.) 15 Aug 2016 17:35:55
Bilbo what is this YouTube you speak of? The amount of valuable information on this site continues to leave me in a state of shock and awe. Any player can look good in a highlights reel.
Teddy- I can see your point but many rangers fans are saying the three player's you mention aren't good enough (not me by my he way) . What I would say is these player's are younger and have more time to develop, whereas garner is approaching 29 and is what he is. I don't debate he done well in league 1 but he hasn't performed well at a higher level throughout his career.
At end of day our problem isn't the amount of money rather the extremely narrow talent pool we are limiting ourselves to.
We should have been concentrating on foreign markets and the lower leagues of Italy, Spain and Germany- where transfer fees are far more realistic. Instead we are looking for bargains in a market we can't afford.
15.) 16 Aug 2016 10:15:56
Mr Nice, there are a few videos. Why don't you have a look. There's a little box at the top of the site that says 'Search'. Try and stick his name in there and see what happens. These are no so much "highlights" videos, they're videos of Garner banging them in left right and centre. One includes the best goal I've ever seen. The boy the score and wants to play for Rangers. He had me at Hello Hello.
P. S You're Welcome.
04 Aug 2016 19:30:38
@andynewportPA on twitter On PA wires: Rangers could ditch controversial Puma strip released without their consent and replace it with a new kit midway through season. club supposedly looking into an SPFL rule that clubs can change strip midway through season .
1.) 04 Aug 2016 21:42:53
I'm sure fat Mike has something to do with them?
2.) 04 Aug 2016 22:01:18
Bigtrfc, I posted on here several weeks ago that rangers were in advanced negotiations with under armour to replace puma as our new kit manufacturers, under armour tonight blundered and actually tweeted when asked about becoming rangers new kit makers, that the new rangers kit is coming soon and to watch this space, its now looking very likely that we'll be changing our kits and manufacturers in the middle of the season once we find out and get the go ahead from the scottish governing body to do it, it looks increasing likely that under armour have secured rangers to now make our kits.
3.) 05 Aug 2016 00:17:04
I hope this is true. I know Tottenham have sponsorship with them. maybe warns put a word in. i know that not anything to do with him but hope it true. and we get decent profits on the kits.
4.) 05 Aug 2016 08:08:24
They then retracted the statement and said its was a "negative". Could be a blunder.
Again though we'd breach the retail agreement, someone correctly pointed out on twitter that Chelsea done this quite some time ago and this resulted in them losing a legal battle and quite some money.
To be fair Ashley is breaching it by selling unlicenced goods, but its upto the lawyers to point this out. There has to be something in the pipeline.
5.) 05 Aug 2016 13:06:52
I don't think the courts like Ashley or the way he conducts his business and could favour for us in a court case!
that being said we now have to be carefull as he likes to go to court the fat rat!
does anyone know if the contract stipulates that his franchise must be able to sell a certain amount or we could terminate the deal and/ or if that's the loophole in the spfl rules that state if retail transaction fall well short of what is expected then we can change our strips?
6.) 05 Aug 2016 15:57:14
Blunder by under armour or "early" marketing to gazing
7.) 05 Aug 2016 16:13:10
Saw this too. I heard the under armour rumour a while ago never thought much of it but seeing as they have tweeted they will start selling Rangers kits soon its safe to say king will never be beaten. No Surrender!
8.) 06 Aug 2016 13:15:20
I thought SD could nt use our logo after previous court case?
19 Jul 2016 12:35:51
Tav signs new contract.
1.) 19 Jul 2016 12:42:00
Just saw that there on the Sky website. Good, that puts that to bed. Anyone commiting his and Waggys commitment was really jumping the gun anyway.
2.) 19 Jul 2016 17:16:12
Foderingham, Kiernan also sign extensions and SSN confirming that Dodoo has signed for 4 years!
Great to the the mighty Rangers dominating SSN for the right reasons! I hope son Seltic fans are sitting up and taking notice!
3.) 19 Jul 2016 17:41:39
Nothing about Tavs on official site yet.
4.) 19 Jul 2016 18:06:01
Great business by the Gers today. dodoo 4 yr deal tav Wes and Rob (not so sure about him tbh) signing extensions. Anyone know how much tav extended by? Can't see confirmation. I genuinely believe our best signing to date is FRANK MCP. He is instrumental in getting us quality signings without breaking the bank. the joys of having a pro scouting department again. We r on the up and up bears. B happy. FOR WE R THE RANGERS.
09 Feb 2017 21:21:29
The big issue for warburton for me is not the players he's brought in these guys are not bad players, ok they are not world beaters but they are decent its a bad system in my view, its warburtons stubborness to continue playing the same way week in week out, teams know how to play against rangers now, its no coincedence that our 2 best performances this season hearts and aberdeen at ibrox we mixed it up and went long . can't see warburton shifting from a 4.3.3 and that will be his downfall i reckon, we need to fit a system round the players not players round a system.
1.) 10 Feb 2017 08:42:56
I also think the system doesn't suit us, you just have to look at our record this year; won 12 out of 24 games, 1 in last 5 goals difference 6 after 24 games. we play out from the back teams press up against us, full backs high up the pitch.
we lose possession in midfield then centre backs under pressure the players we have are not good enough for the system. if we win the ball high up the park there is often no one in the box, so the game is slowed down. we need to find a system that suits us.
Garner is winning the ball in the air 20-30 yards out but no one with him. I'm not asking for our manager to be sacked, but our record this season is not good enough. he can throw all sorts of statistics at us he wants, but the ones that I see are third in league 27 points behind Celtic and couldn't buy a goal.
so why not at least try something different. why not go 2 up why not go long mix it up. we are too predictable look at goal. on Saturday, Wallace is caught up the park looses possession, ball played in behind him - goal. this happens game after game.
I've been going to Ibrox for well over thirty years as a season ticket holder, but I'm sorry to say this, but this is the most boring football I've seen. you pay to see penalty box action and goals, but I ask you all when is the last time you left Ibrox and said to yourself "that was a cracking game of football "?
it's last minute winners or equaliser and a ninety minute struggle. it's ok having 70-80% of possession, but unless you use it, it counts for nothing.
so MW let's try something different, mix it up. there is no shame in it. let's get the crowd up off there seats, get them excited. then you may win the fans back again. I for one hope so.
23 Jan 2017 15:42:53
Was at the youth cup game at ibrox and a few boys impressed me young lad josh jeffries was excellent as was myles beerman but billy gilmour was a stand out the boy is different class let's hope he stays at rangers to develop his career.
1.) 23 Jan 2017 16:12:47
As I said we have some really good under 17s coming through the club.
2.) 23 Jan 2017 19:43:35
The most impressive thing was that every single player in the team was under the under 20s limit.
29 Dec 2016 16:56:42
While i applaude joe garner for his work ethic he needs to start adding goals to his game otherwise he should be dropped in my opinion . we cannot afford to keep not taking our chances and we don't have a proven goslscorer upfront . its ok jumping up for headers, roughing up defenders but at end of the day he's in there to score goals and he's not doing it . a goalscorer is a must in january for chance of european football next season.
1.) 29 Dec 2016 17:27:35
A would have waghorn on through the middle all day long and also MOH too warburton playing him out of position.
2.) 29 Dec 2016 17:29:08
3.) 29 Dec 2016 17:43:09
Garner is great at what he does but he needs a poacher to play of him as a partnership! But then again warbs won't play that system!
4.) 29 Dec 2016 20:18:03
He would be ok in front of goal, but we do not play with an out and out centre forward. That's why he gets caught out of position at edge of box.
Feed him he will score.
5.) 29 Dec 2016 21:09:47
Garner just runs about barging people no quality and not a goal scorer however if that makes him an idol in some fans eyes then so be it I would rather idolize a player who could actually score.
6.) 30 Dec 2016 10:30:40
Let's see how Warburton changes things for tomorrow. Personally I would have both MOH and Waghorn in the team and I would probably play Miller in midfield. Since I can't see Wallace being fit for the game I would suggest that the defence picks itself such is our shortage of numbers.
7.) 30 Dec 2016 13:14:31
well when i saw garners goals on you tube, i thought we've got a good player here, but it must have been poor opposition because he hasn't re produced the same form since he has came to gers.
23 Nov 2016 15:11:06
Does anyone feel that tom walsh and ryan hardie would benefit from a loan move somewhere other than st mirren . they hardly get any game time and st mirren pumped every week is hardly doing anything for the lads development surely rangers should recall them in jan and try get them a better loan move.
1.) 23 Nov 2016 15:37:43
Understand where you are coming from, but the question that has to be asked is that if they are not good enough for to get in St mirrens first team then they are not good enough to make the grade for us.
2.) 23 Nov 2016 20:43:55
Yeah it's concerning that neither have done particularly well for the current worst team in the championship. Had high hopes Hardie could make it at Rangers but think Walsh will be yet another youngster full of promise that ends up being released.
21 Sep 2016 14:55:08
Absolutely disgusting article in herald this morning regarding joey barton who may be able to point to the Ian Black situation where another player was found to have breached the SFA gambling regulations and did not have his contract terminated.
1.) 21 Sep 2016 15:53:18
I have not read the article, so was wondering why it was disgusting?
2.) 21 Sep 2016 19:31:04
Yes, please explain. Is it because it doesn't add to the witch hunt?
I pointed out yesterday that both black and simmonsen both were found guilty of the offence and not sacked.
Barton is Barton. I said at time it was a mistake to sign him and got the usual Warburton is God comments telling me I was negative and not a rangers fan etc etc.
But for me the 'disgusting' thing is the leaking of this story and the pathetic witch hunt that has followed. Warburton has not handled this even close to properly.
I hate Chris Sutton (and much of his winging is over the top) but he does have a point with his criticism- that's why Mr faultless has snapped back. Because he can't handle criticism (hence overreacting to Barton and Sutton) and its all a bit close to the bone.
3.) 22 Sep 2016 12:03:56
Basically the same team, don't think so.
4.) 22 Sep 2016 16:16:18
got to ask honest ger how has he overeacted to all of this?
barton had a loud argument with the manager infront of the rest of the team okay back in the day souness would have battered him and kept it behind closed doors but the media aren't daft and eventually want information as to why barton wasn't on the team sheet .
the manager had to say something after barton the loudmouth came out and spoke about it in public and was on radio and such without the clubs permission.
that for me is enough to suspend a player that hasn't really added anything to the team.
and as for Sutton he just said he has no respect for the guy but c'mon even the celtic fans don't have any respect for him
25 Jan 2017 21:47:16
£2000 a month is decent for a 16 yr old and if he proves himself he will get a better deal and get his big move later down the line . he's not going to get games at chelsea and probably get loaned out from club to club if all he's interested in at his stage of his career is money then rangers are better off without him.
23 Jan 2017 14:22:38
Not exactly value for money is he we need players with a sell on value
21 Nov 2016 22:06:17
Would that be the same harry winks who played and scored for spurs against west ham?
10 Nov 2016 13:41:54
Well red bull does give you wings.
21 Aug 2016 11:07:26
If that's the case then is he the type of player we want to be linked with .
04 Feb 2017 23:13:31
Obviously 3rd and the scot cup
01 Feb 2017 19:08:17
We already have an over the hill CB in senderos who is not good enough we don't need another
31 Jan 2017 12:05:39
Our club was a shambles before warburton came in junior sides were run better than us he had to build the club back up from the ground . no way were we going to challenge celtic in our 1st season back in SPL . more importantly i would rather we consentrate on getting rid of ashley before worrying about that mob
29 Jan 2017 18:26:30
Have you seen the size of him he's tiny he looks like an 11 yr old no way is he ready for 1st team football,
29 Jan 2017 18:24:56
He can't play for the first team until he is 16 he hasn't got a proffesional contract.
