when the dust has settled and we have a new manager on board, I think we should go down the Souness route, i. e. start with a solid defence, Provided we have funds available, i would go for

Mcgregor
Paterson
Davis
Caulker
Malumbu

Time to start winning. All these guys are winners, they may not all be in the flush of youth but they will do for me. Thoughts!

Your definition of a winner is completely dif to mine.

Ex players aside what have Patterson, caulker and malumbu won of any note in their careers?

2.) 19 Apr 2018 19:20:49
We would be better try to get the Hearts keeper rather than McGregor

3.) 19 Apr 2018 21:04:31
When a new manager comes in he should look at getting caulker an malumbu and rather than go for davies they should have a look at this young lad hamidou traore has been attracting intrest from other clubs could be one with sell on potenial and looks a decent player 21 yeor old and rated at 405k on transfer market plays for karabukspor in turkey

4.) 19 Apr 2018 21:30:39
All you guys who are reporting this one and that one as being our next manager are talking total rubbish. I don't believe for one moment that our board have approached anyone yet. Why would they have. They gave (wrongly I might add) the job to the end of the season. They will only start looking in the next couple of weeks. Had we beaten celtic they would have looked at the situation after the cup final. Murty should never have been given the gig. We all know this. And some of us knew that from day one. We all need to catch a grip. I've listened to all these so called fans ( not supporters) who won't be renewing their season tickets. Well guess what don't. I've sat in the same seat for 33 years been watching rangers since I was 5. 50 years ago. All I can say is if you don't want to go then don't. The dark side are loving all this fighting. Guys we have been on a life support machine in a coma and regardless of what Sutton Petrov hartson say we are getting gradually stronger and stronger we are now off the life support machine and out of bed and walking around the hospital ward. Guys we will get there in the next couple of years and trust me the smile will be wiped off suttons (1 win in 14 games as a mangers) face and all the rest of them. It's not that long ago they were running around with Wayne bigains Ian Andrews etc they have short memories guy. Stick by the team guys. Good times are around the corner

5.) 19 Apr 2018 21:49:58
I'd take them all to be honest. Our players are dire. No heart. Broke me watching such pathetic performance then dummy throwing competition afterwards. Disgusted with club top to bottom.

6.) 20 Apr 2018 00:59:59
Billy Bluebell if Rangers have not approached anyone yet then they should have. Qualification for Europa start end of June. Season ends May. That gives a manager 6 or 7 weeks maybe to put a squad together. Manager should be in place now. Looks like another season with no European participation from where I sit?

7.) 20 Apr 2018 08:27:05
Wtf is it with all the dark side getting air time to talk about us?

Brenda, Lennon, Sutton, hartson, petrov. your opinion means nothing.

Time for us to do our talking on the pitch. Long overdue.

i for one am pleased with peds tranfers and targets to date, albeit I`ve not heard of most of them but most are internationalists, compared to warbs recruits, glad he has money backing from board. I am quietly confident he will get it right, first and foremost we need a winning team on the park. I would forget about the young boys for the moment, give them game time if we are winning comfortly I don`t think any of our young players are exceptional, it might sound harsh, but Aird, Walsh, Wylde etc. to name a few were good but not great, so well done pedro, 10/ 10 for the board also.

talk of getting rid of tav I think is premature of all the team playing this season he was one of the few that tried to make things happen by taking on a man, not like others who froze and passed the buck. If he was deployed in right midfield with an established full back behind him I think we would reap the benefit. He would need to brush up on his putrid free kicks and crosses. I would keep him.

blue bear

1.) 06 May 2017 10:40:26
Like you blue bear Tav would not be top of my list to get shut of . I would keep him like you say but only to be played RM or for squad cover. He may be offloaded though as someone who's more likely to get a bit of money. Although he is criticised by many I would also keep Hodson. They say he is not"Rangers class" but if we end up having to keep some of the squad rather a decent defensive minded full back who played well against Celtic at Park head and has put on good displays for his country against the likes of Germany than some of the hopeless chances like Kiernan, Halliday, Forrester and MOH to name but a few.

2.) 06 May 2017 11:32:04
Agree with you Liverpool Ger about hodson much better defender than tav.

3.) 06 May 2017 12:26:58
I keep reading posts on here that this player or that player ain't the standard we need. No matter who wears the hallowed top I can guarantee there will be someone who will pipe up and say that exact line, they ain't Gers standard. No matter who Pedro posts they should be given 100% by us the fans.

4.) 06 May 2017 14:13:56
The sad fact of life though, bluster 69, is that the vast majority of this current bunch don't even come close to being good enough, and not just because of their football ability. They lack passion and respect fro the jersey and the one I would single out sadly is Halliday since he, as a so called Rangers fan, has been a major let down!

5.) 06 May 2017 14:07:24
Hodson is a steady Eddie type of player imo and every team needs players like this. I agree with my Scouser friend. He has performed well in international games. How he isn't an automatic choice for us in this league is beyond me

6.) 06 May 2017 14:35:53
Tavs is one i'd definitely keep. next year when we go to tough venues like Piggery, Pittodrie etc and we need to set up a bit more defence minded, i think Tavs made for that right mid slot with a good fullback behind him.

7.) 06 May 2017 16:31:01
Agree with you guys about keeping both tav and hodson, tav obviously being the better of the two as every manager we've had this season consitently pick him! hodson a decent player. Would say outside of celtic and aberdeen can't really think of a rb in the league who's better. (who knows how paterson at hearts will be after his injury. )

04 May 2017 06:27:52
All these potential signing targets being mentioned by our fans, it is still a gamble whether they can hack it playing for Rangers. Two examples THEO SNELDERS and ANDY WEBSTER good players but total disasters on the park.
Better going for tried and tested former players like Naismith, Lafferty in present financial situation.

blue bear

1.) 04 May 2017 08:50:33
@bluebear - in the present financial situation can we therefore afford to pay these players £10 - 15k a week?

2.) 04 May 2017 08:55:53
Dont know bout Naismith, he really stuck the knife in when he left, think hardie should get His chance this year, surely he's got to be better than garner

3.) 04 May 2017 19:00:28
Your correct Blue Bear maybe we should have went with a tried and trusted Manager instead of Pedro because as time goes by we all no he's not going to last!

4.) 04 May 2017 19:36:34
Andy Webster was a very good defender but was injury prone. Theo snelders was there the same time as arguably our 2 greatest keepers goram and klos so probably not the best examples! Michael mols wasn't a house hold name when we bought him but what a player. Only for injury would of been 1 of our best ever players.

5.) 05 May 2017 08:38:13
Hooly

Webster didn't have the bottle to play for Rangers

02 May 2017 15:16:39
does anyone know what`s happened to Scott Allan, I always liked him as a player forby that fiasco at Hibs, I would take him. Thoughts!

blue bear

1.) 02 May 2017 15:25:24
You havin a laugh he made his bed he can lie in it . don't want him anywhere near rangers besides we already have average midfielders we don't need another

2.) 02 May 2017 15:41:49
No chance. there's no way back for him. Brought up a Rangers fan and given the choice between us and Celtic. Chose Celtic. Lie in the bed youve made. A career spent in mediocrity.

3.) 02 May 2017 15:42:07
He chose money instead of his alleged boyhood team and is now a bench warmer on loan at Rotherham where he has appeared 10 times.

4.) 02 May 2017 17:00:07
I'm all for giving people a second chance but this is a big NO from me.
I don't fancy the additional slagging on top of recent events by signing someone who can't get into the Rotherham team or near their team

5.) 02 May 2017 20:18:03
Sorry who?

6.) 03 May 2017 09:26:11
I couldn't care less what happened to him. this stage. same scott allan who denied he was a rangers supporter.

We need winners in the team and who are familiar with SPL, I would sign Halkett, Naisy and Power. Not short of effort, too m
any lightweights in side.

Does anyone remember DiCannio making snap you like a twig gesture to Ian Ferguson. Was anything done about it at the time? No.

Think Greg Stewart would be a good shout in jan. win.
Creative left footed playmaker chips in with goals, would`nt cost the earth and bluenose to boot.
