For me I'm not his biggest fan doesn't go by defenders as much I like. to see, he tends to run at them stop do a sand dance before deciding what to do a tends to lose the ball a lot or he'll run at them cut inside and pass 5 yards were as you were saying O, Halloran was taking then on and bulling his way through them, he's also a bit light weight doesn't score enough either, but he's what we've got and better than last years rejects!

Agreed, needs replaced next season. Fails to beat man far too often and final ball is poor. Hope I'm wrong and he develops. To be honest only tav, wag, ohal, holt, wallace and possibly fod should be near team next season. Maybe big kiernan but jury is still out. The rest need replaced by much better quality if we are to challenge.

Think now we have O Halloran you can see the difference in quality between him and McKay. No way will McKay ha k it in the premiership far too lightweight and too easily pushed off the ball.

Talk about being critical but this is taking it to a new level. He's just turned 21, is still learning and will have good and bad days. Give the guy the proverbial break. McKay has real ability and great ball control and just needs to match these with self belief. Look at Raheem Sterling, you could say the same thing about him as you are about McKay but hey, he sold for 50 million quid a few months ago.

What a load of rubbish being talked about Mackay. He is a young player, still learning the game and is a different talent to O'Halloran and others. How come he is has been man of the match on a few occasions this season if he is that bad? He'll continue to improve. We need players like Mackay who have natural skill. Davie Cooper was lightweight wasn't he but it didn't stop him being a star at the top level! Today again we have the negative posters on here, just like those who were praising Hibs until not so long ago.

Mackay has been one our best players this season. Every player in the last few games hasn't preformed well but the finger seems to be only pointed at mackay. He's got a great future ahead off him so maybe back him rather than get on his back.

Your not seriously comparing McKay to Sterling? Sterling plays in one of the top leagues in world and has played for his country a good few times. McKay doesn't have anywhere near the ability that Sterling has and Sterling can cope with being as slight as he is quicker and far more skilful than McKay and can perform against some of the best players in the world.

Im afraid you don't get Motm by being the worst player on the pitch. He may not have been your standout candidate but he was obviously someones.
I really think the criticism is very harsh on McKay, he is a young winger, I think he is an easy target for the vultures now, the boy is a good player and will grow in stature if he's allowed.

Doiger, might be negative posts about mckay but its the truth. He's not that good certainly no where near raheem sterlings shadow. why is it people can't handle negative opinions? Is it because nothing bad can be said about anything rangers? Get a grip. I'm at ibrox every week same as most folk on here. Its fact lads that only 5 or 6 will get a game next season and the rest just won't be good enough. I agree that the gap between us and aberdeen hearts etc isn't that big, but its big enough to need at least 5 or 6 much much much better players than we have now. Proved when st johnstone gubbed us and then we stuttered and struggled to beat spl 2nd worst team killie. And as for posters saying some people just aren't happy, of course every fan is happy with where we are. We all know where we have been but we will need a lot better than what we have for the SPL. Cb cm cf winger a must. I hope king and co dig deep for warbs because the vultures of scottish football are waiting for us to fail.

Completely disagree with everything you have posted coldo. You say the gap between the sides below Celtic isn't big then you go on to say we need 5 or 6 players of a much much better standard to compete. That's a massive contradiction for a start. And Only 5 would get on the team in the top flight? Seriously? Where are these phenomenal players in these top flight teams at the moment? I haven't seen them. I've said it before - a poor Hibs side gubbed the sheep, DU, St J and Hearts. One game might be classed a fluke, but 4? Sorry can't agree with you on anything.

There is a world of difference between playing in the Scottish Championship and playing in the EPL or the English Championship. On the other hand there is not a great deal of difference between the SPL and the Scottish Championship.
For me I am yet to be convinced by McKay and I don't put a lot of credence in being the best player in the Championship!
In his favour he is a young lad and has plenty time to develop which I am sure that he will do under Warburton, (he also had the good fortune of going out on loan under McCoist so hasn't been destroyed like others were) .
I however am looking at a team of players that could hold their own in the top divisions of England and I consider that McKay has a lot of work to do and needs to show total commitment to get there.

Nice one guys. Wee Baz will most probably be our player of the year. I think he has been outstanding tbh and maybe Mr Warburton agrees with me as I think he's started every game bar one. Better get used to Barrie in the top flight as it's quite clear Mark has plans for him. If you check the stats I think he has more assists than anyone in the division. He's young and still learning but I think he's a special player who will cause big problems for the opposition next year.

The seeker, how is it a contradiction? There is a gap, not that big but big enough. what we have we won't be good enough. We got hammered by st johnstone and scraped past killie. Hearts and aberdeen we need to beat comfortably just to get second place. Which to be honest right now they would beat us and then there is celtic. They will spend this summer to make sure we don't get near them. So seeker if your happy to settle for challenging hearts and aberdeen then fair enough but if we want to challenge at the top then we need better than what we have. God we are struggling to beat teams in the championship with what we have, how do expect us to challenge in the spl with what we have. As I said its not that big but big enough to spend at least 3 to 4 mil to ensure hearts aberdeen are not a threat to us. If you think we would finish 2nd with what we have now the I think you are mistaken.

I think we will spend bigger than most people think but I don't think we need as many players as you are suggesting. And how do you think Hibs would do having gained confidence by dispatching 4 premier league teams? Sorry but the team is playing well and making loads of chances every game. If we weren't doing that i"d be worried. Everybody we play parks the bus but somehow this becomes our fault. Any team can keep the best of reams out using these tactics and benefitting from copious amounts of luck. This has happened on numerous occasions this season.
Even during our worst game this season (St Johnstone) we had chances to win the game. This team is light years ahead of the one that competed last year and very capable of holding its own in the top flight imo. Let's see what happens against Dundee. They are a decent side capable of beating anybody on their game. It will be difficult without O'Halloran and King but I think we'll do well, especially if they try and play football.
And no, I'm not always a glass half full kind of guy. There wasn't a harsher critic of last season's side than me I assure you. I just think that throughout the whole club from top to bottom, we are miles ahead of that mess and we'll set up for a tilt at the top flight.

We are playing well and creating lots of chances and the club is in a great place. I have never said we aren't. Teams park the bus and its hard to break them down and that's championship teams. All I'm saying is that if championship teams like alloa falkirk etc make it hard for us then the better Spl sides will make it twice as hard. An average st johnstone side sat in and countered us very easily. A very poor killie side made it hard for us. Unless we get better players then it will be hard in the Spl. Hearts and aberdeen are the best of the rest and we need to be better than them and with what we have now I just don't think we are. I do think that we need at least 5. I don't know much of the acc stanley pair so I can't comment on them. If they are better than what we have then that's 3 left, for me, a cf and cb and cm. You said hibs beat spl sides 4 times can't be a fluke? Hibs went and got hammered by morton and dumbarton, was that a fluke? we need better players to up there challenging. No doubt about it.
