agree with W15th match summary Barton was our best player today and should be a great signing - rossiter also looked good and I hope the Warbs considers starting him and Barton.

Nikko looked off the pace today and will take time to get his match sharpness as he hasn't played much football last 6 months but will still be a good player for us. Good to see Harry come in and put in a shift and I thought hodson looked solid too. I much prefer waggy through middle as he drifts out the game on the wing I'd play MoH or Windass wide with makay on the other wing and bench miller.

Centre half and centre fwd def still required

In Warbs we trust.

I heard its true that they have both rejected new deals as they are apparently unhappy at the money some incoming players are on ie Barton and Kranjcar

Surprised to hear this tbh as I would have thought Warbs would have managed this well amongst his squad but seemingly not.

TOM - whilst I appreciate where you are coming from, surely if the magic hat has shown us anything in the signings he has made so far, it's that quality signings need not be down to how big your budget is, but how you spend it

We obv. need to strengthen but it doesn't have to cost the earth - look at the likes of holt for 60k and waggy and tav for 450k - Brenda meanwhile won hee haw but wasted almost 100m on the likes of balotelli markovic benteke and lallana - I have full confidence in Warbs

Let the others come after us, we welcome the chase.

I have to agree with Albertz on this one - I don't want Arteta anywhere near Ibrox for a few reasons a) he is now injury prone and has hardly played last 2/ 3 years b) I don't think he fits the role of a defensive mid who will tackle and graft all over the park to cover both our CB's as he's never been a great tackler and isn't disciplined enough to play that role c) he left us citing 'homesickness' but was mysteriously at Everton within months d) even a large drop in his wages would still cause a huge imbalance in our wage structure and that would disrupt the harmony in our squad.

I'd rather Murdoch, Thomson or someone like that got their chance to develop into that role, but in any event I'm sure Warbs has a few ideal candidates in mind.

if its players we 'signed' and who didn't make the grade why have folk quoted hutton - he came through our academy and more than made the grade so much so we got circa 9m for him.

I'd say tugay - he cost 1m and cldnt quite 'make the grade' as our midfield was so good with likes of wee barry albertz gio reyna mccann kanchekskis etc but tugay was a class cntr mid who went on to do well at blackburn.

looks like Jota came off the bench for Brentford today so don't think he can sign for us as we would be the 3rd diff team he had played for in a season.

hope we can sign Toral tho - he does look like he has a bit of guile which we need in final 1/ 3

Before commenting on the garner vs hardie debate i would like to have seen the lad have a run in the team to see what he can do

I know most will say Warbs watches him train and doesn't think he's good enough, but does anyone honestly think if hardie played 18games for us he'd only have scored 3?

Also attacking mid as cover for niko is important, but if rossiter's injury is serious, we need a strong def mid asap as we don't dominate the middle of the park enough with holt and halliday. Pleased to see windass making progress - he had cple great passes on 31st which cut their defence open hopefully he can get an injury free run and establish himself

FORZA

agree with spoc we need far better quality in the middle of the park if we are going to be successful

i heard warbs is after an attacking mid but for me we need a central midfielder to put his foot on the ball and control the game - sincerely hope it can be rossiter

merry xmas to all.

Another good win fellow bears; that's 5 wins from
last 6 games hope that's us turned the corner. Great to see wallace / makay left hand side has clicked again as it was a constant threat tonight.

I still think balance in midfield could be better. Hope rossiter windass get fit soon as I would like to see them
in there as we need a better quality defensive mid and tav looks a bit out of sorts. He works hard and gets forward but clearly not his natural position and did he leave his shooting boots in the championship?

Forza.
