Very sad to hear earlier today of the passing of former Celtic and Motherwell player Johannes Edvaldsson

I'm of an age when I still remember him play . he was a tough cookie and a, player who was always a fierce old firm opponent

God bless and thoughts go out to his family.

1.) 25 Jan 2021 20:04:51
I'm too young to remember him but by sounds of it he was a gentleman.
RIP Mr Edvalsson

2.) 25 Jan 2021 20:08:29
Big Shuggie RIP.

As I said before we have a team with no spine and no proven winners in it that know how to find a way to win consistently when it matters not a single leader to drive and inspire .

1.) 12 Feb 2020 22:19:54
Allan MacGregor and Steven Davies aren't winners?

2.) 12 Feb 2020 22:30:16
For me no . compare Davis to brown . hate to say it but which has the hungrier personality? As for shagger his behaviour in vital games has cost us.

3.) 12 Feb 2020 22:35:10
We have proven winners in allan mcgregor and steven davis! Both would never be out the rangers team and from now until the end of the season, that has to be the case, barring injury. Both born winners, who know what it takes and to play for the famous!

4.) 12 Feb 2020 23:15:00
Both followers not leaders that said great players don't always, make great leaders. Davis, is passive and shaggers
fist pumping and finger pointing aren't exactly the behaviours of a leader or of benchmark standard for others to see as how to win when it matters.

5.) 13 Feb 2020 00:25:00
And both are past their prime sadly.

6.) 13 Feb 2020 02:54:33
You have to admit sgl, it's a sad day though when you are relying on a 38 year old and a 35 year old. Whether you feel gerrard is the man or not, he is tactically naive. Even before xmas, at the beginning of the season, I lost count of the amount of times on here after a game someone said "that's a game we would have lost last year though" after a narrow win. Not exactly enthralling stuff. Had a few good patches but also a few shaky ones, coupled to the abysmal one post xmas.

Probably get shot down . but any of you folks think Gary Mackay-Steven is worth a punt?

1.) 21 Jun 2019 09:59:22
On top of the 48 wingers we already have on the books? No thanks.

2.) 21 Jun 2019 10:40:05
Said this when Gerrard arrived, always liked the guy, was absolutely lambasted for saying it. As far as the 48 wingers, genuine wingers, we've got Candeias, an injured Jamie Murphy, albeit he's returning, we've had to resort to loanees to solve that problem for 2 seasons now with Kent and now Ojo. It's a no brainer to go with a tried and tested player who knows the league and the players, we all know how ejaria worked out.

3.) 21 Jun 2019 11:23:20
Bryan. wingers candieas yes murphy is back. Ojo possibly kent. hastie stewart can play wide. Middleton away onloan, not forgetting jones.

4.) 21 Jun 2019 11:33:56
Great. First game of the new season on a plastic pitch! Never mind, we have the unwashed at home first time around.

5.) 21 Jun 2019 11:40:48
Hastie is a young boy mate, he's had one good season, lots of potential aye but he's looking like one for the future. Greg Stewart may be able to play on the wing but that's certainly not why he was brought to Ibrox. I'll give you the Jones one, had forgot all about him, take from that what you will.

6.) 21 Jun 2019 12:41:29
Mackay Steven is a big no because he didn't make the grade over by and can't handle the big crowds. Ok for Dundee Utd or Aberdeen. That"s his level.

7.) 21 Jun 2019 13:38:12
Get your points guys . just thought he might be worth a punt as he is a good SPL player and in my opinion a bigger threat than a lot of what we have. which I'm sure will decrease during the close season. always thought he could offer something positive.

20 May 2019 11:00:36
Any thoughts on the probable signing of Greg Stewart? For me this is not a Rangers standard player .

1.) 20 May 2019 12:23:33
Think he is a good squad player in a position we are short. He will do well I think, but there will be someone better too, I am pretty sure.

maybe we should put in a cheeky loan bit for Bale LOL.

2.) 20 May 2019 13:13:01
Give Stevie G the respect guys as it’s him who makes the signings πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§.

just a thought for us unhappy rangers fans.

Im losing my patience hearing the word boycott everytime we hear something we don't like or see happening at the club and the only ones suffering are the team as is seen by the current level of performance and position in the league

I just think its time that we got behind the team as unless we do we face no promotion and further pain.
Look at newcastle the fans don't enjoy the regime that's in charge but they overlook that and stay loyal to the team on the park that's an example I beleive we should follow

Ive been a cautious supporter of ashley and his involvement in rangers and still beleive that his involvement in the long term will benefit us

All I ask is put the team on the park, first for once and give them our full backing for the new year but not from the sofa but from being at the game shouting and cheering them back to form and contention to get us promoted

Put ally and the board to the side and focus on what matters THE TEAM!!!

{Ed001's Note - the Newcastle fans have organised boycotts too you know. Also numerous protests. It is only that the team suddenly hits form as they get momentum that they die out.}

1.) GP, I agree with your thoughts on Ashley, cautious optimism about his involvement. Unfortunately, I refuse to watch the standard of football being played while mcc. is in charge. In fact, I would rather go shopping with the mrs. , and I rate that on a par with a visit to the dentist.

2.) 19 Dec 2014 11:38:21
i think we have been putting the board and mccoist on the back foot far to long we have well and truly supported our team in previous years and been giving nothing in return what is there to be happy about at our club so action against the board and mccoist needs to happen and I see the report of hatley supposedly trying to talk to the players behind mccoist back now we no why he sitting next to easdales

3.) How can anyone make a case to watch that standard of football? The football is appalling. I understand about getting behind the team but why should we bother when it's the same one paced rubbish week in week out. Why watch the same players play badly knowing that no matter how bad they play they will be starting next game.

4.) 19 Dec 2014 14:34:06
mike ashley is making the positive moves that the fans were shouting out for ,first of all remove graham wallace and the other guy I can't remember ,now the move to replace ally mc coist which to me a majority of fans wanted , M.A . has a game plan and that involves putting money into the club ,so please no more boycotts or we might cry wolf once to often and end up with NO club at all doug t.s.o

5.) Bigdimps ime not being cheeky here, but how do you know what mike Ashley has planned for our club, as there's been nought in the media, no word from nobody, have we to guess and hope we guess right about Ashley's plans, if he has plans.

6.) 19 Dec 2014 19:38:41
hi george M.A. is an ambitious guy with a track record for success and keeping his mouth shut , as my old ma would say never let the left foot know what the right foot is doing ,id my own hgv road haulage business for 39 years till I retired last year ,i had people wanting to buy into it as a partnership ,but success is better off in your own head rather than shared ,so there is no reason to share any his plans with the media or anyone for that matter ,its obvious to me he sees rangers as big potential to make him a lot of money ,but at the same time M.A will need to speculate to accumulate to which will be to rangers benefit doug t.s.o

7.) Bigdimps. Yes I agree with all you say at n6 mate, especially about letting us know the script, he must be smart enough to know that if wants the fans to back him he will need to let us in on his plans, he has me wondering why he won't declare his intentions, maybe he will be happy enough with his retail deal, without more involvment, I hope this is not the case, thus I think he should let the people, the people that will either scupper his plans, or back him to the hilt, he is a clever man but isn't acting like one imo

8.) Good on you big d, I'm with you and as we were both taught about your business dealings. --- '' Do the deal and live off it'', but most importantly, ''silence is golden. ''

9.) 19 Dec 2014 23:38:02
hi george and billy b I think M.A. will surprise us but at his own pace hoping to build up a trust between himself and the fans , he has the best opportunity to expand big time with gers if he invests money for decent players and a good manager to overtake celtic and spread his gospel in europe ,i also don't think he will let the spfl and sfa get in his way either ,as far as i'm concerned no rangers in scotland and scottish football is finished ,its balancing on the brink of a cliff right now doug t.s.o

10.) Billyb silence is golden when you are dealing with hundreds of people, not when you are dealing with hundreds of thousands, and with the media shooting us down at every farts end I think they should be put in there place, and give us something to look forward to, leaving us guessing is wrong imo

It's not rocket science that all the big name clubs that were rumoured to be interested have not put up the money for fredo . they don't believe he can play at a, higher level . and nor do I.

Said it before kent is a class act and is a level above those around him which I beleive is why he looks out of sorts in some games. That said he can still turn games from 1 point to 3 with his ability. for me he must see this season out for us .

Kent is a class act. it's the incompetent idiots around him that make kent look ordinary at times as there not as, his level.

Has everyone forgot we have Greg Stewart? . I was a harsh critic of his and still am but he is not any worse than the dross were being linked with.

I am dissapointed Scotland could not beat England I'm not happy to celebrate a draw as if it's a win . I'm not optimistic we can bear Croatia.

Hi Floyder

To be honest I think the joke which is the government are trying to show there even handed with the old firm and not doing a great job of it. personally I feel we make ourselves an easy target in a lot of was though
I will always celebrate any success our club have but in a, proper way . my daughter has just gotten over meningitis which puts life in some kind of importantance levels . Will be partaking of a few malts tonight though 😊.

Hi floyder maybe I'm quite old school in my thinking I just feel that comparing reactions to stupid and irresponsible behaviour is not how our own fans stupidity should be tackled. once we can say our house is in order and this is what we did to try combat this then we can ask questions of others and how they tackled similar issues.

For me trying to justify our so called fans behaviour by comparing incidents in George square and London is ridiculous. both sets of behaviour were wrong but you always get your own house in order before criticising others.

I'm of the mind that Kamara didn't really shine in the 1st 2 group games but then perhaps the way Finland were set up didn't allow him to play his, natural game but I still expected a, but more from him .
