Interested in people's views on the Union Bears. Going on protest tonight due to possibly being moved from their section in the future.

They get the crowd going and do create atmosphere in the ground but I also think they create/ encourage the sectarian singing, chants and banners.

They hold a lot of power over our younger fans and could have a big effect if they strongly opposed offensive behaviour.

The worrying thing mate is they are our young fans and I thoroughly enjoyed the game without the sectarianism and I welcome them being split up.

2.) 27 Feb 2019 22:23:12
they are as bad as the Green Brigade. Both groups shame both clubs and the majority of decent fans.
I would ban them after giving due warning re their behaviour. If they don't improve then get rid!

3.) 28 Feb 2019 05:18:03
Living down south always get comments how great our fans are then the negative ones about the sectarianism chanting I find myself trying to explain the history of rangers and celtic and traditions . thing is we need to move on into 21 st century we don’t need to sing all this sβ€”t noticed we are singing less.

So they are all gone. i'm sure they will be successes elsewhere but just not working right with the limited budget. The next manager must be a proven winner.

Been reading comments from fans and journalists comparing rangers and aberdeen and mw and mcinnes. Since we went down aberdeen have finished 8th,3rd then 2nd twice. 32pts, 31pts, 17 and 15pts behind celtic with the 2nd highest budget in the spl. Mcinnes and aberdeen have done well but it took them time to get there. Be realistic of how we have changed as a club and where we are on our journey.

Joleon Lescott and Michu Rangers final 2 signings.

huey

1.) 05 Aug 2016 09:39:08
and your source of this rumour? Wasn't Michu a troublemaker pain in the a****?

2.) 05 Aug 2016 09:46:56
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β˜οΈβ˜.

3.) 05 Aug 2016 09:53:59
If people are making rumours up let's at least include decent footballers! Sergio Ramos will be our final signing.

4.) 05 Aug 2016 10:00:13
Would probably take both if it was up to me, wage dependant. Lescott has had his critics but Is relatively solid. Michu has lost his way a bit and is now playing in Spain's third division, but Warbs has a good track record of allowing players to recapture form/ achieve potential.

5.) 05 Aug 2016 10:52:41
08.49 bit earlier for the sauce no?

6.) 05 Aug 2016 11:53:46
Not sure about the link but i don't know what kind of players rangers fans want to attract here.

7.) 05 Aug 2016 13:04:39
I wouldn't touch any of them with a barge pole, Lescott is useless and Michu is just plain trouble surely we can do better than these two.

8.) 05 Aug 2016 13:20:52
Just passing on info from a relative who drinks with a member of scouting staff. don't think Michu has had any trouble apart from injuries.

9.) 05 Aug 2016 13:59:02
lescott would be ten times better than hill or rk or dw.

Dom Ball apparently in demand down south with Leeds showing strong interest, think he was most peoples back up plan. i'm sure we are working hard behind the scenes but its really vital to our season to get a 1st choice cb in now.

1.) 03 Aug 2016 19:54:28
Leeds appear to be the new Celtic everybody were linked with the want as well!

2.) 03 Aug 2016 23:47:35
As much as I rate Dom ball for the future I really don't think he would be the answer for our defence this season.

Totally agree with gers09. Good to see a Scottish player try something different outside UK, just a shame it was him

I haven't heard any of your 'facts' even mentioned by the respected sports press so really it's all just your opinion, saying fact doesn't make it true. Mkloyal are you secretly Donald Trump?

I didn't disagree but I would now. Not disagreeing he will be no2 because it's confirmed in all the papers but disagree because you think someone that wasn't the papers told you.

I think you could be right but actually it's not that weird a scenario it's just how it's been dragged out.

I just can't see why a top level UK manager would take it when they get 5 or 10 times as much down there. Brendan Rodgers is still ridiculed down south so it won't help anyone's reputation either. Only options are a Rangers person (Murty, ex managers/ players) or a lower level manager.

Seems to be doing well and lots of positive reports from those around him. I think at his age players need to be playing every week to develop so i would give him another season out on loan, possibly to an spl team and have Hardie back for his chance.

I posted yesterday about Union Bears. I'm glad that most folk seem to be in agreement that their behaviour is unacceptable. They have made me feel uncomfortable and I'm sure must put off people coming with children too. Anyone can bang a drum and start a song so if they won't stop the sectarianism then i'd tell them they aren't welcome.

Hear hear. Protestants are more similar to Catholics than any other group in society. If these people are genuinely religious then they should feel a bond with their Christian brothers. That said I would assume a tiny fraction of those who sing the songs have ever been to church.

I really think it's about time the club says there should be no political, religious and nation based association with the club. To say the club us a unionist club is ridiculous. These may have been the beliefs of those around when the club was set up but why should anyone follow that? I also find it funny when people talk about protestantism when it realates to football, let them sing Church of Scotland till I die. I would be surprised if even 10% of our fans are religious in any form.

This is a football club. I could not care less about the union, religion or the history of N ireland.

In all honesty I have felt ashamed and unwelcome on multiple occasions at Ibrox from the singing and chants.

Aye. I have seen it on other press and Bournemouth fans sites saying around 60k per week so around half that for us. Not a chance he would be on anywhere near 120k p/ w.
