See Jake Cooper being linked again. I know we were interested before. Anyone know if this is genuine? always seemed a solid cb when iv seen him.

huey

1.) 11 Aug 2023 11:11:04
Huey our interest has never went away re cooper.

2.) 11 Aug 2023 11:11:27
huey, this is a player I'd love at Ibrox.

3.) 11 Aug 2023 11:40:52
Does this imply that Davies might be on his way out? While I'd rather Harry Souttar, that looks unlikely to me financially, so this might be a more realistic move. I think eh's going in to the final year of his contract?

4.) 11 Aug 2023 11:43:27
Cheers John. Big lad, also pretty mobile and aggresive, scores a few headers too. i'd be really happy if we got him.

5.) 11 Aug 2023 11:59:25
We should be going for Ryan Fraser. I’m sure he’d like the chance to compete for trophies. Persona non grata at Newcastle. He’d give us assists and goals.

6.) 11 Aug 2023 12:00:04
I see some Millwall links but it's not clear that it's cooper, could be Murray Wallace and he would win the ball in the air at both ends and he's a leftie LB or CB .

7.) 11 Aug 2023 12:09:13
Wouldn’t be shocked if we end up with Liam copper instead.

8.) 11 Aug 2023 12:10:17
Mcminn I don’t think Fraser any good at ch.

9.) 11 Aug 2023 12:16:52
McMinn yes Fraser is spot on, Howe doesn't want him as they fell out, so that's a loan that makes sense .

10.) 11 Aug 2023 12:34:03
John27 But maybe better than Davies though? Debatable of course, he might also be better than McLaughlin but that's a long shot.

11.) 11 Aug 2023 12:43:18
Another Championship player, but at least this one is playing regularly . Signing a big dominant left sided centre back is what we need but if it means Davies going we are still one short.

12.) 11 Aug 2023 13:47:27
@Kelso, Murray Wallace is a name I've heard in chat before. Think he came through some level of youth at Rangers before moving to Falkirk then heading down south - which might make him 'homegrown'but the timing looks tight as it looks like he moved south when he was 19.

13.) 11 Aug 2023 13:59:28
Would be happy to see Davies move on as most times it looks like the desire and overall effort is not there - assume his heart is elsewhere. A better replacement is obviously still required though - More than happy with a fit Souttar in at CH so long may that continue.

14.) 11 Aug 2023 14:05:19
Fair shout Kelso.

Manager says he needs four ch, we have Souttar Goldson Davies Balogun king and at a push yefeko, I’d say one would do.

15.) 11 Aug 2023 14:20:08
There's another Jake Cooper, let's hope it's not the wrong one.

16.) 11 Aug 2023 14:22:03
The Millwall Jake Cooper must be close to end of contract and / or negotiating new one?

17.) 11 Aug 2023 15:40:40
Again don't see how Cooper's profile differs from Davies

We keep targeting championship players we will never compete in champions league.

18.) 11 Aug 2023 16:29:02
Yo Jimbo Wallace is a big powerful and athletic player, been under the radar for Scotland too and that's ridiculous considering some of the dumplings capped . Just a player I like and only mentioned as Cooper and Millwall rumoured so I thought it may be relevant. home grown status? I think he must be .

19.) 11 Aug 2023 16:42:11
John27 Wallace plays LB or LCB in a 3 so that's why I dropped it in really, Davies must be going and King injured and a leftie appears to be required, all guesswork right now.

20.) 11 Aug 2023 16:50:55
Agree gofor.
Don’t know why this is the model.
One of the ones I think wil flop is dowel, see him being off again next summer. Sick of all these championship players. Need to raise the bar.

21.) 11 Aug 2023 18:37:19
Kelso how is king injured, did that happen today.

22.) 11 Aug 2023 18:37:45
Stevie, what higher level do u mean.

23.) 11 Aug 2023 19:15:50
King not fully fit so yeah maybe "injured" incorrect but close though aye?

24.) 11 Aug 2023 21:05:13
John I’m meaning our per suit of players should be a higher market than England championship.
Why not go for the Scandinavian and Eastern Europe defenders as an example as for me they’re better than what we keep signing the last god knows how many years.
We’ve been hit and miss and I get that but we need to raise the bar in our scouting mate is what I mean.

25.) 11 Aug 2023 21:16:36
Cheers Kelso, played two b team games, 60 minutes, also on bench killie and Servette.

26.) 11 Aug 2023 21:45:02
Cooper has knocked us back twice wouldn’t give him a third chance.

27.) 14 Aug 2023 02:22:11
I wasn't convinced at first by dowel either but his work rate is good if a player puts the effort in they are ok with me.

Scored a screamer now too so hopefully Beale65 was correct in him he's watched him more than me.

09 May 2023 21:47:44
John, i think, mentioned the other day Rangers looking at players that had been at Rangers youth for homegrown coefficient, mentioned Kelly, McKay, Hardie, etc. More for a laugh, but what about Danny Wilson and Kal Naismith? More seriously I'd take Fleck and I'm not sure if Lewis Morgan would qualify as I know he started at us but I'd take him too, developed into a cracking wee player in the MLS.

huey

1.) 09 May 2023 22:25:37
Think Morgan will be out our budget.

2.) 09 May 2023 22:28:33
If definitely take fleck. but probably not the rest maybe McKay at a push….

3.) 09 May 2023 22:35:50
Wouldn't mind Fleck.

4.) 09 May 2023 22:53:57
Sadly your probably right Beale, surprised he's not had a look in for Scotland.

5.) 09 May 2023 23:39:14
Lewis Morgan? Are you having a laugh?

6.) 10 May 2023 01:23:57
With yet another financial director leaving taking the total so far to 5 board members does anyone know why. Is it anything todo with the way the clubs been run ie cl money, transfer cash etc now seemingly all gone or is it rats leaving the sinking ship. I hope its just clearing out the dead wood and not something more serious. Does anyone know what's going on? @john27 I know you are probably the most "in the know" person on here have you any idea of what is transpiring.

7.) 10 May 2023 01:47:58
They asked Beale about this last week and he said something like part of the changes that are coming.

8.) 10 May 2023 03:44:41
Am guessing its to do with all the fan protests. They wanted the board out. They are getting there wish.

9.) 10 May 2023 07:17:38
And if it goes tits up i hope they will all be happy with there protests.

10.) 10 May 2023 07:49:45
If we're looking to have eight players in the European squad, who can genuinely add value to the squad over the season, it could be;

Home-grown
Mccrorie
King
Devine
Lowry

Association
Souttar
Arfield (extension)
Jack (extension)
Shankland.

11.) 10 May 2023 07:53:49
Bennet is having a root and branch clear out, these guys are section heads, the term Director is given out like confetti

Only a couple merit the tittle. Take pippa Dickson in charge of catering only in post as hubby was head of admin and finance.

12.) 10 May 2023 07:54:56
Huey, I see the search will be a fruitless search, however they are correct to cover every avenue imo.

13.) 10 May 2023 08:52:00
Tj he got 14 goals in 32 games from left wing last season and in MLS team of the season, good player. Can't see any ex youth being at the level required. In terms of the board I think it's Bennett freshening things up.

14.) 10 May 2023 09:03:41
Ehl 20 what bit to count in 25 plavyers need to b over 21
So Lowry Devine king do not count for the 25
They become blisters players.

15.) 10 May 2023 09:13:45
Are we simply going over the fact he played for celtic then aye? Shouldn't be anywhere near us.

16.) 10 May 2023 09:29:54
TJ who gives a f who he played for before. If he came and improved our team then I honestly couldn’t care less, he’s a rangers man anyway.

17.) 10 May 2023 09:38:03
Morgan is a bluenose Tjrfc.

18.) 10 May 2023 10:45:16
Tjrfc MO Johnstone and Kenny Miller Played for Celtic and were both good signings for us so if Morgen is good enough it shouldn't matter who he has played for.

19.) 10 May 2023 10:54:25
Kal Naismith wouldn't be a bad shout, one of our better academy graduates who would be a realistic signing at the moment. Only signed for Bristol City last summer though so not sure what they'd want for him.

20.) 10 May 2023 11:17:00
John they don’t need to be over 21 just trained at rangers for 3 years before 21 which all 3 have. They can make up the list or just choose 22 players without registering them and they can still play as under 21. They meet the quota either way.

21.) 10 May 2023 11:51:37
Honestly think McKay would offer is more than wright . no harm to wright he's a trier but just not quite there maybe needs to play at a club regularly.

22.) 10 May 2023 12:43:31
Yip Monty, that's how I interpret the rule - could be wrong though.

So for me I'd rather see King and Devine be given more first team opportunities next season and fill the A list - than see us sign Squad fillers.

23.) 10 May 2023 13:00:15
Monty go read the rules U do NOT register them in A squad plain and simple, honestly not hard to understand.

24.) 10 May 2023 15:08:20
I knows Kals family well, highly doubt he will be at Rangers, signed a 3 year deal with Bristol last season amd now into his 30s, had a good career down south though as a utility player.

25.) 10 May 2023 22:53:36
Hardie has had a decent couple of years and really no different from guys we are looking at lower leagues of England. So wouldn't surprise me if did move for him.

26.) 11 May 2023 16:30:23
Hardie was playing in a league as good as the SPL, next season he's in a much better league .

30 Jan 2022 18:29:49
Rumours we are signing young Poland right back Mateusz Zukowski.

huey

1.) 30 Jan 2022 20:29:35
Looks is if its nearly done not sure if another squad player is needed at the moment but seems to be all were getting, don't seen him replacing tav.

Seen a lot of chat on here lately of 'all the fans want him gone, he's lost the fans etc. Iv seen different opinions on here so not sure its that clear cut. Unless iv missed it, not seen a poll.

EDs can we have a poll, should Beale stay or go now?

huey

{Ed033's Note - You didn't look very hard. This poll was from a week ago on here. Has anything changed in a week?

Do you want Beale sacked now or later? :)

Now (74%)

Wait till just after Christmas (8%)

Wait till the end of this season (18%)

1.) 10 Sep 2023 18:19:19
ED, if you don't mind me asking do you think michael beale should/ will be given more time to sort things out at rangers, or do you think they will/ should bin him now mate ? A fresh pair of eyes looking in ED without any bias ED, that's why i asked your good self pal ?.

{Ed001's Note - personally I don't think Beale is a manager and should never have been given the job (or any head coaching job anywhere) but if you appoint someone you should give them a chance to actually try. It really needs about 3 full seasons to build a team and get them fully playing the way a manager wants.

I do think he won't see 3 years, I am surprised he is still there now after the way the fans turned on him. I really can't see how he can survive that. Without the fans a manager has no chance.}

2.) 10 Sep 2023 18:45:32
Ed think you have summed it up perfectly, think most fans would be in li e with your opinion.

3.) 10 Sep 2023 18:55:16
Much appreciated ED, thanks for your opinion on beale mate ?.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

4.) 10 Sep 2023 18:55:42
Ed, how many managers get 3 years nowadays especially at a club that demands success? Hate to compare with them but Ange took over a shambles, identified how he wanted to play, signed players from that system and played them in their position and most of them hit the ground running, and barely lost a game in 2 years. and is now doing similar at spurs.

{Ed001's Note - I know, and I understand that but if you didn't believe in a manager enough to give them time then you shouldn't appoint them in the first place.}

5.) 10 Sep 2023 19:14:04
Ed totally agree with all your points. Beale lacked the experience and should never have been considered.

6.) 10 Sep 2023 19:18:11
Thanks lol. Well asking a poll directly after an old firm defeat when we should sack the manager isn't the same thing but ok no worries.

7.) 10 Sep 2023 19:22:03
Managers are lucky to get 3 months nowadays never mind 3 years now Ed. Look at how many managers Man U have went through since Ferguson and there is a good chance it will be the same at Liverpool when Klopp goes as well as at Man City when Pep goes unless the manager hits the ground running.

8.) 10 Sep 2023 19:49:02
100% get rid of him now, he really should never have been appointed in 1st place and our style of play is horrendous.

9.) 10 Sep 2023 20:05:06
Unbeliever, sourness Smith Gerrard all lacked experience but the 1 thing all had was the backing of the board and whilst some can say beale has been backed is 13m for 9 players enough, I want him out but our board must take some responsibility.

10.) 10 Sep 2023 20:10:41
Fair point Ed but if you make a mistake in appointment, how long do you wait to change?

{Ed001's Note - if you believe you have made a mistake then you don't wait. That is just compounding the error.}

11.) 10 Sep 2023 20:28:10
If he goes now we can win the league, if he stays we've no chance of winning it.

12.) 10 Sep 2023 20:32:17
If Ange was our manager he would have been sacked after his three defeats just as the mob clambering for beals head after three defeats.
What I get from the Ed’s comments are is absurd to contemplate sacking a manager after three poor results . Especially when he has just made the club 5 million by getting To play psv.

13.) 10 Sep 2023 20:57:22
OWS, Mr Beale has definitely been backed by the board, in the region of £13m, he did’nt just take it out of the cash till and say I’m off to the sales . The board have to take responsibility.

14.) 10 Sep 2023 20:59:31
The difference Ange had a plan / system, beale appears to have no system, everything is just a jumbled up mess we have brought in strikers, who have a terrible record in last few seasons.

15.) 10 Sep 2023 22:00:38
What's this fascination with your "three defeats" argument Mols? Beales been here for 9 months, so your arguement is much like Beale's formation in that it doesn't make sense.

16.) 10 Sep 2023 22:30:39
What style of play is that Storm? We have no style lol 100% right tho, hopefully announced tomorrow and the reason for the wait is they announce his successor.

17.) 10 Sep 2023 22:32:06
Mols it's not 3 games tho. It's 10 months and two transfer windows taking over a team most of whom he'd already coached so knows them well. Ange took over a shambles of a team, had a plan, and a strategy and made signings that hit the ground running. Beale took over basically his own team who'd also been to a euro final. Signs 9 players, most who he doesn't even start in biggest games of season, and still doesn't have a clear idea on system to play.

18.) 10 Sep 2023 23:13:26
He beat servette hardly a great scalp.

19.) 11 Sep 2023 00:10:16
Yes and is his win percentage on that time not better than anyone else’s . According to the stats someone put up . And then to counter act that I’m sure a few came back with …. But he’s not been here that long so not had nearly as many games as the others .
You can’t whip the man with both arguments. At least pick one and give him credit for the other .

06 Jul 2023 20:13:23
That's Dessers confirmed on a 4 year deal. Welcome big man. The more iv seen of him the more I like him.

huey

1.) 06 Jul 2023 20:19:59
Welcome to the Famous, Cyriel ?⚪️?.

08 May 2023 13:58:54
See today we are being linked with Arsenal player Auston Trusty, American 24 yo plays centre or left back, been on loan at Birmingham. Checked and he seems to have been playing ahead of Dion Sanderson who we were previously linked with. Anyone on here know if we have been scouting Birmingham City games?

huey

1.) 08 May 2023 14:17:44
American been mainly left centre half at Birmingham,
Looked like mainly left back in the states.
Tough tackling and big 6ft 3.

2.) 08 May 2023 14:20:47
He would been a good signing for lcb good height about same as Goldson and fast for a cb seen him play once and he played very well and seen him in a few games on tv in the mls. huey opposite side from Sanderson maybe scouts picked up on him scouting him.

3.) 08 May 2023 14:38:50
Hes just won their player of the season and only missed 2 games in the last 2+ years so sounds good. Beale, just seen Sanderson had an injury which kept him out the last couple months which was why he wasn't playing but both look decent options to me.

01 Sep 2022 23:56:46
No late business. I would have liked 1 in but overall happy with the squad and our business. People worried early window when we hadn't made any signings then we got 7 in. Matondo and Yilmaz still settling but the rest have have done well. Our new CB's we can't judge given the extremely difficult personal issues they face. 15m profit this window, probably our strongest financial position in 20 years, CL next week. I'm a happy Bear. Aye ready!

huey

1.) 02 sep 2022 00:09:06
absolutely huey, there’s a meltdown on the rumours page,

people who forget about the horrors of a few years ago

7 players in, but still not happy, qualifying for champions league only a few days ago, means nothing to them, glory hunters always want more

i’m happy enough.

2.) 02 Sep 2022 00:18:36
Couldn't agree with you more huey. Onwards and upwards we should fear no team. Bring on Saturday so excited am gone for 2=1 rangers tillman goldson. What your predictions boys?

3.) 02 Sep 2022 00:12:24
Huey, fact is players don't get time to "settle in" . We need players to hit the ground running . I'm concerned about our rumoured injuries, obviously Gio isn't. Helander, Roofe, Souter. Is Lawrence and Tav injured? We have only 1 fit striker at the mo that were dependent on.

4.) 02 Sep 2022 01:05:11
I also agree. People on here crying out for Deadline Day signings, but nobody left and we avoided signing Aaron Ramsey 2 and Amad Diallo 2 so all good. We have injuries, personal issues but those players will return and then we'll have greater depth. We were the better team in last 2 Old Firm games and in CL so game on!

5.) 02 Sep 2022 01:20:27
3 1 Rangers boy blue Tillman and Colak double, more than happy huey same as you would like another signing but i think we are stronger than last season, Arbio out Tillman Lawrence in Bassey out Davies Yilmaz in, i think both Davies and Yilmaz will be good signings once they get up to speed hopefully Matondo improves in the weeks and months ahead, Morelos will be back challenging very soon and Roofe won't be far behind him.

6.) 02 Sep 2022 01:33:19
I agree lads.

7.) 02 Sep 2022 05:11:56
I'm more than happy with our signings and trust gio if he thinks we're covered ?Apart from the obvious sales of joe aribo and calvin bassey, we've managed to hold onto our top players and added quality earlier in this transfer window ?Colak and tav the goalscorers for us again them the morra in a 2-1 victory for the famous ???.

8.) 02 Sep 2022 05:35:24
Huey spot on.

9.) 02 Sep 2022 06:18:53
Let’s hope that Kamara and Morelos, in particular, don’t have any regrets about staying and bring their best game to the table. All in all the window has provided us with more options on the park but we need the injured and missing players back asap. To all the folks with insider knowledge on the Rumours page, maybe some of your predictions might come to fruition during the next window.

22 Aug 2022 22:22:42
Had to stop myself commenting over the past couple of days but just a quick list of people that have been described on hear as absolutely useless in the last week and shouldn't be at Rangers

Gio, Ross Wilson, Mclaughlin, tav, goldson, sands, barasic, kamara, Davis, arfield, Jack, matondo, kent, Tillman, Alfie, Roofe, Sakala, wright.

And here was me thinking 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 and a good performance in 2-2 with PSV was pretty good for our last 4 games. Was always going to be a tough game against Hibs and we shouldn't have dropped points in that way but no need to overreact. Hear folk on here question the mental toughness or mentality of players then slate most of our team, the manager and say leagues over after a poor result. Need to move on to the next game and get behind everyone.

huey

1.) 22 Aug 2022 23:22:46
OK, who forgot to criticize Colak?

2.) 22 Aug 2022 23:57:35
Huey, stop talking sense mate, you’ll get barred fae here lol, good post pal.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 07:09:21
Sorry huey I will never accept a draw, always a win for me so the last 4 games not good anuff that's the standards we set, if you or any one else is happy with our performances at the start of this season that's your opinion mine is that we have under performed and a few others agree but again just my opinion.

4.) 23 Aug 2022 07:13:26
well said heuy.

5.) 23 Aug 2022 08:08:39
Huey agree with your list but a still think Mclaughlin should be no2 think we need to bring in another keeper.

6.) 23 Aug 2022 08:32:43
Etc, explain your thinking on McLaughlin.

What do you see or know that our manager is missing?

7.) 23 aug 2022 09:30:03
that’s easy for huey to say

but what do dewey and louie think?

8.) 23 Aug 2022 09:36:24
GI… other people agree but that’s just my opinion? If it’s just your opinion, you don’t need to circle other people into the discussion.
As someone who works with athletes, I think that I can maybe be more objective. As a rangers fan, of course it’s disappointing to see poor passages of play or even poor matches. But also, in many other sports, athletes train for an event and peak for it. It’s incredibly hard mentally emotionally and physically to be peaked for almost the entire year. There will always be peaks and valleys of performance. And maybe as fans it’s good sometimes to be less subjective and say that an ongoing pattern of failures is a sign of issues but a draw isn’t an ongoing failure pattern. I do agree that Rangers with the value of player, the investment in sports science etc should be blowing these teams away, but it’s also not feasible to be in that constant peak state. There is a mental aspect to performance and raging that things aren’t good enough when a draw occurs is akin to a parent chastising their child for getting a B and not an A. It’s a poor strategy and sometimes unwavering support is a better tactic. ‘Just my opinion’.

9.) 23 aug 2022 11:35:02
what?

these guys are professional footballers, who are paid, very well, to be at peak every day never mind every week, it’s their job, they aren’t athletes training for a specific event, they have a job, this is their work

trying to compare a professional football player with a althletics guy is nonsense

trying too hard mate, are you telling me to expect an occasional “ peak, from a guy paid 35k a week.

10.) 23 aug 2022 11:42:17
btw mate

we are 4 games in, are you saying we are in a trough?

the other thing that empties this argument is that this is a team game, with substitutes and large pool of players, of course we expect decent levels for a year, and when a player flags he gets replaced, it cannot be comparable to individual event sportsmen.

11.) 23 Aug 2022 12:06:22
Sorry ronald de boer was quite good i respect that's your opinion but I have a complete different opinion and in regards to me adding other people agree the reason for that is for the first post at the top just saying iv noticed other people posting the same thing .

What he's saying is

"Anyone picking up Roofe to hearts? Us (rangers) paying his wages.

The hearts lad (shanks) to us 3.5 year deal. "

So we sign shankland and they get roofe, probably on loan, and we still pay 100% of his wages. If roofe could stay fit I could see it but would they get more than 5 games out him? I presume we would still need to pay 3m+? Who knows, just 24hrs of these rumours then we can relax.

I'd read they actually paid €8m with the rest as add ons etc so a fee might not be as steep as thought.

It is mad. Bassey seems to have really come on to a game for Fulham recently. Could see a move upwards if he keeps performing, happy for the lad.

I don't think Dessers is the long term solution but he has been our main striker all season and we are top of the league so no reason why they would change between now and end of the season. Get behind all the boys.

If I was to bring anyone into defence for this match it would be Balogun on the left cb in a back 5 with goldson in middle and souttar on rcb.

Implementing VAR with AI promises faster, more consistent decisions, reducing human error and bias. However, AI might struggle with subjective calls. Human referees offer experience, empathy, and contextual judgment, enhancing the game's integrity. Yet, they remain prone to error and bias. A hybrid approach, combining AI for objective rulings and human oversight for subjective calls, could offer the best solution

Well that's what AI ChatGPT says anyway ?

My two pence is let refs ref the game, technology for offside and over goal line and give each side 3 uses of VAR a game if they want to challenge a refs decision, like in tennis.
