Apparently interest in young striker from liverpool brewster obv stevies conections
Is he what we need?

tilladie

1.) 09 Jun 2020 15:47:06
Ojo Mark 2
No thanks we need strikers who will die for the shirt on their back.

2.) 09 Jun 2020 16:52:21
Oh aye nicedayforawalk? Which strikers have you in mind?

3.) 09 Jun 2020 17:05:06
I think we need to get away from just trying to sign players who are rangers men or so called die hard rangers fan. We just need to sign players who will improve our squad. If they support Leyton Orient or Leeds, or whoever I don't care. As long as they want to play for rangers and give there best then I will support them as long as they wear a rangers shirt.

4.) 09 Jun 2020 19:12:24
I'd rather stay away from loaning Liverpool players now. It's as if Gerrard feels compelled to play them even when they're not performing. That Ejaria blouse gave me cold sweats! Ojo wasn't much better. Kent was excellent but in hindsight it looks like we've overpaid to bring him in permanently but i'm sure he'll come good. If we want a top striker we are going to have to get the chequebook out.

5.) 09 Jun 2020 19:13:26
Nicedayforawalk please don’t talk rubbish Brewster is a different level from Ojo .

6.) 09 Jun 2020 20:01:54
To be honest I think what's holding us back is the lack of experience at certain parts of the season. I think we need to strike a better balance between having young promising players that will make us money and players who have enough experience to come in, hit the ground running and have the mentality required to win the league. If I had to go more one way, for this season I'd definitely say more experience than youth is required.

7.) 09 Jun 2020 22:02:26
Brewster is held in high regard down south. He is viewed as one of the best up and coming strikers in his age group . He has played and coped well in English championship scoring 4 in 11 for Swansea. I would say the championship is of way higher standard than that of the SPL. Yet again there are the same people that see young liverpool loan and just assume the boy is a favour and not a talent. I have saw the boy play and he looks a better option than the guys we are being linked with. We need to trust our scouts. I know ojo didn't work out but the boy had talent, that goal proved it. Same with ejaria also talented.

8.) 09 Jun 2020 23:01:46
I think we should forget Gerrard’s Liverpool connections they’ve given us next to nothing. Kent is a half decent player but they pulled our pants down on that deal we’ve just paid good wages for poor players like Ojo, Ejaria and the signing of Flanagan. They’ll never send the Harry Wilson’s or that up here so just drop the whole Liverpool thing and look for better more experienced players.

9.) 09 Jun 2020 23:04:19
So you’d rather a try hard player than an actual talent. basically an Andy Halliday? Will die for the shirt but not much footballing ability there. I’m not saying go for Brewster, he seems a good prospect but we need someone who’s the finished article or not far from it and that’s if Alfie leaves. In the current climate I can see it being mostly Bosmans or loans unless we ship someone out first.

10.) 10 Jun 2020 01:17:48
Just can’t get my head round why we don’t go get Dykes. Young, strong, fast, would cost buttons, could only make money on him and plus he’s terrorised ya and them this season. Really don’t see what we have to lose.

11.) 10 Jun 2020 04:46:35
bellshilllad83 Ojo and Ejaria are obviously talented lads but they weren't suited to the game here and that was obvious from the start. We don't have room for passengers at our club especially this season. I'm not saying that Brewster boy isn't a talent, i'm saying that if we want to stop the soap dodgers then we are going to need a hell of a lot more than a young Liverpool loanee with zero experience.

12.) 10 Jun 2020 08:26:44
Highlandbear I agree our obsession with Liverpool second string isn't a balanced deal Kent deal for me wasn't great. I think we should be going for players who are proven is Mirko Maric he's been mentioned on here a few times. I would be looking at investment in players like him with the euros and world cup round the corner.

13.) 10 Jun 2020 09:19:46
LMRFC, its not a case of either we sign young promising players or a player at the level of Andy Halliday. You make it sound like it's one or the other. There is a higher quality of player available to us than him but with more experience than a youngster. I'd be looking at other european markets for good players as I think if we continue to look at the English premier league then we will only get players that are looking to learn their trade as opposed to win trophies.

14.) 10 Jun 2020 10:24:13
LMRFC I’m not saying anything of the sort, we have plenty good players but none of them are in the ilk of a Barry Ferguson ie taking a game by the scruff of the neck and even a player if need be, our guys flap their arms and shake their head when teammates aren’t doing their bit we need a leader in midfield and also at CB these for me are the two most important areas to strengthen.

15.) 10 Jun 2020 11:09:48
Brewster would in my opinion come into our league as the 3rd best overall forward behind alfie and edouard. This boy is a future talent but is good enough for us and our league just now. He is a goalscorer and a talented one. Get him in with alfie and defoe and we would have 3 class striking options. Would also take the boy dykes from livi as I think he would complete our strikeforce and give us the plan B we have been missing. They 2 a back up at RB ( boy from Leicester) and a winger or 2 to push kent and hagi and we would be sorted.

16.) 10 Jun 2020 13:18:57
I don't think any of these young up and coming Academy players from England actually get coached in getting their erkies handed to them on a plate every week, our game must come as a shock to them.

17.) 10 Jun 2020 13:20:23
Nice day
Think your missing any players objectives. All fhis dying for Jersey bit OTT and totally out of date. Any player knows it's in his best interests to play to best of abilìty otherwise hell be binned sharpish.

18.) 10 Jun 2020 16:03:32
Brewster looks a class act. Bit of swag about him he’s confident.

19.) 10 Jun 2020 16:30:02
Theres absolutely no doubt the lad is talented but i just don't see the physical side being dealt with and i don't think we could afford to buy him do why bring him in to temporarily fill a gap we've had for 2 seasons now.

20.) 10 Jun 2020 19:38:40
What we really need is three Terry Hurlock/ John Brown types- physical bullies who have a bit of personality and will pull the team up when the nerves set in. Too many times if we don’t score in the first 20 minutes you can see we run out of ideas and other teams hit us on the break. Andy Halliday- I’d have kept him as when it’s not going our way he gives 110% and reminds those around him of what is to be Rangers. Rhian Brewster may well be a good young player but he needs to be strong and believe. I personally think we okay up front if we keep Morelos. Defoe is a defo- he’s capable of a hattrick in 20 mins and shows his class. We need stronger players behind these guys. And someone to stamp on Scott Browns face!

12 Mar 2020 14:31:33
Real possibility old firm game could be behind closed doors
Dependant on outcome of government meeting
How surreal would that be.

tilladie

1.) 12 Mar 2020 15:54:40
I’m sure the ban on events with more than 500 people comes into play on Monday so we should be ok.

2.) 12 Mar 2020 18:37:34
Bears infecting each other, why is that a good thing.

3.) 12 Mar 2020 18:38:43
Sturgeon said earlier it will be as of Monday.

4.) 13 Mar 2020 12:38:45
the game os OFF.

5.) 13 Mar 2020 16:16:47
lennon and broony demanding the title. wasting no time eh. lol
sporting integrity was it?

6.) 13 Mar 2020 17:09:14
The CFA I mean SFA will give it to them. We can claw 9 points back if we beat them twice and win game in hand. I hear Lennon trumping on about average points if the games don't get played the league should be void. Would they hand us a title if it was the other way about, I don't think so.

7.) 13 Mar 2020 18:06:22
Agree bellshill if they can’t complete the league it should be void as one team may have an advantage due to playing more home games or more games against top of the league opponents.

8.) 14 Mar 2020 19:29:48
There is a problem if they void this season though - if the do that, no clubs will qualify for European football so the only source of income will be home matches.

9.) 15 Mar 2020 16:24:02
Flyfifer, that would be okay, even if european footie was cancelled for one season, then we would be in the champions league, the following season, for sure. but big clubs pay big money because of euro footie.

06 Jun 2018 13:08:59
Jonny Evans apparently on the radar.

tilladie

1.) 06 Jun 2018 13:46:52
Behave

2.) 06 Jun 2018 14:01:25
Stop it. No he isnt

3.) 06 Jun 2018 14:01:39
The same Evans that leicester are in talks with and man city are interested in? Give it a rest.

4.) 06 Jun 2018 14:09:02
Not a chance on his wages

5.) 06 Jun 2018 14:11:00
who's radar?

6.) 06 Jun 2018 14:38:43
The same Johnny Evans who Man City want?

7.) 06 Jun 2018 14:40:37
3 Million to buy but agent want 6 million signing fee. 9 million i don't think so.

8.) 06 Jun 2018 14:44:35
Wages around the same as Skrtel no way we can afford.

9.) 06 Jun 2018 14:51:10
Evans is going to Liecester

10.) 06 Jun 2018 14:57:34
He's sighing for Leicester. Man City failed to bring him in January, he's on 65k a week at West Brom.

Are you sure you don't mean Gareth McAuley?

11.) 06 Jun 2018 14:59:23
cant see that happening. too much money on wages and was a city target last season. he's a premiership quality CB who won't come to the SPL.

12.) 06 Jun 2018 16:38:37
Maybe when his contract with Leicester is over and he is 36 or something aye.

13.) 06 Jun 2018 21:37:00
The same Evans that's basically signed for Leicester? I have no words f**k me! No wait did you say Johnny or Chris?

14.) 06 Jun 2018 22:40:35
Not happening for us! I Seen him at our church a few weeks ago. He was telling the vicar that he didn't think they would be moving and wanted to stay in the north west ( he Lives in Bowdon/ Hale) . He's sick of living away from home most weeks, that's why I'm surprised he's talking to Leicester. I imagined he was already lined up for Man City as the family's settled here. .

15.) 06 Jun 2018 22:59:54
More chance of signing Chris Evans

16.) 07 Jun 2018 00:28:40
Not sure it's been mentioned, but he's pish

04 May 2018 08:13:10
Stevie G has agreed to become our new boss in principle

formalised today hopefully

All happy?

tilladie

1.) 04 May 2018 08:38:21
I’m happy that he will be able to attract a higher quality of player than we have seen for at Ibrox for many years. If the rumours are true he won’t be relying on loans and frees which is great news. Is he going to be good enough to make us competitive against Celtic again? We will see

2.) 04 May 2018 09:02:33
What's wrong with freebies?
Fernando Torres is on a free👀👀

3.) 04 May 2018 11:32:35
There is nothing wrong with players on a free i was meaning he has a wider range of players to choose from if we can buy them rather than just who is available on a free.

4.) 05 May 2018 00:35:12
We have world wide massive support, locally unbelievable.
The travesty that nearly destroyed our club which is basicaly impossible never happened.
There may be people out there who hope for our demise but they forget that being a gers is by definition a matter of fact, the phoenix will rise from the ashes as all good things do.

27 Apr 2018 08:59:30
gers statement apparently planned for today

wonder what the topic is?

tilladie

1.) 27 Apr 2018 10:26:57
first time posting, got told a rumour today that hull released mcgregor and rangers will have him signed and starting on sunday. i don't know whether to beleive it because who would release mcgregor and i didn't think you could sign a free agent this late in the season.

2.) 27 Apr 2018 11:04:10
Always a friday press conference before weekend game its nothing to get excited about

3.) 27 Apr 2018 11:14:43
Statement is a different thing to a press conference.

4.) 27 Apr 2018 11:45:22
Listened to talk sport all morning. Bookie was on saying they have closed the book. Looks like it's a done deal.

I'm in two minds with this one. No experience but can attract some big names. Possible Sturridge on loan? Would love that!

5.) 27 Apr 2018 13:24:19
Sturridge is NEVER fit. And way out our price range even for a loan if we are picking up half his wages I would think, who knows thou

Happy birthday gazza👍.

tilladie

1.) 27 May 2020 13:41:53
A very happy 53rd birthday to the most talented footballer to have ever played in scotland the one and only paul gascoigne! 🎂. He was my hero and imo the greatest to have ever played for rangers.

2.) 27 May 2020 14:48:40
Not quite the greatest, an very good player
Remember he bought shame to our club as well.

3.) 27 May 2020 15:06:57
That's your opinion John25,but gazza is the greatest footballer to have ever played for rangers IMO mate!

4.) 27 May 2020 15:24:30
SGL any man who slaps his wife about brings shame on our great club.
He shamed our club FACT.

5.) 27 May 2020 15:40:41
Brian Laudrup was the most skilful Ranger for me.

6.) 27 May 2020 16:10:59
John25. I wonder how many men in Glasgow and elsewhere in Scotland have slapped their wives? Before the PC brigade start, I have never lifted my hand to a woman in my life (nor a man actually) and don't for a minute condone such violence. I am just saying, people in glasshouses and all that. ON THE FOOTBALL PITCH, I agree that Gazza was arguably the best Rangers player ever alongside Baxter, Greig, McCoist and Goram.

7.) 27 May 2020 16:16:46
Abilty wise no player i have seen comes close to Gazza. Grew up absolutely idolising the guy.

8.) 27 May 2020 16:19:41
Personal problems aside John the man was a footballing genius and I loved his time at ibrox.

9.) 27 May 2020 16:32:20
I think most of the guys were talking about the football ability John? Maybe you have something against Gazza as every time he is mentioned you have always been negative, and I do agree he had many problems which you mention, but you cannot argue he’s was some player. Simply World Class✌️👍🇬🇧.

10.) 27 May 2020 16:33:28
Laudrup was more skilful, Baxter had more guile, Gascoigne was more exciting, Wilkins had the best vision. I nearly had a coronary when John Greig in front of Laudrup! Even John Greig knows he was never in that class. Each to their own, I suppose.

11.) 27 May 2020 16:41:49
John25,gazza has severe mental health issues and is an alcoholic pal! I don't condone whatsoever any man hitting a woman but i Would hazard an educated guess that gazza's challengees contributed to this, don't you think? 🤔.

12.) 27 May 2020 17:10:17
Gascoigne had the greatest ability of anyone to wear our shirt. In his prime he could have played for any club in the world. An amazing talent that forever be spoken about alongside the greatest to have ever played the game!

13.) 27 May 2020 17:21:41
i had a few beers with Paul, when he lived in our village. actually huge respect, 3 local kids broke into his house and swam in his pool. after getting caught he said look next time just chap the door rather than break in. quite and kept himself to himself, enjoyed a few beers, bit of banter and went home. i know he had worst days behind and in front but didn't do me any harm.

14.) 27 May 2020 17:28:23
Here here C of Ibrox! 👌👍.

15.) 27 May 2020 17:56:49
SGL is defending the indefensible.

My view Baxter best by far.

16.) 27 May 2020 18:37:01
Poor show john25. A footballing legend has a birthday and you bring up negative points about him. Gazza will always be one of rangers and England's greats ever players an, all time great. Happy birthday gazza.

17.) 27 May 2020 19:00:49
Nobody is stating for a fact who is the best it’s all about opinions John. If all you remember about Gazza is his personal mistakes then you need to get over it. Stay safe mate.

18.) 27 May 2020 19:04:00
I choose to remember the hatricks, the league titles, the free kicks, the mazy runs, the old firm goals and so on.

19.) 27 May 2020 19:47:40
John I totally agree with you. I know some guys on here like sgl giving the thumb grief but no mention of his mental health issues. I do agree that talent wise totally different class from anyone else in the scottish game.

20.) 27 May 2020 19:54:33
For the record John25 jim baxter and gazza had similar off field problems incase you didn't know! They both had issues and none of us knows for definitely throughout our own lives, that we ourselves through events in our lives, not doing the same! Stay well and stay safe my friend! 🙏.

21.) 27 May 2020 19:58:23
Guys u miss the point re Gazza, but everyone entitled to there view.

22.) 27 May 2020 21:14:31
SGL I have posted elsewhere I became very friendly with Jim Baxter so I know plenty re him.
Was only in Gaza’s company a few times.

23.) 27 May 2020 22:01:04
Iłl say this Gazza great player with ball at his feet but had a pigs ear of a personal life which he's still suffering from.

23 May 2020 19:49:57

Defo looking forward to it👍.

2.) 23 May 2020 20:27:20
Cheers tilladie, will enjoy these again.

3.) 24 May 2020 09:31:04
Ah the good old days.

23 May 2020 14:14:12
Should we take a punt on lawrence shankland.

tilladie

1.) 23 May 2020 14:52:14
I would.

2.) 23 May 2020 14:57:22
I would also jyf!

3.) 23 May 2020 15:22:45
Depends on what they want for him
but If it was based on a direct replacement for Fredo: No.

4.) 23 May 2020 15:33:13
No thanks.

5.) 23 May 2020 15:36:48
I would, could be another Kris Boyd. For those who argue Boyd didn't score in the "big" games, he always scored in and won the points in the games that we've struggled in recently, Accies, St Johnstone, Hearts etc.

6.) 23 May 2020 15:45:46
I agree SirStruth and kris boyd didn't get selected to start in our majority of big games. You're correct mate, we most definitely can beat celtic, its the stupid points we lose to the so called smaller clubs is our problem. Shankland could score the goals against they teams which in turn could turn us into title winners. Far too quick folk on here write players with smaller clubs off by saying they're not good enough for us, how do you know?

7.) 23 May 2020 16:03:07
Shankland is a goalscorer in the lower leagues so was Nicky Clark. can't see then letting him go on the cheap unless strapped for cash. Could have had him free last year must have been deemed not good enough.

8.) 23 May 2020 16:17:59
As highlighted by GaryStevens, it would depend on what we had to pay for him. We will need a quality squad for next season, something we have lacked up til now and it has shown in our results post Christmas. Shankland could be used in games agains lesser clubs. However, if Morelos is to leave then we will need a proven quality striker from a better league than the Scottish Championship.

9.) 23 May 2020 17:21:41
Spot on SGL. I have been saying this all season. Lawrence Shankland would score for fun against the lesser teams. That's been our problem for a few seasons now. It's no good beating the mankey mob and end up drawing with the lesser teams the following week. That's 2 points dropped every time. Believe me they soon mount up. We need a predator in the box, and that's exactly what a player like Shankland is. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS THE FAMOUS.

10.) 23 May 2020 17:28:57
all these players we are being linked with, shankland, ferguson, dykes cosgrove, the prices being bumped around are between 10 and 12 million for the lot, let's be honest would anyone in their right minds pay that, all their clubs are bordering on skint and would play hardball, to me i think its a non starter.

11.) 23 May 2020 18:07:27
Ger4life - if we want respect we must learn to respect the 'lesser' teams who beat us or took points from us especially since the Dubai trip!

12.) 23 May 2020 18:16:59
I would of took Shankland for free when he was at Ayr, the other 3 are not going to help Rangers win the league, unless your happy with 2nd place again.

13.) 23 May 2020 20:07:44
Like the Stuck says, if you would be happy with the likes of Shankland or Hickey or Souttar or Docherty or Dykes or Boyle you'd also have to be happy with second place - or worse. They are all about two levels down from what we need to secure a league title and to sustain a run in Europe.

14.) 23 May 2020 20:10:06
guys Morelos couldn't score against the lower level teams because we couldn't get the ball to him.

its the midfield that we need to have sorted with a decent number 10 to play the killer pass.

this year shankland wouldn't have scored for fun because we wouldn't have got the ball to him.

15.) 23 May 2020 20:11:37
Not for the money he would cost no.

16.) 23 May 2020 20:12:30
I would but not 1st choice.

17.) 24 May 2020 08:11:37
Guys, our current squad got us, 2nd Place, oh wait a minute, that's not good enough, so, why are we so happy to discount other options. I know that it's all about personal opinions, but, at present, we're not good enough to win this league, and SG and RW know this, so we'll see what they come up with within a reasonable finance perspective.

06 May 2020 18:39:11
Really hope this evidence is really strong n can be proven otherwise the club are going to look really foolish.

tilladie

1.) 07 May 2020 00:54:18
Not just foolish but humiliated. Park will have no credibility.

2.) 07 May 2020 08:43:32
Yeah our Chief Executive could be the fall guy here? 🇬🇧.

3.) 07 May 2020 09:31:54
We are told its to be revealed about 10 am today Lanzarote.

If it's just pie in the sky (I think it is) it won't be just Park who will look foolish, the whole club will be a worldwide laughing stock and deservedly so.

In any case there will be no investigation as about every other club will reject it.

If we have such damning evidence it should have been made a police matter weeks ago.

22 Apr 2020 21:37:26
Just watched gazza story on netflix
Well woth a watch
God bless gazza.

tilladie

1.) 23 Apr 2020 08:47:29
Yes tilladie gazza was some player and a down to earth gentleman everyone of the 4 times i met the guy. He had a heart of gold who would do anything for you! Not to mention he was the greatest EVER footballer,
bar NONE, to have played in scottish football! A total genius and maverick of a footballer! 👏. These players only come about every so often and paul gascoigne was voted the greatest english footballer over the last 50 years, that in itself says it all! He had a natural, god gifted talent, that you CAN'T teach. He was born with it! 👍.

2.) 23 Apr 2020 12:07:56
Supercoop. I loved Gazza too but by no stretch of imagination would I ever refer to him as a 'gentleman'!

3.) 23 Apr 2020 13:28:20
Gazza never a gentleman.

4.) 23 Apr 2020 13:31:01
Flawed Genius, heart of gold and generous by nature. For me falls very much into same category as George Best and Jim Baxter. Wonderful football player.

5.) 23 Apr 2020 14:34:41
On my experiences gazza was a gentleman simple as that guys. Also a working class, down to earth bloke.

6.) 23 Apr 2020 14:37:12
I agree with you bankie and from my own personal point of view i think gazza was better than slim jim baxter but probably just behind george best by a whisker for me.

7.) 23 Apr 2020 15:22:25
SGL your experience of Gazza being a gentleman fundamentally flawed. He hit his wife regularly.

Let me be quite clear for your benefit John25.I don't condone whatsoever any man that hits their wife, partner or any woman for that matter. We've got to remember paul gascoigne has a mental health illness and is an alcoholic mate.
That contributed to hitting his wife and again i'll reiterate, i'm not condoning that whatsoever! Deep down and again i'll state IMHO, paul gascoigne is a very kind hearted,
down to earth, working class guy.
I found him as a total gentleman.
