I like Gallagher and yeah would have been good if he had stayed but simonsen is a decent keeper. similar to bell in his approach to the game. defenders will know what they should be doing with him. I don't agree with changing keepers for cup games but if we do it should be like for like. to be honest I can't remember a young keeper pushing through at Ibrox in my time. Not convinced that we want a keeper learning his trade here. its the only position I think it is very very hard to blood. unless anyone out there can name me a Rangers keeper who came through the ranks for us in recent times who did the job?

Yep as soon as I say big eck would be a great guy to have back at ibrox he gets back into management. gave me three of my favourite moments as a bluenose. being turned by ally at pittodrie. being outjumped by hately at ibrox. and winning a glorious treble for Rangers. great bloke. best of luck to him

Yeah we have not progressed as we should have under Ally. but first time under Smith we should have left Celtic for dead with a decent youth policy and didn't (remember shields and Wilson playing v ajax but not playing in the next league game at home?). this is nothing new. its just happening in much more trying circumstances. its an attitude that has to change if we are to succeed and stop the rot. i'd love to see (putting my hard hat on for protection now) McLeish back for a couple of years. he handled cuts and apart from one really really horrible year delivered.
