I don't understand what all the fuss is about Frank de Boer. He dues my exactly have a great record. Names I think could do a job are (not sure if they are possible) :
. S. Bilic
. M. Laudrup
. G. Potter
. J. Ross

Not sure how true but, heard about the possibility of Steve McLaren to give assistance/ experience to help Murty. I do think that a lot of fans need to keep wanting a "Rangers Man". This does not always work. Our greatest Rangers player John Greig didn't exactly do well or McCoist. I would rather they take time to make the right appointment.

10 Apr 2018 23:22:47
4 league titles with Ajax more than Rodgers has managed

11 Apr 2018 00:08:44
We don’t want Steve McLaren anywhere near Rangers. Poor manager and it’s no surprise that he continues to be out of work

11 Apr 2018 09:16:46
have to laugh at some people on here fdb a great rangers man he played 15 games and my granny could have won those league titles with ajax with thr resources and team he inherited the guy is not the right choice for us he is a gamble at best he lost the palace dressing room within weeks because of his big ego no mclaren or fdb not murtys biggest fan but would much rather see him stay in charge than any of those chancers getting the job

11 Apr 2018 09:34:34
FDB is not the best choice imo, I would go for
Warnock - if we can get him
Bilic - if we have the budget
Potter and Reid
Lastly if the above don’t work out keep Murty with a decent budget and mentor

11 Apr 2018 11:35:09
Can we stop saying someone to give Murty experience. It's ludicrous. So we would have a DOF, Murty and a third man telling Murty what to do? Talk about too many cooks! and i'm sure I have said before, if someone needs their hand held then it's a clear indicator they are not suitable for the job.

As a side note, folk saying Bilic, what makes him so much better than de Boer? Bilic would want a big wage, same as de Boer and I genuinely don't see what makes him stand out?

11 Apr 2018 12:49:55
hahahahhahaha don't dancy RDB but Jack Ross?!
MENTAL.

11 Apr 2018 13:51:50
Queens11

No she couldn’t

11 Apr 2018 16:12:15
How about the little general returning?

10 Apr 2018 20:19:42
what makes King think he will won the league next season couldn't touch celtic this season after spending millions then again tickets renewals are due aren't they bit of a joke statement in the paper this morn.

10 Apr 2018 21:03:55
watch this space😉

10 Apr 2018 21:36:39
bbb, all it takes is the right manager. This is the SPL we are talking about here. We unbelievablely have a random 8m to spend on players. Imagine what a good manager would do with that money in our league?

Keep the faith.

10 Apr 2018 21:44:06
Colster i'm intrigued, continue

10 Apr 2018 21:44:44
As you put it BearMode91,"what a good manager would do with that money in our league"! Who do you think our good manager should/ will be?

10 Apr 2018 23:25:25
If I’m honest I think it should be FDB.

I’m sure he is the first Ajax manager to win 4 in a row? (If he isn’t the first then he is one of the only in their history to do so) . Made Ajax an incredible amount of money being in players such as Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Daley Blind, Arkadiusz Milik, Christian Eriksen - all brought through by FDB and play for some of the worlds top clubs now.

And before anybody mentions it, a club like Palace sacking a manger after 4 losses in a row at the beginning of a season is exactly what is wrong with football these days. He was given 85 days in charge of Inter Milan, but again, they’ve had over 10 managers since Mourinho in 2010. Tells you all you need to know.

It’s not only about tactics, it’s the full package. He fits in with what the board are trying to achieve with the development squad, the new investment into the training facility for youth, Mark Allan etc. The club wants to produce talent and sell them on to make profit.

11 Apr 2018 07:34:34
Stmonkey I've put on here earlier regarding info I've been given. Still trying to get some more and I will post when I hear more. Big things happening in the summer. allegidelly!

11 Apr 2018 11:33:36
The SOL no longer exists. It's the Scottish Premiership.

11 Apr 2018 13:18:05
We don’t want fdb but we would like jack Ross, Graham potter, laundry or bilic! F@&k me some people on here

11 Apr 2018 21:20:54
If by ‘SOL’ you mean the SPL then aye, technically you’re right. I’m sure you got what I meant though?

Got an actual point to make at all or?

10 Apr 2018 18:38:42
Apparently the old firm game will be the 2nd game of the split. Hibs v Celtic will be the 1st game so I assume we will be at home to either Hearts or Kilmarnock.

10 Apr 2018 21:00:18
I have no information to say otherwise but with Celtic only needing one more win to wrap up the title, to avoid Celtic winning against ourselves, the earliest the old firm will happen will be the third fixture post split.

It's just my opinion but clearly with the SPL not wanting an old firm title decider they will not bank on Celtic winning their first post split game.

10 Apr 2018 21:59:26
Not sure what the SPFL are worried about, we know Celtic fans have a shocking history but surely they won, t be throwing coins at the ref or jumping off the top tier when they are going to win the league anyway. They are extremely ugly losers but can't see them misbehaving at that level again.

11 Apr 2018 00:12:18
They would be worried about going against police Scotland's asvice/ opinion.

11 Apr 2018 16:16:34
7 disagrees 7 apologies please

10 Apr 2018 17:03:18
What about Eddie Howe for manager. He has done fantastic at Bournemouth and fits the bill for what we need

10 Apr 2018 17:27:24
Robbie1969, now that's a decent shout, great manager. Readers here will know i want Murty but if he's not successful and Eddie Howe is made available then yes he gets my vote.

10 Apr 2018 17:46:11
I think it might be Micheal O’Neil next manager
I know he signed a new contract but contracts
don’t mean much nowadays and with jimmy nic
there already he knows the players just a thought

10 Apr 2018 18:15:57
Klinsman

10 Apr 2018 18:23:59
Eddie howe one of the most highly regarded managers in the epl wake up lads we don't have that pulling power anymore

10 Apr 2018 19:18:57
Fegie - must admit I giggled at that one myself!
Truth be told lads, the days of TOP managers queuing up for the Rangers job are gone ( for the moment) .
Sad but true.

10 Apr 2018 20:16:28
Howe?
In our dreams the guy has been consistently linked as the heir the Mr Wenger's throne.

It would be nice though ;)

11 Apr 2018 05:51:27
Robbie 1969.I posted about Eddie Howe last week and got slaughtered, but I’m with you mate. I think he’s a great young manager and would do a great job at Rangers

He’s continually linked with the Arsenal job once Wenger leaves, but I think that’s got Brenda Rodgers name all over it.

There’s no way the Arsenal board would appoint Eddie Howe after Wenger, they’ll want a manager who has Champions League experience

11 Apr 2018 13:19:23
why would they need anyone with champs league experience? arsenal won't get back into the champs league for a very long time.

12 Apr 2018 12:30:20
can we please stop throwing out random unrealistic managers, it is just complete nonsense

It will be Stevie Clarke all day long, budget related decision by Mr King

10 Apr 2018 15:42:52
Whats the chances bears, of steve mcClaren becoming the next permanent rangers manager? One way or the other, i honestly do think our next manager will be british, with an extensive knowledge of the british game! Thoughts bears?

10 Apr 2018 16:06:53
Supercoop, i think you and i have the same believes. I realise its a banter site and enjoy the banter. Bottom line is King simply cannot get this next appointment wrong. At the end of the day its our season ticket money he is investing, so spend wisely and make the correct decisions.

10 Apr 2018 18:24:40
Thought you had said you had heard De Boer was getting the job?

10 Apr 2018 12:39:31
Haven't had a payrise in 3 years.
King can gtf.

10 Apr 2018 14:07:25
I think your gripe is with your employer. not King!

10 Apr 2018 15:27:04
Unless you work for Mr King, what's your problem with HIM?

10 Apr 2018 16:55:21
Problem is my income is effectively dropping and he is putting prices up over inflation.
It's bang out of order.

10 Apr 2018 17:08:38
Colster, obviously I am not happy with my employer, a lot of us fans are in the same place. The economy is stagnant and king is punting up prices way above inflation.
It's pure arrogance. Not renewing till I get a 5% pay rise and Murty quits.

10 Apr 2018 17:26:39
big chief . I think Rangers have been fair over the last few years with ticket pricing. I believe they stayed the same price this year. We are all in the same boat but as we are demanding success unfortunately that comes at a price.

10 Apr 2018 19:50:55
I can’t see the problem with 5% rise we need investment we need better players to bring success so I’m willing to put my extra few quid in, my ticket has went up about £50 I’m Sandy Jardine rear so it’s less than £1 a week not a lot

12 Apr 2018 12:31:21
Big chief

stop going - problem solved.

10 Apr 2018 10:14:20
Hey folks,

Looking at who is fit currently who is your first 11 this weekend? i'd go:

Fods

Tav Martin Alves John

Docherty McCrorie

Candeias Dorrans Murphy

Morelos

This 11 can change from 4-2-3-1 to 5 -3-2, 4-4-2, 3-5-2 or 5-4-1 as required. I would definitely look to use Miller at some point and for more than 15-20 mins.

10 Apr 2018 12:20:40
Miller will play. Halliday may also be there

10 Apr 2018 13:45:16
Martin and alves can't play together imo. Need a bit of pace so mccrorie back in defence with either martin or alves

10 Apr 2018 13:52:55
Jboy17, i agree Miller should play from the start He will be determined to score against them and will give his all. He won't last 90mins though.

10 Apr 2018 14:17:36
I too am not confident with Alves and Martin in defence however I feel a midfield of McCrorie, Docherty and Dorrans would be less likely to be bullied and McCrorie can always fill any gaps.
I would like to play Miller but don't think we can afford to drop any of these 11.
If chasing we could remove either Alves or Martin, let McCrorie drop back and bring Miller in with Dorrans falling back to Midfield.

10 Apr 2018 15:21:36
I'd start with Holt Bluegenius

10 Apr 2018 17:41:26
Doiger I like Holt and would make the bench for me at least. He's just not got results against their midfield before. Not saying he was at fault obviously, just want a physically imposing centre. His energy later might be required though.

10 Apr 2018 18:02:23
Dorrans maybe not quite 100% yet could be a bit of a weak link n alves n Martin at th back doesn't fill me with confidence mcrorie at CB for Martin put Halliday next to doc in the middle n Miller jus behind morelos

10 Apr 2018 09:14:49
Roberto Martinez leaving Belgium job after world cup heard if deboer doesn't want the job he's the guy.

10 Apr 2018 10:26:41
If that's the case and Belgium have a decent world cup he'll be off to a club in one of the top 5 leagues mate

10 Apr 2018 11:07:33
Rwb1872,if you don't mind me asking where did you see that roberto martinez was leaving belgium after the world cup mate?

Review Of The Day 10th April 2018

10 Apr 2018 06:40:01
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 10th April 2018

10 Apr 2018 12:23:08
I was at hospitality on Saturday and an ex player was saying next manager is British.
Defo not De Boer he said. Also lots of talk Davis will be back. Same agent also said mcgregor wants back

10 Apr 2018 14:05:03
Jboy17. Everyone wants to return to Rangers. The only player i'd have back would be Davis. Hearts interested in McGregor

10 Apr 2018 17:27:24
I would want a new goalkeeper instead of fod though. Not imposing enough. He is part of very poor defence who has lost far too many poor goals last two/ three years

10 Apr 2018 01:39:00
Slaven bilic next gers manager for me! Guy has great passion done well with Croatia Beşiktaş and West Ham also out of work? Best option.

{Ed0333's Note - great shout

10 Apr 2018 06:04:02
Although i'm still prepared to give graeme murty at least another season as our manager, i have to say if its definite and murty isn't getting the rangers manager's job, then slaven bilic i also feel, would be a terrific appointment for us! As far as i'm concerned anyway, if we snared bilic as our new manager, that would most definitely send out a massive statement of intent! So very good call, jofo!

10 Apr 2018 08:52:19
So Graeme Murty's time as interim manager has seemingly been on 'a try it and buy it' basis.
Prevarication, dilly dallying and lack of direction/ impetus by our board has been there for all our supporters to see.

If, as Dave King's statement is now implying, that Murty is not being viewed as a long term answer then this season for a new manager to be preparing for next season has been lost.
Haven't the likes of Bilic, De Boer etc been free agents and available for the last few months? . (and with De Boer was available before Murty's position was confirmed for the rest of the season. )

Throw into the mix the whole Derek Mc Innes saga. what an absolute shambles.

10 Apr 2018 09:43:23
I have to agree with the way the board have conducted themselves looking for a Manger. The McInnes saga then offering Murty till the end of the season is not good. We as supporters deserved a lot better and I am not been disrpectful of Murty but he should be nowhere near being the Manager of Rangers as is our Under 20 coach!
The other lot when have put a real Manager in place with good experience in coaching and management and he has turned average players into good ones? . We have to do the same as I do believe they are there for the taking with a good Manager and a few players. Bilic a good shout but contracted to BBC for World Cup? I still think De Boer would be hungry for success? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

10 Apr 2018 11:16:05
jofo 100 per cent for me. Bilic has the experience and passion we need and he is available. No brainer for me but doubt it will happen. The board will settle for the cheap option murty and i fear we will be in same position this time next year and 10 in a row will be closer. I hope i am wrong and they show a statement of intent with Bilic or another experienced quality passionate manager to get club back to no1 where we belong
