I have Banter for you...

Celtic have a nicer kit. Lets have a Banterment!

Believable0 Unbelievable5

That will be the same kit as last year and the year before and the year before that and so on! Funny thing is you mugs buy it... WATP

Agree2 Disagree1

I suppose u think the rangers strip changes drastically every season??

Agree2 Disagree2

You can distinguish between rangers strips season to season

Agree2 Disagree0

Don't kid yourself on mate! So u can distinguish between plain blue season to season haha.. No teams traditional strip ever changes that much!

Agree0 Disagree1

Am a Teddy Bear with wrinkles and short grey hair, every year Rangers put out the same shirt and that's not fair, Celtic with their bumble bee strip and different ideas leave this old bear in rage with tears.

Come on Rangers show a bit of Imagination

WIZARD

Agree1 Disagree1

Nike make the best strips! Umbro is cheap crap lol

Mate matt Jarvis was linked with Liverpool in January and I think the price at the time was 7/8 mill so we have no chance there , wishful thinking

I don't understand people , we are in the spl which isn't going to attract the bigger names in our game , I don't think any decent player from any big clubs in Europe would come , I don't think the prospect of going to Inverness in December will be appealing , we need to get fringe players from team in the epl , I know we all want the superstars but they days are gone , so let's get real here , Conway , cammy bell , are a must for me as squad players , need a midfielder that can score 10-15 goals a season and another wide player and 2 centre halfs , I will give ally my backing as he knows what the club is about But he has to spend wisely and hit the ground runing

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Finally a rangers fan with sense unlike the ones talking rubbish on the viila page and good news ceullar is coming back your way god knows why you all rate him so highly

Agree1 Disagree2

Cueller has been played out of position for the majority of the time he has been at Villa, as a central defender he was outstanding for us and im sure if he had been given a run at centre back then he would have been one of Villas top players, COME HOME CARLOS! {Ed001's Note - to be fair he did get a run at centre back, he was such a top player that Villa went out and bought Dunne and Collins to replace him.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Most of the stupid transfer rumours on this forum are put up by fans of 'that other Lot' , I suppose to make their La la fantasy transfer targets less idiotic.

As for Ceullar at Villa , you have never played him in his right position.

Try and watch the Fiorentina v Rangers in the Europa semi final , He was immense that night at Centre back , his true position.
BF

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree but the future I think for us is getting the hot prospects in europe and beyond before the Big Guns do.
Hopefully Cueller comes back, as you said, that semi final every sentence from the commentator end with, "Cleared by Cueller...again"

I really like the look of this lad Hemed Tommer (Spelling*). With him and Jellybeans up front and McGregor, Cueller and Bartley or Wilson in Defence, and one top quality midfielder brought in, Celtic shouldn't get a sniff. Especially since their best midfielder is looking to get away.

I can't understand guys Like Kayal, who have been plucked from obscurity and been given the chance to showcase their talent, yet as soon as wee snifter of the EPL comes along they start greetin about more wages or they're off, Big Bougherra is a wee big guilty of it too, but it usually gets blown out of proportion by the media. I think some of these players should have awee bit more loyalty for the old firm especially since we are a direct link and proven stepping stone to the EPL

you gotta here this one sitting in restaurant wiv our lass and just heard scott brown say to one of his party if rangers win another title im looking at moving to the premiership ....how commited is he ......

Believable1 Unbelievable2

M8 scott brown is not good enough for the EPL! He is at best a thug and would no doubt get sent off most of the time

Agree4 Disagree1

I support Rangers and think Scott Brown would walk into most EPL teams out with the top 6 teams easily.

Agree0 Disagree2

No chance scott brown is pants man.... definetly not a captian. I really do not rate him atawl.

Zander Diamond to rangers aye right ok ..

Nobody remember that he got fined and severly told off by aberdeen for the comments he published about Rangers supporters and protestants on bebo?

He is a bitter bitter Celtic fan there is no way he would sign for Rangers and i know this as he is currently courting my cousin.

Plus is is common knowledge how much of a celtic fan the guy is jeeez.

maurice ross, nacho novo, steven smith and chris burke - why would we sign these players ? they were bit part players at best first time round. novo had 2 good seasons then was a bench warmer - were building a team for 4 in a row not signing duds who couldnt cut it first time round. to the guy who said Kevin Muscat would be signing - the guy is retired and a coach - not to mention guff when he was here. Cmon blues be optimistic but be realistic - 4-5 new signings 2 centrebacks, 2 midfielders and a striker. whittiker, davis and mcgregor will sign new contracts - bougherra to leave.

This site is just full of Celtic fans putting s**t made up rumours about Rangers.

{Ed010's Note - I think you are doing a disservice to other Rangers fans by claiming that the site is full of Celtic fans' postings but I do I agree that there are some "rumours", which are posted by Celtic supporters but there is absolutely nothing wrong with them doing that. While some of their "rumours" may appear to us to be a little far fetched, so are some of the rumours, which are posted by Rangers fans.

I may be alone in this view but I do enjoy reading replies from Rangers fans, to these "Celtic" rumours and have a chuckle at the quick witted banter that ensues, from both sides. The site is here to encourage some light hearted banter between Rangers fans and with fans of other clubs.

I can give you an absolute guarantee that I have and will continue to delete posts that contain speculation that is just not a possibility (Messi or Ronaldo to Rangers etc) and where there is no possibility of realistic banter as a result of it's publication. Similarly, posts that are created for no other reason than to create hatred or tension (Lennon to replace McCoist as manager etc) are also deleted.

A recent post that I suspected was from a Celtic fan but where I decided to publish it, was the rumour surrounding Zander Diamond being a digning target for us. There is absolutely no chance of that transfer happening because he simply isn't good enough but I published it hoping that it would create some light hearted banter and it did.

Just try to remember that this site is meant to be a light hearted one and nothing should ever be taken too seriously. Cheers Ed10

I watched most of the Crystal Palace highlights from last year and Danns is a player who stood out for them, good athletic attacking centre mid. He would be a good player here, perhaps as a rotation player, as long as we don't give him more than 15k a week before he proves himself up here.

10 Jun 2011 18:29:39
why do folk on here want ex players like novo, Ross and Burke ?

I thought we were building a team adding in some some youth and experience - sorry but novo had 2 great seasons then warmed the bench most of the time and has done the same in Spain. can't even believe someone said Maurice Ross would replace whittiker. Ross is the worst player we produced. Burke just isn't good enough to win a place. can't believe some person on this said Kevin muscat was coming back aswell - get a grip. look to the future, with around 4-5 NEW players. whittiker, Davis and mcgregor will all pen new deals and we'll sell boughy . be realistic but optimistic bears

every single day rangers r linked with defender after defender.should they not be looking to strengthen other positions instead of just defence.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Nah cos u will need a good defence next season trust me

Agree1 Disagree2

Just because Rangers are getting linked with defenders on this and other websites doesn't mean that they are not trying to sign players in other positions. Rangers cannot control what people post.

Agree0 Disagree0

The likelihood is Bougherra will leave and Weir may go to leaving us with no centre backs, so we need to at least 3 CBs.

GovanFR

Buggerra should be gone weir another year older so of coarse we need center halfs

Good to see our ed runs this site the way it should be. The Celtic ed (who I assume is a Celtic fan) doesn't seem to have any rules. Every post is virtually the same, and plenty anti- Rangers comments go up.

GovanFR

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Our ed doesnt allow anything an its wrong he is deciding its a disgrace the way he runs it

{Ed010's Note -I have always stated that I will publish any post that is made in accordance with the site administrator's rules, even when it is a negative comment about me.

The reality of the situation is this, there are hundreds of posts that are sent into the Rangers site and I do my best to publish as many as possible but surely you must realise that certain things are out of bounds. Racial and sectarian language, derogatory and defamatory terms, are not accepted in the big bad world and certainly are not accepted on here. Any Rangers fan, who wishes to post anything about any other club, their manager or their players, are free to do so but it has to be done in an acceptable way. I am sorry if you don't agree with those terms but there must be some sort of control because some posts are so deeply offensive. Feel free to comment on any of the above or point out which areas, you think I am being to strict. Cheers Ed10

Agree1 Disagree1

Just to make it clear, I was saying you run this site in a better way than the Celtic editor does his. All their posts seem to repeat the same stuff and he doesn't seem to mind people openly criticisng Rangers, in fact he's pitched in a couple of times. Keep up the good work ed.

GovanFR

{Ed010's Note -Thanks for the clarification GovanFR and I am sorry that I obviously misinterpreted your post. I just want our pages to be a place where anyone can visit and will want to post a rumour or pass an opinion on a topic, without the fear of suffering a character assisination, simply because their views do not align with the mainstream view. We all need to remember that people of all ages can and do visit our pages and we all need to show some responsibility in ensuring that the language used is acceptable to that end. Thankfully, most of this week's posts have adhered to this principal and I would like to take this opportunity, through your thread CovanFR, to publically thank you for that. Cheers Ed10

where do bursaspor get there valuation from? 600 k for whitaker? i think ally shud put a bid of 100k for there highly rated forward insua! lol

Exactly coz he aint worth that

I think they should hav took it he hasnt been good

Agree0 Disagree2

Two comments from the bitter fans of the perrenial runners up i see

Agree1 Disagree0

Considering our "mediocre squad" i think whittaker has been very consistant and pitched in with more than a few goals, needed when none of the strikers at the time were on fire, that coming from him being played as a defender when he played midfield for hibs. needs to be cut some slack

i really have to laugh when people comment about maxi morelaz height , its funny 2 rangers best stars were under 5ft5
cast back to klos the smallest goalkeeper , he wasa fan tastic keeper before his injurie , also nacho novo was tiny but still played best football and still a talent in fans eyes , ok he might not be the best at corners but he has wicked feet on him

Both were actually well over 5ft5 in fact was just short of 6ft at 5:11. The point is, a player who is 5:2 may struggle in the SPL. However Messi is small and strong but I doubt moralez is as good lol.

GovanFR

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Not as gd.. but hes still classs.. attcking wise he would run circles around that awfull celtic defence.. but maxi is gonna have bogger clubs than us sniffing him trust me!

Is it just me who thinks the bids from Bursaspor for Steven Whittaker are a complete joke??? I thought around £450k for Miller was a complete joke, but £600k for Whittaker, he is worth at least £2.5m IMO, in saying all this, I think we should still trust Super Ally to laugh off these bids!!!

Madjid Bougherra to Arsenal in part exchange for Kyle Bartley, I think this would be a very good deal for both clubs, plus do we really want Bougherra at Ibrox when he wants to leave. Bring back Cuellar!!!

10 Jun 2011 13:14:41
I'm not a fan of keeping players who say they want to go, so let bougy go. His forays up front have endeared him the light blue faithful, but lets remember he was a replacement for Cueller when we didn't have any money. He came from charlton reserves and we've made him famous so if you want to go bougy, then do one. I've got faith in the scouting system thats brought decent defenders to us consistantly for years . Talk of whittaker going for 450,000 to 1,000,000 is a joke, Bursaspor took advantage of our situation last year and obviously haven't read the papers. Regardless of what people think of him, he can play many positions, is relatively injury free and scores goals. Also, he looks much better with a decent right midfielder in front of him rather than a striker playing out of position on the wing. As for the captain position, if weir goes or only plays a few games, i'm fairly sure it'll be mccullough, he's a die hard ranger, who Walter reckoned was player of the year last season, and thats including being out for a few months. I still think we need two decent centre halves, a left back and a couple of attacking midfielders. I think Bartley, Cueller , Wallace, Conway, Eagles..job done
Bazbear

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think most of us who have common sense realise that mate lol tottally agrea with the whittaker bid.. hes worth at least 3 million!

Agree1 Disagree1

I totaly agree to be honest if they want to go because i go to the games and im a st holder and i dont want to play for the badge they play for the money so i think we should let bougherra go bring in someone who loves the club cuellar he only left us because the spanish coach told him he didnt have a future with them if he played in the spl , bartley you can just tell this guy is a rangers fan the way he runs out the tunnel to clap the fans people like tht

Agree1 Disagree0

Gotta laugh at people thinking whittaker is worth loads even if he had not got 1 year left he still wouldnt be worth 2-3 mill take the money an run he is overratted rubbish

K

And i suppose you're gonna tell us Mark Wilson is worth 5 million? Jog on! lol

Really is some rubbish being posted on here.

We will not get Berbatov. We will not get Bendtner. We will not get Tiote. We will not get Wilshere. We will not get Santa Cruz. We will not get Evans. We will not get Gattuso. We will not get Dorrans. We will not get Fabio.

We can't afford any of these players fees and/or wages are far too high.

Our realistic targets for now are Cuellar, Goodwillie, Wilson (Loan), Bartley (Loan), Vaughan, Frings, Hamed and Wallace

First realistic and accurate post all day, wish all the timewasters would just keep there thoughts to themselves.

Not to mention his AVERAGE season. The few games Bartley played at the back he looked fast, calm and safe as houses, including in europe.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I know this is a weird suggestion but does anyone reckon we should try and sign usain bolt. He wants to pursue a career in football, preferably man utd but he said he's just waiting for a call from someone. Wages may be high but if within budget he would provide the pace for jelavic but the skill I'm not sure.

Monk {Ed001's Note - I remember him saying about being a bit lazy in training, his stamina would probably be terrible too, it would be a huge risk to take. But, on the plus side, can you imagine how many shirts he would sell?}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

He'd sell shirts for fun and be a great sub to bring on last 20 minutes. but can he do anything apart from leave you eating dust? walcott can eat up the grass but he's nothing to write home about.

Agree0 Disagree0

His stamina would be horrific, it would probably take him a couple of years to adapt, essentially he'd be swapping 100/200 meters for 8.5k. He is built for explosive speed and trains for those 9 seconds

I wouldn't want the guy in football, he is too much of an icon for athletics and will probably go on to be one of the greatest all time athletes, if he swapped sports it would overshadow just how much of a legend he is.

Monk are u drunk ya daft clown? Stop talking garbage!

ed Can we only sign player on loan or free agents since the Scottish window doesn't open until the end of the month??

{Ed010's Note -This is my understanding and if I'm wrong, I'll soon be corrected. The transfer window opens on 1st July of any given year, hence the reason why most players contracts expire on 30th June.

At this very moment, Rangers can sign any player who is "out of contract" and that includes any player who has been released from their contract.(eg Chris Burke's contract with Cardiff expired on 30th June but an agreement was reached between Burke and Cardiff to mutually terminate it, thus he became a free agent and could sign for any club outwith the transfer window)

Rangers cannot sign anyone on loan until the transfer window opens on 1st July, which is when they can also sign any player for a transfer fee and that includes players from within and outwith the UK.

Due to an agreement between the English FA and the Scottish FA, clubs are allowed to "unofficially" sign players, whose contract expires on 30th June but who haven't been released, from their contract by their club (eg Craig Conway at Dundee Utd). The clubs prepare the new contract, have the new player sign it but hold the registration until the transfer window opens on 1st July. Clubs who do this usually inform their fans of the "new signing" almost immediately.

transfer window opened yesterday, remember our season starts about 3 weeks early this time.I emailed the SFA asking the date the the other week. {Ed001's Note - domestic transfers are different and each FA has its own date for it, Ed010 was referring to the international window.}

There are about a dozen Twitter pages for Gattuso and this one only has one tweet!!! I smell poo me thinks!!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Fair point, not too clued up about twitter and still half cut!
Would be nice to see him get the chance at ibrox he never got the first time around though. don't think it's that far fetched, wouldn't be surprised if it happened

Not really rumour guys but I'm surprised Tom hateley hasn't been linked with us this summer not only for his obvious ibrox links but he's genuinely a good player and still at a young age and is very versatile what's your thoughts??

Tom Hately is an average spl player at best bud. Would much rather sign his team mate keith lasley who bossed the middle of the park every game againt us last season!

To the guy that said whittaker is terrible... He had the 2nd highest amount of assists for rangers this season.... no bad for a guy that cant cross a ball ehh?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

And he scored into double figures the season before last also, i really dont know what the issue is, i feel he is up to the job of playing for rangers but people are welcome to their opinions as the only one that matters is allys

Agree1 Disagree1

He had a great season the one before last but he was playing right midfield which he suits best but this season he played right back and he cant defend and there is no way he could get a game above davis naismith or weiss at right midfield

Agree0 Disagree1

Im pretty sure when Whittaker came in at CB when we were struggling for numbers he did a good job! I know he can get caught sometimes but so does papa Weir.Steven is a very versatile player and i would be sorry to see him go, from what i have heard though Super Ally has no plans to sell so this makes me happy! It looks as though Bougherra is on his way out. Looking back on his time with us, he came to us as nothing, he looked a good replacement for Cuellar, the fans loved his surges forward. BUT he has shown a poor attitude, he repeatedly came back late from international duty and his discipline at times has been poor. Defensively he is not as good a Weir, and certainly not as good as Cuellar. Funny we didn't really miss him when Whittaker was at CB. I say it's time for him to move on, and I think he will flop in the Premiership.

I tend to agree Govan. He's been fine in the SPL but never really got a good look at him in Europe due to injuries, suspensions, no shows etc. Think he'll be found out in the Prem! bottom line your not going to get much better than the gers in world football and if he cannae see how lucky he is to be here then away you go Bougy. All the best though

Although I agree with those who say Whittaker has been an excellent servant to us, especially having played so many positions, I do see where people are coming from when they criticise his defending at times. He is good when he keeps things simple and focuses on his task, but sometimes goes wandering and gets caught with the ball inside him for a winger to chase. This happened in particular against Hearts in our 4-0 win toward the end of the season, when David Templeton gave him a torrid time in the first 20 minutes. He also got caught out a few times against Bursaspor and Valencia at Ibrox by ball watching and allowing the ball to float over his head. However, I stress that I WOULD NOT sell Stevie. These errors can be easily ironed out and the positives from him last season and since he came to us by far outweigh the negatives.

Another point I'd like to make is with regard to the next Captain. Now, the popular choice seems to be Lee McCulloch, and while I don't doubt his credentials for the job, I wonder if it would make more sense for Ally to choose a younger captain, someone who could lead the club for the next 10 years as it's the beginning of a new era under Super Ally. Under these circumstances my choice would be Stevie Naismith, with Allan McGregor as vice. I think Naisy has the attitude, he isn't afraid to moan and shout at players if he feels they aren't playing to an acceptable level. The captaincy wouldn't change him much despite being young, and he reminds me of a young Barry Ferguson in that sense, who took the captaincy in his stride.

Any thoughts on my two points ed?

Cheers.

Steven. {Ed001's Note - I think both make sense, I especially wonder about giving the captaincy to McCulloch, he just doesn't have that strut that is needed, if that makes sense. He doesn't seem to lead the team, not in the way a captain should anyway.}

The new captain will be lee mcculloch, Alan mcgregor or steven davis if weir dosent sign a new contract or as ive heard a lot about signs for Aberdeen
