James Tarkowski

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new player profile about, James Tarkowski

10 Jun 2018 18:50:21
Are we looking at Tarkowski

10 Jun 2018 23:23:54
Did he pull a funny face?

10 Jun 2018 17:53:30
I still think Alves has a place in our squad. SG will come with new ideas and someone like Alves can't be dropped. Don't know his wages but will. Assume he is up there in the highest paid, but still think he is that no nosense defender we need. Pair him next to someone with ability and that defence will seal itself. Shagger in goal makes me feel more comfortable any way. Let the midfield play the football. Let the defenders keep the ball away from the goal.
Apologise, hot weather and alcohol and all I can think about is bring on the first competitive game to see what SG can do. 🇬🇧😎

10 Jun 2018 18:20:01
Spot on fintytint! Said this on these rumours pages all along mate!
Bruno Alves is the best centre half at ibrox and imo we should most definitely be keeping him!

10 Jun 2018 18:42:47
Also I want to buy a strip that's money goes to the club with Alves on the back.

10 Jun 2018 18:44:13
If I’m honest I really hope we sign better younger and fitter players who can play a high pressing game, but we’ll see

10 Jun 2018 18:45:48
Bruno Alves is crocked and cannot be available to play on a ongoing basis. V Good player at his best but not up to it any longer.

10 Jun 2018 18:58:38
Bankie, what do you mean Bruno Alves is crocked? Does the Portugal manager know this?

10 Jun 2018 19:09:10
If Bruno is injured why is he going to Russia?

10 Jun 2018 19:41:03
Id be happy with bruno and goldson next year. Still need to bring in at least one more cb esp if cardoso leaves

10 Jun 2018 21:17:18
I think with the world cup this year Bruno Alves didn't give 100% in fear of being crocked IMO, but if he's still with us next season I think you will see a different attitude!

10 Jun 2018 23:30:34
If we can become a more solid unit think Alves along side goldson could be good. I still think cardoso deserves another shot as I do think he has potential so if we can get one more real decent centre back we will have 4 good options to chose from but definitely think Alves should stay and I do think when Gerard is assessing the squad he would want Alves to stay.

11 Jun 2018 06:48:11
I’d rather have Konterman or Svensson than Cardoso, it’s sole destroying watching a centre half that can’t head the ball or tackle.

11 Jun 2018 09:34:26
Hollow55

Konterman was awful however what a strike against them in the cup

11 Jun 2018 11:44:13
Both alves and Cardoso are rubbish
stop kidding on now

11 Jun 2018 11:53:06
We'd kill to have a player of the quality of Konterman, there is no better defender in the Scottish game at the moment.

It's not even close, multi capped dutch international

11 Jun 2018 12:59:54
Konterman is quality

jesus what is going on?

11 Jun 2018 13:17:23
ArthurD - yeah I’ll never forget that after them cheering his name in the line up. Awful player but great goal! (P. s. do you think it was a clearance up the park? 😂😂😂)

11 Jun 2018 22:11:42
To everyone who is rubbishing Alves, think back to the last game of the season at Easter road, 3 down after 20 odd minutes, Alves comes on and totally re-organises the Rangers defence, starts to dominate the game and scores a world class free kick. what more do you want, maybe if he was playing with better players around him instead of shite players then we wouldn't have conceded as many goals

10 Jun 2018 14:51:37
read a post about safe standing last week and would like to say in my opinion if it goes ahead ( hope so ) no way can it be in the east or west enclosure for the atmosphere at matches it has to be either bottom broomloan or Copland or corner from govan into Copland if it was in the main stand tv would never show any extra effort from fans with banners etc and should be in front of dugouts . Also I think it would be good to show banners for players/ nationalities think that's something club 1872 could get involved in with supporters clubs / Union bears?

10 Jun 2018 19:34:40
dont want safe standing stadium needs updating badly, get rid of screeens fill in corners make us a 60,000 stadium. not many clubs can say match that, were miles behind stadiums down in england, something that has to addressed in time

Londonjock

Unfortunately we don’t have the money to do that

Underrated Premier League XI

10 Jun 2018 14:11:09
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Underrated Premier League XI

10 Jun 2018 13:49:16
Can Kris Boyd not talk about um. Kilmarnock for a change.

10 Jun 2018 16:06:52
He gets paid to talk about rangers though, not many people would buy a paper to read about killie.

10 Jun 2018 12:33:05
If you lived through 9 in a row years. You will probably have seen great players like Gazza and Laudrup playing for Rangers but my favourite player was always Jorge "the hammer" Albertz. Wathing clips of his play. Powerhouse midfielder who drove forward and had a bullet left peg. Exactly the type of player we have not had in years.

10 Jun 2018 13:26:00
Certainly were lucky with midfielders in that era and just after albertz, gazza, reyna, gio and tugay to name a few compare them with holt halliday and the likes and we can see how times have changed

10 Jun 2018 13:26:54
Good player but nowhere near as good sac Gazza and Laudrup.

10 Jun 2018 13:38:03
Yea that sort of quality cost us 4 million all them years ago don't know what that would be in today's market values so am pretty sure it's out of our price range for a similar player!

10 Jun 2018 13:57:40
Not the greatest ever Ranger but is still my favourite too 👍

10 Jun 2018 14:23:20
Yeah you look at the free kicks that are wasted now, when you got a free kick back then and alberz stepped up you knew something was going to happen, what a left foot he had

10 Jun 2018 14:32:04
There will never be another Albertz. A unique player and the hardest shot of all time. Wow!

10 Jun 2018 16:48:54
Aye big Albertz broke a few seats during the warm up in the Copland front where I used to sit, what a left foot he had on him

10 Jun 2018 21:08:53
Great player and a genuinely nice guy

10 Jun 2018 11:19:09
Morning Bears. Sorry, I think I posted this before but forgot to check for answers! Any idea how our boys did in the Toulon tournament? I understand that the two McCrories, Burt and Middleton were in the squad. I see we finished fourth losing to Turkey on penalties in the third place play-off.

10 Jun 2018 12:21:18
Watched all the u21 games my young neighbor billy gilmour done well considering his age picked up young player of the tournament plus now holds the record for the youngest player to play in the tournament so proud of him and do expect him and his younger brother to flourish in the game

10 Jun 2018 15:39:24
His younger brother is apparently slightly ahead of where Billy was at at his age. Motm performance in schools Scottish cup final. Billy is an outstanding wee player and I just hope he doesn’t get washed up in the numbers that Chelsea have.

10 Jun 2018 08:33:24
To me 30 is still young enough and surely Wallace should be good enough with his height and mobility to play in the center of defence. he's passionate about our club and if you think something is wrong why not voice your opinions, the silent ones who don't care are to me the real problem.

10 Jun 2018 09:54:49
There were lots of posters complaining that Wallace was not vocal enough as captain then the minute he rips into his team they want him out and are happy that he was fined. We should be sticking by our captain.

10 Jun 2018 10:47:07
I agree with you, Jyf! Some of our supporters are far too quick in turning against the likes of lee wallace, when things haven't went according to plan! They never fully look to in this case, what wallace has given to the club! Now in the first hint of something not going to plan they castigate him and want him thrown out on the scrapheap! Short memories and fickle, that's the way i'd describe that sort of thinking!

10 Jun 2018 11:37:56
No matter the team or player, disharmony has a devastating effect on morale and performance.

The role of captain is to lead by example and set a high standard of performance and commitment to the club.

My read on the story is that Wallace and Miller fell below the required standard of behaviour and showed contempt for the manager in front of the team.

Similarly, Wallace’s performances before injury were less than inspiring.

Loyalty in itself is not enough

10 Jun 2018 11:39:14
Sorry guys I don’t remember Wallace having great games against the smellies . a lot of his performances were very suspect at times especially his defensive duties. Non of us are privy to what went on or what happened or was said . I take it must have been serious as Kenny millar seemed to be sitting on dave kings knee when millar had a tat with Pedro. So it must have been extraordinary to spoil that relationship with the chairman? No

10 Jun 2018 12:01:31
It's pretty obvious that either Wallace are Miller were leaking stories to jackson. It was no surprise that Millers agent came out last week and said Miller should of got job instead murty.

10 Jun 2018 12:23:39
Personally i don't Wallace would leak anythin tae jackson

I have always stood by lee and always will for what he has done for our club an he is still our captain an i hope he still is next season too and even gets new deal

10 Jun 2018 13:45:27
36thulsterdivision

Can you categorically confirm that’s true about the leaking of stories to Jackson?

10 Jun 2018 13:51:43
Lee Wallace spat the dummy out because, although he was fit, Murty didn't pick him, hence the reason for the fall out.

10 Jun 2018 14:21:41
No goalie the reason was a 4-0 humpin by them when some of our players looked disinterested and others went missing. If Rangers had won would Wallace still have shouted at the players and murty?

10 Jun 2018 15:11:41
Jyf, i hear you. Would we of lost 4-0 if Wallace was playing?

10 Jun 2018 20:38:44
Would we have lost if murty had played mcorrie in midfield
