I can't believe McCoist hasn't resigned, no one is even defending (pardon the pun) him with any conviction any more, time for a one game boycott to show Green we are not happy with the management and that we are still an important consideration when making decisions about Rangers.

Believable18 Unbelievable6

He is going to stay just so he can say he won something, even thu div 3 isn't anything really, he dosnt want to be a big failure and have nothing. Which he actually is as he knows nothing about coaching or running a club

Agree13 Disagree1

Please no boycotts,, we don't want to humiliate Ally, they would just love that wouldn't they? Ally will know when the time to go is, I hope, probably when the club have left this division,

Agree6 Disagree14

Look at the big picture, blind loyalty will do more damage!

Agree3 Disagree2

If by they you mean Celtic fans then no. I have no wish to see Sally, or anyone else humiliated.
(Ntw he's doing a good job of that himself already).

Putting formations to one side and ignoring whether or not Ally can instill fear into his players the one thing that strikes me is he is 50 and is, as far as I can see, the third oldest manager in the division. Has he the experience of a 50 year old manager? Nope. Sure he was Smith's number two in two jobs but that is different. The problem is will there be a learning curve you would expect of a relatively rookie manager? I put it down to one thing, the wilderness A Question Of Sport years.

While your Lambert's, Butcher's, McLeish's and Strachan's of the world were taking jobs, taking other jobs, getting sacked, dusting themselves down, hopefully better prepared for the next one Ally was cosying it up with Sue or commentating on games. He'll never get those years back, nor does he have the experience of those years, highs and lows, to draw on now when needed the most.

It reminds me very much of Shearer, wanted one job and one job only, made an arse of it, end of. Does anybody see Ally wanting to try his hand at say Parick or Dumbarton after this? Because I don't. It's a rather selfish attitude to be honest, filled with inner-belief but neither of them want to put in the hours, the experience to be "the best manager they can be". (With a CV of Colchester's and Stenhousmuir's under their belt. ) Pure and simple they want to be Newcastle manager and Rangers manager. But as most of you seem to be voicing that takes more than being a fan/goalscoring legend.

Believable21 Unbelievable1

I remember when Ally was making A Shot at Glory he was making comments about Hollywood and an acting career but he didn't realise that for the big acting career bar a few exceptions you need to work at your craft and learn from the bottom.

Maybe the guy had it so lucky going from top footballer to top media pundit that he thought he could just do anything he wanted and be a big success.

He was no actor and he's no manager. please leave at the end of the season Ally.

Agree13 Disagree0

What have Patick or Dumbarton done to deseve Ally?

Agree8 Disagree0

I don't know
is he seems acting like a manager or managing like an actor

Was at the game yesterday and it was truly woeful. Alexander holding out for a new contract. Go now. Not worth more than a grand a week in my eyes. The Greek right back shirks every 59/50 challenge. The Brazilian number 3 just points and shouts and contributes next to nothing. Black is a liability and a constant worry that we will be reduced to 10 men. McCoist constantly playing guys out of position. Naismith wide on the right again and this constant punt and hope is actually making the young guys worse. heggarty is learning from poor coaches. The whole back room team should go and have the decency to take nothing more from their contracts. The fans will not stay in numbers if they keep getting subjected to this crap.

in all the fuss and all the commotion no ones noticed the mysterious vanishing of world record fans, 34,000 only last week we where told the biggest attendance figures in britain let's build a bigger stadium fill in the corners lower the pitch we need more seats. seems theirs no need for spending million to create more space just keep ally as manager my reckoning is that's 18,000 spare already another few weeks and that could rise to 30,000 no probs

Believable25 Unbelievable9

Are u talking about yesterday there was just under 45000 last week.

34, 400 according to offical figures

Agree12 Disagree1

Read the post wrong but I don't think it's the last time we will see 45000 at Ibrox this season.

Agree0 Disagree9

Looks lik the fans are getting fed up with the rubbish being served up at Ibrox. How many games have been enjoyable this season? You can't expect the fans to keep turning up watching the same rubbish week in week out. I wouldn't be surprised to see a crowd under 30,000 before the season ends

Agree14 Disagree0

Apologies I said 34,000 missed the other 400 ill except that who am I to disagree with professional seat counters but next year youll be asked to pay spl prices to watch the same rubbish so it should be a lot more easier for us all to count the seats more accurately

Agree6 Disagree1

34,000 attendance, but how many paid full price. ?

the account show average ticket income at £15!!?

Something does not add up.

Agree4 Disagree1

I know we all went in great numbers to show solidarity but this is pushing it too far. How long can we go on, paying money to see rubbish? If it doesn't pick up, I can't see me going back, week after week to watch this lot. We have been humiliated enough off the park, now on it too.

The board will not sack him unless the fans demand it and force it. The remaining games this season should be used competitively by the new manager. To assess who is worth saving as rejuvenated players after Ally.
He needs to put the club first b4 himself and resign. But I reckon he's too selfish. Ally first club second attitude.

Believable19 Unbelievable4

Thats unfair, he has done so much for Rangers, although I agree the end is nigh, He will know what's going on, and when to walk, he may even have spoken about it, and also Walter will let him know if it affecting his status Tommyblue

Agree0 Disagree8

@1, surely his status is the least of his worries. If he has learned anything over the last year, surely it is that some people believe that you can buy abstract things like status, history, goodwill,.

It's not all doom and gloom, no win bonus this week so Ally only made £17800 this week as did the two clowns that stand beside him every week. Lol!

Believable15 Unbelievable6

I would pay the three amigos that amount of money to leave the club. They do not have a clue.

Green saying its a sh**e team yet he has signed them all up on long term contracts, £7k a week most of them!
On top of all that he's promised the fans he'll give ally a 25 year contract!
No wonder Ibrox is a laughing stock.
Stadium enhancements and bars when shares issue revenue is being used to prop up an insolvent outfit.

mccoist blaming the players, you signed them ally its your fault you pick the team 1

Believable33 Unbelievable5

10 Mar 2013 15:11:43
ally or the players whos to blame? let me ask you a question take rangers out of the equation ( and the 3rd ) if ally could choose to manage any team he choose this year in the 3rd and work withing that clubs budget but could pick any team he wanted would he have won the league working within a 3rd division budget

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Mr Greene is a con artist of the highest order,, he needed McCoist on board in order to win over the fans thus affording him the opportunity to execute his treachery unabaited. Stevie Wonder could have guided Rangers to the 3rd division title this year but Greene needed a Rangers man of the highest calibre to con the Rangers legions into parting with their hard earned whilst he put his plans to fleece all and sundry into place. the fact that it could destroy McCoist is neither here nor there in the greater scheme of things. this is all a con and you can bet your bottom dollar that the current manager will be the first casualty of a war that will ultimately be waged against Rangers Football Club by a mercenery that cares not a jot for it's history or future. just making a financial killing at it's expense.

Agree19 Disagree6

I doubt it. In all honesty he'd more likely finish bottom.

And any other manager in that division would skoosh the title with Ally's resources.

Sorry Ally but as a manager you just don't have what's required.

Agree13 Disagree3

N1 we ell knew cg would need someone like ally to get US to back his plans everybody keeps telling us cg is ready to bolt with the pay we have heard it from you all so IF it does happen you can say I told you so but do you not get fed up telling us this same story cheers

ally mccoist my hero. but look at managers like fergie, stein, busby, shankly, clough, smith. they had a bit of awe, fear, authority. Ally doesn't have that unfortunately. I still cannot believe yesterdays results. stirling won 9. 1 I thought we would do that half a dozen times this season, yet no where close. we are playing against some of the worst teams in uk. The current rangers players are not fit to call themselves rangers players. but ally must take responsabilty for over age foreign dross. signings. youngsters and players brought from other divisions could do no worse. as for playing one up front, well THAT SAYS IT ALL

Believable24 Unbelievable3

You missed lennon in that list you slate him for his antics at the sideline but that's fire my son the fear of losing what has the legend sally got

If there is a press conference on Monday I do hope it is the announcement that super Sally has left the building. I agree with the ED though I very much doubt it : (

Agree14 Disagree3

As much as I would like too see somebody else in job I think were stuck with ally until next january we can't actually play any players we sign until jan 14. I think we will continue to struggle he doesn't know how to change formation tactics too much. apart from 1 up front which he was taught by walter. be a while before were a football team again

Agree8 Disagree9

Ally was taught to play one up front by walter. at school I was taught never hit a guy with glasses it wasnt long in the real world before I realised guys with glasses need to be skelped the same as everyone else how much does it take for a manager to say hang on am going to be brave and risk two and see what happens if the guy catches fire or the pitch explodes or a huge bolt of lightning strikes my dug out I can always take him off again but am going to give it a go but then again it could be the work that's needing done to the stadium and too many up front will cause the pitch to tip over

Agree5 Disagree0

It's Monday evening - how did the press conference go? {The Ed039's Note - And I am glad I dont need to eat my hat, its a nice hat)

I can't see CG giving Ally a penny to spend on players, can you blame him.

Believable19 Unbelievable6

His record in yhe transfer market is shocking the same as his tattics not got a clue

Agree16 Disagree4

He has been given a small fortune, an unbelievable financial risk for the position Rangers were in at the beginning of this season.

Agree5 Disagree2

Most of the players ally has brought in have been reasonably successful playing with other teams at a higher level. it was the same story last year. all of his signings with the exception of aluko failed to produce the goods but came to us with reasonable CVs. i'm sure that if he is allowed to bring more players in next season the result will be exactly the same. the laws of probability will have to be re-written because it is impossible to sign as many players we have and for every one of them to be a dud. it just can't happen.

Agree0 Disagree2

10 Mar 2013 12:35:07
Lets be honest here people, Our team is awful and our tactics that the manager and his coaching staff are putting into practice are ridiculous surely our number one signing should be Derek Adams and his staff up at Ross County and the embarrassing thing is I don't know if the guy would come down the divisions to take us where we should be heading especially when he could take County into Europe etc. But Ally I think you have had your shot at glory. again. and at the end of the season I think you should step aside and let someone else finish the journey we have begun.

Tam-Sir 1873 Always a legend but never been a manager.

Believable18 Unbelievable7

Well said m8, couldn't agree more, after BDavies I would go for Adams

We have no chance at getting billy Davies anymore, could've got him at the start of the season but we choose to back ally.

Nowhere in world football is the blame constantly piled on players instead of the manager. It's the manager who gets changed out first not the players.
These are all McCoists hand picked guys. SPL and internationalists. It's fourth tier ffs, even in SPL these results wouldn't be acceptable.

Believable15 Unbelievable3

2nd highest wage bill in scotland, says it all.

Should walk this league, gretna did in style.

Agree22 Disagree1

To be honest I supported Ally until very recently and still think he should be given the full season but.

I don't have any faith in him what so ever to ever get us playing good football and the fact that he seems to have just became a yes man for Charles Green makes me think just about anybody in charge would do a better job, with his resources Ally must be the biggest underperforming manager in Scotland even Bomber seems to be giving Dundee a bit of fight.

Agree16 Disagree4

As I have said before Ally is clueless, he said and I quote again, " The players I have brought in have been brought in as the fans deserve runs in the cups" we could't even get to the final of the Ramsdens Cup for gods sake, yesterday we were played off the park by part time outfit, we started the game with 7 players who at some time in their careers have played in the SPL, EPL or Seria A, at least 4 have winners medals in their back pockets. WE can't LET HIM WASTE THE YOUTH AND ANY MONEY WE HAVE HE IS CLUELESS

Agree25 Disagree3

The players were all good players until Ally got his hands on them. Ally must go now. No more chances. It's blown.

10 Mar 2013 09:43:33
Does anyone else think the players that have been brought in were just panic buys that wernt even scouted? Think there was a list of players available and ally closed his eyes and just picked a few out.

If these guys were scouted then its a wake up call that current scouting system needs scrapped and started over. Think there are to many ex players with an influence when players are being picked. {The Ed039's Note - Of course they were panic buys but that is an indication of the situation we found ourselves in, not knowing what division we were playing in, if at all, what sort of sanctions would be imposed, ie when the transfer embargo would kick in and these players were brought in to boost the numbers and they were available)

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Annan's guy at the back McNiff I think, strolled through the game. Sould be first on our target list!

Agree6 Disagree2

The boy mcniff showed up our hole team our strikers didn't trouble him. a few years ago it was mentioned that we were looking at him but he got injured the boy is still only 21. This is the type of player we should be getting

"The players know what is expected of them at this club and they dropped below those standards" - Ally McCoist.

McCoist has never been near the standards he constantly criticizes the players for falling below. I will not attend anymore games while he is at the club.

SHAME ON YOU McCOIST, GO NOW!

Believable29 Unbelievable12

I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years but I too won't be renewing while he is in charge. The man is simply not up to the job and the team will never reach previous heights under him. I am astonished about just how bad the team are and how poor sone of the players are. I remember the dark days of the early eighties however the players then are much better than the players today.

Agree22 Disagree4

GO GO GO.
The players were all decent before Ally got his hands on them. That's why they have good salaries. And they would be good under a new management team. Why are they Duds under Ally? Answer: Ally's tactics and formations and Ally's training methods and also the social aspects we've heard about.

Agree26 Disagree4

N2 with the exception of wallace I think the others at the back either can't header a ball or they might not want to upset their hairdoos

First match I went to team started Brown, Young and Shaw, McColl, Woodburn and Cox. , so I've seen more games than most. (96,000 that day against East Fife). The present nonsense must stop now. Yesterday I was ashamed. At least Butcher looks like a Ranger's manager but there are others. He ( or someone suitable) can bring in a proper coaching staff and get the benefit from our wonderful facilities. Please, this week, somebody do something.
Wee Willie

Believable29 Unbelievable7

It's easy to follow a team that is winning that's why people from all over Scotland and beyond ignore their local club and travel to Glasgow.
They then have the gall to complain about lack of competition.
Well Annan proved too much for you
and you just can't take it.
No surprise a couple of bad results and it's "I'm no going back"

Reading all the 'sack sally' comments on here and whilst the team ain't playing well and todays result well enough said let's remember that we had no idea which league we were in until last gasp, giving him the benefit of doubt he may have signed differently had he known earlier, we were left with last minute panic buys to get a team together. He felt he needed experience to get some of the young lads through games - apart from big jig the experienced pros the highest wage earners are letting the youngsters and the club down on the park, looking at the kids and throwing arms in the air when things break down.
Last Saturday when black was gettting pelters in front of the main stand he turned and sneered at the fans with a look of contempt - that alone says it all - Taxi for black please please - if him and others like him want to sit an see out their contract then take a leaf out o big Jocks training manual and have them running up the sand dunes till they puke! Poor displays, bad results can be taken now and then, lack of effort and respect for the fans NEVER!

Believable13 Unbelievable15

McCoist could have signed players in the 1st and 2nd division who would have been cheaper and better than some of the duds that he did sign. We are playing against part time players with a squad with an annual wage bill of £8m. We are playing 1 upfront at home against these teams and he keeps playing our top scorer wide. McCoist is clueless and needs to go
