If, just if, McCoist leaves, who would you have in place? Just your opinions, don't shoot others down if you don't agree. It's very subjective. I'll say Billy Davies. Low starting wage with an increase for promotion, top 2 finish, and so on. Stuart McCall would also be a shrewd bet as the CEO is also moving on and change might be afoot. Great record in last few seasons and brings on youth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not b davis not butcher not macinnes yet stuart macoll with ian murray as assistant would not take fortune in wages

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go for Derek mcinnes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart McCall has done an excellent job at Motherwell with limited funds but can't see anyone other than Ally managing us at the start of our Championship campaign.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heres one stevie clark he would do a job for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go for Ian Murray, part time team in championship just missed out on play offs, great prospect. Once a Ger always a Ger

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex Mcleish assisted by Craig Levein.

Agree0 Disagree0

I had the pleasant surprise of meeting Derek McInnes in the RAH in paisley on wednesday evening as he visited his God parent - he laughed when I suggested he should come take over

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry 6 not big Alex for me. I agree with Copland 1 it will be McCoist next year.
Ian Murray has done well in the championship and will take points of us next season. Stuart McCall was a great wee tenacious midfielder for us and has done superbly at Motherwell having to cope with losing half a team every season but still keeping Motherwell in the top 3 on a shoestring.
I think McInnes has done really well at Aberdeen and would do well with us but he has unfinished business in Aberdeen who are currently the only team who can beat Celtic. They are moving to a new stadium soon and he is probably one that got away.
Qwolf Stevie Clark is a great shout from the left field and was apparently highly regarded by Jose Marinho at Chelsea and seemed to do all right for a while at West Brom. But whilst some of us may want change in both the dug-out and in the boardroom I think we will start next season as we were.
But whilst we are suspending disbelief what about Ya Ya Toure's goal from his own half last Wednesday- now that was a thing of beauty IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't mind Boyd coming back provided its on the right money. Think he has learned a big lesson after leaving the first time. Theory suggests he would score goals in the Championship but as the last few years shows nothing really goes as you would expect. It would be an interesting comparison on the leagues - 22 goals this year. How many would he get in the championship?

Agree0 Disagree0

For the record I wanted big Tel to lead our rise up to the top.
I thnk I was proven wrong on that one.
But I still do not like what we are playing under Ally hence my not wanting him to continue with the same style! of football.
The posts before all carry the same theme cheap to hire managers to save money but a good astute manger buys and sells well and is worth every penny paid.
With the very good possability of very low seson ticket sales only good footballing displays will encourage fans to go now so the right leadership is essential.
Barrhead Eck never let us down.
Dounebear

Agree0 Disagree0

Bambi coming back to Rangers just what we need 2 years at Birmingham City 4 goal not exactly setting the heather on fire it's getting to the point we can nearly name a full team from guys that left us guys who refused new contracts at the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope I'm wrong but we will have McCoist for at least one more season, that's if we have one. If we could get things sorted out, I'd opt for Stuart McCall.

Agree0 Disagree0

I fear McCoist will be allowed to continue. I think McCall might be the best choice. I wonder if season ticket sales might dictate change?

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy b as hughie green said I scincerely hope so folks no many on here will have mind hughie green probably think he played for celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd personally go for Stephen Pressley or, perhaps controversially, John Collins. I reckon both would do a good job and play decent football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lbj d, I think he might have been Charles Green's auld man and that's how he learned about ' Double your money. '

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice on billyb for us more mature in years bears lol do you think monica rose was charlies mum lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done billy b

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwnn mind u its no sore is it maybe its the memories

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcleish with Wilkins or Ferguson and have Jim Jefferies to head a new effective youth set up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwnn, lbj d and the rest of us auld yins, 'opportunity knocks' is probably more apt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billyb I sudgested it was oppertunity knock but she said he done both shows I thought it was yon baldy gut that done double your money his name was micheal miles though I could be wrong lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwnn, Your baldy man was Michael Miles, I think. cheers.

Peter Lovenkrands released by Birmingham City. Make of that what you will :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rather have c burke but will be to dear

Agree0 Disagree0

Will not make nothing of he he run for money before has not been a hit anywhere else should not get another payday

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he was okay for us previously, in a different squad mind you.
750 bucks a week for any auld returning bears.
Or 800 on a young lads with potential
The young lads $ for $ would be well in front, clear the dead wood, less than impressive costly players get in some good young proven players who'd play 24/7 for Rangers, acht grumpy at all the drama
I am and have been going off my head since before bloody valentines day
We've players just now as well as various staff exceeding their capital value (que, but if your boss offered)
I lost my season ticket years ago.

I relocated to stralia, but I watch games mostly via Setanta or pc or the BRSC Brisbane.
It's clear as mud where were going, still, and we're paying our part, while the cash laiden lap up even more and can't seen to even play the part, I don't think all we hear is gospel one way or the other,
but I wish I had the $'s to throw at them all.
I want my club back.
Big rant, sorry.

"Boyds finished, he's too old we don't want to go back. "etc etc well he isn't too old this season and I for one am excited at the thought of him coming back. And whilst I'm on do yous still want butcher back instead of Ally? Be careful what you wish for Bears.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure we should have Boyd back. If he comes back for the same money he's on at Killie though, allegedly £900 a week then fair enough. up front with Clark. Not interested in big bucks for Miller, I bet if he is signed, he'll promptly tear his hamstring and be out for 4 months.

Agree0 Disagree0

Max £2500 miller no

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf you might consider Boydy to be too old, but 22 goals this season- he can still put the ball in the back of the net.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ copland1 I think you have misunderstood Jyf he to wants Boyd back. There is no arguing about his goal scoring ability. The majority of you Ally fans who don't mind us going down the expensive old players route seem to prefer Boyd to Miller except Boyd scored once for us against Celtic Miller scored 11 for us against them. I don't want either I still want us to go the more affordable build for the future route e.g Kenny MacLean of St Mirren who was at Ibrox as a youth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definetly not macleish and levein I used to think levein would have been a man for ibrox but not after scotland debacle

I think King is playing a clever game here. If, as we suspect, the vast majority of season ticket holders do not renew for next season. then the share price will go into free fall. Is he waiting until it gets as low as he wants, to then start offering money for shares from hedgefunds, etc?

If so. then it's a dangerous game, as the Easedales appear to be happy to snap up every available share.

The Easedales have an agenda. I just wish we could figure out what it is!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think this is going to have a pretty ending to it. Boycotting of season tickets is a very risky move. If it forces us into administration again, who wins? Not the fans, that's for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

I convinced the Easedales have an agenda and are working closely with Charlie Green in the background but I could be wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

King I have no doubt is play a game but one that only suits himself not fans and not the club and why the leaders of supporters groups have sided with also deserves to be scrutinised methinks its all about glory fame and power for them

Agree0 Disagree0

Mccoist - out
Butcher - in

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Dave King has played everybody. Just like the Green/Whyte feud [pretence. ], maybe he has done a deal with the Easdales. Would make sense and with the support of a few others, it would change the whole power base. Just buy Ally's shares, as part of a pay off deal, and we may have something. Based on nothing but an auld guy hoping for a glimmer of light.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee boy no thanks ally out don't want butcher

Agree0 Disagree0

Well billy maybe will try anything once

Agree0 Disagree0

4- no chance Butcher are you joking.

If McCoist is ever replaced you might want to add Stuart McCall to your list of possible managers.

Agree0 Disagree0

5. Hopefully King tells fans what his intentions are because to date its all very quiet as the division over season ticket renewals continues to dominate the headlines.
We all want a successful team on the park but who knows what the future holds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kfraser- you are spot on as currently we don't know what the outcome of this will be.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2014 20:37:25
Butcher would shine at rangers, hibs have absolutely no talent atall, rangers have all talented youth and decent players compared to the hibees, if he was still ar Inverness yous would take him in a second

Agree0 Disagree0

But he's not at Inverness, he chose pastures new, they were in a better position under fenlon, if we got rid of a manager unbeaten in league all season for one who hasn't won a league game in 13 games then you start worrying. Is the spfl really that hard a league?

Agree0 Disagree0

Butcher has already said he would not take the rangers job a while back maybe but I wouldn't want him he was a mug to leave ict imo

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2014 00:56:51
Anyone that brings through youth will do well as rangers manager, well for the championship anyway

Some information I heard from an aquaintance at Rangers Pools who told me this interesting fact.
As we all know up to now ally was untouchable, as they needed him to help sell season tickets, but now apparently board are a) worried about poor sales and b) Ally's falling reputation among the fans.
Board are SERIOUSLY thinking of replacing Ally before start of season.
Any other bear heard these rumours?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hawd on CB that's an almost sensible post. Are you feeling alright? lbj d said he had heard something similar- I think

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 And that's probably where CB heard it or have he and lbj d got a source that they are willing to share.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - No, it is something doing the rounds quite consistently though)

Come on guys stop trying to cheer me up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just another rumour made up, like cribari signing a new deal, rangers 2 weeks away from admin, etc, etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Clarkston bud I was told that wallace is looking at the options I believe this to be true

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf its not the same source I have crossed all my fingers and toes I know it won't cure the shareholder problem but it would make the club more attractive to new investment or acomplete buyout every commentator and reporter know macoists management and tactics are pure mince

Agree0 Disagree0

Bonbon its certainly not made up on my part

Agree0 Disagree0

So we have 2 sources saying the board thinking about getting ally out, are these sources privy to all boardroom talk? Surely one of them must know who blue pitch holdings are or margarita?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the benefits to our team would be immense if it comes to pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the stuff posted on here about Ally are disgraceful and personal, my question is, have the posters that are posting about him as a man actually met him? I've met him several times, at supporters functions, at Ibrox after matches, charity functions ect and he is Rangers through and through and would never do anything to harm our (his to)club. Has anyone else found this? or the opposite for that matter?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jyf, I have met him and found him pleasant and good company. I do not doubt that he has Rangers close to his heart, but that does not make him a good manager or tactician. Posts about him should concentrate on his ability to do the job and how much he has been re-imbursed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally may be the nicest man on the planet but that does not make him a good manager especially for promoting young players and building a team of value to the club or for that matter exciting for the fans to watch.
He doesn't seem to be aware of how to build a team with promise for the future instead opting for buying aging, apparently reliable pros who will help him build his ego rather than rebuild the club.
His nice guy character has done him no favours also with the support and backing he has given to each and every so called saviour to rangers ie Craig Whyte, Charles Green and David Somers etc.
And the claim that he was unaware of his own salary is laughable as is his supposed lack of knowledge of how rangers are in this current financial predicament.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf mccoist is not a good manager & yes I have met him a few times, nice guy but not a good manager his tactics are shocking that's why he called long baw mccoist, if he gives cribari anew deal I won't go back till he's gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf, I read a story a while back on this site about McCoist getting the whole team to sign autographs for a young Rangers fan at Easter Road at half time whilst he's was 2IC to Walter Smith. It summed up the great nature of the man.

I just wish he'd show greater courage in nurturing home grown talent and worry less about his position. As crazy as it sounds, did we really have to play our seasoned pros instead and win the league by 39 points? We've got to invest in the future, now more than ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have met macoist many times yes he is good company yes he supports rangers but he has supported every new owner are however is paying his wages but most of ally supports his self before everything else believe me

Agree0 Disagree0

That was for his eggo not for the club

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 not so, Ally had a far better and more lucrative career just prior to coming back to the Gers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op, I have read numerous posts on hear slating ally's ability, or rather, lack of ability in his current position as manager and have indeed contributed with comments myself but not once have I made or read a personal attack on him on this forum.

Please enlighten us as to where we will find these comments.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've slated mccoist the manager and defended him when people start saying he's as bad as green, whyte, stockbridge etc. at times I just think he's naive and hopes someone is going to do the right thing to sort out the mess. But it does my head in when he gets abuse on here for anything other than his poor tactics and lack of youths in the team. We need to keep things in perspective, who manages us is the least of our worries right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

@9 McCoist is his own worst enemy because he is happy to do all interviews and talks without thinking. Also he is just not too bright and this all too frequently trips him up with the "I didn't look at my contract"classic etc
But he is a Bluenose and will want the best for the Gers but he is just not managerial material.
Sorting out the board, finances and who owns what is probably of more moment however we are football supporters and we go to Ibrox and away grounds to watch football not to watch boardroom machinations.
And quite simply the football is woeful, the tactics are woeful, there is no shape to the team and they do not look coached. The majority of us can see that in the engine room for example Black cannot raise the tempo to blow away the inferior sides. We could have had Law and McLeod in central midfield. We could have had young Robertson and Wallace on the lhs and young McAusland and MacKay on the right hand side. Yes the young players would have been inconsistent but ffs who has been more inconsistent than Black and Sheilds?
However as we are in such a perilous position financially if the football is so poor as to greatly reduce the number of fans attending Ibrox and hence reducing the club's income then that is a huge problem. And McCoist and McCoist alone is the cause of that- nothing to do with the board or who owns what. If you step forward to manage you have to accept responsibility for tactics performance and motivation. People can say players this, players that but the manager who assembled all these players is responsible for all poor displays end of!

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 great post mate bang on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well put greybear

Agree0 Disagree0

Greybear I totally agree - McCoist deserves criticism for the reasons you mention! But not for being a Spiv as others state. We have 2 problems:

1. The owners/board/finances etc
2. The manager

Both separate issues, both need addressed, but number 1 worries me most at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on greybear.

Just been looking at talking bawls website top 10 questions asked on graham Wallace Twitter today, most are cheeky tims but funny as feck!

E. g.
@Oldfirmfacts1 #ReadyToListen Hi Graham, my friend got told off at Ibrox for eating a green starburst, how do you intend to deal with this?

Your joke is fine lad

P. S Hibs in the playoffs- lost again to Killie. Could be quite a Championship next year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Greybear yes it will be a good hard league next season do you think we will win the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwnn at this moment in time and if nothing changes I think Hearts are ahead of us. But there will be more comings and goings before the new season so who knows? What is certain is there will be more competition in the championship than in the top league IMO. Finally 11% want Cribari to get a new contract eh??
