Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

10 Nov 2017 17:46:59
Well the Club Statement sure puts all the "have it in good authority" and all the "my mates dads dug says" rubbish that is being spouted on here to bed.

IMO MsInnes is a non starter.

10 Nov 2017 19:17:16
Gosman, I totally echo you here mate! If mcinnes was the outstanding candidate that the media and some on here are making out, then he would have been appointed our manager by now! So like you gosman, I don't think it will be mcinnes now, somehow!

10 Nov 2017 19:46:32
Would have to think that if the board are waiting until the end of next week then they are maybe looking at seeing how Michal ONeill gets on with the playoffs

10 Nov 2017 20:36:48
My take on our managerial situation now, since the board made a statement tonight is this. I think graeme murty will remain rangers caretaker manager, until after the double header with aberdeen, which takes us into december! I'm now becoming more confident in thinking, that if the team does well up 'till then, the job could well be graeme murty's to lose! I certainly wouldn't mind that at all! A 12 month rolling contract is no significant risk in my eyes!

10 Nov 2017 20:55:41
oneill proved last night what he can't do is beat a team that's well organised and a lot more fitter

11 Nov 2017 13:28:02
The job is going to Murty. Go down the bookies and get a big bet on it. To be fair he is probably as good a candidate till the end of the season as anyone. He will do ok. Is he the perfect candidate? No, but will do as good as anyone till end of season with current crop of players. Then see what transfer funds are available

10 Nov 2017 17:45:38
THE Club confirms that since the departure of Pedro Caixinha it has received numerous applications for the now vacant position and is anticipating further applications by the end of next week.

The Club will then consider all viable options available to it. At this time the Club has not interviewed any candidate and will take its time to ensure that the best possible decision is made.

11 Nov 2017 13:30:34
Beginning to think the board are clueless.

What’s the hold up?

A blind man could see Pedro was struggling. In this day and age everyone in football has an agent. Surely they should have been putting the feelers out weeks ago. Got a horrible feeling we are going to get a Pedro Mark 2.

McInnes isn’t going to be submitting a cv so it looks likely it won’t be him. People submit cvs for everyday jobs. Our board and DOF should be identifying their target and doing everything to get him. It’s the Rangers managers not a job advertised on the internet.

10 Nov 2017 14:20:05
Hi Bears - don't post much but read posts, especially when we are waiting on big news! Couple of comments
1. Obviously keen that the right manager is appointed and if that means taking time to do appropriate due diligence (which seems to have been lacking with PC appt), then so be it. Can't afford another mistake :- (
2. However, what has surprised me is that we don't have a shortlist until well after PC gone. I would have thought a succession plan for the most crucial role at the Club would have been a key task for any DoF. A list of candidates that is regularly reviewed for suitability, availability etc. And the board must have seen this coming? So not better prepared to move quickly?

Let's hope it's worth it!

10 Nov 2017 14:45:16
Blue belle I couldn’t agree more.

10 Nov 2017 15:37:31
Surely a board has to have faith in the manager 100% or not at all? What sort of message would it send to any manager if a board said they were backing you yet were drawing up a shortlist of replacements at the same time.

It's now fairly obvious that appointing Pedro was a mistake but to be fair to the board, they did back him in the transfer market and gave him plenty of chances to succeed or at least show signs of progress. Sadly there were none and the shambles of hi son last couple of games were the straw that broke the camels back.

I agree with Alex Rae's recent comments about their being a rangers way and a pride and integrity about the club. Plotting behind the scenes and secretly planning for our own managers replacement goes against that.

He was rightly sacked, no harm taking a couple of weeks to do the recruitment properly and thoroughly this time.

11 Nov 2017 08:12:05
Yes Nassau seen all of that but then again you could watch YouTube videos of sebo or other players that make them look exceptional finishers! Do it week in week out given the chance - this is rangers not a stop gap team you can score score a few goals against your Hamilton’s, Patrick’s etc and be a fist choice striker and ‘exceptional finisher’

11 Nov 2017 12:05:19
Said the exact same thing myself mate, it's been obvious to everyone in Scotland that it was just a matter of time until Pedro got the bullet. As soon as it was apparent he wasn't the man (7 months ago to most bears) then they should've started work on a shortlist of candidates to replace him. Poor organisation in my opinion, would've been perfect to have appointed a manager at the start of the international break to give him a couple of weeks with the squad.

11 Nov 2017 12:18:17
The board would have known he was on a limited amount of time to turn results around. If that's the situation then surely you say let's get a plan in place if needed. That's the sensible approach. The new manager should have been in place after the thistle game so he had time to get I think get settled and put his ideas across to the players

11 Nov 2017 13:37:44
That is exactly what Southampton do. They have a shortlist of managers and are constantly reviewing it. It has to be said it has been fairly successful for them in the last 5 or 6 years with the likes of Koeman and Poch. No harm in planning for worst case scenarios.

10 Nov 2017 14:01:08
What's the hold up in us appointing a new manager? If it's going to be mcinnes and god forbid ANTHONY DOCHERTY as assistant then just get it done, or do we not have the money to pay the compensation!

10 Nov 2017 14:51:11
As long as Murthy is keeping the players going, they can afford to take their time on the manager.

10 Nov 2017 14:51:40
*Murty

10 Nov 2017 15:04:20
Why God forbid?

10 Nov 2017 17:09:52
parky because he is rubbish and for my opinion mcinnes won't do us any good as i said before it will all end in tears

11 Nov 2017 12:10:58
parky7720, maybe because he hates our club with a passion?

10 Nov 2017 13:16:31
Here's food for thought. how's about playing Pena as the main striker with Morelos behind him? Love him or loathe him, the Mexican could find space in a battery farm and is an exquisite finisher infront of goal. This would allow Miller to drop into the roll Windass currently occupies. Carlos is not a favourite amongst the Ibrox faithful just now because he appears lacklustre. He always looks like a centre forward trying to operate in a midfield or playmaker role. I think he should be used as a centre forward. Morelos would be brilliant slotting in behind him as he is strong on the ball and probably the best forward player in Scotland for holding up posession without being intercepted right now. The two would be lethal with Pena as the main striker. Que bedlam.

10 Nov 2017 13:43:43
While you're at it, why not play Fodderingham right wing?

10 Nov 2017 13:43:45
Sorry Nassau bear don’t see the exquisite finisher there or a footballer tbh will always give a ger a chance but sometimes you just know when you see footballer that they are just not up to scratch and never will be - him and Herrera for me are just duds and should be moved on ASAP. Windass on the hand definately has some sort of decent ability just needs a new manager to install his confidence and faith and I think he will turn a corner and be a decent player for us.

10 Nov 2017 13:50:55
if you are playing one up top, it needs to be someone with energy and fitness to consistently chase and harrass the opposing back line. First line of defence and all that, Pena would give the opposition forever on the ball to start attacks. Being up top is a tireless shift, not sure it is a fit with him at all.

10 Nov 2017 14:56:49
We should have a have two up top morelos is crying out for a strike partner

10 Nov 2017 16:44:58
Alex32. Did u see his goal against Partick? Or any of the 2 he scored against St Johnstone? Have u seen his top 15 in Mexico on YouTube? If you had then you would agree he has an exceptional eye for goal.
Snell, playing Morelos just behind Pena or just beside would be great. I feel they have many attributes between them, which you will find in no other Scottish club's arsenal. Time we played to our advantages.

10 Nov 2017 17:51:08
Miller and Morelos must be the first choice strikers.
I have my doubts that Pena will feature in any of the games under Murty or the new manager but that's my opinion and let's wait and see.

11 Nov 2017 12:02:31
Foderingham on the right is a shout, canae be any worse out there than he is in goal.

11 Nov 2017 12:10:21
Pena as the main striker, where to start with that one 🤔😩

10 Nov 2017 09:23:52
Was speaking with my brother and he made an interesting point, maybe we are waiting to after the Hamilton game to make an approach for mcinnes, the reason being this will totally disrupt Aberdeen for the upcoming double header against them.

10 Nov 2017 12:48:34
What difference would it make to wait till after the Hamilton game considering we play Dundee away between Accies and the double header and the sheep play Killie away after next weekend again Motherwell.!?

10 Nov 2017 13:52:28
would it not harm us too in the fact in gives less time for him to get in with the squad across of a crucial and tough double header? if it is to be DMc then sooner he is in the better

10 Nov 2017 18:48:36
I'd like murty to take the Hamilton game to get 3in a row lol.

10 Nov 2017 19:59:46
is this our level now, need to disrupt them to have a chance of a win

11 Nov 2017 12:03:14
Charlie Adam saying on talks port that he's heard McCinness deal is close but rangers trying to sort out the compensation deal as we don't want to pay 800k. I'm sorry but it's in the contract so just pay it and get him in. Utter embarrassment getting.

10 Nov 2017 08:29:40
So the Celtic/ Aberdeen select couldn't even get a result against a mediocre Dutch team last night. Maybe now we'll get a manager in who'll throw away his green-tinted glasses and love of sheep and play others such as Snodgrass, Morrison, Walker, Naismith, Dorrans, Rhodes, etc. Other than Tierney and Robertson, I don't really rate any of the current Scotland mob though reluctantly I'd play Griffiths if on form. Rangers are some way off supplying players for the national team again though surely Jack, Dorrans and even wee Holt should at least be in the squad? McCrorie is certainly one for the future.

10 Nov 2017 08:50:51
Celtic at present have the best scottish players in a lot of positions, aberdeen players have been playing well but over looked. Dorrans hasn't been firing all cylinders like we expected and holt has had a few good games lately. Yes McCrorie is one for the future.
You can't really moan about them and the sheep having the majority of players as they have the better scottish players, up here anyway. Snodgrass is proven, Morrison. meh, Walker hasn't been playing that great, Naismiths time is over next campaign is to far away for him at 31 the now so what's the point in even picking him. Rhodes. he is doing nothing down south now. But again its a friendly with a interm manager. Though they played well in spells.

10 Nov 2017 09:48:13
My Scotland XI

Gordon (reluctantly)

Paterson
McCrorie
Souttar
Tierney

Brown

Forrest
Armstrong
McGregor
Roberton

Griffiths

4-14-1

10 Nov 2017 10:04:35
Wee_Bear - I like your team but we need someone in beside Souttar or McCrorie with more experience and IMO Ryan Fraser is head and shoulders above James Forrest.

10 Nov 2017 11:34:02
It was a friendly and an experimental squad, they were right to call up and look at Jack as his form over the last THREE years merits it. Dorrans has been injured and not playing to his potential and Holt has hardly kicked a ball all season. Jack will NOT get a slot in CM before Armstrong, Brown, McGinn out of the Scottish based players. He might thou be considered for RB due to the lack of options there. Young Ross would need a good run in the team to get called up but he's going in the right direction.

10 Nov 2017 11:38:22
Why do so many people on here think McCrorie should get a call? He has just broken into the Rangers side so let’s just let him try and cement his place there before throwing him into international football.

10 Nov 2017 15:49:16
I really don't understand why Liam Cooper doesn't get a start, even in a friendly. He has been playing consistently well at a higher standard than Berra and Mulgrew for a couple of seasons now.

He's only 26 and captains his club, would much rather see him given a chance than persisting with mulgrew or playing a left back out of position.

10 Nov 2017 19:41:32
Doiger you have literally proved to all and sundry you know nothing about football.
Wee bear not a bad team mate, McCrorie for me looks a good prospect but is he ready for it yet, u will know better than I.

10 Nov 2017 06:35:04
Ok folks first time post here. Did anyone watch the Scotland game? How do we rate ryan jack? I feel he hasn't been up to scratch in midfield however had a decent game. Thoughts?

10 Nov 2017 09:42:57
Didn't see the full game but from what I did see Jack certainly looked pretty decent. Hoping his form for Rangers will improve with whoever is chosen as new manager.

10 Nov 2017 10:14:19
played okay for someone who was played out of position

09 Nov 2017 22:42:45
People wonder why some rangers fans don't support scotland -25 year old Ryan Jack, born in Aberdeen, is making his debut for Scotland tonight. A very proud moment for himself and his family. He touches the ball 3 times in the first 30 seconds and is booed by his own fans on all 3 occasions. Only in Scotland. 🙄

10 Nov 2017 09:30:57
can't agree with you allyboy1976.I'm a rangers fan who follows rangers everywhere, for the best part of 40 odd years now and wouldn't let any of they morons, stop me from supporting my country! We should be making our voices heard in amongst these idiots instead of letting them win, by driving rangers fans away, from supporting their country! They certainly won't drive me away! Allyboy1976,thats like saying we shouldn't support rangers as some of our supporters boo our OWN players if they've had a bad performance! I never boo rangers players anyway, never have done and never will do! Rise above it let them hear our voices at scotland games, instead of letting them win, by stopping some of our supporters, naturally supporting their country!

10 Nov 2017 10:13:36
Sorry coops, I don't normally disagree with you but for me it is Rangers and only Rangers. After witnessing the hatred shown against my club over the past 5 years, and the fact that every man Jack in power in the football authorities did their very best to try and kill us off forever. And now the game is being run by Liewell's glove puppets - nah, not for me, not anymore.

10 Nov 2017 10:59:28
The seeker, i totally agree with you that all other clubs supporters have a hatred towards rangers, of that there's little doubt mate! The sfa are clueless, i also know that! But and here comes the BUT! Can you tell me why any of the above mentioned should stop us supporting our country? I just can't accept that buddy! I'm proud to be scottish and British, in that order and i wouldn't allow any of they imbeciles, stop me from supporting my national team, the country of my birth! We've also got to remember here guys that it was rangers so called men, who caused the demise of the institution we all know and love, the famous glasgow rangers! We have to accept that and move on!

10 Nov 2017 11:10:05
Supercoopereleven, 100% mate, fact is until recently a very large percentage of Scotland fans were Rangers fans and actually 80% of the Tartan Army were made up of Bears up until the 80's (Cue the disagrees but it's obviously changed since then, now Rangers fans are just over 20% of the TA, but are still the single largest group in the TA) .

Regardless of what happened to us in 2011/ 12, Rangers are huge part of Scottish Football history and nothings going to change that, I'll always support my country.

Don't let the idiots win by deserting it and letting them have it the way they want it; without Rangers fans.

10 Nov 2017 12:19:39
A man after my own heart! Bang on BearMode91!I just wish some of our own supporters can see it the way we do mate!

10 Nov 2017 13:03:09
Supporting Scotland has nothing to do with what team you follow. If that team was just celtic and aberdeen players playing as long as they are wearing the scotland top I will be cheering and celebrating with fellow fans. But its up to you, just really seems strange that football fans don't follow there national team or follow another countries one.

10 Nov 2017 14:49:40
I always support Scotland whoever they're playing but I can also see where seeker is coming from with his opinion. There is a hatred towards Rangers and they're fans that's unhealthy. I refuse to be put off wanting Scotland to do well cause of these morons.

10 Nov 2017 19:47:03
Its people like Seeker that boo I bet, all with bitter tiny minds.
To say only in Scotland is complete nonsense this goes on all over the world Pique being a recent one.
Not so long ago Germany was full of Bayern players, Holland full of ayax players it happens because their the best teams.
Do u think Dortmund fans or PSV fans were happy I seriously doubt it but we don't hear about it.

11 Nov 2017 02:23:33
You think I was at Pittodrie booing Ryan Jack, Rayman? Lol
For the record I have attended many Scotland games in the past but will never be at another one for the reasons stated above. And also just for the record I have never in my life booed a footballer at a game, opposition player or otherwise. It's just something I would not do. Sorry to disappoint you.

11 Nov 2017 21:44:01
It is sad that the tartan army and the SFA make rangers, their fans and players feel unwelcome watching the national team. Personally, i think the SFA are rotten to the core and the tartan army are a complete embarrassment, so I don't watch Scotland any more.
