I hate to see the vile abuse of club legend Ally McCoist, yes, he made mistakes, many of them and was not the best manager. But you have to remember the circumstances he was operating under and that without him what might have actually happened. MW would never have come to us in Div 3 with the crooks and spivs we had on the board. I'm sure I will get shot down for this post but I wonder if the people who spout their vitriol against Ally actually witnessed the goals he scored and the joy he gave us as fans? If you did witness this then maybe you have forgotten and should watch a dvd or YouTube. Yes he was well over paid but I think the goals he scored he was due it in my eyes as doubt his pay was that great in those days.

Super Ally always a Rangers legend

10 Sep 2015 21:00:56
I'm 48 so he was my hero use 2 watch him every game for years. When it started everybody took a pay cut apart from him until they found out how much he was getting. I know u have 2 look out for yourself and your family but I'm sure he had made plenty by then.

10 Sep 2015 21:31:51
Fourlads?

I am with you - we all make mistakes - ffs I have got the teeshirt, so I have.

Ally was asked to be a manager with a wage - but he was much more than that - if not for Ally the gates could have shut.

His bosses gave him the salary.

How many of you out there would give up your salary and walk away to save the business?

He was due the wages! I do not have a problem with that, at all.

He is a legend both on and off the park.

11 Sep 2015 00:04:34
I think a lot of the negativity attached will be due to his endless endorsements of said spivs. Being a crap manager is one thing penny shares for saying a spiv is genuine is another matter all together.

10 Sep 2015 21:30:19
A legend on the park but a total failure at Management which put the club backwards 2 years!! So Bears what do you make of Dave King's " Rangers will Receive further Investment This Season " Now wait for it. " In the Form of Short term LOANS as & when are needed.

10 Sep 2015 22:11:05
ally was a huge hero if mine especially 92 euro run and golden boot seasons but the man was already loaded before managing rangers. his wage back then would of made him very comfortable and then his tv deals so when it came to walking away to be a gardener he should have walked away not trudged down the path getting his pockets filled with dough I can't forgive that he knew how bad finances are for rangers and could of made a deal as soon as DK came in so we could move forward as quickly as possible without the circus that surrounded our club carrying on could of went it didn't work out give me x amount as compensation for working under strenuous conditions and forge the rest . X amount being a minimum .never forgive never forget

10 Sep 2015 14:57:35
Typical mccoist trying to look good why not do it at t begin great player but money grabber like the rest of them.

10 Sep 2015 15:43:21
Totally agree he has took 500.000 of the club but is forfeiting the last 3 months big deal! The only reason he has agreed to it is because he is close to getting a job somewhere according to keith jackson. So dave king don't talk a load of bollocks about the terms are favourable to the club! Since the new board came in he has took about 300.000 out of the club

10 Sep 2015 16:23:27
He should have been made to come to every day cleaning toilets, painting, hoovering. As long as he got wages we should have got a shift out of him, he may have been the highest paid bog cleaner in the world but how long would he have stuck it 8 hours a day. As much as I love football them involved in it don't have a clue what the rest of us go through in the real world

10 Sep 2015 16:41:19
He had previously said he would work for nothing for Rangers at the start of div3/Well he did & Was Paid for Nothing. DK has waited over 3 month for to come to a settlement why not 6months ago? That's the thing with Dave King)poet & didn't know it. )Tranceparecy was promised. RFC have been living on crisis loans & DK's Loan.Money is scarce at present & the club is still a loss making business. The auditors have had time to look at the books ( probably knocked em aff Err feet). /

10 Sep 2015 17:59:53
Why bother with that post?

10 Sep 2015 19:02:58
This is not DK fault Ally is doing this now as wouldn't have done 6mths ago 2 much money 2 loose. Ally just trying to look good the money grabber

10 Sep 2015 19:22:10
Mccoist is close to taking a new job, didn't want to publicly say something until it was confirmed however I can confirm that he'll be the next Manager of the Saltire AFC playing out of Livingston. We're not expecting much but we are glad Ally has found is standard.

10 Sep 2015 19:42:04
I think people r starting 2 jump on DK back. Don't think he is a 100% telling t truth but look at t gers now compared 2 last year. We r doing ok let's c when we go up if he will put money in.

10 Sep 2015 19:48:52
As long as he stays away from Craigshill thistle

10 Sep 2015 21:32:41
Sorry I meant to say He done Nothing but was paid for Nothing.

11 Sep 2015 07:51:17
Garve jim what a load of nonsense do u realise how pathetic that sounds" your basically saying he is telling lies but don't worry he isn't as big a liar as previous directors at club. I wish dave king would stay in the background and let CEO run the club everytime he comes over and gives statements and interviews he is open to ridicule because he contradicts things he said in last statements. What's your opinion Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I dislike owners getting involved in this kind of thing full stop. They should stay in the background. The best kind of owners are those like Roman Abramovich, who stay out of the public eye and let their team do the talking for them on the pitch.}

11 Sep 2015 21:40:25
Imagine we ever got a legit guy with abramovich's wealth getting involved in the team from the blue side of Glasgow, dreaming I know, but what a dream.

10 Sep 2015 14:44:38
I think we all agree we will be back in the top flight next season
Will we end the season with a better record than hearts if memory
Serve me well they only dropped a few points and sacredness 100 goals
I also think we may get a second season out the lad from adrenaline only players currently playing in Scotland I would sign would be shinnie from Aberdeen and wait and
See if any one comes in for some of ours

10 Sep 2015 15:25:20
Which lad,bowmac?

10 Sep 2015 13:27:49
dave king says we are ahead of schedule both on and off the park but we are still 5 players short from taking celtic on

10 Sep 2015 16:51:33
Aye son, messi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Suarez and kroos, lol 😁

10 Sep 2015 21:09:25
When is this Celtic game then?

10 Sep 2015 21:34:32
haha lol. Bloody Brilliant Fab

10 Sep 2015 13:22:49
dave king says celtic did rangers a favour by signing scott allan

11 Sep 2015 21:46:00
Alaska let's see what that lot think of there capture when there new gaffer is shouting at that lazy player telling him to fall back, one of the worst player ever for trying to retrieve the ball especially when it's him that lost it, probably not fit enough to fall back.

10 Sep 2015 15:17:54
just seen highlights from the u20s game the average age was 18 anyone know the average age of the team against raith surely got to be one of the youngest ever

10 Sep 2015 10:09:45
i think there are two many bears getting carriedaway its only september there is a long way to go and there will almost certainly be be somesetbacks on the way u don't want the team turning up for games thinking its won before going on the park u just need to look at the hype for the euro qualifiers for n/ireland and ourselves in georgia certainly if we are in a commanding position in january then we can be confident

10 Sep 2015 10:28:55
There is a long way to go but I don't think MW will ever allow a team of his to turn up and think it's already won. He has a very rigid work ethic that all players must follow or they'll no be there it's that simple. I think it's also the reason we've started so well because the group has the hunger and belief every game. Not that they deserve to win but have the will and desire to win! And so far it's magic!

10 Sep 2015 14:31:47
Interesting that PP will pay out, at the moment, £9.58 on my £5.00 stake for my bet Rangers FC 10 - 0 against Livingston this Saturday.

10 Sep 2015 16:47:54
£9.58p? You or yer bookie gassed?? One team Yous have overlooked is Falkirk. A young talented group of players that at present are playing well.

10 Sep 2015 20:45:29
Steff?

English please.

10 Sep 2015 21:43:09
£9.58 I would grab it the now. Sorry I thought the return was £9.58 for 10-0. That's where the "gassed" came from, as in pissed in case I offend anyone on their political high horse. Kinda messed up nowadays with an off the cuff comment & you find yourself thinking WTF is it these days. PC Brigade has totally ruined my Touretts But hey it's online & I have time to sort the typing lol

10 Sep 2015 08:53:55
Anyone agree that Liam Bridcutt would be a great loan signing with possibility of perm deal in summer?
Holding midfielder who can make a pass. Sunderland looking to offload him and he fits the Warburton mould!
Only neg might be wages

10 Sep 2015 08:38:14
The talk on the forum yesterday about needing a new striker WHEN we go up to the SPL next season was about who to bring in. But what about giving young Hardie a run up front this season and see how he gets on? And isn't Waghorn banging in the goals too? We've a very attacking team now and goals are coming from everywhere on the park. However, if we are to sign a striker make it a classy one!

10 Sep 2015 09:33:33
We need a new striker for next year as I can see Waghorn being used on the Wing as him and Tavernier make a good partnership. Mckay is great out on the left and Oduwa will end up with a new contract at spurs. A new Striker is possibly the only thing we need next year. Possibly a new midfielder aswell. If we only sign two players for next year and they are a striker and a midfielder I will be happy.

10 Sep 2015 10:15:31
I'm pretty sure it'll be a player most of us have never heard of or recruited from Murray Park. That seems to be the Warburton way and it works.

I'd heard of Halliday after his goal at Stamford Bridge but admit to plain ignorance on the rest of the signings from England. Wilson and Scott Who? were the only two names well known as a signing and a target. I wouldn't even try to guess.

10 Sep 2015 07:10:14
On Radio Snide Open line last night . they said that Dave King would be in Glasgow on Thursday giving interviews to the press.

Any idea what it's about?

New Gardener?
Investment of new money via shares issue?
Or something else?

10 Sep 2015 16:49:06
PR Guff There's not a Scottish Journalist that asks some pressing questions

09 Sep 2015 20:45:41
why is it a big deal that Dave King is flying in to close a deal with Ally, 6 months ago YES and save us some money but now is pretty pointless with 3 months off his deal left. It's got a lot of media wonder what will happen with the media when he fly in to put some money into the club? if it ever happens

10 Sep 2015 08:01:16
When such a fanfare is being made about something as trivial as this then it suggests there isn't a great deal of celebratory news beyond it. Now McCoist is on £750,000 a year or so. That is £62,500 a month or with 3 months to go, they have possibly came to a resolution over an amount of around £187,500. Is Ally getting £100,000? Is the club saving £100,000 Are they going Dutch and splitting it down the middle? With the club's overall running costs being north of £30m per season it is a tiny amount of good news and in size the type of good news at Ibrox that previously would have been in the "Oh sorry didn't we tell you?" category. Akin to losing a 20p piece on the way to work, no point telling anyone, it is kind of trivial. But such is the paucity of good financial news that Dave can bring to the table that this merits the full STV and BBC press conference.

Don't get me wrong this has been an open wound for a while and is emotive due to who it is and the astronomical wage he has been on since the day after liquidation was settled but it hardly needs this fanfare over perhaps £100,000 unless it fits the bill of being just about the only good news you are bringing in the short term. "Look at me, I saved us £100,000" from a guy promising £50m in total and £30m personally isn't pulling something great out of a magic hat since that seems to be the obsession of the day. Not brilliant Dave, you pulled out a half-eaten semi mangled hare and we can see your mates hand below the table passing it up.

10 Sep 2015 08:13:27
Yeah seems a bit rich the relatively low amount we will save by him terminating the contract now as opposed to what we could have got when he was first asked to do it.

Always willing to listen to the other side of the story but thus far the silence has been deafening from ally on this score and is probably a condition of the gardening leave.

No doubt Dave king will be pressed on other matters while he's here so it will be interesting to see just how much clarity he's willing to divulge. I think it can only be healthy for us as a club the more honest he is with the fans even if we might not like the answers.

10 Sep 2015 10:05:14
What is the point of Rangers sitting with £30m of Dave King's money in the bank? Ok the board did not deliver on keeping us on the stock exchange, but that was explained by the previous nomad resigning and not seeing a smooth transition as promised.

The only thing I'm worried about is the lack of movement on scouting we can only rely on W and W's contacts for so long, though they have done us proud so far.

On the striker thread I can see us signing 2 defenders 1 central and 1 cover. We will have the best left and right backs in the premiership and A striker in Jan.

10 Sep 2015 10:21:30
Gaz1 ironic realy that you use the word obsession at the end of your post given the increasing frequency you turn up here to air your views on all things Rangers.

10 Sep 2015 15:02:09
Gazza as I said several weeks ago on that particular day 16/30 threads in here were Celtic related and ALL started by Rangers fans, pot, kettle and black are words that are coming to mind.

Even today I count 7, including one you contributed to yourself tut tut. Get back to me when your own obsession with Celtic isn't so transparent.

10 Sep 2015 16:31:21
Maybe just giving you a taste of obsession, at least we don't have a page dedicated to our rivals.
